Flash install using xulrunner

Hello,
We have embedded the gecko/firefox engine into our .net program using the xulrunner sdk. The problem we are experiencing is when a user installs flash through our implementation, the flash installer doesn't detect that our program has gecko/firefox embedded, so the user can continue to install flash while our program is running, which in most cases causes flash to not install correctly. The only way of course for it to install correctly is to shut our program down before installing flash. Does anyone have an idea of how to get around this problem?
Thanks, Nate

Hello,
This morning we resolved a problem that prevented Flash Player installations from completing for some of our Macintosh users.
If you encountered this problem, please delete any previously downloaded Flash Player installer and either:
Download the installer again from https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer, OR
Download the stand-alone installer posted at the bottom of the http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-mac.html in the ‘Still having problems’ section.
If the behaviour reproduces, please clear the browser's cache and try downloading again.
Thank you.

How do I watch flash based videos without adobe flash installed using Safari?

Once you have Chrome installed, activate the Develop menu in Safari (go to Safari Preferences > Advanced > Show Develop Menu). You then will see under the Develop menu the Open Page With option and Chrome will be listed there.
So each time you open a page with Safari requiring Flash, you use that menu option to open the same page in Chrome.

  • How to install (using usb flash drive) os x snow leopard on 10.5?

i have a version 10.5 (leopard), but i would like to install snow leopard (10.6). i tried using bootable usb flash drive using the "utility drive". However, it did not quite work as i expected. Does anyone know how to use bootable usb flash drive to install snow leopard on leopard?

How to Install OS X Updates Successfully
    A. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions:
Boot from your current Leopard installer DVD. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. Then select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.5.2 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    B. Make a Bootable Backup Using Restore Option of Disk Utility:
Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
Select the destination volume from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
    C. Important: Please read before installing:
If you have a FireWire hard drive connected, disconnect it before installing the update unless you will boot from this drive and install the update on it. Reconnect it and turn it back on after installation is complete and you've restarted.
You may experience unexpected results if you have installed third-party system software modifications, or if you have modified the operating system through other means. (This does not apply to normal application software installation.)
The installation process should not be interrupted. If a power outage or other interruption occurs during installation, use the standalone installer (see below) from Apple Downloads to update.  While the installation is in progress do not use the computer.
    D. To upgrade:
    Insert the USB flash drive.
    Restart the computer.
Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "OPTION" key.
Release the key when the boot manager screen appears.
Select the icon of the USB flash drive and click on the arrow button below the icon.
When the installer finishes loading follow the onscreen instructions.

Should I download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash to use with Lion?  My need for Flash is very basic: Google Maps, YouTube, and content on certain websites.  Thanks for any help you are able to provide.

Thanks for the speedy reply.  I have read so many comments about Flash being incompatible with Lion I was wondering whether to download it or not.  So many sites on the Web still require flash, however, you almost don't have a choice but to download it even if it is incompatible.  I gather a better version of Flash will be available for Lion soon.  Again, thanks for the help.  I will download the latest version of Flash.

  • Install Adobe Flash Player using Dos

I'm trying to install using only the command prompt on Windows. The best thing I could do is to usa a .BAT file to call the installation. Is there a way to install it completely using the dos?
    I'm using Windows 7 now.

    Hi,
You can install Flash Player silently using the -install switch (FileName.exe -install).  This only works with the full installers, posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows.  It does not work with the online (shim) installer downloaded from get.adobe.com/flashplayer.

  • Adobe Flash Install Problem

After numerous Flash crashes I tried to uninstall/reinstall newest Flash Player with Mozilla Firefox ~ unsuccessfully. Next I tried to complete a "clean install" of the newest Adobe Flash Player using Internet Explorer on my Windows XP. Uninstall & delete files seems to have worked but, I save the install download to my desktop, choose run program and the run program dialogue box disappears then the install program icon disappears from my desktop and there seems to be no evidence of any Flash Player download at all anywhere in my system that I can find. Despite redoing these steps, the results remain the same. What is happening and what can I do to be able to successfully download Flash Player again? Add ons + security features are not set to prevent this as far as I can tell. I had the latest version with occasional crash problems prior to this attempt to correct that, but now I have nothing. Help!

If you are trying to install Flash Player on Mozilla Firefox, you need to download Flash Player using Firefox. I think you downloaded Flash Player using Internet Explorer. I am not clear on why the downloaded Flash Player file disppears from your machine.
Could you please download Flash Player from the following link:  http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#mai n-pars_header
    (the second link)
Close all browsers and double-click the file you downloaded.

  • Flash Install Error in Opera-9

When I try to install latest Flash for Opera-9, I get an
error message saying Firefox is using one of the files and must be
closed. I have not opened Firefox in weeks. In Windows Task Manager
Firefox does not show as a running application or as any of the
myriad of processes running... so Firefox is not running but the
Flash install for Opera9 is faulty. How do I work around this?
    Thanks, in advance, [email protected]

Solved: the typo is in the documentation.
There is a space before the jdbcutility word:
java  -classpath  newscale_adu.jar;newscale_ddlrunner.jar;newscale_drivers.jar;newscale_security.jar;castor-0.9.5.4.jar;xercesImpl.jar;xml-apis.jar;commons-logging-1.0.4.jar;newscale_core.jar; com.newscale.deployer.util.JDBCUtility  SqlServer myserver:1433;DatabaseName=RequestCenter DbNameUnused RCUser  mypass C:\sources\rex\deploy\rex.xml
It would be great if the doc is more precise, knowing that most of the install is performed by hand.

  • Why does Flash install Google Toolbar?

Why does Flash install Google Toolbar? Honestly, do you have ANY idea how annoying that behaviour is? I had no option at all to not download it, I could not stop downloading it. I was taking from a "you need to install flash" button on Facebook to the download.
Honestly things like this make me rage, installing things automatically without an option.
Until now, I used to think that it was annoying that Apple wouldn't allow flash on some of their devices. Now Adobe pulls **** like this, I'm not surprised. To hell with Flash I say.

This is a user-to-user forum, and you're "preaching to the choir" here. IT ISN'T going to change, and NO ONE from Adobe management ever sees or reads these pages. Employees are here from time to time but no one who makes these decisions participates in these forums, per company policy. (I used to work for Intuit, and we were strictly prohibitied from posting in their forums. A team leader I worked with was fired for it).
Links to the FULL installers are posted literally HUNDREDS of times each week throughout these pages by myself, and at least three others I know of, who volunteer in these pages daily.
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
I DON'T run Adobe and no one here does, so I won't even beging to discuss business ethics.
The solutions have been offered, and I recommend you update NOTHING, including your OS, automatically. I don't because I don't want junk like Ask Toolbar, Yahoo Toolbar, Bing Toolbar, Bing Desktop, Norton or McAfee on any of my nine systems.

pixelation problems occurs in my videos when using adobe flash but using chromes pepper flash no problemes so its definitely adobe problems on my WIndows 8.1

    Problem is:
Flash Player for IE11 (which is the worst browser ever developed - BAR NONE) is a Microsoft product, when it comes right down to it.
Adobe writes the base code and yes, they do collaborate on updates for it, but the gang in Redmond alter the plug-in and add "proprietary" code before embedding it, and at that point it's "their baby".
There are two (2) registry keys - 1 for 32 bit IE and the other for 64 bit IE, as well as a KB patch that prevent all but the most experienced Windows users from ever touching the Flash Player plug-in for IE. So there's NO WAY you could have done a clean install of the ActiveX plug-in in Windows 8. Unless you're an uber-geek, you can only update it through Windows Update.
WIn 8 is an abomination and IE11 made it worse. IE has always been the "problem child" of browsers, failing to handle CSS, Javascript, some PHP and most design "tweaks" that good webmasters can use with other browsers, trouble free.
I have IE8 on XP, 9 on VIsta, 11 on 7, 10 on 8 and 11 on 8.1... but they're all for testing only. I'd have to be out of my mind to ever think of using IE as my primary browser. ActiveX controls have to be disabled formost stuff and that opens millions of security holes in IE.
You've got a good video card and a decent sound card. It's a shame to waste them on a pile of garbage like IE, just because it came with Windows.

  • Flash Buttons use in a templates

The last 6 hours have been very frustrating! I have created a
.dwt file and I have used the Flash buttons provided on CS3 as
links. Prior to saving as a template, the page worked fine when I
was testing it in the browser, afer I saved as a template the flash
links are no longer being displayed when I test it in the browser.
Please some one tell me that you can help with this very dumb
    problem.
    Thanks in advance!

If you want to use Flash for navigation, consider this -
    1. Some people don't have Flash installed - what do they do?
    2. Search engines don't parse Flash links - your site will
    not be spidered
    3. Screen assistive devices don't parse Flash links - what
    will those users
    do?
    4. DW cannot maintain links within a Flash movie, so if you
    move or rename
a linked file, your navigation will break - what will you do?
It's usually a very bad idea for these reasons...
Combining Flash buttons with Templates *IS* going to be a
    very frustrating
experience for you. The best thing you can do is to make sure
    when you
insert the button you use a ROOT RELATIVE link to it. That
    way, the link
will work from any page in the site without management.

  • Default flash install on flash on adobe flex builder 3?

When I used to go to a flash page and did not have flash
installed, the installl rocked!!!! immediately prompting you to
install....no download/save as or anything, just a simple click the
install button. I remember firefox and IE both were really good.
Now, I used flex builder 3 and the default html file and alll it
does is redirect to a flash adobe site. This is one of the best
ways to LOSE customers and I would like to fix this. In our
customer testing, we noticed some would just skip the site and not
continue to look with the following pattern. In our previous
studies, clicking one install button was not a big deal....but the
redirection to the page(at least in china) is a big barrier to get
people using flash. Also, the only data we found was 80% of users
on flash 9(I don't know how accurate that data is) so this feature
is very important to us(otherwise we would not consider switching
    to GWT technology).
    thanks for any help,

    Thanks Bharat Patel,
I have already read this pdf files. but didnt get any solution.

  • Where does flash install to?

I'm trying to get this script to work, but other than /Library/Internet Plug-ins, where does flash install?
This the line of code I'm trying to use:

Anyone with scripting knowledge have any idea what this means?

    cscs_panthers,
the displayed error message is complaining about an option that isn’t present on the line of code in your post. Are you running /usr/sbin/installer somewhere else in your script? It seems as though it’s complaining about a different line of code.
