Flash movie embedded in Acrobat (Intel Mac)

I use the slideshow feature in Acrobat to give presentations.
Maybe that's a crazy idea, but anyway, I do. I have an Acrobat
slideshow with an embedded Flash movie that used to play very
nicely.
Now I've switched to an Intel Mac and Flash 9 beta. When I
play the slideshow, Acrobat gives me an error that it can't play
the movie, and then it wants to take me to download an additional
player. Okay, fine. But the download page it takes me to is for
QuickTime Pro. Will that really help? Why won't Flash 9 beta work
with Acrobat? I don't see any standalone player in my download...
that may have something to do with it.
Anyway, I would have hoped for greater integration with
Acrobat now that Flash Player is an Adobe app. How to bridge this
gap? Matt.

I suggest you post your question on Microsoft's own forums for their Mac products, as it's their software you're having issues with:

  • Back dating to Logic 7.0 to open OLD Logic 4.8 movie score on an Intel Mac?

    Hi guys
I've recently purchased a copy of Logic 7.1 off ebay in order to open and re-mix some old movie scores I produced using Logic 4.8 in the late 90's on a PowerMac 9600. The copy I bought came with the original L7 Dongle. However, I now realise that I can't run Logic 7 on my MacBook or MacPro as Logic didn't work with Intel Macs until 7.2.
The Apple Software Update site only updates to 7.1 ...... and there is no access to a Logic 7.2 from there (just 7.2.1 which says "please upgrade to 7.2 first")
Does anyone have any experince of Logic 7? I skipped versions and went to 8 from 4.8 using TDM in the intervening years!
    Many thanks for any solution

  • Problems with Safari, Acrobat, Intel Macs, and Life Cycle Form Mgr.

    Here is my problem:
A Mac user using 10.4.10, with Acrobat Standard Ed v.7.0.9 installed,
is having to approve purchase forms through Adober Life Cycle Form Manager
through Safari 2.0.4. When trying to approve the PDF forms, it tells her
she needs to have Acrobat v.7 installed, and only shows a white page.
Went back and launched Acrobat 7.0.9, and did the "Detect and Repair"
setting to verify the Adobe PDFViewer plugin was installed.
Said it was, checked the Library/Internet Plugins folder and it was.
Launched Safari, Safari's list of plug-ins does not show it as being installed.
Trashed the Safari .plist file, relaunched Safari, same thing.
Read on the Apple site that people were experiencing similar issues,
Read on Adobe's site that for Intel Macs, should be using v. 8.01.
Downloaded the 8.01 Acrobat Reader and installed it.
re-launched Safari, success, it says the plugin, v.8.01 is installed.
Go back to Adobe Life Cycle Forms Manager, go to view a PDF,
at 100% screen size, PDF shows correctly. Zoom in on details,
PDF goes blank, will not show details. Zoom back out,
PDF goes white page, no info displayed.
    My Questions:
    1. is it an issue with Adobe Life Cycle Forms Manager and Safari on Intel Macs?
    2. Is there a way to get a proper plug in for Safari, so that Acrobat will read the PDFs
    instead of the default Preview?
    thanks in Advance

  • Dreamweaver embedded flash movie - Safari problem

I have 3 flash movies embedded on a page using dreamweaver. Firefox plays either of the 3 no problem, Safari Only plays the first one.

    Hi users,
    Thanks for reply.
    Actually the problem is -
    For portrait dimensions are -
    width 20
    height 30
for landscape , obviously it will be
    width - 30
    height - 20
Thus , for second page - table width is 20 while page width is 30 and so 10 cm space remains blank on right side of page
user says that right side should not be blank, rather you extend table width to whole page width.
    thats where the problem is

  • Rendering Div contents in a flash movie

I have a webpage containing 2 DIV containers hidden using CSS. The site has a Flash Movie embedded. I want to render the content of these hidden DIV containers from within the Flash movie.
I'm using CS4, is this possible? and how would i go about doing this?
Any help would be much appriciated. Thanks for your time,
    Tony
    HTML
    <div id="sectionone">content</div>
    <div id="sectiontwo">content</div>
    CSS
hide sectionone div and sectiontwo div
    FLASH
Display sectionone within flash movie when requested

I would look into the ExternalInterface class.
ExternalInterface allows you to communicate directly to javascript on the page.  To make this work you would have the actionscript trigger a javascript function that then returns the requested div value.
    Something like:
    var div1String:String = ExternalInterface.call("getDiv1");
    trace(div1);
    || In Javascript block on page ||
    function getDiv1()
         return document.getElementById("div1").innerHTML;

  • Retro Migration: Intel mac mini to PPC G4 powerbook

I have a perfectly good top of the range G4 powerbook sitting around and my partner wants to use it to to go mobile, is it possible to use the leopard migration assistant to move data from an intel mac mini to a G4 powerbook, is it all just a normal transfer or is there anything special i need to do?

You want to be careful about using the migration assistant when it comes to copying items from the user library. Rather than use the migration assistant, I'd do a Finder copy of the Documents, Pictures, Music and Movie files and install the programs manually. If you want to give her her bookmarks, contacts, and mail, you can safely copy the Safari folder from the Library to the G4's Library. I'd set up Mail Accounts on the G4 manually and then export the mail from each mail folder and copy them over for import. I'd export the contacts and then import them as well.

  • Regular crashes on Intel Macs

I am seeing somewhat regular crashes on my Intel Mac, using
either Safari or Firefox, that seem to be due to
    Flash_EnforceLocalSecurity.
The tracebacks of the crash are always similar; anyone
    else?

Yes. Flash crashes frequently on my Intel Mac (Flash CS3, OS
10.5.2, all updates current). The crash is fatal. I get the
spinning beachball of death in Flash and _cannot_ force quit out of
the app. The only solution is to force my system to shut down.
I have seen no clear pattern to this problem -- except the
frequency (which is very high). Most recently it happened while
moving a text block on the stage.

  • Problem downloading files from flash movie?

For some reason, on my Mac Book Pro (running OSX 10.5.4) I am unable to download a file from a flash movie (.swf). All other macs in the office are capable, and I can download files from other sources, just not from a flash movie. It allows me to choose where to save the file, but when the download starts, the progress bar remains at 0%.
Does anyone know what causes this?

There's no such thing as Final Cut HD 5.0.4. If what you really have is Final Cut Pro 5.0.4, then you should be able to capture and edit HDV. But, you haven't told us what camcordr you have, so it's difficult to help.
The usual procdure for resolving this situation looks something like this:
    1) With the camcorder powered on and connected, open System Profiler, and see if it sees the camcorder. (SP is in the /Applications/Utilities folder.)
    2) If SP sees it, then with FCP not running, power down the camcorder, then start Final Cut again. When the window opens saying FCP can't find your HDV device, power on the camcorder and click continue. Try it again.
    3) If Log & Capture doesn't see it, then Quit FCP, shut down the Mac, power down the camcorder. Wait 20 seconds. Power up the camcorder, boot up again, open FCP & try it.
    4) If L&C still doesn't see it, then trash your FCP preferences, and try it again.
    5) Report back here.
EDIT: You are using the HDV Easy Setup, aren't you?

  • Trouble publishing Quicktime mov on Intel Mac

  • Flash MX on Intel Mac?

Does anyone know if Flash MX will run on an Intel Mac, or am

.MOV format is a video format - the longer your movie the
larger the file sizes. On Mac you can
export to true Quicktime Video, on PC it is a flash movie in
the quicktime player. If you need to
work with large video files - buy a bigger hard drive -
possibly an external drive - i have a could
of USB drives each about 180GB each and cost about $150.

  • Flash movie looks different in mac vs pc

I built a flash movie to display products. There are 3 different key frames. Two of them look the same on both mac and pc. Only one looks completely different.
It works on IE7, IE8, Firefox, and Chrome on PC. Everything looks exactly how it should.
I tested with Chrome, Safari, and Firefox on a Mac and it looks totall different.
I am using swfobject.js to embed the file and I updated flash to the most recent version on both machines.
With a windows computer, it looks like this:
On a Mac, it looks like this:
The two New Arrivals are encroaching on the image and there is no product name or item numbers.
Any thoughts on why this is happening?

Usually when a browser has an issue playing a Flash file it is due to the embedding code that is used in the html page.  Can you compare your code to another page's code to see what differences there are?  You should let Flash generate the embedding code rather than using some other software to do it if that is what you did.  Just have Flash publkish and html page, test that page in your various browsers, and if it works, copy/paste that code in place of what you have now.
