Wait a minute - your URI should be rtmp://ip/vod.mp4:sample1_1500kbps.f4v and i think your code should be as below (made "live" to false as its VOD file) <!start_raw>     flowplayer("player", "flowplayer-3.2.7.swf", ,         // streaming plugins are configured under the plugins node        plugins:         }    });</script><!end_raw>  try and let me know

  • Youtube and flash games work, but other sites that use flash don't work

    Hi-
I'm currently using Firefox 18.0.2 on 2 different computers (Both Win7 64 bit), both with flash 11.6.602.168. Both have roughly the same programs installed and the same browser configuration. However, on one machine, flash works only on some sites. For instance, Youtube works perfectly, as do dedicated flash games. However, sites that use embedded flash applications fail to work. For instance, if I visit www.speedtest.net, where the test options normally appear is completely blank. Similarly, other video players fail. For example, videos in www.cbsnews.com play sound, but where the video should be is just white. I've tried completely uninstalling both firefox as well as flash, and installing previous versions, nothing has worked.

I guess it is a process of elimination, what is different ?
I would first of all check and experiment with Adobe FlashPlayer protected mode setting.
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Flash#Flash_Player_11.3_Protected_Mode_-_Windows
Also have you any filtering, adblock or security related programs installed which may block video or scripts. With you-tube check is it actually using Flash player, and not trying to use any HTML5 options so check any options and cookies.

  • GEO Location with Flash media server 4.5

Ok so here is what im having issues with... i have 3 servers france, LA,Florida all using Flash media server Enterprise.. now my issues is my site has 5 channels of feeds but i have people from all over the world and some get bufffering issues to my servers cause they are too far.. now if my floplayer or fms could somehow tell where they are and point them to the closer server is this at all possible?

I have not used Flowplayer but is there a way to find bandwidth between client and server using Bandwidth API's which FMS & AS provides - now before using any server you can do quick check and server which returns connection in minimum time and has better bandwidth and then choose that server. I think some delay uprfront is much better in terms of usablity than constant buffering.

  • Do I need Flash Media Server?

    Hi all,
Sorry for this question, but I'm a bit confused. Is there a
way to broadcast live flash video using just flash, or do I NEED
Flash Media server. I don't really have the budget for it, and
don't really know another option if Flash doesn't work.
    Thanks

You need a streaming server to do it. FMS is (IMO) the best
choice, but there are two others I know of
    Red5 (
    http://osflash.org/red5) . Red5
is an open source, free (as in beer), java based flash media
server. It's still in beta, but I hear it's shaping up to be a
    pretty solid server.
    Wowza Media Server (
    http://www.wowzamedia.com)
also has a java based flash server in beta, and the beta program is
open to the public. The projected prices (on their site) put the
price at about half that of FMS.
Just curious, how many people do you need to serve at once?
If it's 10 or less, you can use the free FMS developer
    license.

  • Why do I need Flash Media Server

    Hello
My company produces advergames. We have just made a football
quiz that streams all questions and video content (quite small
content). The quiz will be on thousands of websites and will
probably get over 4 million users within a month.
Do I need Flash Streaming Media servcie to help me with this
and can anyone give me any ideas to the problems that may arise
    from streming that much media?
    Many thanks

  • How do screen sharing in Flash Media Server?

Can one use the Flash Media Server to share a window that one
is currently working on with everyone so that everyone could see
(through the Web)? If yes, how can we do it?

FMS doesn't support screen sharing... Adobe is keeping that
    one for themselves.
What you can do (although it's a sloppy hack) is to use a
screen capture driver like Camtasia, and have the user (the one
with the desktop that is to be viewed) select that as their camera
source. You then treat it like any other live video stream.
This means that anyone who is going to show their desktop
needs to have the screen cap driver installed.

    Mon 12:02:00 AM: Connect : rtmp://localhost:1935/vod
    Mon 12:02:02 AM: Connect : rtmp://localhost:1935/vod
I only have one ip 209.239.120.100
and what should be my FMS URL
for the hekp thanks a lot

When you say this "but if call it from media live encode to stream from outside the server just dont works" - you mean you are trying to connect to FMS machine from FMLE which is installed on different machine - Am i right? - if that's the case - please check if your firewall is open for ports 1935,80.

  • Mac Mini as a Media Server

I'm debating between Mac Mini and Apple TV. My wife and I are making some final decisions about which we want to go with. And she wants my decision quickly so she can pick up an Apple TV before Christmas if that's what we're deciding on. However, I'm seriously leaning towards saving up for a Mac Mini as a home media server, to buy sometime next year.
But I have several final questions I need clarity on. Hopefully someone here can answer all or even just a few of these questions. I've been to three Apple stores, and they're all technologically clueless, not to mention trained to avoid discussing Mac Mini as a media server product.
    1. Can I get a Mini DVI to HDTV adapter, so I can use HDTV with the Mac Mini?
    2. Can I upgrade the hard drive of a Mac Mini through an authorized service center without voiding an Apple TV warranty? Apple says they won't do it.
    3. Anything Apple TV’s software can do, I can do directly with Front Row and iTunes using the Mac Mini, right? My understanding is that Apple TV is essentially a modified Front Row.
    4. NetFlix cannot be streamed with Apple TV without hacking it with Boxee or something, correct? (Which, presumably, also voids the warranty?) I know Mac Mini can stream Netflix through a Microsoft Silverlight component.
    5. I know I can always use screen sharing with the Mac Mini and my MacBook Pro so that I can control the mini without having to connect a keyboard and mouse. But can I also use the television (a 42” widescreen plasma) as a monitor if I have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse connected to the Mini? Does the OS actually adapt to the TV screen correctly? The last time I hooked up my MBP to a TV, it would cut off my menu bar, blow up the size of fonts, or I'd have to reduce the resolution significantly, making the OS appear incredibly small on the huge TV!
    6. To use the TV as a monitor, I assume I would need an adapter that converts the Mini DisplayPort to VGA or HDTV or something or another?
    7. Is there any way I can use a Mac Mini as a DVR for something playing on the television, or will I still need to get a DVR box from my cable company or Tivo?
    8. With Mac Mini, can I stream music from iTunes libraries on another computer? (An iMac PowerPC G5 running Tiger, and a MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard; both have separate iTunes libraries as they each have an iPod or iPhone that syncs with them; the MBP/iPhone is mine, and the iMac/iPod my wife's.)
    9. If Apple ever gets around to building a Blu-Ray DVD player for their systems, I assume the DVD player in the Mini is not replaceable?
    10. Is it my imagination, or does the $999 Mac Mini not actually include a *built-in* DVD player??
    11. Is there any meaningful performance difference in audio/video playback between a Mini vs. an Apple TV? Better or worse for either? I’m particularly concerned with bad/choppy playback of both streamed movies (from Netflix or the iTunes Store), and locally stored movies (purchased from iTunes Store).
    12. I currently don’t have any speakers or sound systems, but will probably add one some day. Sound currently just plays through the relatively decent built-in speakers of the television. With a Mac Mini, will volume be controlled through the Mini, or through my television?
    13. Lastly, are there any remote control options for the Mac Mini? Or, at the least, an app I can put on my iPhone to control the Mac Mini? i.e. remote for DVD control (accessing the DVD menu, changing chapters, rewind/ffwd, and so on.)
Many, many thanks and happy holidays to all...
    Dan

Hi- I'll have a go at your list...
    1. Yes. Belkin sells one. There are cheaper alternatives that work just as well.
    2. If you order from Apple online store, they can bump up the gigs for you, and keep the warranty intact.
    3. Yes, and perhaps better, with programs like Plex and VLC.
    4. Correct, but the 'hack' is easily removed, with no one knowing that you actually did it, should you need to send it in for service.
    5. Absolutely! I've got my mini connected to a 46' Sony Bravia TV, and am using it to write this post right now. Running at a full 1080p, and loving it.
6.The mini comes with a mini-dvi to dvi adaptor. You will need to buy a DVI to HDMI cable (as I mentioned in #1 above, Belkin makes one, and you can find alternatives for around $5 on the net.
7.I believe you will need some extra gear for this. The Apple TV also cant do this. It IS possible with a mini, though, and I believe impossible with an Apple TV,
    8. Yes. I am also doing that at this very moment- With home sharing turned on, I am streaming my itunes library from the iMac G5 in the other room.
    9. Not without voiding your warranty.
10.That is correct. The server version of the Mac Mini does NOT have a superdrive.
    11. No choppiness on my 2.26 gHz Mini with 4gb of ram, running a full 1080p on 46' TV
    12. If you connect via optical digital, sound volume is controlled by the equipment you have connected to it. If you connect via analog, the Mini controls the volume.
13.Air Mouse Pro is the iPhone app you should look at. There are others, but that will allow you to use your iPhone to control a whole lot. There are more advanced options like Jaadu as well
    Good luck

  • Linksys Wireless WRT610 media server issue, help appreciated.

Since I bought this router, the media server had been working okay.
suddenly one morning it stopped working and giving this message.
    Trial expired, please visit http://twonkyvision.com
I called Linksys customer support, (which is not 'engineering dept' by the way, someone in Phillipins)
they had no clue what a UPnP media server is, and what twonky is ?
Linksys routers come preinstalled with twonkyvision media server software, but this one stopped working.
    Any help ?

I've been havin the same troubles but i think i might have finally gotten it to work. TwonkyMedia is preinstalled on Linksys WRT610N and the "new" tab they created called "storage" interprets TwonkyMedia's actual media server pages into the Linksys configuration style.
    Type in your browser http://your-router-iport/
    Just like this http://192.168.0.1:9000/
It takes you to the actual TwonkyMedia setup pages in which Linksys hides from you. Click on the "Clients/Security" link in the left navigation area. I noticed that although it was set to allow new clients automatically, the client table was actually missing my Xbox 360 and PS3 as well as their static ip's.
Once i added them it worked again (cross my fingers). I can't wait until DD-WRT comes out with new custom firmware for this Linksys router. Its been good to me for awhile now but i hope this isn't a start of things going wrong with the router.

  • EA 6500 Media Server Drops Out

Media server works great until I get "Connection Lost" It requires a restart of the AE6500. I have tried stopping the media server and restarting then rescaning but this usually does not help. The FTP function does ot have this issue while streaming music. It only happens streaming Movies.  I thought this was just a media server issue since it happens on the Roku (I have two)  using its media app. But as it turns out, it also happens using plex on both the Samsung and Rokus (The PLEX media server is on my computer). Usually it only happens once and is fine after the router restart. USUALLY. It happened 4 times last night.
    Any Ideas?
    Thanks

You might reload the FW and set up from scratch and see if you can stablize it.
To safely update FW, I recommend doing the following:
    1. Save router config to file first using IE or FF with all security add-ons disabled.
    2. Factory reset the router with all other devices disconnected or turned OFF accept for 1 wired PC.
    3. Reload or Update the FW using IE or FF. Just download the FW file to your local wired LAN PC.
    4. Factory reset the router and then set up from scratch first and test with out loading the saved config from file. Check to see if any problems are fixed before loading the saved config from file. Sometimes you need to set up from scratch with out loading the saved config file. Just safer that way.
Are you streaming via wired or wireless when this happens?

  • Quicktime Media Server

I was wondering why no one talks about using QuickTime media server. All I see is folks talking about are XBMC and Plex.
Is there an issue with the QuickTime Media server? My purpose for buying the Mac Mini is to use the computer both as a server ans a HTPC.

The QuickTime Streaming Server (QTSS) feature was deprecated and removed from OS X Server a while back, so you'll have to get Darwin Streaming Server (DSS) working (there were reportedly issues with that at 10.7 and the project doesn't seem to be active), or install XBMC or Plex, or use HTTP live s[t]reaming, or maybe something like El Gato EyeTV software will suffice for your requirements.

  • Can I use the Time Capsule as a media server

As many, I have hundreds of CDs.  I was hoping I could store all of my music on the time capsule as well as movies I have purchased and pictures, and use it as a media server.  I've heard yes and no in other forums.  Any ideas?

The Time Capsule is a dumb hard drive with no brains. It is not a media server and will not ever be one.
If you want to put your music and movies on the Time Capsule, you can do so, just like you could place them on any external hard drive.
But, you will need to have a DLNA server running somewhere else on your network to be able to do anything with the data on the Time Capsule.
Best to use the Time Capsule as it was designed and intended.....for backups....not any active or everyday files.
Speaking of backups, if you place your music and movie files on the Time Capsule.....how will you then back up those files to another hard drive?

  • Publish multiple files - WIndows Media Server 2008 R2

Hi all - apologies am new to Windows Media Server and just installed a test one on a 2008 R2 Server. I can easily publish a single file but the Project I am working on will need to make 200+ files available to users. I know I can publish a
directory where I place the files but is there an easy way once the directory is published for users to select the file they want. Each time I've done it, I seem to just get a playlist of all the files.
On my test client I am using windows media player 11.0
    Many thanks

Hello,Sometimes on my main file server if user1 on \\workstation1 creates a directory on \\server\share... User2 on \\workstation2 sometimes can not see the directory for 20 minutes. This only happens on Windows 7 machines. I still have a few Windows XP machines (don't ask) and this is not a problem on XP.Also if I log into the server I can see the data.So to recap say my boss adds a spreadsheet to a share and sends me an email to open the spreadsheet. When I browse to the share from Windows 7 the spreadsheet is not there, but will show up 20 minutes later. But I could go to another Windows 7 machine and the spreadsheet could be there. Also this happens with renaming directories. It happens randomly and not all the time. The file server
    Server 2008 R2
Connected to a X2 shelf DASCould it be a storage write back or write through issue??Also...

  • Adobe Media Server and Multiple Storage Drives

We are running Adobe Media Server 5.  We have had one disk location for all media files up until now, but we are outgrowing our storage and need to begin having multiple volumes.
We need a way to specify that some files live on another drive.  We are at a college, and we want to have all of our nursing video on one volume by itself to free up disk space.
for example, we have always had everything in http:\\domain\vod\nursing or http:\\domain\vod\username.  We need to move http:\\domain\vod\nursing to e:\webroot\vod\nursing, but have everything else continue to work.  It's on the same server.
We have been on the phone for hours with Adobe support and have gotten nowhere.
We have tried adding a new application with the virtual directory set to e:\webroot\vod\nursing,
declaring variables in ams.ini, changing the httpd.conf file, etc.  We have not had any luck.
Everything always points back to this document:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/configadmin/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d119f2925 e64-7fc7.html#WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d119f2926bcf-7fea
We haven't had any luck with following those directions, and adobe support essentially told us they had never heard of this use case?
    Any advice would be helpful.
    Thanks!
    Joni

I talked to our support team and asked them to coordinate with you....And setting up virtual directory should be easy stuff.
