Flash Mass Deployment

Is there a way to manually download any current version of
Flash and install it manually, rather than having to do it manually
through a web browser?
Is there any .msi packages available?
If there is a yes response to any of these questions,
please.. please let me know.
This question also applies to Shockwave.

Sure.. there's a free Flash Player licensing program:

Same thing for Shockwave, same URL..

  • Mass deploy adobe reader with cusomized settings

I would like to mass deploy Adobe reader to both Mac and PC computers with customized settings.  Ideally, to have the program update in the background so the end user does not have to do anything.  Is there a way to do this on both platforms?

There is no unified platform agnostic deployment technology from Adobe that handles both deployment and updates to Acrobat.  You may want to look for third party deployment technology to do this for you.

  • Mass Deploy OWA Application to iPhones and iPads

We want to mass deployment the OWA app to all the iPhones and iPADS in our organization using Windows Intune.  Is this possible? I see I can upload an .IPA file... but those aren't available for download like an MSI... so is this feature really only
intended to be used to download custom developed applications which are not in the app store?

Note though that this has nothing to do with Intune. This is simply how all device app stores work. One of the advantages -- for developers and consumers -- is that there is a single source of the app (the store) where the developer can track (and charge
for) installs and updates can readily be downloaded as they are available. Giving the actual installation file to anyone to use would break this model.
The most you can do is what's called deep-link to the app in the app store so that the users can find the app to install them from the app store themselves.

  • How to mass deploy Windows InTune client software with GPO

I have been looking for mass deploy Windows InTune client software. The only option that I had was with GPO. As we know the exe is not possible to deploy with GPO. Ok, we can play arouund with ZAP files or tranform exe to msi. In my opinion this is
rather »walk-around« the »enginering aproach. So, how can we mass deploy InTune client with GPO. We need to extract the msi from exe. The command is »Windows_Intune_Setup.exe /Extract <destination-directory> ». The command extracts exe to x86 and x64
client msi install. Then we can deploy throw GPO. The »WindowsIntune.accountcert« file must be in the same folder share as described in document http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj676611.aspx.
I have tested the deployment, and works good.

  • Installing CS3 (Volume License) for mass deployment via NetInstall (via OS X Server)

    Hello.
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience using CS3 (volume license) for mass deployment? We used to manually install on machines, but as the size of the organization has grown, this has become more and more inconvenient. This summer we're planning on a complete upgrade to all systems and during this process we're doing HD formatting and clean installations of all systems and software. To make this process more efficient (as all systems are set up the same way) we're now looking into using OS X 10.5 Server, NetInstall and a cloned system image for deployment to all machines. My question is, is there anything relating to CS3 that may cause issues with this process? Does CS3 installation bind itself to the hardware it was installed on? Since we are using a volume license, I don't have to worry about individual serial numbers and activating the system with Adobe, but again, I'm unsure if installations are somehow tied into the hardware they were installed on? Ideally, I'd install CS3 onto the "master" system and run all updates prior to making the final system image. Has anyone that's done this using CS3 provide any information that may help me out?
    Thanks,
    Kristin.

    kristin,
No one is withholding a reply from you because you're using CS3. It is just that no one who may know the answer has wandered by. The folks who help here are Adobe product users, like you.
    >This summer we're planning on a complete upgrade to all systems and during this process we're doing HD formatting and clean installations of all systems and software.
My only point was that you will be spending a lot of time and effort on a setup that is centered around older, discontinued software. And my thinking is that if you are going to the time and expense of revamping your office, why not do it right and include CS4? If you install CS3 now, when you do decide to upgrade to CS4, you will be giving yourself a lot of extra work. From my point of view, the added software cost would be a good investment
during the current systems overhaul. Otherwise, it just isn't a "complete upgrade". You're installing '07 parts on the '09 Mercedes.

  • Mass Deployment

Is there a way to do a mass deployment of the backup client using SCCM?

  • OEM mass deploy question

The docs basically say that every server database has to have the same path for the oracle home. We have some older databases with homes in different directories. Is it really necessary for us to go to each oracle home on the servers and run the Download script or is there a way to use the mass deploy if I get a list of the different oracle homes?

the OS software version is differnet also. Its not going to compile. That is just one example. I am hoping there is a download of multiple versions of unix/linux and I can mass deploy them through the network.

  • Mass deployment of applet (jar)

In order to deploy an applet en-mass when using the Microsoft JVM for IE I run the command below in a login script. How would I do the same when using the SUN JVM - note that SUN JVM uses .jars instead of .cabs.
    Thanks
    rundll32 c:\winnt\system32\msjava.dll,JavaPkgMgr_Install c:\temp\jvue.cab,0,0,0,0,0,0

For example : If a company of 400,000 people wish to
use an online software application which uses 3
applets why burn your bandwidth downloading the same
applets 400,000 times.. Hence the mass deploy
solution.Downloading it via a login script already 'burns' bandwidth.
And if it is set up correctly the applet is only downloaded once, the first time it is used. And after that it is downloaded only when it changes.

    Hi.
Are there any guides on how to mass deploy BB Link to my user base? I'd like to know if its possible to preselect certain options for the deployment, such as not to run at windows startup etc

Anyone? Do any BB techs monitor this forum?

  • OEM mass deploy across multiple platforms

Our OEM is on redhat linux, our databases are on solaris. When I go to download patches I have to download different versions for the different OS's? I need to patch a host of Grid Control agenst on about 15 servers. It would be easier if I could mass deploy these.
The download script does not work, since the download directories have OS version names.

the OS software version is differnet also. Its not going to compile. That is just one example. I am hoping there is a download of multiple versions of unix/linux and I can mass deploy them through the network.

  • Mass deployment of Archlinux idea

Hello all, I had kind of an epiphany recently.  I know that pacman is underway with becoming a library.  Most people have been looking at this as only a potential for a GUI app, which I think is definitely a cool idea.  The epiphany that I had is since pacman will be a library, how much more work would it take to create another piece of software to tie this library into a webmin module.  I think it would be fairly easy.  One other idea I had was creating another simple piece of software that would use the pacman library to install Archlinux on a large number of machines.  You could have one head node, then all the other computers connected to the head node.  This way you can run a monitored, automated script to install all the needed software on a lot of computers.  An example would be installing linux in a computer lab.  My university, Florida Tech, is updating their computer labs from fedora core 2 to gentoo.   All the computers in the lab are exactly the same in hardware configuration.  Adding functionality for mass deployment would definitely cut down on installation time.  Also, I'm not trying to push this issue hard, just as an idea.  Whenever Archlinux becomes ready for mass deployment on machines, we could revisit this idea/issue.  What do you guys think of this idea?

Hello all, more discussion is ensuing I see.  I didn't think that the discussion would continue on this long.  cactus, I see you are stirring up quite a few questions.  I will try to answer them as best I can.
    cactus wrote:??
I don't get that feeling at all. Please elucidate further.
As for your first question, on why I get the impression people don't want to see Archlinux take off toward a more bussiness/formal world, what I meant by that question is seeing Arch moving into something like Suse linux.  I was seeing it becoming a GUI linux distro that was simple in design and comparing that view with the view of other Arch users.  On the website homepage, it mentions that Arch is more of a veteran distro, not for newbs.  I just picked up the overall feeling that the Arch users didn't want to see Arch turn into something like Suse.
cactus wrote:I don't see a need for this at all. You speak loosely of forking, when you should be speaking of customization. It would be very easy to use arch in a business sense, with just setting up your own repository, and only pushing updates out to that repository when they have been more fully tested. No need to do anything different really.
As for the second question, if Archlinux was going to trully succeed successfully in the business market, if it does later decide to move into the business world, it has to have rock hard, well-tested software.  A stable branch, and I really mean STABLE branch would have to be formed, or an offshoot project could be formed that works off of Archlinux leaving the traditional Archlinux project the way it is.  I have a few friends here at school that can just about break ANY piece of software out there easily, whether it be microsoft, linux/open source, SysV Unix/Solaris, or even BSD.  The software being distributed would have to be EXTENSIVELY tested, which is a very difficult and time consuming task to do.
cactus wrote:Once again, I think it is very premature to speak of forking. See answer to above.
As for the answer to the fourth question, I believe it is related enough to the third answer to be answered there.
cactus wrote:To be honest, why present an idea if you don't really care about it. Stand behind what you think about something, but be open to other ideas too. I never liked the "just saying this to be saying this" type thing. Always seemed like a bit of a cop-out to me..in case of flamage, you can always fall back on "I was just saying it to say it!"..
The reason I throw ideas out that I may not be passionate or interested in is because somebody else might.  Somebody else may like the idea and want to run with it.  Also, productive discussion on many different issues like this develop.  Even though this particular discussion may not be relavent for Archlinux yet, it may be very pertinent in the future.  Lastly, one of the first things I learned here at college is that you never throw a reasonably sound idea out, even if you are not into it, because many times the idea may evolve into something separate that is VERY interesting to you.
On a separate note, I want to say that I am very happy with the everyones input.  This discussion has been most definitely productive.  I hope nobody feels that I am trying to push Archlinux in any given direction, like into the business world.  I am COMPLETELY satisfied with what Archlinux has provided and am very excited to see what it will offer in the future.  Again I threw the idea out into the forum not because I was particularly interested in it myself, but wanted to share the idea with the community, upholding the open source philosophy, and seeing if anyone else might want to do something with the idea.  It is also fun to take a step back and look at how the discussion developed over time.  Good day to you all and take care.

  • Mass deployment of Oracle client

What methods are available for mass deployment of the Oracle 9i client runtime? I mean for 100+ PCs at a time. Is there an Oracle-based solution?
My company's preferred method for application deployment is Microsoft SMS 2003. I have tried using two methods so far:
    1) Creating an MSI file by using InstallShield AdminStudio and the snapshot process. Then deploy the MSI file with SMS 2003.This only worked on a minority of target PCs. Perhaps I just did it wrong!
    2) Creating an Oracle RSP response file for the Oracle Universal Installer and then attempting to get SMS to deploy the whole bundle. I could get the silent install working fine if I manually ran it on individual PCs whilst logged in as an admin, but getting it to deploy with SMS was hopeless.
Has anybody produced a detailed guide on how to mass deploy the client? Or even just some basic tips?!
    Any help much appreciated.

MSI files are executed with MSIExec.exe and it comes with a few switches depending on the version. You can check out these links for the respective versions and switches. If you have successfully created .MSI with AdminStudio, you could try these.

There are syntax for the NT4 version too which I can't seem to place at the moment. This should be able to force an installation even if it's been installed previously.
    Good luck.

  • Flash Application Deployment

I have just completed my first flash application, and am
trying to deploy it to IIS.
When I access the virtual directory from the local machine,
it runs fine. However if I try to access it from any remote
machine, nothing appears and the request times out.
Are there any security restrictions imposed in the default
wrapper generated by the Flex Builder?
I tried googling for a simple walk through article on how to
deploy an application but no luck. Any pointers would be
    appreciated.

    Faisy,
No default security restrictions by the html wrapper
(couldn't be) but there are a lot of security issues inside the
flash player by default. When browsing to the location, do you get
any result? If you see e.g. the grey default flex background, the
problem probably lies in the security settings of the player (and
we can take it from there). If you get nothing, it probably is a
IIS setting which goes beyond the scope of this forum.

    HI!
We are facing a mass installation of Adobe CC for all our students. In order to reduce the bandwidth used we are looking at a way download CC once and distribute it to our students laptops.
Where can we download CC and in what way can we deploy it to a multitude of workstations?
