Flash in a browser

I have re-done my website to include a series of Flash
Movies. The main website program is Microsoft Front Page. When the
first Movie appears in my browser, it is surrounded by a box
prompting, "Click to activate this control." OK. I see a lot of
that on the web, like at www.cartier.com. But I get the same
message for EACH of my web pages. How can I get rid of the need to
do a first click on all of my pages (like www.toyota.com)?

Search for SWFObject and also eolas... PS - this is only an
IE issue.

Not too sure there's a way to turn flash off temporarily. You
will have to uninstall it and then reinstall it when you want it

Problem with flash banners in browser

I have a very frustrating problem with my browser (any browser) opening a flash banner. On my website we have a rotating flash banner and when I open it all four banners open at the same time. It happens on several pages, but not in every page with a banner. I have tried emptying my cache and turning off Kaspersky, but to no avail.
Does anyone know what could be happening???

my page is www.sojournfargo.org, but the page works on my wife's computer and the web designer's computer. I also can't see the banner on www.inforum.com where the news rotates.

SWF file imports as 32x32 icon into DW and will not show Flash playing in browser. WHY???

I am importing a 569 x 441 Flash (CS3) swf file into
Dreamweaver. The file imports as a 32 x 32 "Flash" icon. Once I
change the pixel ratio, and select Play in DW - it looks fine. Once
I export and preview in a browser it looks nothing like my file.

RTMPT causes Flash player and browser to freeze

I'm having a problem with outgoing RTMPT connections.
Whenever I connect to "rtmpt://server/app/file" (or when specifying
rtmp:// which falls back onto rtmpt:// due to firewall
restrictions), the Flash player plugin causes the browser to freeze
for 5-15 seconds and then proceeds with the playback normally. This
affects all browsers on Windows with Flash plugin versions 9.0.115
or 9.0.124 only. MacOSX is working perfectly fine. I'm using Flash
Media Server version 3.0.2.
I discovered that when activating an HTTP proxy server (I'm
using Squid Cache 2.6.STABLE14) in Internet Explorer, the RTMPT
traffic gets redirected through it smoothly and the issue as
described above does not occur.

How to center flash movie in browser window

Can anyone explain how to horizontally center my Flash movie in the web browser window after publishing?
A bit of background:
I was able to achieve this using <center></center> tags a few years ago. But I have since upgraded to CS5 and I understand that this old method is now obsolete.
I have found a few threads/forums that address this, but I know nothing about HTML and these threads don't help me because they assume you have more knowledge than I possess. When opening up the index.html file in Dreamweaver I can't find anything that looks vaguely familiar to what is being discussed. I have found some code samples using <div></div> tags but have no idea where to place it.
So I will need it explained to me in a step by step fashion, including which file I need to fix and what program I should use. Code samples will be very welcome if you can tell me exactly where it goes.

Just realized that there is no scrolling functionality with the .swf generated from the new CS5. Can anyone help out by providing revised code for centering and scrolling?
I found something elsewhere in the forums that worked for both centering and scrolling that worked fine yesterday, but upon visiting my site today for testing, it did not allow the scrolling, and centering did not work in Firefox. Tested both Safari and Firefox on 2 Macs running Snow Leopard.
Again, much appreciated - nice to visit forums where people are interested in helping instead of screaming at each other. Will visit the Illustrator or Indesign forum to see if I can help out someone there...

How to centre Flash content in browser window?

Hi there
I'm relatively new to Flash, so maybe there's a simple answer to this one.
How do I centre my Flash content horizontally in the browser window? In the Publish Settings I see there are options to align the HTML to Default, Left, Right, Top and Bottom, but no Center. Is there a setting somewhere else? Do I need to write some ActionScript to do this? (If so, what?)
I'd appreciate any suggestions.
(I'm using CS3 on a Mac.)

OK, I'm fumbling around a bit here. I see now that the Flash content does resize to fit the window. So, back to my original question: how can I get it to keep its original size but stay centered horizontally in the window?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Flash swf in browser does not loop no matter what - bug?

I have some banner ads in Flash (not mine, but from the
advertisers who have years of experience with flash) in my website
and unfortunately they do NOT loop no matter what I have tried!
They stop just before they finish the first loop.
When i load them on a browser locally they happily loop with
no problem, but if they are served from a web server then they
don't.
I have tried the following and nothing worked:
Removed the params in the object/embed tags
Tried it on many different browsers *and computers* some of
them are IE 6, IE 7, Firefox 2.0 etc
Decompiled the SWF to .fla source and reviewd the code and
found nothing wrong with actionscript
Added the loop param according to adobe instructions
And many more tests which mothing worked and it drives me
crazy!!
Please take a look at the website and you'll see this by
yourself, all of them are NOT looping EXCEPT the last one in the
bootm which has no problem at all.
Please help me out...

Flash Player and Browser Communication

therefore there is no need to write separate action script classes
to deal with the data.
I am getting conflicting reports from other developers saying
that the Flash player communicates directly with data coming from
the server with no stop at the browser level. According to them,
you must write actionscript classes to decompress the data.
Who is right?

If you want to report Flash Player bug, right location is here. If you report ActionScrit bug, JIRA is right place though.

Flash player and browser shortcut keys issue

I've an issue to run the browser hot keys when the flash player is running, the player is kinda stoping the propagation of the events to the browser, is there a way for the player to bubble the events to the browser? .
My application covers the whole browsing area.(flex). I've tried usign empty application without any events, still it is an issue(thought i'm stopping it from propagating to the browser )
Tested on : Windows 7, Chrome 15, Firefox 7.01, (Works on IE)

When I try and stream on Justin.tv it gives me this this allow or deny option and AS SOON AS I HIT ALLOW it crashes the entire browser. I plan on making a presentation that wil be accessible as a
web application as well as a stand-alone on disc. Most users will
be viewing as a 1024 x 728 but do realize that some folks still use
800 x 600. Could someone with publishing experience please provide
practical tips on what is my best format for initially developing
the captivate movie itself so that I do not have to resize the
movie when putting on web or disk?. My purpose is to prevent any
scrolling in viewing the movie and to provide the best viewing
experience for the user.........and do I need to set a rule that
viewing is for 1024 x 728 minimum to make it work?

You will need four things: index.html, sitebottom.html,
sitetop.html and site.js
This will make your movie liquid. It will automatically
adjust itself to the whole screen; whether it's a 15" monitor or
50" plasma.
Kindly find below the code for each page:
Important Note:
a- wherever you see the word "site", be it stanalone or as
part of another word, change it to the name of "your movie".
b- keep everything in the same folder/directory
