Flash lite 2 on symbian os 9.1 series 60 v.3

sorry for my english.
Would it be possible to run flash lite 2 player on symbian os
9.1 series 60 v.3 in future?
I have Nokia E60 and i want to develop flash lite 2
aplications for it. When it will be possible?

Ciao
all Nokia 3rd edition have Flash Lite 1.1 embedded so they
currently do not support FL2.
Nokia will release FL2 on the 3rd edition feature pack
1models, probably next year.

  • Quality and performance degradation when standalone Flash Lite has been sent to back

    Hi forum,
I'm new to Flash Lite 4 on Symbian 3, I want to start working on a new app and am currently deciding if Flash Lite 4 is a good choice. I have just ran into my first problem: When I send my native Flash Lite 4 app (either running from an swf or started from a c++ stub --which obviously does the same, but I thought I should try it--) to the background (because f.i. a call comes in), and it comes back, the screen quality has degraded (as seen in textfields, it looks as if stage quality has gone to MEDIUM), the app runs more choppily, and, even worse, things drawn with the drawing API are drawn in a different way! (???) Line caps & miter settings appear to be lost. This is on a Nokia C7-00.
This probably has to do with the new performance optimizations in mobile flash, but is there any way to avoid this, or to reset my flash lite app to "normal" state? Is there an event I can listen to?
    Thanks in advance,
    Bas Horsting

  • N97 Mini Flash Lite Problem

Hey Guys, what happened with me maybe a minor issue but i wanna know how to solve it.
Here's what happened with my N97 mini: I had the flash lite 3.0 installed, so I downloaded The flash lite 3.1(4) from a link i found on Google. Now, when I go to youtube.com  on the default symbian browser,  I get the first "frame" of the video with sound but without the video; only first "frame" of the video appears. When I tap on the video for Fullscreen the web browser closes by itself and it shows to the homescreen, and something really weird happens: when i hide the widgets and show them again, it does it like i have the theme effects off.. but when i go to theme settings, its actually theme effects on. And it doesnt do the effects again untill i turn my phone off and then turn it on.
On the other hand, I guess this flash lite issue is causing a problem on video playback in realplayer. When I record a video with the camera and play it back, it does it without any problem and the file format is MP4. Though, when i send an MP4 video from my pc to the phone, the playback shows no picture.. just the sound.
Im sorry If I said too much, but i said everything that happened because i wanna know if its really the flash lite's problem.. or its something else?
And either way, whats the solution!? Please Guys I need ur help

A software update shouldn't cause a problem as the phone has data protection, just to be safe back up your contacts, but the phone should be fine anyway, simply re-install the software with Nokia Software Updater, and hoprfuly it will resolve your problem, if not , contact a Nokia Care Point, whatever the case , the phone definitely won't be any worse for a software install.
    Good Luck

  • Flash 10.1 makes Flash Lite redundant?

    Hi everyone.
I've been researching ways to create content for mobile devices.
It seems Flash Lite is a really good option to make both rich applications (stand-alone and internet) for mobile phones specifically.
Flash Lite is what I am developing with right now and I can distribute applications to Windows Mobile and Symbian devices.
Now I've read that Flash 10.1 will be on nearly every new phone out there soon (except iPhone, but who cares).
Does that mean we can develop in Flash (with AS3) for stand-alone applications as well (instead of Flash Lite)?
I've never found any real answers to my questions when I browse the internet about stand-alone applications, a lot seems to be focused on internet applications.
Basically I want to try and figure out what the best method of development would be to create stand-alone applications for mobile phones (any phone except iPhone, although it would be a plus if iPhone could be included ofcourse).
The Openscreenproject is awesome and hopefully leads to a standard (probably including Flash player).
Another thing I found is project Capuchin, where Flash and Java work together to create rich applications.
Flex and AIR look interesting, but will they be interesting enough for mobile development (in the future)?
So to sum it up in a single question:
If I want to develop stand-alone applications and target as many devices as possible, what should I be using now and what should I be using in the near future?
Hope to get some reactions, this is part of my graduation thesis and I'm drawing a blank.
    Thanks in advance.
    ~ Dennis.

The only phone operating system that I have seen confirmed for flash 10.1 so far has been WebOS. I know there have been rumors for android but havent seen anything confirming it yet for sure. I think it will be a wait and see type of situation to see how phones are going to work with flash. I see it coming when new cell phones come out with those faster processors (snapdragon) so they will actually be able to support it. Unforutanely though theres barely any of those phones out right now other than T-mobiles HD2 and its android twin the Sprint EVO. I think the iphone doesnt want flash because it will lose revenue if those applications are available through places other than its app store.

  • Flash Lite 2.1 install on Nokia E50

Just did a Flash Lite 2.1 install on Nokia E50 after I
downloaded flashlite2_1_symbian_s60V3 and it installed apparently
fine with Nokia installer. However any .swf with test content
published to Device Central gets a corrupted file message after I
try run the .swf on the E50. The docs say the E50 should be
supported by this Flashlite version above.
    Any ideas?
    thanks

    Alessandro,
Yes, I see now another Flash Lite 2.1 player installed not
under media but under menu. Starting it allows me to browse my
Flash Lite 2.1 files and they display fine.
Next up, I must try to get Flash Lite 3, but developer
    applications for Flash Lite 3
have closed afaik. Does anybody know where/when/if/how a
Symbian edition Flash Lite 3 player can be got to test on a Flash
    Lite 2.1 player phone?
    thanks again!

    Help...please.Thanks

    Hello there,
I am have a similar kind of problem. I am trying to run a video on Pocket PC (WM5) using video.play() method on FlashLite 2.1. It works fine in Device Central and my Nokia mobile (symbian OS with default FlashLite 2.1). Video is obviously embedded in FlashLite 2.1 and was originally in *.3gp format.

  • Fscommand2 "shuts down" flash lite player 2.1 in S60 3rd Edition

    Hello.
I am having the following problem in nokia phones S60 3rd
    edition:
when I have a j2me midlet running in the background and open
a swf that executes: fscommand2("GetSignalLevel") it automatically
closes the flash lite player. This has happened in phones that come
with the 1.1 player but that I have installed 2.1 and confirmed
that the swf was running in the 2.1 player. I also tried other
fscommand2 and they worked well (GetMaxSignalLevel, GetBatteryLevel
    and GetMaxBatteryLevel).
Is this a known problem? Does it have a solution?
    Thanks in advance

    Ciao Pieter,
in few days Adobe will release for free the FL 2.1 player to
developers for several platforms, Brew, Windows Mobile 5 and
Symbian, which includes 3rd edition. As far as the type of player,
    is probably the standalone.

  • HP iPAQ with flash lite compatibility

I'm thinking of purchasing an HP iPAQ for the purpose of
maybe adapting a SWF app to work with this phone/pda device. This
device comes with Windows Mobile 5 For Pocket PC Phone Edition, I
was wondering if anyone knows if this OS is compatible with Flash
Lite. I know that Windows Mobile 5 is, but I wanted ot make sure
the phone edition was as well, the Flash Lite section of this web
site does not mention this OS version.... and when it comes to OS's
    I trust nothing!!
If anyone can provide any inpute, I would apreciate it!!!
    Carlos

Flash lite 3,0 and 3,1 are based on Flash 8, for most of sites you have to have version 9 or earlier...
With Flash lite 3 you can browse only sites like youtube, which has special player version for these phones. (and work only on s60v3, on s60v5 you have to use app)
Flash lite 4 s based on Flash 10. Unfortunately, Flash lite 4 supports only new Nokia Symbian^3 and some Android devices. Browsing web with Flash lite 4 is much better and you can open about 90% flash content... But, it will probably never be avaliable for older (s60v3 and v5) smartphones.

  • Flash Lite applications event handling

    Hi
i am new to flash lite. I am basically a J2ME person.I just want to know how this scenario is handled in device.
Flash application is running in the foreground on a Windows mobile device. Suddenly, another application becomes foreground say a call comes then how it will be handled??. Will the flash application knows this information? In midlet we have something like hidenotify shownotify how we can handle this in flashlite ??

    Hi,
If you're coming from the J2ME world, you'll be disapointed about Flash Lite Capabilities as regards the operating system.
Flash Lite is running in a virtual machine as you know, but unlike Java, only few methods are available to deal with operating system data/events.
"Suddenly, another application becomes foreground say a call comes then how it will be handled??"
As you know Flash was design to run "graphic animations", when Flash Player is put to background, the animation is simply paused.
However, I believe actionscript code is still processed even in background.
"Will the flash application knows this information?"
    No way
"In midlet we have something like hidenotify shownotify how we can handle this in flashlite ??"
According to the OS you're using, Windows Mobile or Symbian, you can combine Flash Lite with plugins ...
The basic method is often to communicate with a local server running in dotnet or java and processing operating systems data/events.
    Check :
Janus-Flash (dead project I think) for Windows Mobile
    Kunerilite for Symbian
Wait Flash Player 10.1 for mobile devices... along with AIR port, Adobe might offer more OS data/event handling in the Flash Player.

  • Flash Lite 2 component:XML List Box Lite for Dynamic Flash Lite 2 application

XML ListBox Lite is the Flash Lite UI component lets you
create XML driven dynamic lists for your Flash Lite 2 mobile
    applications!
XML ListBox Lite is a Flash component for Flash Lite 2.0
application development for mobile phones. Creating a lightweight
dynamic list box for Flash Lite application becomes as easy as a
snap using this component. Now no more the Flash Lite application
developers need to be worried about creating dynamically populated
list box that will work on nearly every symbian series 60 models
    which support Flash Lite 2.0.
XML ListBox Lite comes handy when you plan to create a
dynamic list which is populated with the data sourced from a simple
XML file , such creating a play list for your Flash Lite MP3 Player
application, creating a list for a shopping catalogue etc.
XML ListBoxLite is a complete solutions for creating
customized xml driven dynamic lists in Flash Lite 2 mobile
    application development.
The basic features of the component are:
Create Unlimited Number of Tabs: XML ListBoxLite can populate
any number of tabs and provides proper visualization and navigation
    of these tabs.
Fully Functional Scrollbars: The scrollbars position ratio is
auto adjusted by the number of tabs that appear in the list, which
gives the users whether any tabs are left in the list to scroll.
Display Tabs as per needs: This list component allows you to
display any number of tabs from the range of 8, 4, 2 and 1, at any
instance. This serves the need for example when you have more text
to display you can choose 4 or 2 tabs so that you need not
    compromise on the content side.
Customize the Look and Feel: You can set any color as
parameters for different elements of this list component so that it
    will fit your application seamlessly.
Virtually zero time to implement: This component does not
require any extra programming in FlashLite 2.0 Action script to
display your contents. Just update the xml list and it is ready for
    use.
Lightweight and User friendly: XMLListBoxLite offers you
great glossy look and advanced features within just 17 KB . The
    user experience is also magnetic.

  • N95 Flash Lite Upgrade

It seems that Adobe has released an upgrade to Flash Lite for Symbian. My N95 came with Flash Lite 2.0. The latest version from Adobe is 2.1.
When I try to install Flash Lite 2.1 on my N95, I get an error saying 'Unable to install. Component is built-in.'
Does anyone know how to upgrade Flash Lite on N95?
It would be nice to have the latest and greatest versions/patches.

    Hi helpme
Presumably as phone software is updated then later versions will be incorporated!
Happy to have helped forum in a small way with a Support Ratio = 37.0

No it won't be.....Currently Belle running phones have same old flash lite 4.1 which is the same version since inception of symbian^3 last year
