Flash integration in Portal?

I have a flash file called in a Publisher portlet which accesses certain parts of my code (webservices) in my remote server (WebLogic) and also portal js / styles in the image server. The flash file is located in the Imageserver. Now, since there is inter-domain communication, Flash needs a cross-domain.xml file to be served from the root of all the servers it tries to access. Could anyone tell me where all I need to place this XML? As yet, i have put it in the imageserver and weblogic (remote server) roots but this is not making things work.
Flash considers a domain as specific for a server and port. For e.g., myhost:7001 is a different domain from myhost:80. I have a feeling that since portal works on the gateway concept, I just need to put the crossdomain.xml in just one location. Am I missing anything here?

I take it that if you have port 7001 this means you are using weblogic. If for instance you have a apache server serving all your images, then you just need to make a new entry in apache for a default root directory.
I know some people use the apache weblogic plugin which tunnels requests from port 80 to port 7001 in weblogic. So this is where your problem is.

  • BI Integration in Portal (Where to configure Port, problems with km-integr)

    Hello,
I am new to BI and started to integrate BI into the portal or rather tried it.
When I open my Bex-Excel-Workbook and try to create a document (right mouse -> jump -> documents) an error occurs that the service is not reachable. This is because of an wrong port.
Could someone tell me where I can change the port that he is using when the portal is called out of excel?
Changing the port in the browser I am facing some other problems like (sorry I don't know how to translate it exactly):
Properties for the assignment couldn't be provided
Could not determinate repository for documents with this property typ
    Error during open new document-dialog
Has someone an idea how to investigate this problem? could it be because of the wrong port and where to configure the port?
    Thanks a lot,

  • Problem with Print functionality in the BI reports integrated into portal

    Hi,

    Hi Edward,
Can you clarify on your statement "You can run 3.x queries normally". I am currently declaring the bex web application string in the BW iview created in this format "infocube=0D_FI_C01&query=0D_FI_C01_Q001" and i am not defining the report template anywhere in the iview properties but still the standard template is displayed.
Pls let me know how to run 3.x queries normally.
Also i am trying to integrate only reports which are developed for BW 3.x format in BI system but still the data is not displayed.
Pls let me know incase the SP level of both EP and BI portal are to be considered for this.
EP 7 portal is on SP9 where as BI 7 is on sp12.
Also i noticed the EP portal doesn't have BI Java Addon. will this matter for displaying reports in BW 3.x format.
As you suggested workaround i tried to create a url iviews directly taking the links from the reports displayed in BI portal , i was able to preview the report but when i added those iview reports to role, the reports are constantly loading as it is trying to contact BI system. There are being loaded constantly with nothing displayed on screen.

See the following two properties under Paging:
Columns Scrolled for Each Step (BLOCK_COLUMNS_STEP_SIZE)

The values of these two properties have to be changed in the Web Template you are using for your BI Reports.

flash-integration.swc is no longer built in to utilities.swc.  It is now it's own standalone swc that needs to be packaged up as part of the SDK.  This is so Flash Builder can find the source code for the swc.
I'm also making some other changes for OSMF.  Jim is going to make the rest of them to support fat-swcs.

  • Project systems integration with portal (EP)

    Dear all,
I have to integrate the projects systems module with Portal.(EP)
In portal transactional I views can be used to create projects which can be store in the R/3.
Now the issue is to create projects with out using Transactional I views. This should be a simple entry through portal, where in the user keys in the key fields and there by the project is created and scheduled.
For this I have tried with using business packages given by SAP to integrate with portal.
Now the issue is I can display the projects that are created in R/3 through portal and display the necessary fileds required for viewing (I views). Now the main problem is to create the project using these business packages so that the same get updated in the R/3.
But business packages do not have the option of creating the project. I am using the business packages for projects 50.3.1
Has any body come across this type of issue which has to be integrated with portal and subsequent creation of projects through portal
If any body has done this in any other way please kindly share on this.
Experts please throw some pointers on this.
    Regards.
    Vara Prasad

    Hi Aman,
You may try creating transaction iViews of the desired PS Transaction.
For more help you can take help of your Portal Administrator.

  • Regd : Integration Between Portal Layer And Process Layer

    Hi Experts,
I have a query regarding the integration between Portal layer and the process layer in CE. How does the interaction happens or what is the process behind the integration of these two layers. I was going through some help documents at help.sap.com.
But from there I could not get much of information. So need your inputs on the same.
    Thanks
    Pradipta Kumar Mishra

    Hi Pradipta,
If you are referring to Guided Procedures as the "Process Layer", then you have one of the three options that I can think of:
    1) Deliver the GP processes via UWL in CE Portal
    2) Deliver the GP processes via UWL in EP (if your organization has one)
    3) Delvier the GP processes via GP Runtime in CE Portal
Of the three mentioned above, option 2 is preferred since your business users get to access their tasks via a single interface. But you need a EP. If that's not the case, I would suggest Option 1. For integrating GP and UWL, please refer to following link.

  • How to use PPM 5 (standalone or integrated with portal)

    Hi,
I would like to know which advantages and disadvantages are presented by using PPM 5.0 standalone or integrated with portal? all functionality are the same in both cases? which is the best option?
    Thanks a lot,
    CAMILO URIBE

    Hi,
from a functionality point of view, standalone and portal usage of SAP Portfolio and Project Management 5.0 are the same (except functionality which is in general only available within a portal, e.g. KM documents, collaboration rooms, etc.).
From a TCO perspective, for the standalone usage you'll only need the ABAP stack (except for ADS), i.e. if you don't anyway already have a portal in use in your company, this could lead to a lower TCO.
    Kind regards,
       Florian

  • Discoverer PLUS integration in Portal

    Hi,
I know that Discoverer viewer can be integrated within Portal fairly easily. But, i wanted to know how to integrate Discoverer Plus (witch offers more options) within Portal. Did anyone attempt that successfully? And how?
    Best regards

we have tried integrating 1 sample application in portal by creating a BSP iview and it took some features of portal theme.\
I hope if we could change the whole portal theme through theme editor, all the CRM applications will take portal theme.
we will just integrate the first page of webclient with the portal through BSP iview. is this approach correct or I am missing something.
    regards,

  • Fireworks/Flash Integration Not Useful

I’ve begun experimenting with Fireworks and the vaunted
integration between FW & Flash seems to be mostly hype.
(I’m speaking of the big deal Adobe makes about it in the CS3
Video Workshop.) So far I’m finding that the limitations of
what can be transported through round-trips between the two apps
render the purported integration largely useless.
Some of the most useful effects, like those commonly applied
in the provided Styles, don’t survive the import into Flash.
E.g., for Plastic Button 009 the Hue/Saturation filter
doesn’t make it into Flash. Without the HS filter, you
don’t get any color in Flash.
And even when the needed visual properties do make it intact,
the update mechanism doesn’t seem to work. For example, I
created a new FW file, drew a rounded rectangle and applied the
Chrome Reflective 006 Style and saved the file. I imported it into
the Flash library choosing the maintain appearance options. I then
went back into FW and applied the Chrome Misc 003 style and saved.
Then, in Flash I right-clicked on the bitmap in the library and
chose Update but when I clicked the Update button it just said 0 of
1 items updated and displayed a little question mark. I’ve
had similar problems importing PSD files/layers into Flash and
    trying to update.
I tried another test, this time choosing the “keep all
paths editable” option when importing into Flash. However,
this lost some of the desired effects and didn’t even provide
the option to update (grayed out).
So, as far as I can tell, I have to create each image as a
separate file in FW and then just import it as a regular GIF or
JPEG into Flash. FW can still be useful as it provides some nice
styles, gradients, textures and other features that can help in
creating web graphics. But integration with Flash seems to be all
but non-existent. Am I missing something??
    David Salahi

I love Fireworks + Flash integration, it's what originally
got me using Fireworks, actually. But there are some bumps that you
need to be familiar with, as you've found. It also takes some
understanding of the Flash platform and how it differs from the
freedoms you get in Fireworks, so hopefully I can help there:
Filters - Yep, Flash only supports a small subset of filters.
This might change in the future with the announcement of
    Hydra/Pixel
Bender, which is really exciting, but for now you are stuck
with only a few filters in Flash. Open up Flash and get familiar
with them. And be glad we aren't having this conversation a few
version ago, when there were no filters at all! Once you are
familiar with the filters and blendmodes that Flash has, when you
are working in Fireworks and intend to go to Flash, remember what
filters you can use. The rest will have to be avoided or flattened
before importing into Flash. Yes, it's technology limiting your
creative freedom, I hate that, but if you understand the limits you
can still push it very far. BTW, Hue/Saturation actually does make
it from FW to FL for me.
The Update option is really intended for Bitmaps linked to an
external bitmap image file, like JPGs or GIFs. When you went to
update your bitmap you probably noticed that the Path field was
blank -- this is because Flash doesn't have it linked to an image
file, and it can't pull it out of a PNG source file. That would be
a really nice feature, and one I've requested:
    http://adobe.com/go/wish/
When you choose "keep all paths editable" then all filters
and effects you used which are not supported in Flash are stripped
out. There are other features which Fireworks has that Flash does
not, like pattern/texture fills, some of the gradients, etc. They
all don't exist in Flash so they don't come through. Again this all
comes back to understanding what Flash can do, and making sure your
    Fireworks design is compatible.
Sounds like you had a jarring experience trying to integrate
between FW and Flash, but the problem is understanding the huge
difference between what you get on Flash's canvas and Firework's
canvas. Flash is generally limited. The reason Flash is limited is
because it's a runtime canvas optimized for web. When you make
something in Fireworks you have unlimited freedom because in the
end you'll just export to a static pixel image. But in Flash, you
are dealing with a whole different beast -- interaction. The Flash
canvas is rendered at runtime... you can think of the Flash Player
as fulfilling the role of Fireworks running in the browser, so of
course it has to be in a much smaller scale.
Anyway, once you get used to how Flash works and how that
differs from Fireworks, integration will make a lot more sense. The
way you describe of exporting each graphic/layer as a separate JPG
and importing is basically the way it used to have to be done with
Photoshop, but I definitely recommend trying to get familiar with
how Flash works and getting a hang of the design to import process
    of Fireworks to Flash.
In case it helps, here's my workflow of Fireworks to Flash (I
create a lot of Flash content so this is very battle tested for
    me):
    1) Design in Fireworks, with both knowledge of what Flash can
do, and a bit of reckless abandon because I'm a designer, I'll make
it look the way I want even if it takes extra work in Flash ;)
    2) Once the design is final, I create a duplicate Fireworks
    page
    3) I go through my design and make it as Flash compatible as
possible. This means flattening anything that needs to be
flattened, sometimes converting text to paths, redoing some
    graphics in vector, etc
    4) Import into Flash
    5) Cleanup anything that didn't come through right. At this
point it's just small stuff, like dotted strokes come through
solid, so I have to make them dotted again
    6) Animate or rig up with ActionScript
    7) For small changes, I make my change in Fireworks, then I
copy/paste only the changed elements back into Flash and replace
    them
    Hope that helps. Good luck!

  • Creating Alias for any application which has been integrated into portal

    Hi All,
How to create Alias for any application which has been integrated into Portal?
    What is portal alias?
    What is URL alias?
What is the difference between all the three?
    Thanks,
    Jyothi.

    Hi jyothi,
    1. For your first question Regarding How to create Alias for any application which has been integrated into Portal? Can you please be more clear here my question is why do you need to create alias for applications that are integrated into the portal.
    2. For your second and third questions find the below links
