Flash installer doesn't run - plz help

I download the Flash Installer and run it, and nothing happens. It is as if the program immeditately does an exit before it gets to the good part (installation!). I do not get the installation dialog, and I do not get an installation. I have tried running it as administrator, same result.
Downloading from here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
the install file I get is: install_flashplayer11x64_mssd_aih.exe (or install_flashplayer11x64_mssd_aih.exe or install_flashplayer11x64ax_gtbp_chrd_aih.exe ... not sure why different attempts gave me a different file ... the last one was downloaded via MSIE, the others Mozilla FF)
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit)
Browser: Mozilla Firefox 11.0 (I did make one download attempt with MS Windows Internet Explorer 9.0.8112.16421 64 bit edition, same result)
I have uninstalled Flash. Actually, it seemed from the Flash debugging site that to begin with I already had the latest Flash, but Flash videos on YouTube etc were not working. So I started by trying installation (didn't work, installer didn't run), then uninstalled Flash, then tried installation again (same result). Now I have no Flash at all, and I can't install it. I have also rebooted several times and retried, no success. And I have run the installer with Firefox closed, no success.
I also just installed the Java update that Mozilla is insisting on for security reasons. That is my only guess for the initial cause of my problems, because my Flash was working yesterday (24 hours ago).

This worked for the immediate problem ... I was able to run the installer and get Flash on. THANKS!
I can confirm Flash is now reinstalled here: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html. This also confirms that it is version 11.2.202.228 for Windows 7 (64-bit).
Now, unfortunately, I am right back were I started. I have Flash, but YouTube and the Daily Show tell me I need to have Flash installed and enable JavaScript in order to watch a video. Both are true, yet I cannot play a video (and I might add, the YouTube page just looks like crap, like something from the WWW of 1994).
I now have the same video playing symptoms on both Mozilla FF and MSIE.
Could it be them not me? This all worked 24 hours ago.

Oracle Universal Installer doesn't run

I had Installed oracle 9i and Oracle 8i (firstly) on the same machine and the same drive, then I deinstall oracle9i using Oracle Universal Installer. Some months later I need to reinstall Oracle 9i but the Oracle Universal Installer doesn't run even on the Installation CD (CD_Drive:\Install\win32\setup.exe).
Can you please help me to fix that.

JVM's JIT of an old Oracle Installer version has a bug, so it crash in PIV based computers. A work around is to copy CD to hard disk and delete SYMCJIT.DLL file, and start installer again. I hope this helps.

BootCamp Installer doesn't run

Hi all, I have both a Summer 2007 MacBook Pro and an Al-iMac. When trying to install BootCamp with Windows Vista SP1 (x86) using the BC package in the Apple website (v.2.1), the installer doesn't run, just as if I haven't clicked the icon or something. It happens in both computers, and it doesn't run if I install the RC of Win7 either. It only works if I use the XP32 installer under WinXP SP3 in the iMac (in the MBP it doesn't run). I can't use the Leopard Service Disk of the iMac or the Retail copy because I lost both of them, and there's no BC in the Tiger Service Disks. Both macs use OSX 10.5.7.
Is there any way to make them run or I have to use a MSP unpacker (I have found many unpackers for the MSI format, but none compatible for MSP) to get all the drivers out of the installer? Can I install the drivers by installing the Apple Software Update and downloading the packages from there? I've tried that on Windows7 but apparently it doesn't recognize the OS's version and the BC doesn't show up.
PS: I'm not very good with English, so sorry if there's any error :P

the 2.0 drivers are only avaiable on the OSX Leopard DVDs.
IF you really have lost them (and not only misplaced them) you can call Apple and ask for a replacement.
Have the serial number of your Mac at hand and usually Apple will charge your with about USD 30 for the replacement.
Since the OSX DVD can also be sometimes vital for repairing errors of OSX you really should get a set.

my ipad is sycned with my computer but nowhere is there a link
and if I connected it with a new computer and set it to sync it would replace all my data with the data from the new computer

Oracle 8i Unserval Installer doesn't run

I have oracle 8.1.6 CD enterprise edition and Mandrake Linux 7.2. I tried to run installation by execute runInstaller script but I got an error message says that I don't have Java Runtime Environment (JRE 1.1.8 or later) install on my linux machine. However, I did have JRE 1.3 installed. I kept getting the same error message. Does any know what's going on here? I appreciate your any suggesting.

Flash Player doesn't run after installation

I have recently purchased a new iMac, and have just installed the latest Flash Player. According to the dialog box, the player was successfully installed.
However, I still cannot view pages requiring Flash Player - for example, http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/switch.edu.html - as it says I need to download Flash Player. I have confirmed that Javascript is enabled, yet I still cannot view the page. I tried reinstalling Flash Player but to no avail.

Flash Installer doesn't display anything and has to have task manager used to close it.

For a few months now I have been trying to update Flash Player, whenever I tried I would get to the installer coming up and it displaying the black background it has but no download bar or any text. I was thinking the problem may have had something to do with the version of Flash installed on my computer already, so I uninstalled thinking if I just installed the newest version there wouldn't be a problem. Now I am stuck without Flash at all on my computer and the Installer still not working. What is the solution to this?

Mac Mini (intel) don't start, power light is flashing green!!! Plz HELP!!!

Hello, yesterday i use my Mac Mini for make some Downloads, and after done i turn he off by quick press power button (i are using Windows XP PRO). Today when i try start he again, get black screen, no sound, no video, just the power led flashing green.
I try hardware reset by unpluging all cables, wait for 15 sec and plug the power cable again (without press POWER ON key), but nothing change.
I try POWER ON with +R +P Alt + Windows Keys, still not work.
I try POWER ON with Shift, Ctrl, D, X and nothing change.
The HDD is fine, because i withdrew and tested in other PC and boot fine.
If anyone has any ideas, please help.

If the power light flashes after power-up, it is very likely to be that the system is failing the power on self test, and the flashing is the way it is reporting the fault to you. If so, the system should also beep.
The power on self-test resides in the ROM of the computer. This test runs whenever the computer is turned on after being fully shut down (the power-on self-test does not run if the computer is only restarted).
If a fault is detected during the test, you will not hear a normal startup chime. Instead, the system will beep as explained below. If you experience one of these beeps, you may call your Apple Authorized Service Provider for additional troubleshooting assistance.
1 beep = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)

Flash player doesn't run in user accounts

I updated to Flash Player 12 and it runs when I am in the "Owner" account on my computer. However, it does not run when I am in a user account and it will not update directly from a user account (get "Do not have sufficient privileges" message). Is there something simple I should know to get it to run in all accounts? Using Windows Vista/IE9.

Thanks for your reply. I know this is probably pretty dumb, but could you tell me where the Flash Player "is" in order to do the Run as Administrator? When I am in a user account, it does not come up when I look at All Programs through the Start button. However, it is listed if I go through Control Panel/Programs and Features, although the Size column is blank. Does that mean it was not installed? I have the same situation (ie, it is not listed in All Programs) in the "Owner" account although the Flash Player does run fine there.

Try closing the App Store and reset yor iPad. Double tap the home button and find the App Store app. Swipe the thumbnail preview of the App Store up off the top of the screen to close it. then hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
If that doesn't work, try resetting your router. Unplug it for about 30 seconds then plug it in again.
If that fails, reset all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings. No data is lost, but all device settings have to be entered again.

Also, pay attention to John's reply. When installing any software such as the EPM suite, read the Oracle documents to ensure that your environment is certified. Even if you do manage to install on XP or a non-certified environment, you may run into issues shortly down the road and waste a lot of time trying to solve the unsolvable simply because the instructions were not followed correctly from the beginning.

WLS doesn't start, plz help!!!

I have been getting this nasty error when trying to start weblogic server through my newly created domain.
The WebLogic Server did not start up properly.
Reason: weblogic.security.SecurityInitializationException: Authentication denied: Boot identity not valid; The user name and/or password from the boot identity file (boot.properties) is not valid. The boot identity may have been changed since the boot identity file was created. Please edit and update the boot identity file with the proper values of username and password. The first time the updated boot identity file is used to start the server, these new values are encrypted.
The point is even if i alter boot.properties with the correct username and pwd (these values are the same that I used while creating the domain), I see the same error.
Any help is appreciated.

Ensure that the boot.properties file is encrypted. If not it generally means that the server is not recognizing the file. But as per the error message you are getting it should not be the case.
step1: Try copying the boot.properties to another backup location and delete the existing one. Then try to start the server which would prompt you for password. Try entering your admin password and make sure the server boots up properly.
step2: Then get the boot.properties file back and edit the information once again to add the details like:
username=weblogic
password=weblogic

Universal Installer doesn't run

I'm trying to install Oracle 10g on Win2k SP4. My problem is when I run setup it opens console window and than disappears. Javaw is staying in memory. I have the same problem with Workbench on this PC. No errors in logs. Nothing. I have JRE 1.5.0_06 (I reinstalled it twice).

I have found the solution on SUN site. I have PCAnywhere 10.5 installed. This is the reason. It makes disappear Java GUI. THanks everyone.

Tuning is a really big question. There is a reason why the documentation devotes an entire volume to the topic. Not to mention all the people that make a fine living by consulting and writing books.
The point is, it is really hard for us to solve your problem without knowing a whole lot of information about your situation. We can't just look at your query and say "aha!". Ideally you should read the Tuning Guide from start to finish, but you aren't going to do that. What you must do is read Rob Van Wijk's excellent primer When your query takes too long ....
