Flash Lite for the TV?

Hi,
I want to be able to play flash content on a VxWorks based Set Top Box. This STB will not have a browser. However, we want it to be able to play flash content.
Can I port use flashlite to achieve my goal?
Appreciate your help.

TV's with flash lite 3.1 will be available in the third
quarter of this year. Seems that developers need the info now since
some of these devices could be shipping with applications.
"Maintaining the aspect ratio of a video for mobile platforms
is difficult to integrate due to wildly varying screen sizes."
If you could maintain aspect ratio or even scale the video
object then their is no issue with a plethora of screen formats.
If you are unable to scale a video object when flashlite 3.1
is decoding h.264 or flv video then what is the point. You will not
be able to truly navigate web video content. Content publisher will
still have to encode specifically for each device making whats
available to the flashlite user limited or just not available.

  • Flash Lite for the market

    Hi,
I am working with Flash Lite app that will be sold to a
market that most of it does not have Flash Lite on thier mobile
phones. Is thier any other way to deliver them(distribute) Flash
Lite with the app I sell than telling them go to Adobe site to get
    Flash Lite?
    Yours,
    Rafiq Elmansy

Do you mean, I have to tell my users to get a new mobile or
go and buy the player to be able to play the application you just
    bought from me!!
Do not you think this is not a good point in the competation
with J2ME? I already lost some projects because of this. I do not
believe that Adobe locked the door for developers to get thier
Flash Lite app to the world, there should be a solution. Such a
great technology should not be blocked for developers because of
    this obstacles.

  • Why is there no up to date Flash player for the N8...

Annoying that there are streaming video sites that I now can't use. I may as well have got an iPhone :-(

Adobe has stopped developing Flash (Flash Lite) for mobiles. If Adobe is not creating new versions, then there's no way for Nokia to release any newer versions, either, as Flash is not Nokia's code.
Note that the iPhone doesn't have/support Flash, either (e.g., YouTube is delivering the videos to iPhones in some other video format that the iPhone does support; they could do it for Nokia, too).

    Any sugestion!?

When I click on the WiFi locator, It locates my WiFi network and

  • Flash Decompilers for the Mac

    Hi all
I'm looking for a decent Flash Decompiler for the Mac. I have
a demo of the Gordon Flash Decompiler, but the demo doesn't let me
save anything as an fla, which I think is all I want to do with it.
Plus I've read more bad than good reviews online, so that makes me
a bit apprehensive. Anyone here have any problems with this
    program?
Are there others out there that maybe I should look at?
    Thanks

I had a lot of trouble with SimCity4 on my iMac. It became such a headache that I returned it to compUSA. It ran very choppy and crashed repeatedly when the city began to develop. My system FAR exceeds the system requirements for the game, and after some online research I discovered that I am not the only person to have this trouble with SimCity running on 10.4. I have also read problems concerning the SIMS2. Some of what I have read indicates that 10.3 runs the games fine, but 10.4 causes them to crash. I don't know if this is the case, but I do know that I am now very weary before dropping $50 on a game that may not perform on my computer as it claims to on the box. Some people trying to run games are talking about waiting for Mac OS updates that will allow them to run smoother.

  • Is there an alternative to adobe flash player for the iPad?

Is there an alternative to adobe flash player for the ipad2?

No - flash is not supported, and probably never will be (http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/ and Adobe havn't created a version that works on iOS anyway).
Browsers such as Skyfire, iSwifter, and Puffin 'work' on some sites, but not all judging by the reviews. You might also find that some sites (especially news sites) have their own apps on the app store which let you get some of the content that you want.

I am a residential appraiser and recently purchased an ipad 4 to use for my home inspections.  Some homes are foreclosed poperties without power and I am unable to get a good interior picture without a flash.  Does anyone know of a flash attachment for the ipad 4? I found a flash attachment for the ipad 2, but it does not work with the ipad 4.

    I'm sorry to hear that.
I'm not affiliated w/ the developer, just a happy user that gave up fighting the apple podcast app a while ago.  I used to have a bunch of smart playlists in itunes for my podcasts, and come home every day and pathologically synced my phone as soon as I walked in the door, and again before I walked out the door in the morning.
Since my wife was doing this too, we were fighting over who's turn it was to sync their phone.
Since I've switched to Downcast, I no longer worry about syncing my phone to itunes at all.  I can go weeks between syncs.
Setup a "playlist" in downcast (ex., "Commute") and add podcasts to that playlist.  Add another playlist ("walk" or "workout") and add different podcasts to that one.
Set podcast priorities on a per-feed basis (ex., high priority for some daily news feeds, medium priority for some favorite podcasts, lower priority for other stuff).  Downcast will play the things in the priority you specify, and within that priority, it will play in date order (oldest to newest).
Allegedly, it will also sync your play status to other devices, although that is not a feature I currently use and can't vouch for.  It uses apple's iCloud APIs, so to some extent may be limited by what Apple's APIs can do.

  • Is there a flash drive for the iPhone 5 so I can share

Is there a flash drive for the iPhone 5 that I can plug into my phone, copy all of the hundreds of photos and videos I've taken of my baby nephew using the iPhone camera to, and then pull out so I can just give the drive to my sister? Downloading/transferring all those photos and videos to my computer, then emailing or sorting and burning them to a disc would take FOREVER. The photos and videos of the baby are all mixed in with my personal photos and videos I've taken and sorting them out would be a nightmare. Plus, I want the original photos and videos to remain on my camera even after I copy them for my sister. Any help/ideas would be most appreciated!

    Hi Allan,
    Thank you for responding.
One clarification: I agree that the iPhone is not for long-term photo storage and I'm not looking to use it that way. What I'm looking for is a quick and easy way for me to get the photos/videos of my nephew to my sister so SHE can store them long-term. (Then I can delete all but a few of them and transfer them to my computer for storage pretty quickly and easily). The way I know to get all those photos/videos to her would take a very long time (which I don't have) and would require a lot of time sorting (which I don't have time to do either). Please don't suggest I pare down the photos and videos for her. This baby is a miracle baby and the Mom needs to get all the photos and videos. Understand where I'm coming from?
Regarding not keeping any favorite photos/videos on an iPhone: It seems normal to have some favorite photos and videos remain on an iPhone, kind of like a "Grandma's brag book" of most beloved photos. Even the most no-nonsense person might have 20-30 photos of someone or something they love, so they can share them with interested people or peruse them when they want to feel connected or be grounded.
I can't be the only person dealing with this issue/needing this type of hardware. Opportunities and need for photo sharing abound. If nothing else, it seems like an easy way for Apple to make a whole lot of extra money while making a whole lot of consumers very, very happy.
Any advice? Again, thanks very much.

  • Convert Quicktime files or FC Pro projects to Flash files for the internet

I've never done this before. I have finished FC Pro projects that I need to convert to flash files for the internet. Am I saying that right? I've converted them to QT files. What's next? Thanks

This site and the readme links and forum can help you display it on the web, works great with Flash or H.264.

  • Asking about Flash lite for E5

could anyone telling me is E5 gonna be able to upgrade Flash lite to Flash lite 4 or not

Would doubt it, but you never know, at least you normally get software updates for Nokia phones for 2yrs plus after launch, do there's plenty of time for it to happen if they're going to do it !

  • Feature Request: Raw-Lite for the F5/F55

Hi Sony Staff, Here's a feature request that I've been pondering for a long time now. Raw Lite on the F5(5). Is it a possibility? I'm a huge fan of the conventional 3:1 compressed 4K 16-bit Linear Raw from the AXS-R5. It provides a supremely high quality digital negative, with as much detail and tonality as you could ever really need. However the file sizes are very large. 1TB yeilds roughly an hour of recording time. And the storage costs associated with that are enough to scare away MANY producers from shooting Sony Raw (even with all of the benefits that doing so offers).  You guys have addressed this issue nicely with the F65 by offering Raw Lite with it's 6:1 compression (which coincidentally, is a compression rate that many, many producers are content to shoot with on the most prolific raw cameras out their - the Red Epic/Dragon/Scarlet cameras). Being able to offer producers the option to shoot Sony Raw Lite, with it's massively more managable file sizes would greatly increase the uptake of Sony Raw for production - and that benefits everyone. It benefits the camera department with a superior digital negative, it benefits post-production with greater latitude for grading and VFX, it benefits producers with a superior end product, and it benefits audiences with better looking images. Given that the F65 was able to be upgraded to offer this additional raw recording option, I assume (and hope) that it's not an impossiblity for the F5(5). So I'd urge you to strongly consider this feature request, and the added appeal it would bring to the cameras as a capture choice. Cheers, Mark

I disagree that there is little difference between 12bit and 16 bit linear raw. The difference is huge. Shadows and dark areas from the FS7/FS700 are pretty grim, lot's of noise caused by the data rounding. Besides, in terms of bit rate it's not a question of simply reducing the bit depth, you need to increase the compression. For linear raw you need 16 bits unless you do an extreme amount of data rounding. For Linear raw, if the first stop is represented by just 2 bits of data (which results in very blocky noise as noise will be one of 4 luma levels and cannot be smoothly reproduced):  stop 1: 2 bitsstop 2: 4stop 3: 8stop 4: 16stop 5: 32stop 6: 64stop 7 128 (8 bit linear limit, 128 + 128 = 256 bits)stop 8: 256stop 9: 512 (10 bit linear limit)stop 10: 1024stop 11: 2048 (12 bit linear limit)stop 12: 4096stop 13: 8192 stop 14: 16384 bitsstop 15: 32768 bits (16 bit linear limit) If you move this scale up so that the first stop is represented by using 4 bits of data you will still have pretty coarse shadows and noise (one whole f stop will only have 16 posible luma values). So rather than just use binary math most linear raw systems use floating point math to make more bits available for the shadows. But with 12bit there just isn't anywhere near the same amount of "spare" bits that you get with 16 bit, so the shadows and low key areas really suffer. Just go and look at the FS7/FS700 boards and all the compliants about unusable, grainy and blocky shadow areas in the raw. Sure raw lite would be a welcome option, but it wouldn't be one for me. The whole point of raw for me is a robust, bomb proof format that you can expose and grade as you wish without worrying about artefacts etc.
