What is the difference between a flash message
and an ordinary text message (sms) in a Nokia
3120 Classic?
What purpose does a flash message serve?

I have just purchased the 3120 Classic. I can't find it on this site to download the program to my computer.
Do I need this programme to upload photos and video's to my computer?
What is SMS. Do you have to go online to use this?
Do I just use Bluetooth to transfer data?
I can't work out how to take photos and upload them onto the screen to send to anyone?
The book is hopeless and would like to see an online display which shows you how to do everything. There is probably one on my phone, but the book is so useless it doesn't explain anything very well. There is "if you can't do this, try this?

My boyfriend has just purchased a Nokia 1208, the book is less than useless and can't find any information on the screen either.

How can I keep just the large fox on my homepage? The flashing message about the buttons is a little too much!!

I was at least able to clear the new flashing message about simplifying buttons by clicking back to home or refreshing the page to get the stationary fox wrapped around the world back, now it will not do it. I have a medical condition that sometimes is aggravated when there is a flashing screen. Please help...

If you prefer not to see snippets on the about:home page then you can set the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref to an empty string on the about:config page.
Delete the storage\moz-safe-about+home folder in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed to remove snippets stored in IndexedDB and make Firefox use a default set.
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
You can reset the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref to the default value to re-enable the snippets.

Startup problem - "truncated or malformed library" flashing message

I was updating the software on my iBook G4 (hadnt done so in a while so it was about 11 items) and i think the battery ran out or something as when i next looked the screen was black as if it had shut down.
Now i cant seem to get it to startup again. The chime is heard then the grey screen with the logo appears but after that the screen goes black with a flashing message:
dyld: -sh truncated or malformed library: /user/lib/libncurses.5.dylib (file is empty)
underneath that is the date and time (still changing), followed by:
init: single user shell terminated, restarting
...and its just stuck here. sorry i im not too familiar about what to do in this situation. thanks in advance.

Yes, you should be able to use the Install Disk for your other iBook, but you may have to install it in a particular way. However, I would suggest you trying to reset your NVRAM on the broken iBook. Follow these directions (from http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106482) to do this:
1. Start up into Open Firmware by pressing and holding the Command-Option-O-F key combination during startup.
2. At the Open Firmware prompt, type: reset-nvram
3. Press Return.
4. When prompted for your password, enter it and press the Return key. It responds OK.
5. At the Open Firmware prompt, type: reset-all
6. Press Return.
The iBook should reboot and maybe it will boot Mac OS X. If not, you can do two things to try installing Mac OS X from your the Install Media for the other iBook.
1) Try booting the broken iBook from the Install Disk by holding down the C key (until you see Mac OS X begin to boot) after turning the iBook on.
2) If the Installer reports that your iBook isn't supported do this:
a) Eject the Install Disk by holding down the mouse button while the iBook is booting.
b) Put the broken iBook into Firewire Target Disk Mode and connect it to the other iBook. Turn on the other iBook and boot from the Install Disk. Choose to install Mac OS X on the drive in the broken iBook (which will appear as a Firewire hard drive in the Installer). Installing from a system specific Install Disk doesn't always work, but it's worth a shot. Good luck!

Lit up screen draining battery after flash message

I am using 3GS model. After my last upgrade to 4.3.3 after recieving flash messages my phone's screen lights up again after few seconds, and remains like that. It responds only after pressing home button after that. so if it is at night (during sleep), it remains on throughout the night & it drains my battery. please tell the solution to correct this error.

Nothing obvious here, but better get rid of that remnant of CleanMyMac2. Also check if all software with kernel extensions, launch agents and launch daemons is still necessary and up to date (if not uninstall or update).

Purchased email domain -- but get flashing message my account suspended

Do to move recently closed Verizon internet account AFTER purchasing the email domain for a year. My Verizon Services clearly shows my domain account and it's beginning and ending dates. However after logging in successfully every attempt at retrieving mail from webmail is met with a flashing message indicating your account is suspended contact technical support. Every call to technical support results in absolutely nothing -- not even a wrong idea how to fix. Thanks in advance.

Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you.
Please go to your profile page for the forum, and look in the middle, right at the top where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
Under “My Support Cases” you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions.
To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe".

Ovi suite does not clear flashing message indicato...

When there has been incoming SMS to E55 (034.001) and message was read via OviSuite 3.0.0.290 flashing message indicator remains blinking in the phone even display information concerning arrived SMS message was cleared on phone display.
Does anyone know if this can be configured somehow or is this a bug in Ovisuite or E55?

Flashing message

Hi there,
I'm using Compressor 3.5.1 and FC pro 7.0.1. I have the problem in that every time I run Compressor I have a fast flashing message on the screen asking if I want to connect to a network. This is a sole user mac there is no network. Could some one please tell me how I stop this happening.

Okay so I was able to get it to stop. First thing I tried was running "Compressor Repair" which I downloaded here:

However that did not stop the flashing message, but it caused several OSX firewall configuration messages to come up. Even after saying yes to all of them, compressor still flashed the error message..
So I went into security under system preferences and turned off the firewall. Bam! No more flashing messages, and compressor appears to be doing its job correctly.
Obviously this fixes the annoyance, but really I shouldn't have to leave my firewall off to avoid this problem. But for now I will deal with it since I have Little Snitch running.

Help with flashing message envelope in the home sc...

I was hoping if someone could help with the flashing message envelope in the home screen (next the the key lock, blue tooth, car kit symbols., which will no go away...Just keeps flashing
I have checked that I have no message in any of my inboxes, out boxes..ect
I have set-up email, sms etc. and cleares all boxes
I have tried a reinstall to factory original setup

What do you mean by "repeats every few hours"? Does the flashing message icon pop up all of a sudden, without receiving any messages? Sometimes it happens that messages that are received as many parts will be read by you before all of them have been correctly received. So, as and when a new chunk arrives, you will see this icon even though you had 'read' the message.
If you try the method described in the above post, you will not have any messages in your SIM, and I assume you have no unread messages in your phone either.
I would suggest you to change the Memory in use to Memory card (Messaging -> Options -> Settings -> Other -> Memory in use) temporarily, see if you have any unread messages there, clear everything, and then revert it back to Phone Memory.
If it doesn't work, try a factory reset (*#7780#). This will reset your messaging settings also.

N95 Flashing message question

The message symbol on N95 has just begun to flash. I have cleared all my data including the data in SIM message and it still is flashing and won't let me send or recieve messages. Any ideas....thanks

do you have your data backed up and/or synced with outlook or something like that?
when you pushed the red button, be sure you pushed it for at least 3-5 seconds.
do you have a copy of all the sis files for your applications and thier keys?
if you cant get it working you may have to reflash your device.
before you do, try a *#7380# to reset your settings.
if that doesnt work, try reinstalling your entire OS with nokia software updater. it would be easier to do a *#7370# but by using NSU it will actually download and install a fresh copy ensuring you get a good cophy on your device.

When i try to open Yahoo mail, a green box appears with a flash message that my session has expired and to sign in. when i do, the same message appears.

E5-00 - flashing message envelope driving me mad

So I bought a Nokia E5-00 a few weeks ago (a bit late to the E5 party but I wanted a keyboard, S60 with Exchange & published Spotify compatibility) and there's one thing that's been driving me slowly mad.
There's this message icon at the bottom of the screen. Just a plain envelope, not an "@" envelope. And it's flashing. And flashing. And flashing. And I can't work out what message I haven't read that's causing it. Obviously I have unread emails in my Exchange account but I can't believe that it will do that all the time as long as I have unread emails...? I have no unread text messages, and I don't have any other email accounts on the handset.
How can I get rid of it?

Flashing envelope could be caused by
1. You may just have an unread SMS from your last phone that is still saved on your SIM card. To check, goto Messaging>Options>SIM messages.
2. SIM card's message memory is full. Delete messages from the SIM card. Goto Messaging>Options>SIM messages
3. Phones messaging memory is full. Try deleting messages, also checking in, Sent and drafts.
4. Even though all your messages may be marked as read, just going down through the list and opening them all again one by one have also been known to resolve this issue. This could take some time but is worth a try if you do not want to delete any messages.

Repeated download newest version of flash message

i keep getting the download the newest version of the flash
player message on sites such as adultswim.com toonamijetstream.com
ect but im shure i have the newest version is there anything i can
do i have tryed uninstalling and reinstalling over and over even
system restoreing to a few weeks ago when im shure it did work

same damn problem I was probably having...When using IE and
deleting temporary internet files it disables/corrupts/removes
proper function of the adobe flash player....You can reinstall all
night long and it will claim a "successful" installation but, it is
not....YOU MUST FIRST UNINSTALL ADOBE FLASH PLAYER USING THE ONLY
TOOL THAT WILL DO THIS WHICH IS THE FLASH PLAYER UNINSTALLER FROM
THE ADOBE WEBSITE....BE SURE AND SAVE IT TO YOUR DESKTOP BECAUSE
YOU WILL BE USING IT FOREVER.....Once you have used the uninstaller
program you can then successfully and truthfully download the
latest adobe flash player.......WILL SOMEBODY FROM ADOBE FIX

When you clean out your temporary files this goes with it and
your flash will NOT operate...you can try and reinstall it all
night long...your dead...nothing....you must FIRST GO TO THE ADOBE
UNINSTALLER and run that program to uninstall COMPLETELY the

time it will take......

6210 navigator flashing message symbol

just bought a new 6210 navigator and since start up the little envelope symbol flashes in top right corner .i have no messages in any box...can't find anything in manaul..any ideas

This question has been asked and answered many times recently.
All you need to do is:
Menu > Messaging > Options > Sim Messages
Delete all messages that you see on that screen.

N86 - Flashing message symbol?

I've recently got the N86 and the message envelope symbol has been flashing even though I have no messages in my inbox, outbox, sent items etc? It's starting to annoy me lol. Any suggestions? Thanks

I have this problem too. Where do I find my Sim Messages. I got to Messaging > Reports > Options, and all I have are three options, show all open applications, help and exit.
