Flash media encoder - "compatible analog to digital converters"
anyone know which analog to digital converters are compatible
with FME?
I'm needing to get analog input up onto FMS. I'm thinking FME
is the solution but I need to know what hardware to buy and I'm not
getting anywhere quick. Not even Adobe sales could help me. I
contacted manufacturers and they are stumped too because sales
people generally don't know anything but how to direct you to a
website.
Thank you much, loves.
If you have an ExpressCard slot on the Macbook, take a look at the Blackmagic Intensity Pro plus the Magma ExpressBox PCI expansion box.

Compatible analogue to Digital Converters & Macs
Does anyone knows what are the compatible analygue to digital converters for Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder? I'm on a MacBook Pro
MORE DETAILS
I have one of these all-silver MacBook Pro. So it's about 3 years old.
Specs:
Mac OS X version 10.5.8
Processor 2.4 GHZ intel core 2 Duo
Memory 4GB DDR2 SDRAM
So I know it's good to do live streaming.
I have two camcorder.
Neither have firewire.
The Panasonic HDC-TM60 has an HDMI and a AV Multi.
The Sony CX-100 has an HDMI and an A/V R.
I want to use one of these two camcorders to do live streaming on Ustream. I'll use the Adobe Flash Media live Encoder.
I need to know what converter to buy so that I can connect one of these camcorder to my mac and start the live streaming.
No one at the apple store or other store know about live streaming and adobe flash media live encoder. So I'm hoping someone here does.
I really appreciate your expertise and the time you'll take to answer my question. Thanks!If you have an ExpressCard slot on the Macbook, take a look at the Blackmagic Intensity Pro plus the Magma ExpressBox PCI expansion box.

I have adobe flash media encoder 3.1 installed and am trying to stream downloaded .avi, .mpeg, and other video files to justin.tv using ManyCam, Everything seems to be working fine, video stream is clear and not choppy. Audio on my end is clear, and in Flash media Encoder i have "SigmaTel audio device" selected as my audio output (which is my stock audio driver)..however i keep getting complaints that there is no sound to my page on justin.tv. As far as i know all my drivers are installed properly and up to date. The green audio bar on FME shows no activity. Im wondering if this ****** SigmaTel excuse of an audio driver just doesnt get along with FME? There is no option to select "stereo mix" as other forums have said to do. Can anyone please help me get sound to my justin.tv page? Or help me find a way to instal a different audio driver that is compatible with a dell piece-o-**** dimension e520. I have downloaded Realtek HD Audio, SoundMAX drivers, and a few others but the only audio driver this piece of **** dell wants to recognize is the SigmaTel Audio Device, Which WONT OUTPUT SOUND TO FME!!!!!! PLEASE HELP!! TUMOUR IS GROWING!!
Can i not buy a set of surround sound speakers that are hooked up via USB and go around this problem? I really just want to get RID of SIGMATEL forever, and use REALTEK...but it wont recognize no matter how many times i download it. fml!"The audio preview in FMLE indicates there IS audio being input"
How do you know this?
are you "Saving to file"? how is the audio in the saved file?

Dropped frames while using multi bit rates in Flash Media Encoder 3
I’m using the Adobe Flash Media Encoder 3 to stream live video to a host computer at 200 Kbps. At the same time, I’m saving a copy to my hard drive at 350 Kbps. The live stream signal seems to be ok. The saved stream has dropped frames. Total bandwidth is about 615 Kbps. I’ve looked at performance marking software to see if my hard drive is slow and to check my CPU speed. I can’t see what I need to save a better copy and still keep the live stream.
Is this just a need for more CPU speed?
The encoder is on a Dell Optiplex 360 Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 @2.53GHz with 3GB RAM. The hard drive is a 152GB IDE ST3160815AS. It has write caching enabled on the disk.I saw your request for the log file in a different post. This is one of them that was made from my encoding. I don't see any answers in it.

Adobe flash media encoder compatibility with the lion mac mini server
Can anyone tell me if the adobe flash media encoder is compatible with the lion mac mini server?
I am running adobe live flash encoder on a new mac-mini server with Lion and am able to stream video just fine - however I get a hum in the audio. I am not sure whether the hum is caused by the audio input, the camcorder, the adobe encoder, or the combination, but it seems to be the camcorder's fault.
There is a manual about migrating or upgrading to lion server, but none about instituting a new capability from scratch -
Flash Media Encoder 3.1 Problem..
Okay so.. I just recently decided to start broadcasting on my new laptop which is windows 7 and a 64 bit and I reinstalled my Pinnacle software on this labtop and when I install the drivers and other needed programs such as this. So moving on to the problem, like many other people from what I see have similar problems like me about when you open Flash Media Encoder and then swap to your capture card it loads then black screens and finally instantly closes without warning.. I have pretty much gone through an ENTIRE day trying to get this to work.. I also went to my old labtop and tried it out there and for some reason it works an dis compatible there... Please I would appreciate some help as I would like to start broadcasting again..
Please try using FMLE commandline version FMLECmd and see if it works?
FMLE GUI has a known issue on Windows 7 starter and Home edition -
Streaming Live Video using Flash Media Encoder/Flash Media Streaming Server
We currently get a video feed from local cable channel that gets streamed live to our internet website. It gets encoded first on our Windows 2003 server running Windows Media Encoder and then gets published on another Windows 2003 server running Windows Media Services. We are trying to replace these two servers with another solution and the two things driving this project are:
1. These two servers are coming to an end of life cycle so we need to replace the hardware and upgrade the OS.
2. They currently only support Windows compatible file formats. Just like other organizations out there, iPAD users are popping up and they want to view these video streaming from their iPAD.
That's why we are looking at Adobe Flash Media Encoder3 and Flash Media Streaming Server 4.5. My questions for the experts out there are:
1. Can Adobe Flash Media Encoder and Adobe Flash Media Streaming Server can replace our current solution?
2. Do we need both Flash Media Encoder and Flash Media Streaming Server or can Flash Media Streaming Server also can encode video feed?
3. Can Flash Media Encoder and Flash Media Streaming Server can run on the same server?
4. Our Windows Media Services server also has few on-demand publishing points along with a live video streaming. Can above mentioned Adobe products support having live streaming publishing point along with on-demand video publishing points?
5. Does Adobe Flash Media Encoder only support Flash and Quicktime or does it also support .wmv?
I called the sales to find the answers to these questions but he basically read the features listed on the Adobe product website and couldn't really answer these questions.
Any help in find the answers to these questions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks you.FYI - I was able to do it by using the "onFI" handler of the embedded NetStream object.
myVideo.addEventListener(fl.video.VideoEvent.STATE_CHANGE, onVideoStateChange);
function onVideoStateChange(evt:fl.video.VideoEvent)
// trace("State = " + evt.state);
if ( evt.state == "playing" )
if (!ns)
ns = myVideo.getVideoPlayer(evt.vp).netStream;
ns.client.onFI = onFIHandler;
function onFIHandler(infoObj:Object):void
var ts:String = infoObj.st;
trace("system time: " + ts);
ExternalInterface.call("updateTimeStamp", ts); -

Flash Media Encoder 2.5
Hi--
I'm using Adobe Flash media Encoder 2.5 to stream Video & Audio to a web-site. For the past few days I've been unable to access my Channel on that web-'s Player or ANY other channels on the web-site-- after eliminating the browsers (as all 3 experience the same issue of non-accessibility to the web-site Player),and the fact that all 3 browsers PLAY OTHER Flash-encoded content, I have deduced the problem is with Flash Media Encoder as it keeps re-setting every 20 seconds or so indicating "Encoding & streaming to server is stopped due to aproblem in capturing Audio/Video"--however the settings are the same as when there was no problem. Anyone familiar with Flash Media Encoder 2.5 and any problems it may be experiencing? This has been ongoing for 4 days now

can any one tell me when i use adobe flash media encoder how can i see my live vidoes on flash media server . thnx
Flash Player version 10.1.102.64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users. However, this Flash version won't work for many videos on Facebook, YouTube and other sites. Adobe's latest version, 10.2.x or later, is only for Intel Macs. Adobe will not provide a newer Flash version for PPC Macs.
The message requesting that you download Adobe Flash Player takes you to Flash Player requiring an Intel processor. Doesn't work on a PowerPC processor. I found a hack, installed it & it works with Firefox, TenFourFox & Safari.
Download this http://www.steelbin.com/FPforFBPPC.zip to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.
Hack Allows PowerPC Macs to Access Flash 11 Content

So, I've been playing with the new Flash Media Encoder here:
http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/fme/
It was a really simple download and works seamlessly with
Flash Media Sever. I think you have to update FMS2 to the January
07 update to use it, though. Anyway, below are some options for
trying it out. Have fun :)
Per Chris H from adobe:
1. You don't need a main.asc file on your FMS app to publish
and broadcast live streams with FME.
2. You can get a live stream from FME to playback in the
normal FLVPlayback component that ships with Flash 8 Professional.
Just make sure you have the "isLive" parameter set to true and the
contentPath should be:
rtmp://server_name/app_name/inst_name/stream_name.
Option from FMS livedocs:
1 New Flash Document with two layers: actions and video
display.
2 Add this code from the FMS livedocs to the actions layer:
var my_nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
my_nc.connect("rtmp://<YOUR RTMP ADDRESS>/streamtest");
var my_ns:NetStream = new NetStream(my_nc);
my_video.attachVideo(my_ns);
my_ns.play("stream");
3. Open Window > Library > Click little dropdown toggle
next to library title and select a new video display object and
specify actionscript control.
4. Drag Video Display out of the library and give it an
instance name of my_ns and publish it. I used a laptop for this
part so that I could stream to the file from my FMS server. I saved
the .swf as video_receiver.swf.
5 Stop Flash Media Server and create a folder called
streamtest in the FMS Apps folder, then start it again.
6. Fire up FMEncoder, specify the RTMP address you specified
in the Flash 8 AS code, and be sure that the stream is named,
"stream" (no quotes). Also, toggle off the save stream file, unless
you want to save the recording.
7. Click start on FME and open the video_receiver.swf and you
should see the stream playing.
Another idea:
Use the receiver from this tutorial:
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashcom/articles/broadcast_receiver.htmlWe have our own FMS and I have just installed the FME on a
workstation. FME reads video perfect but when I try to connect to
the server it won't accept my username and password. Where do I set
this? I have installed the add-in for FMS and also upgraded to the
latest 2.0.7 release. I'm green to the Flash Media Services so this
may come as a dumb question. Please help! -
Flash Media Encoder with multiple cameras?
Hi,
Is it possible to stream 2 or more cameras on one computer
with Flash Media Encoder, or are you restricted to one camera per
machine?
CheersHi,
As JayCharles explained to me, you run two instances of Flash
Media Encoder on the Computer. I was running 1 camera on just one
computer and so used 3 computers instead of using just the one
computer.
In my new case, I had 2 Cameras on the one machine.
When you launch Flash Media Encoder it will detect any
cameras you have on that computer, you will get a dropdown box so
you can choose which camera you want to use in this instance.
Choose the camera you want.
In the FMS URL box type the rtmp path to your Flash Media
server directory you want to stream this video to using either the
ip address or web address of the FMS server followed by the correct
path to where the file will be streamed to for example:
rtmp://192.168.1.10/vob/live
In the Stream Box type the name of the video file without the
.FLV tag, ie:
livevideo
Click the Connect button to connect the Video to the FMS
server.
When ready click the Start Button to start the stream.
So far you are streaming the video, but no one can see it.
Open a Dreamwaver page for example and go to:
Insert/Media/Flash Video (CS3)
or
Insert/Media/FLV (CS4)
Change the Video Type to Streaming Video
In the Server URI box type or paste in the rtmp address you
set:
rtmp://192.168.1.10/vob/live
In the Stream Name Box type in the Stream name you set in
Flash Media Encoder:
livevideo
The Skin type must be HALO, (Dont understand why you get no
choice)
Set the width and height of the Video on the page
Tick the Autoplay to play a pre recorded file, or tick Live
video feed if it is live.
Click ok.
If everything is correct then when you lauch the page the
video feed should be playing.
Lets assume it is, to add a second camera you just repeat the
same steps.
Open another instance of Flash Media Encoder on the Computer
you already have a feed running.
It might complain that the camera is already in use, as it
might try to connect to the same camera on the running application.
Open the Camera source dropdown and now choose the other
camera that should be available.
Put in the same info for the Server URI as you will also
stream to the same folder.
Chnage the Stream name now to:
livevideo2
Click Connect and also Start.
Open the Dreamweaver page you created for the first video.
Follow the same steps as before to create the Video on the
page
changing the name this time to livestream2.
You should now have 2 live video feeds on the same page using
two different cameras.
hope this helps. -
