Flash player saying installed but doesnt work

i have a toshiba laptop with internet explorer 6 and its an
xp machine
basically some websites that need flash redirect me to the
adobe flash player site and i click install and it installs.
then an animation plays when its successfully installed
but then when i go back to the website that requires
flash...flash doesnt work!
im going crazzy now cos no-one knows what to do.
any suggestions. any???? xx

Well, first of all you might want to get IE7. Just go to
filehippo.com. In any case, go to start>control
panel>internet options. Go to the security tab and set the
internet zone to default>apply. Then go to the privacy tab and
click on sites. Make sure the website is allowed to set cookies.
Then set the cookie slider to medium or medium-high. This internet
options screen is different for IE6 and IE7, so your buttons may
vary slightly from mine since I have IE7. Really, IE7 is better in
my opinion and your favorites will carry over.

IE9 Flash thinks its installed but doesnt work cannot reinstall or manually uninstall

I have a user has admin rights proper registry settings and Flash works in Firefox and other browsers but not IE9
If i try to uninstall manually it removes all of flash try reinstalling IE 9 flash I get failed to register.
If i goto a flash page in IE9 i get no error just an empty box where the flash item should be. if i right click i get flash like settings just greyed out?
I have tried a new widnows profile to rule out corruption. (Happens on all user profiles)
Checked Admin Rights (OK)
Checked Registry Permissions (OK)
Realplayer is not installed
Firefox And chrome work with flash fine and the plugin installs for them.
I have tried using the adobe flash uninstall method ff and chrome work again but not IE9
Any adobe admins can you help me out?

Ok Update I finally got it to install but up every reboot it dissapears from IE
The other thing that is wierd is if i toggle active x filtering on and refresh a page it works for a brief period in some elements but then if i goto youtube i get white frames and such?

Adobe download doesnt work for either plug ins or not

No messages come up. all i see is an icon that spins showing something happened. i have error messages in my error console and i dont know how to screen shot, dispute the how to do it page. all i can do is cut and paste ...Warning: Unknown property 'box-shadow'. Declaration dropped.

Installation of flash was successful - but it doesnt work

I have unistalled and reinstalled flash for my mac multiple times. Every time I try to do my homework, it still says i have 'blocked plug ins' and wants me to download the latest version, which I already have. I made sure that I have my antivirus disabled and popups are not blocked. I do not understand why this is refusing to work.

Can you check to see if you have "enable plug-ins" checked in Safari's preferences dialog, under the security tab? If not, enable it and check.
It seems to be a browser specific issue. Try a different browser like chrome or firefox, it should work.
For fixing IE or Safari, lets follow below suggestions :
Run the Flash Player Uninstaller as applicable for your machine(i.e.Windows or MAC) and remove flash player.
For MAC : http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html
For Windows : http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
Restart the machine.
Download and Re-install Flash Player.
Restart the browser and check.

Oracle Personal 9i for XP download doesnt work

When I download any of the Oracle Personal 9i files to my drive and try to open them I get a "Cannot Open File, It doesnt Appear to be a valid archive" error. I tried opening the file on win2000 and winxp operating systems with WinZip installed and get the same error.

Are you getting the complete file when downloading? i.e. the filesize on your disk matches the size listed on OTN.

Flash lite 3 Mobile Video

I just came back from the DoCoMo testing center and tested
flash lite 3. It doesnt work.
I tested it on the "Adobe Device Central CS3" and i can see
the video and hear the sound, but when i tested it on the new
phones, it doesnt appear. It streams from the internet (no
downloading app) but it doesnt show.
Wished that "someone" could get this damn emulator right so i
dont have to waste company money going to the testing center to
find out the reality of the emulators capabilities. Flash Lite 3
enabled phones will be released soon in Japan and there are no
companies that are that prepared for this. So the point of flash
lite 3 is......what!?

I have a MacBookPro. When try to do a video call on facebook. The video camra doesnt work. the screen breaks and you can only hear some things. I update adobe flash so it has the latest verion. do u know wat going on ?

i have a mac pro. when i try to connet to a vedio call. the call doesnt connet. the person on the other side can see me but i cant see them. i updated the new version for adobe flash. but the camra stiil doesnt work.

Hi Morten,
First you will need to be proficient (but not expert) in 3
technologies, databases (eg MySQL), server scripting (eg PHP) and
Flash Lite.
Then in MySQL, you set up the database to store the data.
Write a PHP script to read the data in the database, then parse and
'print' that data into name>value (eg
&variable1=data1&variable2=data2) pairs which Flash Lite
can then read as variables and values. Then you need to use
loadVars() in Flash Lite to read the name>value pairs from the
PHP script.
Thats it in its basics, there are more detailed examples in
the
Adobe Mobile and
Devices Developer Center.

This is super weird, particularly because the ActiveX (for Internet Explorer), NPAPI (for Firefox) and PPAPI (for Chrome) browsers are all pretty different. This is definitely not the normal pattern.
Does *any* Flash content work? Maybe something old like http://www.homestarrunner.com? My guess is that it doesn't.
I definitely need some more clues:
- Operating System and Version
- Browsers and Versions
- Any anti-virus/anti-malware/firewall/save-flash-video-to-disk kind of stuff installed?
- Any JavaScript blockers or privacy plug-ins that might block JavaScript from executing?
My gut feel says reboot, Uninstall Flash Player | Windows, then download a fresh copy of Flash Player for Firefox and Internet Explorer by using each browser to go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer.

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 4.

Flash player doesnt work for IE (64 bit) - for me anyway

ive got windows 7 (64bit) and in a recent up date i believe internet explorer (64bit) downloaded, it works fine except flash player doesnt at all, no updates i download make it work either
but then i switched back to using the normal IE and everything works fine
how do i solve this problem?

Hi, well since Adobe Flash Player doesn't support the 64bit, you need to use the 32bit browser. This is the default on Win7/IE8 systems. Go up to Help, About Internet Explorer and if you see x86, you are using the 32bit.
Also you need to use the 32bit browser when Installing Flash Player and to view Flash.

SAFARI 4 FLASH PLUGIN DOESNT WORK

hi i have safari 4 on my ibook and the flash plugin doesnt work, i have flash 10 and i downloaded twice yet everytime i try to use something that uses flash it tells me to download flash 10 but i do have it!!! any tips would be helpful. oh yeah plugins are enabled in the preferences.

you may have the wrong version of the plugin (10.1-10.3). try going to the site & redownload the installer again. get the 10.4-10.5 version.
