Flash Media Live Encoder Authentication Add-In not working

I have installed the Authentication Add-In on a FMS 3.5.5 Development version, running Windows 2008 Server. I can easily get to the users.exe command prompt and add users with no problem. BUT, when I open the Flash Media Live Encoder and go to enter a username/password when connecting to the server, I keep getting "User Not Found". I've went back several times using users.exe and tested for my user credentials and it always states that the user is there. Can some please tell me what I am doing wrong here?

on windows its start icon/all programs/adobe/ and you should see flash media live encoder if that doesn't work and you are on windows 7 then you can use the search bar of the start menu......if you on XP you could always look for the .exe in C:\Program Files\ and look for adobe or flash media live encoder Once found right click and create shortcut it may put it on the desktop or you might have to drage the shortcut to the desktop. I haven't used XP in almost 2 years and its becoming a memory for my memory

Flash media live encoder not connecting

I've installed flash media server to an external host..everything works fine..except when I try to replace the localhost with
my new domain name or ip address it does not work
eg rtmp://localhost/vod/mp4:sample1_500kbps.f4v - works fine
rtmp://lookandlisten.ca/vod/mp4:sample1_500kbps.f4v - does not work
rtmp://97.74.115.220/vod/mp4:sample1_500kbps.f4v - does not work
Also I cannot use Adobe Flash Media Live encoder to connect to the external server using any of the above it
only seems to connect to localhost and not the external server. I will be very glad with any help I can get

if you dont like to turn off firewall settings, add 1935, 80 and 443 under exception. For this Choose firewire settings from Control Panel.

This is just a shot in the dark....
Do you have all your devices hooked up (and on) when you launch FMLE? For example -- your camera or digitizer? When FMLE launches it will try to launch with the last known settings... including input devices. If it can't find these devices (they're not hooked up and on) it can crash, although in most situations it will simply show a default screen with default settings.
If you do have your equipment hooked up (and on) when you launch FMLE, try unplugging them and then launching FMLE so that it opens up in default configuration mode (no input devices selected; all default settings). Then uncheck the "preview" boxes for both your input and output preview windows. Close FMLE and then plug in your equipment (and turn it on) and relaunch FMLE. I offer this suggestion as FMLE can sometimes act funny when the preview windows are open with certain types of input devices. Don't worry -- you don't have to keep the preview windows off forever. If you can get FMLE to successfully launch with the preview windows off, then you can set your settings however you like and save the profile. Then quit and relaunch FMLE and then turn the preview windows back on and see if it works. If it does, great. Just be aware that making any settings changes while the preview windows are open could result in FMLE crashing. Again -- this only happens with some capture devices, such as certain Dazzle capture boxes.
If none of this works, you could always try to upgrade to FMLE 3.2 and see if that solves your problem.

Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder 3.2 not open Win 7

Hello. I have some issues with this program. I install Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder 3.2 today on Windows 7. When i double click on icon program not running i see some seconds only Adobe logo. On task manager i see proces. I want do some stream from my laptop/ cam. I instal this program 2 months ago and used normal. Have some brake using AFMLE and want some stream today. What is a problem? I reinstall twice, install on another partition and program running normally. But wont open now. Someone can help, this is very good software for me.

I managed to solve the problem in the following way, the problem is with drivers for Windows 7 for EpocCam. topic can be closed. Drivers block process.

Adobe flash media live encoder not connecting to my server?

Hi all,
     I am working on streaming programs through "Adobe flash Media Live encoder" in my website.The steps that i done for streaming is
    * Installed Adobe flash media live encoder
    * In the FMS URL entered as " rtmp://myserver ip/live "
    * In stream given as "livestream"
    * when i click connect the follwing error is displaying " Invalid primary FMSURL "
The website i am going to implement is " www.thelivingword.in:8080 " which is done using PHP. Is there anything i have to do in coding to connect the media server.As i am new to this i need guidance from you people for completing this..
Plz help me out of this..waiting for ur guidance steps.

Can you check if firewall is on machine where Flash Media Server is installed? I mean it needs to off or you need to allow port 1935 and 80 so that you allow incoming traffic to FMS on this ports.

Wowza with Flash Media Live Encoder

Video Quality Problem: Action Script netStream X Flash Media Encoder
Hi,
We're running Wowza to stream a live webcam from a Flex web application (using ActionScript 3 netStream method) for a 1 to 1 video chat.
We are able to stream it properly, but the quality does not look good at all (320 x 240, 300 Kbps, 15 fps).
We tried tweaking the paramenters (quality x bandwidth), but the quality is still surprisingly poor for a H.264 video.
Just out of curiosity, we decided to use Flash Media Encoder 3 to generate a live stream from the very same computer, with the very same webcam, at the very same video specs. The quality is much, much better than the one using the ActionScript 3 netstream approach. The difference is amazing!
So this leads us to believe that the problem is in the "encoder"; the Flash Media Encoder seems to be much for efficient in generating a high quality video stream, compared to ActionScript 3.
My question to you guys is: are we missing something? Are there any parameters on ActionScript 3 or even on Wowza that can increase the quality of video?
Installing Flash Media Encoder on each end user machine is impossible, so we really need this to work on the browser, via Action Script.
In other words: how can I make the quality of the video generated by ActionScript 3 be similar to the one we're able to achieve (remember: under the very same specs) on Flash Media Encoder?

That may not be possible with Flash Media Live Encoder directly. But you can use softwares like WebCamMax on Windows and CamTwist on Mac to add video affects while broadcasting with Flash Media Live Encoder.

Is there a way to pass a username/password to Flash Media Live Encoder?

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this or not, but I thought I remembered a way to pass a username and password to FMS via Flash Media Live Encoder? I simply need to pass two values, equivalent to this in AS3:
netConnection.connect(url, "username", "password");
My application requires authentication for publishers for security reasons, and for some reason, I can't find the option for doing this in FMLE. Am I missing something?

You cant pass in connect arguments, but what you can do is pass them in as GET vars on the connection url, and then inspect the client.uri property in your server side onconnect handler.

Please check whether your FMS Url is a valid rtmp url. Check
your internet connection also.
If selfcast uses FMS and have given permissions to you to
stream to their server, you should be able to stream without any
problem.
If authentication add-in is installed on the server, you will
need credentials to connect to server. Check with FMS administrator
for the credentials.

Flash Media Server/Flash Media Live Encoder

Hello I just installed the authentication addin to my FMS 3.5 server (Windows 2008 Server - 32Bit.) I created a user and have check that the user/password is correct; however every time I attempt to connect to the server via Flash Media Live Encoder 3.2 I receive user not found. Again, I will go back to the utility on the FMS and check and the user/password combination is valid. I'm stuck, I would appreciate any assistance. Thanks.

Thank you for you replay. Yes, I did restart. I figured out what my problem was on yesterday. I needed to run the command prompt utility as "administrator" in order for users.exe to execute fully. It was a permissions issue. Again thank you!

Flash Media Live Encoder alpha channel (chroma keying) support

When trying to encode live strem with alpha channel (32 bit) using the latest Flash Media Live Encoder (FMLE) I have got no alpha chammel coming out from the encoder heading the FMS.
Is the new FMLE supports alpha channel encoding?

Even latest release of FMLE is not supporting alpha channel. If you want this to be implemented then you can add this as Enhancement bug in Adobe site for Flash media encoder product.
