Flash in Firefox not working properly.

I have been having an issue with Firefox with Flash performance for several days. The issue is mostly with video performance. Sites like Youtube seem to start to load but the video does not start. It takes several minutes for the video play. Some sites, The video will not show up at all with a blank box. I am completely frustrates because I do not know what is causing this. This only started a few days ago so I think it started with the latest update to flash.
I have tried reinstalling Firefox, Flash, Clearing Cache & History. Even downgrading Flash will not get it to work properly. The problem mostly only affects Flash videos. Flash content on web pages seem to display fine. I have tried Opera as well and it has the same problem. IE works fine. HELP!

  • Help! Flash on Firefox Not Working!

All was fine with flash player on firefox, then all of a
sudden I started to get messages that flash player was not
installed - that I needed to add the plug in and when I would click
on the prompt, it would say I had to do it manually. I did it
manually, said the installation setup was complete, but nothing is
there. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, repairing, I even
uninstalled and reinstalled firefox all to no avail. It works on
IE, but firefox is my default. Help me please! What can I
    do?

I am facing similar problems in windows 7 platform. I updated both my browser and my flash plugin yesterday and since then I am not able to play any video on youtube. Every time I start a video I get the message "An error occured, please try again". However, the same video works fine on Google Chrome.
I have tried all the above suggested methods, but no results. I also tried to revert back to FF 29.0.1 and shockwave flash player version 12.0.0.9. But I am still not able to play any video.
Same thing occurred in my laptop as well as on my desktop.

  • Latest windows 7 patches and firefoz 18 - firefox not working properly - shows stacked windows and does nothing

Jan 10 windows 7 patches, plus new firefox update today. Now firefox starts up and shows multiple, stacked window frames and "firefox not responding" messages on top border. after multiple firefox screen flashes (minutes of time), firefox may eventually display normal windows/frames. Selecting new site, firefox goes through same activities. Startup site is www.baynews9.com, then try going to www.cnn.com

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
    #Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

  • Flash video seeking not working properly

I reinstalled Arch, and I have a problem with seeking flash videos. I'm using the latest offical Adobe Flash player. When I seek (i.e. make the video jump to another point in time) a flash video, the video frame freezes. The playback continues though and the audio works fine. The problem occurs on both Firefox and Opera. The problem does not occur in all flash video sites. Youtube and YLE Areena are affected, Dailymotion and Vimeo are not.

There have been several posts recently about this. https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=114594
edit: I didn't read your post correctly, sorry.

Hi, I think you may want the Flash forum, instead of the Flash Player forum. Or perhaps the forum that is for the Adobe program that you are using.

  • [solved] flash in firefox not working after pacman update

    Hi everyone,
I updated my system today using pacman -Syu and now flash isn't working in firefox.  In fact, opening a youtube video causes firefox to crash.  Before the update it worked fine.  I have flashplugin-11.2.202.406-1 installed.  I don't know where to start to fix this.
I've already checked the about:plugins in firefox and it says that I have the flash plugin installed and its on always activate setting.
Does anyone know where I can start to look for errors?

  • Adobe Flasher Player install not working properly

I tried to download the lastest version of AFP for IE 8 (32-bit) on a 64 bit system and the download manager says it's 100%.  I then checked the file it was supposed to be downloaded to, which is C:Windows/SysWoW64/Macromed/Flash, and the only file there is text document named "install".  Here is the screenshot of it:
    Please help!  Thank you.

Why on earth is it downloading to the WoW64 folder?
That is supposed to be ONLY for the Windows on Windows 64 files that allow 32 bit apps to run in 64 bit Windows.
Download the standalone installer from here
    http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html  or
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
and save it to your downloads folder. Run it from there.
And change your browser preferences so it doesn't download (even temp files) to WoW64.

  • Flash Object is not working in Mozilla firefox 3.6 and safari

    Hi All ,
I am facing issue in Flash , my Flash application functionality is working fine in IE all versions and Chorme , but it is not
working properly in mozilla Firefox and safari as well .
The Problem is when i am using mousewheel scroll at the centre of the mouse to scroll down to the bottom of the page and again revisit some
portion of flash the mouseOver functionality is getting lost and it is expecting a click to gain the focus .
Can any body help me on this .
please provide some suggestions on what need to be done to solve this issue
    regards,

Hi, I don't know about the mouse issue, but go here and test :
http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about  Use your Firefox browser when you test, perhaps you need the plug-in. Whatever the
test tells you to do, do it. Then check your websites and see if that works.

  • Flash players not working properly

hi there, since i have reinstalled my laptop, i am having
problem watching online videos properly, its like sounds comes
perfect, the video slows down and even stuck, cant watch whats
going on in the video. Could you please guide me how to rectify
this problem. The video streaming is not working properly as the
sound streaming is fine. Our internet is fine as its been check on
another Laptop and a Desktop Machine. Kindly reply me back asap.
    Many thanks.
    Regards,

    Hi Harvardbothun-
I still don't know what "reinstalled my laptop means". Put it
    back on your lap? Humor...arr-arr.
Anyway, you have Firefox with the latest FP10 plug-in. Have
you verified this with the "Version Tester"
    http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
and checked the support pages at
    http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/
I ask these questions not to be mean, but to verify your
version and make you aware of the differences between IE FP
(ActiveX) and FF FP (plug-in). Also... the version checker will act
funky if you have 2 different FP versions installed, such as your
XP's OE IE and your added FF. Look in Control Panel, Add/Remove
Programs. Do you see a previous version of FP there? You may need
to update your IE's FP as well, it could be conflicting with your
    FFFP.
Another thing to check.... AVG8's Linkscanner has caused some
issues, mostly by slowing down site-loading. To test this, turn
off/diable that feature. Yes, it'll whine about it. (end of part 1)

  • Flash player does not work with Ie or Firefox with win 8.1?

Flash player does not work with Ie or Firefox with win 8.1 64, If i try and play a video I get the message to install Flashplayer.
If I try and install it it says it is already installed. Your onsite  installer says it is not applicable to my machine.
I have followed all the normal steps re enabling addons and active filters etc.
all to no avail Pc is Dell 6 months old, Flashplayer has never worked on this machine. Last MS update mid Dec 2014.
    Version of flashplayer is 15....03.......

Flash Player is a built-in component of Internet Explorer.  There's nothing separate to download or install.
Firefox requires a different version of Flash Player (the NPAPI plug-in), which will be served to you if you go here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer using Firefox; however, there are some unique stability issues related to Firefox on Win8.1, and you're probably better off using Google Chrome if you want a more optimal experience with Flash Player.
For problems where IE isn't being detected by sites that require Flash:
First, confirm that ActiveX Filtering is configured to allow Flash content:
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/867968
Internet Explorer 11 introduces a number of changes both to how the browser identifies itself to remote web servers, and to how it processes JavaScript intended to target behaviors specific to Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, this means that content on some sites will be broken until the content provider changes their site to conform to the new development approach required by modern versions of IE.
You can try to work around these issues by using Compatibility View:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11

  • Adobe flash player does not work on Firefox, but does on Wind Exp

I have reinstalled Adobe Flash Player many times and also reinstalled Firefox, but flash player does not work. Every tim I try to play something it tells me to install the latest version of flash player. Flash player works fine on on Windows Explorer

IE uses a different version of Flash (ActiveX) than other browsers use, you need to install the Plugin version of Flash.
1.Download the Flash setup file from here: <br />
    [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version]. <br />
Save it to your Desktop.<br />
    2. Close Firefox using File > Exit <br />
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed, <br />
    {XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del = Processes tab}
    3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.

  • I have lost track of the number of websites that do not work properly on the iPad without Adobe Flash player which is unsupported. I cannot use retail sites, billing sites and most important of all job application sites. All are missing tabs, links, info

I have lost track of the number of websites which do not work properly on my iPad. They include retail sites, billing sites and most important of all job application sites. They all seem to require Adobe Flash Player which cannot be downloaded onto an iPad. Skyfire does not solve the problem. They all load without vital parts of the site such as tabs, links and correct formatting. Any suggestions?

Most such brower/service combinations have a difficult time working with Flash-based apps and often fail completely. Flash videos are usually the most successful content these browers can handle. You can try the others apps - Puffin, iSwifter, etc - but you may find that none of them work, in which case you will not be able to use your iPad with these sites other than by using one of the various remote control solutions to take over a computer running the full Flash Player.
IMHO, any developer that built a Flash application for a billing or job application site was an idiot, but I know that's out of the control of anyone but the relevant company.
    Regards.
