Flash Media RTMFP Editions

I would like to know which Flash Media Edition supports RTMFP? I know Flash Media Enterprise supports RTMFP but that's unfortunately out of my price range. FMS Streaming server doesn't support either RTMFP or ip multicast. My question is...does FMS interactive server support RTMFP? I have read reviews but i found them rather confusing. If someone can clarify this for me i would appreciate it before i decide to purchase the edition.
Thank You

  • RTMFP support in Flash Media Server 4

I see that the new Flash Media Servers were released.  Looking over the information on the product pages, Flash Media Enterprise Server 4 is the only available product that supports RTMFP connections?
We currently have Flash Media Server 3.5 and our product utilizes RTMP connections, but I've been working with your Stratus Server and RTMFP and have found that the new protocol better fits our needs.  However, the price for Flash Media Enterprise Server 4 is beyond our budget.  Is there any possibility that RTMFP support are/will be available in the lower levels of Flash Media Server?  If not, is there any idea on the time frame for the end of Stratus?
    Thank you.

No, unicast means the client can make an RTMFP connection to the server, and data can only be sent between client and server.  P2P functionality requires FMES.
Forgive me as I'm still wrapping my head around FMS.
So the RTMFP unicast with only 2 machines would basically be the same as RTMP connections to a server running a particular application?
    MachineA ----RTMFP--->FMIS==\
                                                    |<-> Application1
    MachineB-----RTMFP--->FMIS==/
Doing it this way... the machines can still communicate with each other through the application they are connected to on FMIS?

  • Flash media server 4 enterprise load balancing

G'day chaps, me and my mates have purchased a copy of Flash Media Server 4 Enterprise edition for use on our web project.  Since we will be transmitting to large amounts of users through this exceptional piece of software, we will be needing to run more than one server at once.  Before going ahead and doing anything against the policies we have decided to post here on the support forums and inquire about being able to run multiple copies of Flash Media Server 4 Enterprise edition with one Serial KEY ( 10 x GigE dedicated servers ).  If this is not possible, how can me and my chappies load balance all the traffic through one Flash Media Server 4 Enterprise edition.

    Hi there bluray,
Congrats on your FMES purchase - we really hope FMS meets all your needs.  Although you'll not be permitted by your license to use it for more than one server installation you should be aware that FMS 4 has new scalability functionality that should enable you to scale beyond what you're currently expecting.  You may want to get immediately familiar with RTMFP and peer assisted networking.   FMS has the capability to serve as your personal introducer leveraging the power of peer to peer to scale more massively than a single installation is capable of.
Here's a little snippet about it

  • Please help, need to import .swf/flash media

Hi all, have a little issue here. I have some SWF flash media and I want to bring it into imovie so I can edit it more effectivley then with qt. However, I have been haveing alot of trouble, most time I only get the audio part of it and no image. Most of the media is widescreen, I was able to export the media in qt to dv stream and then import it, however, it lost its widescreen look and was kinda squished from the sides if that makes sense, if anybody has expeirence with this type of media, please help.
    Nathan

    Hi Nathan,
I've never "dared" to convert .swf, but I read a lot about problems doing so... probably the Quicktime section of this forum is better to ask...
maybe a much easier workaround is using tools as SnapzPro from Ambrosia; this tool claims to "record" any screen content (and audio) and convert it directly into any wanted format (as dv)...
    just a thought.......

  • Flash Media Server 3 / FlashPioneer Video Chat

Just recently, I purchased and installed
    'FlashPioneerVideoChat'...
I decided to use Flash Media Server 3 (developer addition)
for the local server. The problem is you can't login to the FMS
Server from the client end although all other communication aspects
work fine. When a connection is made the login starts but doesn't
open the application, it just keeps running. The Client side has
been debugged and tested so that points to the Flash Server and
whatever settings have to be made and/or code added to what file?
Could someone please point me in the right direction, Thank
    you much ...

Hi, but doesn't the linux version work on a mac?
    I'm a bit confused here.
I currently shoot video on a Canon mini dv camera and edit in Apple imovie.
Convert to Apple Quicktime and then import into Flash 8 video encoder.
I ftp the clips upto a flash server, from my mac and upload the playlist to my website host
    using Flash 8.
Don't tell me i've now got to get one of those dreadful PC thingies to complete the loop,
surely Adobe didn't invent this wonderful piece of software so it could run from a PC?
    Or did they?

  • Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder 3 - Video Hardware Acceleration Warning

I have been looking for an answer for this error for a few days without any luck.
I just loaded the Adobe Free Encoder 3 and the Flash Media Server (Free Version) on a Dell PowerEdge 1950 running Windows 2003 server standard edition with Service Pack 2.  The computer has an Intel Pentium III Xeon 2.66GHz Quad core processor with 4GB RAM.  I am using an Osprey 240 video capture card.
The computer was previously running Windows Media Encoder and it was working fine, but I needed to upgrade to a flash stream.
Whenever I start the Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder I get the following error:
"The video card's hardware acceleration level is set too low.  Open the Display Properties, Settings tab and click Advanced, then select the Troubleshoot tab and increase the Hardware acceleration setting.  Then restart the application, etc...
I did as instructed and it did not work. I also tried changing the display settings to lower and higher resolutions.  I also updated the video card to the latest drivers.  I double checked the hardware requirements.  http://www.adobe.com/products/flashmediaserver/flashmediaencoder/systemreqs/ and it looks like I'm ok.
I also checked the approved hardware list http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/flashmediaencoder/FMLE_DeviceMatrix3.0.pdf.
The Osprey 240 is not listed, but that seems to be working fine.
I'm thinking that the internal video card that I have may not be compatible with the Adobe Encoder.  The video card that I have is an ATI ES1000 embedded video that has only 16MB of RAM.
I have the latest version of DirectX - I ran DxDiag and it shows that I'm running DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904),  Under the Display tab it says that the DirectDraw Acceleration, Direct3D Acceleration and AGP Acceleration are not available.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Anthony

i have installed a FMS (Flash Media Server 4.0 developer edition) and a weblogic server on linux. The two servers communicate with each other via WebService (Axis2 on Weblogic 9.2). i can send some XML message from FMS to the Weblogic server and receive message. but the returned message from the Weblogic server is as follows:

  • Cannot associate media file types .swf .flv with Adobe Flash media player

I have been trying to associate these media types ( .swf .flv ) with Adobe Flash media player (9.0.124 latest from Adobe site) but cannot see the program in the list (looked under Adobe, Flash, Macromedia, Common etc) after loading. I have repeated the process, rebooted, and no luck.
Any ideas why a new program should not show in the Programs list ?

Thanks, I'm curious to find out what's different. I've repair disk permissions again using the one in Disk Utility instead of Cocktail with not luck As far as I can tell, all my issues seem to be occurring solely on www.adultswim.com and is sill happening with Camino, Firefox, Safari, and SWF & FLV Player. I'll keep checking other sites to see if the problem manifests itself elsewhere and I'll post any other changes I make to my system that might appear to help.

  • Proxy between Flash Media Live Encoder and Adobe Media Server

    ciao,
I encode from a pc with Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder to a server with Adobe Media Server. And this configuration works well.
    The actual configuration is:
    1) computer A (es: 192.168.1.5 - gw 192.168.1.254) point to computer B
with FMS url: rtmp://COMPUTER_B_WAN_IP/live and StreamName
    test?user=useruser&password=userpassword
    2) computer B (es: 210.22.11.134) with Adobe Media Server
But now I need to encode from Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder (computer A) to a pc (computer P) and then redirect the rtmp stream to the Adobe Media Server (computer B). Those 3 computers have different lan configurations. If I use rtmpsuck (http://rtmpdump.mplayerhq.hu/) on computer P, can I use it like proxy to redirect the computer A rtmp flow to computer B?
    I suppose:
    1) computer A (es: 192.168.1.5 - gw 192.168.1.254) point to computer P with FMS url: rtmp://COMPUTER_P_WAN_IP/live and StreamName test?user=useruser&password=userpassword
    2) on computer P (es: 10.10.10.8 - gw 10.10.10.254) I install
rtmpsuck, I open port 1935 on his firewall and I configure iptables
    like: iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp --dport 1935 -j DNAT
    --to-destination COMPUTER_B_WAN_IP:1935
    3) on computer B I do nothing.
    Now I have 3 questions:
    1- Can it works?
2- On computer P (the proxy) I must install rtmpsuck and rtmpsrv or I can install only rtmpsuck? I don't necessary need to record the stream
3- Is there another way to do this? Is there another software to redirect the stream?
    Thankyou
    M.

Please update us when FMLE OSX is deployed.  BTW, I get that the server market is dominated by LINUX/WINDOWS and this is a FMS add on. But, my shops creative workflow is Mac based for obvious reasons.  Encoding is part of our editing workflow and thus needs to be mac based.  Throw us a bone please.

  • Flash Media Live Encoder and Mac OS X

When will Flash Media Live Encoder be available on Mac OS X? It is ridiculous that it isn't yet.
Seriously though, who in the media industry is seriously working with Windows?
Is there a concrete statement on this from Adobe?
    Thanks and regards,

  • Class flash.media::CameraRoll could not be found

I'm working on an iOS app using AIR3.3 and Flash Professional. I've been editing class files in Flash Builder 4.6, but debugging in Flash Builder. Now I want to try profiling the app from FB, but when I try to do so, I get the error Main Thread (Suspended: VerifyError: Error #1014: Class flash.media::CameraRoll could not be found.)
I'm guessing I need to link to a library or something, but I'm not sure what or how.   The application compiles and runs correctly from Flash Pro, and the CameraRoll functionality works fine when I publish the IPA from FP and run it on the device.

    Still wondering...

  • Adobe Flash Media Encoder not detecting internal camera

I'm running OS X 10.8.5 and it won't detect the camera. I've installed the latest update from Apple that's suppose to address this error. After installing the new update I reinstalled Adobe Flash Media Encoder and it still doesn't work. The camera is also not being detecting on Skype. Reisntalled this as well. Anyone running into the same problems post update?

Verify that you are using the latest Flash version that works with you system:
          http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
If you need to update, use your Mac's Disk Utility to repair permissions.
    Then follow Adobe's instructions here:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/908/cpsid_90893.html
Be sure to uninstall your current Flash player before installing the new one.
Repair permissions again immediately following installation of the updated Flash player.
Be aware that the current Flash Player Preferences can be configured to block your camera in your Mountain Lion Mac's System Preferences.  However, you still configure Flash settings as shown here: http://tinyurl.com/5kjv3
