Flash Loading With Blank Screen?

I have a flash movie that has an mp3 file on one of the layers.  The mp3 file loads fine and plays but when the flash movie first appears on the page it comes up as a blank white box, then it eventually loads 5-6 seconds later.  I see the pre-loader for a split-second right before it loads.  Shouldn't I be seeing the pre-loader bar right from the beginning? and see the progress bar?  Why am I seeing nothing but white prior to it loading?

I've found a solution that works for my situation.  I found a lot of solutions while researching this, all of them quite messy.  But you gotta do what you gotta do I guess.  Anyhow, rather than rewrite what I did, this tutorial pretty much sums it up -
http://www.8bitrocket.com/newsdisplay.aspx?newspage=10807
There are a few things to note in this tutorial, that I did not find in other very similar tutorials.  Many tutorials, like this one, have you unchecking export in first frame and placing assets on the stage in an unused frame (usually frame 2).  This seemed to work OK for everything except sounds for me.  The sounds would work initially, but after beating the game and returning to the main menu, EVERY SINGLE SOUND would be playing.  This tutorial makes a point to tell you to place the assets outside the stage area:
see step 6;
6. Put the asset holder clip on the stage in Frame 2 of your main movie (outside the viewable region)
That resolved the issue for me.
Anyhow, hope this helps some people.  I now have a preloader that displays when the game is about 15-20% loaded, rather than 80%.

  • Premiere Elements 9.0.1 - Loads with blank screen and no functionality

On launching PE9, the application loads and I get the top menu bar, but the rest of the screen is grey and the majority of the options on the menus are greyed out. You cannot open a project, create a new project or do anything.
I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled the software but the issue remains. I last used it about 4 monhs ago to create a instant movie from a set of photos.

I have worked with Premiere Elements 9 as tryout and purchased product from its release time (about 2012). And in 2012 I wrote about it in
Premiere Elements 9 First Look http://www.elementsvillage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=73757
Premiere Elements 9 Daily Discoveries Premiere Elements 9 Daily Discoveries - Elements Village
Premiere Elements 9 has been on my Windows 7 64 bit computer (Intel video card/graphics card) since 2012 without problems after the display card error was resolved. No relaps in that regard.
Premiere Elements 9 has been on my Windows XP 32 bit (NVIDIA) and Windows XP 32 bit virtual since 2012 without problems.
Premiere Elements 9 has gone through some installs, reinstalls on Windows 8 and 8.1 (Intel video card/graphics card) from time to time without any problems.
Unless you use the audio fix that I described, there is a problem with retaining replacement background for the burn to DVD-VIDEO products. See post numbered 8 in the Premiere Elements 9 Daily Discoveries thread cited above.
Other program glitches are described in the threads cited above. But, none, except the display matter, ever kept me from using the program successfully.
Premiere Elements 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 are on my Windows 7 64 bit, used one at a time. I have looked at Lightroom tryouts (never went with the product), and they did not compromise the working of version 9 at the time.  I have never used Photoshop CS6 nor the GoPro software.
Premiere Elements 10, 11, 12 are on my Windows 8 or 8.1 64 bit when I install 9.0/9.0.1 there from time to time for user troubleshooting purposes - my posts are based on first hand experiences with Premiere Elements.
My major problem with the program was the display card error reported.
Premiere Elements 9 Tryout Serious Display Problem
See post 10 in the thread just cited for the rationale behind the BadDrivers.txt file deletion.
Although that type of issue can present in Premiere Elements other than 9, it seems to me that version 9 was worst case in this regard. My solution was the deletion of the BadDrivers.txt file even with an up to date video card/graphics card.
If deletion of Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and/or the whole 9 Folder in which it exists does not resolve your Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 issue, then I would suggest
    a. looking into the video card/graphics card and its driver - double check to assure that your video card/graphics card is up to date...and, if it is, delete the BadDrivers.txt file.
    b. assure that you have the 9.0.1 Update installed
    c. double check Scratch Disks location and free hard drive space at that location, if you can get into a project
    More later.
Please review and consider. (If you are thinking 12/12.1, please look at the tryout before purchase.)

I have a problem with my mac, lit with blank screen loading bar and then goes out, I need assistencia on line or contact the Technical Support Service in Argentina

    Priscilla,
if your Mac is still in warranty, then you should contact the Argentinian technical support service. If it is out of warranty, then we can try to lend a hand. (We’re just fellow Apple product users here.)

  • Issue with blank screen HP G60-447CL Notebook PC

Issue with blank screen  HP G60-447CL Notebook PC, I purchased warranty and have had the laptop serviced before for the same exact issue.  Same problem has come up again blank screen it has been less than five months this problem was fixed and it has started again:  blank screen white, laptop is powered on nothing else happens.  Now I cannot reach anyone.

    You're very welcome.
I have tried many times to help folks with different drivers and nothing has worked.
I'd say at least a dozen people have posted about this issue, and no one can fix it.
    I don't understand it either.

What lead_org is referring to is commonly known as "re-balling" which involves unsoldering the Southbridge chip from the planar, replacing all (6-700) solder balls with new ones and then re-attaching it under heat/pressure.

Do you have a case on the phone? If so, what case? If you do, then try removing the case and see if it works.
If not, then try a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone should reboot. After that, try again.

  • Ibook g3 OSX 10.2.8 was upgraded to 10.4 but screen went black, sound fine.  How do I revert to 10.2.8 with blank screen?

So here's what happened.  The Apple Store Geniuses generously upgraded my ibook g3 with OSX 10.2.8 to OSX 10.4 via USB port since my CD drive no longer works.  But the screen suddenly went black, sound was fine.  Genius was stumped, but when I restarted later I very briefly got an initial screen plus the music that accompanies an initial OS installation before screen went black again.  I really think that OSX 10.4 was more than my ibook g3 could handle.  I don't recall the specifications anymore and can't check them with a black screen, but capacity was fairly limited.  I went back to Apple a few weeks ago to ask them to downgrade my poor ibook g3 to OSX 10.3 which seems more likely to work with my computer's specifications, but was informed that OSX 10.3 is no longer available for them to load via USB.  Today it occured to me that OSX 10.2.8 is still somewhere on my ibook, and if there's some shortcut I can use to restart under 10.2 instead of 10.4, some switch of OS I can make while blind (since the screen is currently dark), I could at least still use the ibook using the old 10.2 OS.  Is there a way to do this switch in OSX while essentially blind?  If not, my ibook is basically a doorstop I originally spent over $600 on 10 years ago.  I really can't afford to just run out an buy new computers as I am disabled and dying a slow painful death from Lyme disease, but can't afford medication to treat my own illness, let alone buy another computer every 5 years.  Please help!

    Hello,
Ok let's see what we can do here.
First thing to try is resetting the PMU. Http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1431 it may make no difference but its good practice to do so.
So times it can resolve faults. You say they installed Mac OS X 10.4. Did they setup a user a count and did you see the desktop? Did they simply hand it back to you when the installed failed with a blank screen?
The truth is, in order for you to restore your iBook your going to need the system restore disk. With a broken CD drive this has limitations as you have no real means to install.
The only option would be to use target disk mode on an external drive, but being an early G3 iBook I'm not sure if target disk mode will work. I am going to assume the shop used this method to install via USB.
What would be a good solution is to fit a replacement CD drive. They are often cheap enough to buy and relatively easy to fit on a white duel USB model. Replacement CD drives can be brought from eBay at very little money.
An online guide can help you fit one with the right screwdrivers.
With a replacement drive, you will be open to better options for installing or even using an apple hardware test disk to diagnose any faults with the screen.
Suprised you was left in such a situation by the shop.

  • IManager loads a blank screen this week

    All,
I was downloading modules into my iManager 2.7.3 world on one server. The network burped during the download and the process hung on my Windows7 desktop. Server is SLES 10sp3, OES2 sp3.
Now, when I attempt to load iManager on this server, I can choose iManager (and I see Management Services with the 3 choices) from the main page, I am presented with a blank screen, no log in, just a blank screen. All I see at the bottom is servlet/nps/portalservice. There is nothing in /var/log/messages to give me a clue. I can load iManager on another server with the needed modules, so I'm OK, but I'd really like to get iManager here back to functional levels.
I've restarted Apache, Tomcat, and even kicked the dog. I've not re-booted the server. I'm at a College and we are in a registration blackout period now, where rebooting things requires major approvals. This server is my CA for the tree.
    Thanks for the ideas,
    Loren Carter, Montgomery College
    [email protected]

    Try uninstalling iManager and reinstalling.
If you start yast2 > OES Installation and configuration untick iManager. next next next etc
Do the same and tick iManager again, this should make a vanilla iManager install.

  • TS1538 iPod Touch with blank screen that doesn't shut off and not recognized by iTunes?

I opened the app "MyTown 2", and it stayed on the opening screen for about 5 minutes - WAYYY too long! So I tried to close the app. A slight grayscale sort of film "slid" down over the opening screen, and then it went to this light gray, completely blank screen. It's been that way for over an hour - no matter what I do, can't do a hard shut down, and the device is not recognized by iTunes at all. It's completely DEAD!!!! Is there any hope? Anyone have a clue?

Following the instructions in this procedure to the letter. Here they are, with emphasis on some easily overlooked requirements:
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPod Touch, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release only the Sleep/Wake button.
Continue pressing and holding the Home button while you reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.Note: If you see the "low battery" screen, let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then start with step 2 again.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears (iTunes icon and USB connector) release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the "recovery mode" alert ("iTunes has detected a phone in recovery mode").
Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you do not see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
Select the device in iTunes and choose "restore from backup".
If you still can't get it to work, you have done all you can and only Apple will be able to help.

  • ITunes preferences opens with blank screen, HELP!

Alright so I was getting bored of the Windows Media Player interface, so I decided to go back to iTunes.
The installation went fine, but when I wanted to change my options/Preferences, it comes up with this weird blank screen.
    http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/3057/waaw.jpg
I've searched on google and only found 1 thread about this with no answers. So I decided to come and ask here.
So I would REALLY appreciate some help because I've always liked iTunes better than WMP.

What version of iTunes do you have installed? Do you have any iTunes plugins?
Troubleshooting issues with 3rd-party iTunes add-ons
If you create a new Windows Vista user, and log in to that user, do you still have the same problem?

  • Flashing Power Button / blank screen

I purchased new HP Pavailion desktop a month ago.  I connected my existing monitor - HP pavilion f1903 (purchased in 2005) and had no problems.  This afternoon all was fine and then I came to check email and the power button was flashing (orange).  The screen remained black even after touching the keyboard and moving the mouse.  I pressed the power button off and the back on and no change, other than the light going off.  I discounnected ALL cables and power and reconnected.  I have connected an old monitor with same power cords and cable.
Is there a solution or do I need to buy a new monitor now.

    For the F1903 Blackout Problem...
Read this entire message before starting!
This servicing should be done only by persons familiar with component level PC Board repair. Unplug the monitor! Disconnect the signal cable prior to starting any work. High Voltage is present when the monitor is plugged in.
Remove the 4 black screws on the back and remove the stand, then the 4 black screws in the case that hold the back onto the Bezel. Lay the monitor face down and using your fingernails begin to pop the bezel away from the back case. Once it's popped away a little, use a large, wide flat bladed screwdriver and push gently in the edge seam towards the center of the monitor to release the latches. DON'T TWIST the screwdriver or you'll mar the Bezel and case. Lift the Back case off and be careful because the front switchboard is attached to the front Bezel by 4 screws. Remove those screws, gently pull the Bezel off and turn the Monitor face down. Peel back the foil tape and using some stout needle nose pliers or hemostats gently pull the 4 Plugs out that provide power to the CCFL (Backlights) Rremove the 2 machine screws in the side of the frame and you should be able to lift the LCD Partway up to get to the inverter board, be careful not to stress the cable going to the LCD, you can unplug that but it's a pain to plug back in. The inverter board is the board the 4 backlight plugs were plugged into, remove the 2 machine screws, unplug the connector on the inverter and you can pull the board out to work on it. (You’ll likely need a second person to do this unless you remove the LCD after disconnecting it)
While Bulged Capacitors might be a culprit in the blackout issue, what I have found more prevalently is bad soldering on the inverter board that supplies power to the 4 backlights for the LCD. Using a lighted magnifier, look at the inverter board for cold solder joints (grey and dull looking) or joints that look fractured or show evidence of arcing. Proper solder joints look shiny without pitting or other irregularities.
Here’s a good tutorial on proper soldering techniques: http://www.technick.net/public/code/cp_dpage.php?aiocp_dp=how_to_solder
Remove the solder on any bad solder joints with solder wick and replace with fresh rosin core solder. There are 2 Gray, rectangular, boxy looking .33Mfd Capacitors on the board. The plating on the leads apparently didn't solder well. I removed those Capacitors and polished the leads with a fine emery paper to make them more solderable. When I pulled them off the board, there was evidence of arcing under one of them. I soldered the capacitors back and then replaced all 4 of the C5706 (2SC5706) transistors on the board. You might need to slightly enlarge the holes in the PC Board to accommodate the replacement transistor's leads (I did) The transistors can be had on EBay for $1 apiece. I would replace all 4 transistors on general principal. (so you might want to wait until you have those in hand prior to disassembling the monitor.) Reverse the process for reassembling the monitor. It took me about 90 minutes start to finish, opening it, repairing the board, reassembling and testing it. Considering that I bought the monitor nonfunctional for $35 my time was well spent, the Monitor has been working flawlessly ever since. I hope this all makes sense. These monitors are VERY nice when working properly. Good Luck.

  • X200 fails to boot up with blank screen

Hi guys, i came to the problem this morning. when i was trying to start up the computer, it failed to boot up. the machine was normally shut down last time. with no beep, the screen remains blank and black, without any change. after 2 seconds of pressing the powerkey, it is shut down with a short beep. here are what i tried:
1, use an external drive and a windows 7 disk. no reaction.
2,Remove AC and System battery. Press and hold the power button several times (3-5 time) for a count of 5 secondsReconnect AC and press the power button - if system starts normally, shut down and insert the battery. does not work.
by the way, the mahine was bought in Hongkong and still is in warranty. however, i am currently in Germany, and will stay for another 3 months.
    anyone with any suggestions? thanks.
