Flash media server and strobe media player

Hi,
any one is done by sample program with Strobe media player and Flash media server?if yes means please send me some tutorials or sample file with steps how to do.

Hi,
Thanks for your interest in FMS and Strobe Media Player. SMP is a out of box sample player that can play streams from FMS and no coding is required for its basic functionality.
It can play RTMP and HTTP dynamic Streaming / HTTP progressive as well as multicast streams.
Download the Strobe media playback from http://www.osmf.org/strobe_mediaplayback.html , host it on a webserver and launch in a broswer.
launch either strobemediaplayback.html or setup.html to setup your own player with different settings.
Thank you !

    Now that I have the Media server and 3 media client boxes, all the individual lists of schedules are gone.
    Is there any way to keep the seperate lists on the client boxes?
    Solved!

    No because the VMS is where are all the recordings are done.
    Client boxes use the tuners of the VMS.

  • Record playback is very slow between Flash Media Server and Flash

    hi all
    I have done server side recording successfully with red5 flash media server and can see
    that the flv record is being created properly.
    Then if I try to playback the record like
    NetStream.play("record.flv"), I see that stream playing is very very
    slow, for both of audio and video.
    And then if I try to playback the recorded file via using the
    filesystem path of it, everthing seems fine.
    Problem occurs when I try to sucscribe and play the stream of the record.
    PS : There is no problem with playing the published stream
    (NetStream.play("streamName"))
    Does anyone have an idea about this issue?
    If you need any additional information, please let me know.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards

    In a nutshell flowplayer delivers the video through your web
    browser. It does this via http protocol (port 80) and progressive
    download on any web server
    Progressive download finds the video on the server and plays
    it back through the player as it is being downloaded. 2 important
    things to take from this are 1, the video is being downloaded to
    the clients hard drive, at the end of the playback they will have a
    copy of your video that they can do whatever they like to and
    repost it somewhere else. 2, It plays back as it downloads, meaning
    if I'm viewing a 10 minute video from your site and want to skip
    ahead to the middle or end I have to wait for the whole video to
    download before viewing those segments. Your web host by the way
    will love you for progressive download because it will appear as
    though your transfer rate has gone through the roof. Once the
    request for the video is made there is no turning back, the client
    gets the whole thing whether they watch it or not.
    Flash media server uses the rtmp protocol. This protocol is
    an open socket protocol through port 1935. This is a two way street
    essentially. When the user views a video using FMS they basically
    get only enough of the video to keep the connection open and
    satisfy the required buffer to assure clean playback. The bytes of
    info that carry the video only go to the users memory, not the hard
    drive. This allows the user to jump back and forth around in the
    movie without having to wait for the whole thing to download.
    Hope that helps.

  • Window Media Server and Flash Server

    hi experts,
    I am rather new to Flash Media Server, but quite impressed
    with what flash server can do. however, i have a few questions
    which i could not find any answer on the website:
    1) Could Flash Media Server co-exists on the same server with
    Window Media Server? Can both run at the same time?
    2) Could Microsoft cluster service support Flash Media server
    or Window Media server? If not, is there any other way for high
    avail support?
    Thank you guys in advance.

    Hi and welcome,
    1. Yes they can co-exist on the same server. I would just
    keep WMS HTTP Server Control Protocol plug-in in disabled to allow
    for flash to utilize the port. I've seen more problems with
    firewalls blocking port 1935 for flash so the rollover to http is
    good to have.
    2. Yes, There's a decent article on using NLB for coldfusion
    here.
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/coldfusion/articles/nlb_failover.html
    Just susbtitiute coldfusion for flash. You could also do a
    simple round robin dns load balancing with a flash edge/origin
    configuration. This article talks about setting up redundancy.
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashmediaserver/articles/origin_redundancy.html
    Last but not least. If you don't want the hassle of
    maintaining and spending money on harware, server licenses, etc.
    and you need scalability use a CDN like Akamai. They have the power
    of thousands of servers to keep your clients happy and reduce your
    headaches.

  • Streaming Webcam with media server and cs3

    Can someone explain how to stream a webcam with media server?
    Ive got media server and flash cs3 (actionscript 2.0 in this
    case) installed, and I want to create a live webcam stream, but Im
    not really sure how to do it. I know it involves NetStream, and
    camera somewhere along the line but thats about it. If someone coul
    give me an iea of how to o it that owul be much appreciated.
    Thanks

    Clockwork_Killa,
    I don't use it with webcams, but there are some nice examples
    in William Sanders book, Actionscript 3.0 Design Patterns. It's the
    only book I've found that has any real world examples of working
    with media in Flash with fms2.
    Hope it helps. Good luck. You're going to need it ;)

  • Adobe Media Server and the Authentication Add-In

    The Authentication Add-In (used to authenticate Adobe Live Media Encoders connecting to FMS) will not install with Adobe Media Server because it looks for Flash Media Server and does not recognise Adobe Media Server.
    Is there a workaround or a new version of the Authentication Add-In?

    The new auth plugin still doesn't work against Wirecast/FM 1.0 agents. The only way I was able to block these agents was through the main.asc file you put in your application. On the function application.onConnect insert this
    if( (p_client.agent.search("Wirecast")!=-1) || (p_client.agent.search("FM 1")!=-1) )
            trace (p_client.agent + " FM 1.0/Wirecast agent detected ...rejecting connection from "+p_client.ip);
            return false;
    How do you require WireCast agents to be forced to enter a password?
    Where/how do you put this action script, does anyone have any examples?

  • Timecode/TimeStamp in RTMP live streaming using Adobe Media Server and FMLE

    HI There,
    Am trying to stream a video on to Adobe media server(using RTMP) through FMLE and play it on my web site using JWPlayer. i could stream the video successfully, but know i want to get the timestamp/timecode on the stream. does Adobe media server and FMLE support this kind of use-case ? if not is there any other way to achieve the same. any comments/suggestion/pointers appreciated .
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards
    Deepak

    If you're talking about nonstop, continuous streaming, your subscribing client will need to close and reconnect the stream every couple of days, as the server will run out of timestamps for the stream.

  • Double-byte Chinese characters between Flash Media Server and WebLogic 9.2

    i have installed a FMS (Flash Media Server 4.0 developer edition) and a weblogic server on linux. The two servers communicate with each other via WebService (Axis2 on Weblogic 9.2). i can send some XML message from FMS to the Weblogic server and receive message. but the returned message from the Weblogic server is as follows:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <root>

    <reports >

    </reports>
    </response>
    </root>
    the returned messages between the <test> and </test> tag can be decoded to "测试联通性" in Chinese via utf-8. why not the returned messages just show the result as :
    <test>测试联通性</test>
    Later i made another test: copy the war file in weblogic server to a apache-tomcat server, then the FMS send XML message to apache-tomcat and got the correct message as follows:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

  • Flash Media Server and Red 5 server

    Hi Folks...
    This may sound a little off topic, but please bear with me. I would like to know if it is possible to run Action Script
    Communication Files(.asc) on an red 5 server, just like how a .asc
    file runs in the Flash Media Server. Hope someone can advise. Thanks.

    I dont think Red5 supports .asc file, it uses server-side javaScript however. You may like to check this page - http://red5.org/ticket/204

  • Media server and Media live encoder running, but how do I view my stream?

    Ok. This is the first time I have ever used these two programs. I got the Media server running and connected and the Media live encoder streaming and connected to the server. I have not been able to test the stream to see if it is working correctly however, judging by the logs, it seems to be working. What I really want to know is the simplest instructions on how to view the stream from outside of my network, as it is broadcasting over the net. I am trying to do a live stream.
    With just these two programs running is there a link I can go to that it will automatically play the stream back?
    What exactly to I need to do now to be able to give someone my link over the net so they can watch the stream?
    Do I actually need a server to put the /applications/live folder onto?
    Thank you!
    (ps I have been reading the adobe documentation on this but I'm still confused)

    I am certainly no expert as I have just started working
    with this myself.  But I will try to help.
    To view the stream you need a client. As started in the Flash Media Server Development Guide:
    You can use any of the following clients to play video streamed from the live service:
    Flash Media Server sample video player (RootInstall/samples/videoPlayer)
    Flash FLVPlayback component (fl.video.FLVPlayback)
    Flex VideoDisplay component (mx.controls.VideoDisplay)
    Any custom-built application that runs in Flash Player, AIR, or Flash Lite 3
    You can pick up this link at http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashMediaServer/3.5_Deving/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d11a0773cf ae-7ff7.html
    I have a very basic example of a custom-built player that does work - I'm running FMS Dev (localhost) and a webcam.  Let me know if you need the example.
    Good luck.  I hope more experts will start to post help, as I am struggling with some things myself.

  • MS Windows Media Server and PIX/ASA upgrade

    I've just replaced a PIX 515 with an ASA5510 and have lost connectivity between a remote host running MS Windows Media Player trying to stream video back to a Windows Media Server behind the firewall.
    I've opened all TCP/UDP ports inbound to the server from any source IP, to no avail. When I put the PIX 515 back, the problem goes away. Port blocking is not the issue, since all inbound ports are open from any IP.
    Is there an 'inspect' statement or some other configuration in the new ASA that needs to be added, so it will pass the video stream as it works in the PIX 515?
    Will Cisco TAC assist in an issue that may or may not be application related?
    Thanks for any tips or direction,
    Marc

    I fixed it:
    CSCsd82714 Bug: RTSP fails with Windows media player
    Symptom:
    RTSP stream setup is failing with "inspect rtsp" enabled for clients to a
    statically translated server behind the firewall
    Conditions:
    Client on the outside is connecting to a server behind the PIX. The server
    has a static configured and access-lists allowing this traffic:
    static (DMZ,outside) 172.16.1.1 10.1.1.1 netmask 255.255.255.255
    access-list outside_access_in permit ip any host 172.16.1.1
    access-group outside_access_i in interface outside
    Setting up a connection, the client information is passed to the server.
    The server information is passed back to the host. The host then sends a
    reset before the SETUP message is passed
    Workaround:
    Disable "inspect rtsp" within the configuration

  • Questions on the capabilities of the Adobe media server and system requirements

    Hello
    We need to send multiple video streams on different computers and screens in our organization. To do this, we need a dedicated server with the following functionality:
    - transmit up to ten (or even more) HD and FullHD streams simultaneously
    - manage playlists in real time without relaunching stream every time after adding items to the playlist
    - imposing of any text and video effects
    - use a variety of sources: a folder with pictures for the slideshow, video and audio files, video capture devices, video streaming from other resources
    Is Adobe media server suitable for our tasks?
    What are the system requirements (I do not mean minimum requierements)?
    If we buy adobe media server, will it be enough? Or we will have to buy additional software products to provide all the necessary functionality?
    Thank you.

    1 and 2 is possible
    3 is not
    4 AMS is not an encoder and does not encode or create streams.You have to use other software for that.Adobe FMLE is for live streaming...Use third part software like manycam(a virtual webcam on your machine) to generate video sources out of slide shows.

  • IMac G4 as media server and family calendaring?

    Finally upgraded my wife to a MacBook Pro and would like to give the iMac G4 a new lease on life. I thought it would be cool to have it in the mud room of the house to help the family manage schedules as well as act as a media server for the house. My idea is to attach an external drive to it and run iTunes to for the home stereo. If I recall, the G4 only has 512MB of RAM - will it be able to hack iTunes as a server? Any other ideas on a use of G4?

    Hey KJ,
    Well depending on the model you can upgrade the ram to 1 or 2 GB. A full upgrade will require taking the bottom off. Find your model here:
    http://www.lowendmac.com/imacs/index.shtml
    Email me for instructions on taking off and replacing the bottom if you want to go that far.
    ..to help the family manage schedules as well as act as a media server for the house. ..run iTunes to for the home stereo...will it be able to hack iTunes as a server?
    I have many clients that use their old Macs for exactly this purpose. It should have no problems doing what you're thinking. Even if you only upgrade the easily accessible RAM in the base it would run Tiger no problem.
    I have a 17" 800 MHz machine that I use for displaying .pdf files and playing "guy" DVDs in my tech shop.
