Flash inside a template

When I insert a flash movie into a DW template, I can see it
perfectly when I preview the .dwt page in the browser but when I
create a page based on that template and preview it, the flash
movie does not show.
Has anyone similar problem? Does anyone know how to slve it?

Using Flash/AS as Template possible?

Hello Everyone!
I'm very new to flash (just started last week) so please bare with me if this quesion sounds ridiculusly stupid
I wonder if it's possible to use Flash/AS files as "templates" - in other words, we have the website http://shop.variuscard.com and the header is subject to change depending on the product-category you click in the shop. We will have approx 10 categories, and each will have a different product displayed in the flash movie, but the "background actions" should stay the same.
Now, in case I need to change something (let's say the logo changes from blue to red.. and the particle-size and shape) I don't want to change all 10 or more files again. So is there a way to use the "basic" flash file as template, which means - position of the Logo & shadow, and the particle code, and just change the variable pictures and stuff inside the categories? I took that red card-printer as sample of the card-printer category for example.

There are a few ways you can manage having a template file. Probably the more modern approach is to have data file that defines certain characterstics of the file's content, such as the logo image it uses, the title it displays, where things get placed, etc. Then you have your Flash file dynamically load/adjust the content per what the data file dictates. So you data file could specify the name of the logo image file and where it gets planted and the file could use that info to load that file and place it where it goes.
Another thing you can make use of is the FlashVars parameter that the embedding code allows for. So if you had the same banner in the same web site on different pages or sections of a page, you could use the FlashVars to indicate some parameter each file should use to decide what content it needs to make use of.
Combining these approaches can alow you to only have one Flash file, and one data file that you change as needed.

Yes, it is possible.
Create inside your template a loop. Then create inside a text which you address as i.e. row 1, column 1 of your template (cell address).
Now when looping through your table it will place all data in some work area .i.e wa. In your text provide name of the components you want to dispaly i.e. &wa-comp1&.
Please note, that length of your template must be long enought to fit all tables entries.

Rules inside email templates

Has anyone tried calling a rule from inside an email template?
It seems like everything has to be passed in from the workflow to the template. I'm wondering if I can call a rule from inside the template itself to get the data.

From our experience we found that calling rules from email templates doesn't work. It doesn't give any error but it doesn't work.

Flash CS4 Quiz Template: Help Needed

My organization uses the Flash CS4 quiz template that is included within the eLearning suite. Everything works great. The quiz loads on the LMS, it gives learners' their scores, etc. The issue we're having is after the score is recorded within the LMS.
If a user fails the quiz, the LMS marks the quiz as 'Completed/Failed'. The LMS (Inquisic EX), then, moves the failed quiz into the 'Completed Courses' tab. I understand why it does this because the 'Completed' mark given refers to the learner having gone through all of the pages within the quiz; however, the learner failed the quiz. If the learner goes back into the quiz and passes it the second time around, the LMS continues to state 'Completed/Failed'.
Does anyone know why this would happen? Are there SCORM settings we ought to change within the source code provided by Adobe?

When adding a Button directly to the app I can solve the null problem by setting the default button styles, which are included in the SWC like this:

What I really want to do is avoid the coding and make button and other component instances inside of MovieClips in Flash and include them in the SWC.
I can get components to work with Flash Professional Projects, but this is an ActionScript Project, so I need the SWC.

DW has a little bug caused by the special treatment given to
Flash files to
avoid the EOLAS suit penalties (which have since been
rescinded). The bug
is that due to the way it inserts the link to the Flash file,
it cannot then
MANAGE that link, which it needs to do when you spawn a child
page from a
Template.
So - you have to make sure that when you insert any Flash
element into a
Template file, you always select ROOT RELATIVE when you make
your link.
Then DW will not need to manage the link.
Your solution is the remove the Flash element, and reinsert
it, taking care
to specify that the link be made relative to the root of the
site.
Alternatively, you could just manually edit the Flash code
block.

Web link in Flash Web gallery templates?

I've created a number of HTML web galleries from templates, where you could have your id plate as a link. However the flash versions do have the ability to have your id plate be a link! I've tried to track down the file that I could change manually, but I guess flash is a bit more complicated than your normal html, so I couldn't locate which file even had the info where the link needed to be inserted.
any help would be greatly appreciated!

You can put a single link in the contact section... no success with putting in multiple with spaces. But my main goal is to get the identity plate to link...since that is what my whole site does.
Under the Apperance tab is where the identity plate is, and when looking at HTML galleries, there is an additional box to include a link for the id plate. This box isn't available for the flash gallery. Pictures speak a thousand words.....

Flash Photo Gallery Template 3 for CS2

I am trying to build a flash photo gallery using template #3
from Photosho CS2. I can not figure out where in the scripting the
wmode=transparent param goes. The swf is embeded using a script.

if i detach the DW doc from template it works
am i allowed to use flash movie in a template?

Yes, but you need to make the link to the Flash file ROOT
RELATIVE when you
insert it. Document relative links will not work as you have
described.
