Flash Lite 4 features

Hello guys,
I was asking to myself why FL4 doesn't have some features, such as Pixel Bender. For example, the N8 device from Nokia has a GPU and using pixel bender (and pure filters) would be great to improve the visual appeal of the application, or maybe workaround about single thread model of Flash. I'm realising the use of Box2D too.
Best regards,

After installing flsh lite, my web browser still asks for installing latest version when some flash page is loading.

  • Flash Lite 3.1 features

    From:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/devices/articles/device_central_fl_updates.html
"Flash Lite 3.1 provides improved web browsing on mobile
devices. It also includes support for H.264 video, video smoothing
and deblocking, and additional ActionScript APIs for image
    manipulation."
When will we be seeing those features on a phone with
    3.1?

I believe you can download Flash Lite 3.1 via software update using your phone (firmware update over air).  Applicable charges may apply by your network provider or via WLAN.

  • Supported FMS features in Flash Lite?

    hi,
I've just learned that Flash Lite does not support Remote SharedObjects with Flash Media Server (FMS). Is that correct?
If so, are there any other non-supported features when it comes to FMS and Flash Lite? Can we use a NetConnection.call for example?
    thanks,
    Stefan

    Answering my own queries here.
All is not lost! I managed to get a nc.call from client to server working and also returned a value back from FMS to the FL client. So Mark, you are wrong   nc.call does work after all. However what I really need is a server push, a client.call from FMS to FL. That I have so far not managed to do. If I am stuck with client to server calls then I need some sort of polling system, which I guess is ok but it will cause some unnecessary data traffic. Push would be much neater.
I also have not yet managed to play a live stream successfully, but I am quitely confident that that can be done - I've seen it done.
    Cheers,
    Stefan

  • Getting Big Headache, What is difference between Flash Lite 3.1 and Flash Player 7

Hello, I am asking questions about the two similar yet different programs for Pocket PC version only:
    1) Which came first, Flash Lite 3.1 or Flash Player 7?
    2) If I have both in my Pocket PC, will there be product incompatibility?
    3) What is the difference between Flash Lite 3.1 and Flash Player 7.
    4) I have a Flash Lite 3.1 but uninstall information says "Flash Lite 3.1 for Opera Mobile", did you releaase this? Is this an illegal copy? A developer's copy?
*I don't know exactly where I got it, but I got it from the HTC developer's forum: XDA-developers.com
*I also use Opera mobile, a web browser for Pocket PC's.
    5) What is difference between Flash Lite 3.1 and Flash Lite 3.1 for Opera? Is the only difference is that Flash Lite Supports everything flash related, while Flash Lite Opera supports only flash in opera?
Hi, I don't expect all answers, but I hope someone or someone from adobe support can clear some things up for me.

The program under my "remove programs" list is specifically called "Adobe Flash Lite for Opera". The XDA forums people said along time ago that it was Flash Lite, and kept calling it Flash Lite, and not Flash Player 7.
    Now what about this:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashlite/version/
The table shows the differences between FP 7 SDK, FL 2.1, and FL 3.1. And it's quite obvious that FL 3.1 has way more features than Flash Player 7. What does SDK mean? And why are you telling me FP 7 has more features?
With this information, can you or anyone else provide any more details and clarification?

  • Device caching with Flash Lite

Hi, could anyone give me some info on content caching when
using Flash Lite on a device?
I have some swf's that sit on a server and are loaded by a
client.swf that sits on my Nokia N70. Each of the swf's from the
server use shared fonts that reside within a fonts.swf file that
    also sits on the server.
Does anyone know if fonts.swf is cached on my device after
it's first loaded, or does the Flash player reload fonts.swf each
time a new .swf that requires it is loaded?
I had thought that if caching doesn't take place, then I
could possibly keep fonts.swf stored locally on my device and have
each of the remote swf's simply use the local copy of fonts.swf for
faster access. Is this possible? And if so, how would I point the
URL property for each shared font back to my local device?
    Thanks.
    C

    hi,
FL currently does not feature this option. one thing you can
use is Flyer, which is a PyS60 application to help FL developers
    extend thier FL apps.
you can also add any additional features in Flyer.

    Ciao
1 - Flash Video will be supported in Flash Lite 3, due mid
year and probably on phones by the end of the year
2 - Available to develoeprs: it means that you can download a
FL player for that phone from Adobe
Available to Consumer: it means that the phone is FL enabled,
the player is already integrated on the phone OS
3 - the 6630 supports FL player, which means that you can
install the FL player provided by Adobe. So it's not really your
target device do commercial FL content. Target devices are the one
that are FL enabled. You cannot set the FL content as screensaver
in the 6630. Nokia S40 have that feature. But you cna for sure
    develop screensavers and wallpapers.

  • Flash Lite - Automatic playback of SWF-files within MMS

    Dear flash communty,
I've the problem that SWF-files doesn't play automatically when  I open the MMS I received. I tried to solve the problem with SMIL files, but it  seams that the Flash Lite player doesn't support these scripts. Does anyone of  you know anything else to solve the problem? Is there another way to implement  this feature?
    Greetings,
    Noctem

We have been working with one of our customers on delivering
an on line sales tool using the Adobe Connect environment. They for
the usual legal reasons wished to use a sales aid they had already
created. This was a flash based CD-rom with various flash movies
    initiated by rollovers and buttons.
    But there was two problems:
    1. The index would not work i.e. the menu page appeared but
the subsequent movies and animations could not be found
    2. The click throughs and rollovers would not synchronizes,
i.e. if the presenter moved forward through the presentation the
    participants did not.
Both of these obviously make it useless.
After over three weeks of R&D we (David Kwaw , Steve
Grovenor and J ) have developed a bespoke piece of programing,
    based on Sync SWF
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/acrobatconnect/articles/basic_syncswf_pt1.html
That solves this issue, we have since refined the coding so
that ONLY the presenter has control of the flash presentation,
making it more like Adobe Presenter just ALOT more flexible and
    better looking.
If you would like to know more... just drop us a line.

  • Access to Samsung Omnia Accelerometer and Microphone with Flash Lite?

    Hello everybody,

    - Is it possible to capture audio from Omnia microphone, through our flash lite app?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
At this time we do not support these features with Flash Lite, we're working on it though!

  • Querying a Flash Lite content type running in the player

In the current Flash Lite specs, it's not possible to query
    the content
type that is running from within the Flash Lite player
    (wallpaper,
    screensaver, standalone, etc).
    My questions:
1.) Is this something that can be (easily) implemented in the
    next rev
of Flash Lite? I can think of a few use cases where this
    might be
    (potentially) useful.
Basically, this would allow for a detect mechanism, and thus
    provide a
way to disable or enable functionality within content based
    on how it is
being run (based on the content-type detected).
For example, if FL content is run as a screensaver, no custom
    softkey
navigation would appear. However, if run as standalone
    content, a custom
UI might appear ... say giving the user the option to quit,
    get more
    info, etc.
I am posting here to see if others would be interested in
    such
    functionality.
2.) From my tests, I don't think the FL content type is
    inserted into
the Flash Lite SWF header, but can it be? Injecting meta data
    into SWF's
is tricky business ... does it make sense to add this
    functionality in
the next rev of Flash Lite? ... again, this info might be
    useful in some
content use cases, which tie back to #1.
    Thoughts?
    -sj

I could see some strong potential FL improvements by opening
this door. This could be very useful in the sense that developers
could then #include a single .as file that would act as a master
    library regardless of content type.
Another feature that ties into this that I would love would
be FL version detection. Granted, this file could sort of be
created with FS2 command detection. But still, creating one library
file that covers all user input methods would be very nice.
To take this a step further, could this also detect what
edition a phone is? Again, this could be done with via a
WURFL, but that is a huge
pain (not to mention memory intensive). It would be sweet if my
code could (simply) detect a 3rd edition series 60 Nokia and
automatically build in controls for screen rotation and soft key
    repositioning.
To sum up, I agree with you Scott. Btw—nice to see you
    in the forums.

  • Photo editing software using Flash Lite

Hi all, I had been searching for an answer to this question
for quite some time and did not find any. Please help. Is it
possible to create a photo editing software using Flash Lite for
Nokia devices? Am expecting features such as brightness, contrast,
cropping, save and load function, etc... I am not expecting to
create it myself, but outsourcing the development.
If you know of any good development house, please let me
    know.

I've used GIMP for years, which is a powerful photo editing program.

  • Newbe Flash Lite 2.0 developer

    Hey
I just bought a new phone, a nokia 6110 and saw that it had
Flash Lite 2.0 pre-installed. I have done some Flash development
before in Flex for as3.0. I have been reading up on Flash Lite 2.0
and it seams like it's equal to Flash 7? Also when the new Flash
Lite 3.0 is released is it gonna work on my phone?
Can I develop for Flash lite by just using as2.0 in the Flex
IDE or do I have to get and use Adobe Flash CS3? Is there a free
compiler than can compile for Flash Lite 2.0, similar to the free
    Flex SDK?
    Thanks
    Zarathrusta

Flash Lite 2.0 is close to Flash 7 but not quite all features
(no FLV for example). Flash Lite also has a number of features
unique to mobile that are not part of the desktop PC player such as
device integration (fscommand2) and device video/sound.
A public beta developer version of Flash Lite 3.0 is
currently available for Nokia series 60 v3 phones only. I dont
recall the OS for 6110, you can check forum.nokia.com to find out
if this is a series 60 phone or not.
You can use any software tool that compiles to Flash 7
compatible SWF and run the SWF in the Flash Lite player. However,
there are special features of Flash Lite you can only develop for
using the Flash IDE. To my knowledge these are not yet part of
    FlexIDE and other free compilers.
So if you want to experiment you should be able to use
FlexIDE and compile to Flash 7 or lower for compatibility with
Flash Lite 2.0 player. But for a commercial level releases you
should consider using the Flash Lite IDE and Device Central for
    emulation and publishing.

  • Flash lite player 3.1

    Hi all,
I am very impressed by the new flash lite player. I can't
wait to start some tests, etc.
But, I have Flash CS4 and... where can I get the player for
my Nokia ? All the download links I found are for:
Flash Lite 3.0 Update for Flash CS3 Pro and Device Central
    CS3, etc.
But where is the player itself ?
I want to install it on my Nokia 7610... where ?
    Thanks for your answers

    @
    Fenryll
    Here's the player itself:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/distributableplayer.html
The last link at the bottom is the one for the Flash Lite 3.1
    Distributable Player for Nokia S60.
    dannyochjr_06
    There's no such thing.
Some S40 Nokia devices have a Flash Player built-in; however
the only way to update it is doing a Firmware Update.
In some devices you can do it yourself (as long as you have
the data cable); for older devices you'll need to take it to a
Nokia Care (Service Center) and they'll do it for you. Keep in mind
that Firmware Update does not necessarily updates the Flash Player
in your device. Also, if your device does not have the Flash
Player, then most likely a firmware update will not add such
    feature.

  • Flash Lite Mobile Deployment

    Hi
New to authoring in Flash CS3 Pro and Flash Lite, I would
appreciate information about deploying a Flash Lite 2x SWF from my
web site to an end user's cell phone. This would assume that the
cell phone would have a Flash Lite 2.1 player installed, therefore
    able to view Flash.
I've heard of WAP but am not knowledgeable about its use,
other than to know that some of the free WAP server side programs
like Wap2Go require the ability to use PHP on the web site. My site
uses a Windows server (IIS, version 5) and the ISP does not allow
PHP, instead requiring scripting in ASP. I'm not familiar with ASP,
so, the best arrangement for deploying from my site would be to not
    need WAP.
Can most Flash Lite enabled cell phones simply download a SWF
file from a site without need for WAP? Or will deplying Flash to
cell phones depend on getting WAP to work on my site. (I think that
Brew will be too costly an option for me since expenses begin at
$400 and these files are planned as give-away's.)
Any ideas, information will be appreciated.
    Kind Regards,
    saratogacoach

I think flash lite 1.0 and 1.1 support this feature. you can

  • Flash Lite 2 component:XML List Box Lite for Dynamic Flash Lite 2 application

XML ListBox Lite is the Flash Lite UI component lets you
create XML driven dynamic lists for your Flash Lite 2 mobile
    applications!
XML ListBox Lite is a Flash component for Flash Lite 2.0
application development for mobile phones. Creating a lightweight
dynamic list box for Flash Lite application becomes as easy as a
snap using this component. Now no more the Flash Lite application
developers need to be worried about creating dynamically populated
list box that will work on nearly every symbian series 60 models
    which support Flash Lite 2.0.
XML ListBox Lite comes handy when you plan to create a
dynamic list which is populated with the data sourced from a simple
XML file , such creating a play list for your Flash Lite MP3 Player
application, creating a list for a shopping catalogue etc.
XML ListBoxLite is a complete solutions for creating
customized xml driven dynamic lists in Flash Lite 2 mobile
    application development.
The basic features of the component are:
Create Unlimited Number of Tabs: XML ListBoxLite can populate

  • Flash Lite 2.1 Overview

I've used Flash Lite for a time.
I would like to thank you for this product, now I am able to
play swf files on the phones.
However, this product has some bugs/performence issuses.
I have some suggestions which I would like to see in the
    player:
    - keep backlight .. an option to keep backlight ON when
    wathing swf animations
    - zoom option .. ability to change the zoom
    - landscape mode - many swf animations are better viewed in
landscape mode rather than default mode (portrait)
    - extern url - an option to chose when a swf files is trying
to open an URL. The options for the user may be: ask, automatic
    open and ignore.
    - key mapping - for example: 1 for rotate, 2 for fullscreen,
4 zoom in, 5 zoom out, etc. Also an option to customize the keys is
    useful.
    Some bugs/issues I've found:
    - cannot open swf files bigger than 2MB. It gives me 'not
enough memory' (I have enough free RAM)
    - (PI) the sound does not syncronize with the video part (on
    some animations)
    - (PI) the animation is not smooth when the graphic is reach
    (see Happy Tree Friends animations)
    - (PI) some 'sound frame' repeat twice (in some animations)
I have tried to overclock the CPU of the phone (with OMAP
Clock, from 180 to 260Mhz), and the performance issues are the same
    (see [PI] @ bugs/issues )
I have a SPV C600 (HTC Tornado platform) with Windows Mobile
    5.0
    Thanks
PS: sorry for my bad english

Hi - great feedback! I have noted your inputs and we will be
considering some of them for the next update of the developer
    releases of Flash Lite.
One word, though is that Adobe can only control the Flash
Lite implementations that it builds for the Open OS category. What
shows up in devices preinstalled by the OEM - could have different
behavior of the application - features like backlight etc. are
    dependent on the OEM.
