Flash movie lagging after publishing
Hello,
I have a short animation in the beginning of my CP-projects, like an intro. When I publish the project and play it either in Flashplayer or via the htm-file, the "intro" flash movie is lagging a lot. It's like it's not fully loaded even though I've played around with the preloader in CP.
When I first created the animation in Flash it was around 3 MB which I then got down to around 250 kb, which I thought would do the trick. It might be a bit better, but it's still a problem.
So the first slide with the flash movie is lagging when starting the published project, the second slide is also lagging a bit, but after a while it gets up to speed, like it has been loaded. If I then go back to the previous slide, the intro slide it's running a lot smoother.
So how can I make sure the project will run as it should when I start it the first time?
Kind regards,
Patrik
No worries, should've figured out you meant the size Anyway, the animation is 273 kb as of now.
I tried to add an all white slide with nothing on it for 25 seconds. It works a bit better, the following slides runs a bit smoother. Still a bit of a hassle to add a slide with no real information on it. Guess I have to be creative.
Kind regards,
Patrik

Flash movies stop after a random amount of time,
The problem that I am having is that flash movie files (Every website) play for a moment or two and then stop with the little “loading” symbol turning endlessly in the center of the screen. Flash movies used to work with no problem but over the span of the last few months it went from not working well to not working at all. In a perhaps related problem sometimes downloads will stop after a certain length of time and also seem to “hang” at a random spot. If I pause the reload and then restart it the program or whatever will usually finish downloading. This doesn’t happen often but does happen. The flash movie thing, though, happens every time – no matter what browser I have tried. (Firefox, IE, IE with no add-ons, and Chrome anyway.)
I have tried solutions that I have found all across the internet, including the Adobe and Microsoft forums, to no avail. I have unloaded flash with the Adobe uninstaller and reloaded flash. I have tried various flash releases – with and without a firewall on. I have made sure that I am using the 32 bit version of IE and even tried running everything in “administrator mode.” I’ve upgraded every driver that I can upgrade. I’ve used a registry checker as a last resort. I even used the Dell partition to return my computer back to the condition that it was in when I bought it and that didn’t change anything either.
Everything I have tried has made zero difference. In the hopes that someone will have another idea for me to try I am putting all the stats for my computer that I can think of below.
Qwest internet running at 20mbps
Flash 10.1.102.64
Shockwave 11.5.9.615
Microsoft Security Essentials
Tried both IE 9, IE with no add-ons, and now have IE 8 from when I restored from the partition image

Answering your questions...
Have you had a Virus and if so what Anti-Virus program removed it?
No virus that I am aware of
Since you have a Dell, McAfee came pre-installed? Did you remove it prior to Installing MSE? If so, did you use the McAfee Removal Tool or just remove it from Control Panel/Programs & Features?
My computer did come with McAfee which isn't on my computer now. I used a program called "Decrapifier" that removes unwanted preloaded software that comes with PCs.
Is McAfee still Installed?
No
Do you have any Anti-Virus/Spyware programs other than MSE?
No - I have just used MSE until now. I thought about using AVAST but was't sure what running 2 virus/spyware programs would be like.
Since MSE doesn't have a Firewall, do you use any Firewall other than Windows? If so, which?
I use Windows Firewall. I have tried both adding Youtube as an allowed program and switching the firewall off enirely with no luck.
Do you use a Router? Is it Wireless?
I do have a Lynksys router that is a little older but I've also tried hooking the modem directly to the computer.
Is Qwest wireless?
I use the wired ports and not the wireless for my connection.
Other than IE8, what browsers and versions are Installed now?
I only have IE8 now. I never reinstalled the other browsers after using the Dell partition. I prefer Firefox so having to use IE is frustrating.
I've also used "RegestryBooster" to make sure that my regestry looked okay.
Thanks again for taking the time to answer. I think you are right about me doing too much - LOL -
Flash CC crashes after publishing iOS app + publish settings are not being saved to file
I have two issues:
1. Flash CC crashes every time I publish an iOS app
2. My Publish Settings are not being saved
1. Flash CC crashes every time I publish an iOS app
Since yesterday Flash CC keeps crashing right after I publish an iOS app. The app is published correctly though. I tried everything from restarting my MAC, reinstalling Flash, removing the folder "Flash CC 2014" inside Application Support/Adobe. But all this did not work.
2. My Publish Settings are not being saved
Since the first day I installed Flash CC, it did not save my publish settings along with the .fla-file. I never had this issue with Flash CS 5.5. This was not a very big issue, but now every time I publish an app and Flash CC crashes I have to fill in all the publish settings manually. Now I'm getting frustrated. Even saving my settings as a preset, storing it inside a folder and importing it again, won't help. Then I will get the message: "Import failed: invalid profile file."
Can please anyone help me with these issues? It is quite time consuming to continuously enter the settings manually after every crash.

Audio-Video out of sync... lag after publish
I've been searching for an answer for hours on every message board Google knows, and I find several threads with my same question but without an answer...so here goes.
Captivate 4, Win XP Pro.
I've recorded a 92 slide 10 minute application demonstration with voice over. It it mostly demo mode, with a few full video sections. In edit mode, all the sound syncs up when viewing an individual slide. When I publish to SWF for HTML the file is 30 megs. About 1/4 of the way through, I notice the audio starts lagging behind the video. By half way through the audio is almost 5 seconds behind. By the end it is almost 10 seconds off.
I called Adobe support, and I was told to copy and paste the files ten slides at a time into a blank project. This did not help. They also told me to go to Audio > Edit > Project, and add silence peppered thoughout the timeline to push the audio out furthur. This was semi-effective when viewing from the begining without scrolling, but if I moved the scroll bar, and restarted the video, then the audio was now ahead of the video, because of all the extra time I had added to the audio tracks, as it seems when you restart in the middle of the file, the audio starts in the correct place.
What am I missing? How can I get the audio to stay faithful to it's slide throughout the entire video?
Any advice is much appreciated.Hi there
Sorry, but I have no definite answer to offer. Only a suggestion for a test.
I know that Captivate has a frame rate for its video. So I'm wondering if changing the frame rate would also have an effect on the audio synchronization.
As I intimated earliler, this could be a wild goose chase. But it is an easy thing to test and see if things improve, worsen or remain unchanged.
In Captivate 4, click Edit > Preferences... > Project node > Publish Settings node and try reducing the Frame Rate. Perhaps try changing to 20 Frames per second. Then publish a fresh version and test.
Please try this and see if there is any improvement.
Cheers... Rick

Flash movies lagging until movie is loaded?
Safari 8.0.2
Osx 10.10.1 yosemite
Macbook pro mid 2010
In Facebookmovies the movies is lagging until they are loaded (gray line follow up to right side) Audio i going on fine but picture are lagging every second. Youtube seems to be working fine? Any suggestion?
JesperLeo
Thanks for taking the time to respond.
For a normal, or common QT movie your suggestion would work perfectly. However the interactive QTs, which are created by exporting keynote presentations with "manual advance" selected, the grey bar does not show up on the export. All of that is fine - the interactive part of these QT movies is great (ever used one? It allows the user to advance the slideshow on their own, even though it is a QT movie, not an actual slideshow). So the posted QT sits, without any grey controls showing loading progress and without any other indication that it is fully loaded. Unfortunately, if the user starts to click to advance the interactive QT before it is fully loaded, it will just loop through the "slides" (or segments) of the QT that are loaded. So it has the effect of looking like it is a faulty movie.
It is a little unusual, these interactive movies, you can give them to users, via disk, etc. and the controllers and interactivity is preserved, even on PCs - it is an amazing and sometimes overlooked built in QT version, but I want to find a way to put it on a web and let users know when they can start to click and advance. I can make a simple demo to post for you if you like.
Having said all that, a "loading" snippet would be cool to have anyway.
Thanks again...still searching...

How do i make an image pause in a flash movie clip
Please can someone help me. I am trying to find out how to pause or stop an image in a basic flash movie clip, after it has entered from one side and before it exits the other side.
I have been trying to work it out myself for three days but no joy. I am practicing for a test with a training agency which gave me a disk to use but nowhere in it does it say how this is done. I am also having a lot of difficulty making stop start buttons work with this movie clip. I am using a trial cs5.5 version of Flash which expires in 7 days so i need to know this soon. I am up to speed on most of the features, its just this one thing that has me stumped. A lot of the tutorials or examples i have found on the net are very long winded and hard to follow exactly. Could someone let me know, step by step the sequence i should follow after i have created an object and made it go from one side of the stage to the other.Hi
Thank you for getting back to me. Yes i am using a timeline tween. I have an image on my stage which moves in from one side and out the other side. I am trying to stop or pause the image. The effect i will be asked to reproduce in my exam will be something very much like the banner on the website http://www,iactweb.com. If you go to this website you will see images arrive on the banner and pause before exiting the other side. I am fairly up to speed on all the aspects of getting this effect but i have forgotten what i learned during the course on how stop or pause the images. I am using the trial cs5.5 version of flash . Thanks again for getting back to me. -
On June 30th, I was playing a game called Lil Einstein's Manhattan project over at Newgrounds.com and the game although fine at first, later on in the advanced levels of the game, started to cause my browser to lag intensely and heavily. Now, when I try and watch other flash movies and animations, the flash doesn't run as smoothly, there are skips in the flash animations and movies, and it slows down.
I tried scan disks, I tried defragmenting my computer, I tried uninstalling and re-installing Firefox.. Nothing worked to restore the Flash.
But when I view Flash movies and animations on Internet Explorer, they run fine... but not anymore on Firefox.
Other Firefox users who have played this game also reported problems as well..
How can I fix my Firefox Browser and return the Flash running to normal?
== This happened ==
Not sure how often
== June 30th, 2010If you have already scanned PC with an updated Anti-Virus and still the issue exists then I would suggest some troubleshooting techniques to resolve this problem:
Update browser
Remove unwanted Add-ons
Remove unwanted Tool-bars
Repair Registry
Repair ActiveX objects and shared DLLs
In case of facebook and Zynga I would suggest to Check for Problems with your Internet Connection.Try to Update Java and Reduce the Number of Running Internet Applications.
Sometimes Multimedia content lag due to Hardware Acceleration, so disabling Hardware Acceleration should fix your problem.
Open Flash Video in browser
Right click on Video Player | Settings
Open Display Panel
Uncheck Enable Hardware Acceleration
If issue still exists then you can find some more techniques described in detail here:

Should I render a looping movie in After Effects or in Flash Pro?
Hello. I am using Flash Pro CS6.
Right now I am trying to make a simple SWF file that can play three looping clips via individual play buttons.
I made three FLV movies in After Effects. They are 80 frames , 30 fps clips, but those clips have lots of same frames. I mean one clip is something like this.
AAAA BBBB CCCC DDDD AAAA
AAAA DDDD CCCC BBBB AAAA
AAAA BBBB CCCC DDDD AAAA
AAAA EEEE FFFF BBBB AAAA
It contains just 6 frames(A,B,C,D,E,and F). As you can see there are lots of same frames.
I want to make SWF as small as possible, so to make it small, I should import still images and make a new timeline in Flash pro and render them as SWF in it?if I import still bitmap images(ABCDEF images) into Flash Pro and make a SWF in it, Flash Pro can do better compression than AE? If so I will remake the timeline. I really need better compression because I need to submit a SWF file whose limit is 5MB.
If I need to make my SWF small,Which is the best choice? Making a FLV in AE and import it into Flash Pro and publish, OR Making a movie using those still images in Flash Pro and publish? Give me your advice. Thank you in advance.Thank you for your advice.
Is it better to make a movie in Adobe Flash? Can you explain the merit? I always use AE and it's much easier for me to make a movie in AE, if there is not big difference I want to stick with AE timeline. Tween function is kinda hard to handle.
And thank you for the FLV info.I will upload them and use them as an external clip. -
Buttons do not function after Flash Movie
I have a page with a number of buttons and a couple of flash
"list" components. One of these lists, gives the user an option to
select one of two modules and then navigates to a marker where a
flash movie plays. When the user exits the flash movie. This is
done via and exit button in the flash movie itself they returnt to
the page where they started. After navigating to that page
following the flash movie many but not all of the buttons are no
longer functional, e.g they do not receive mouseEnters etc.Are the buttons in question Director buttons or Flash
buttons? In either case, is the code for these buttons in a
behavior that is attached to each button? Is there any part of this
code that disables the button? -
PNG or JPEG images in Flash not showing up after publishing from Captivate
Hello,
I'm new to this forum and relatively new to working with Captivate. Hopefully there is someone here with more experience that can shed some light on a problem I'm having.
I'm creating a presentation using Captivate4 that includes animation sequences that are built in Flash. Some of these Flash movies contain imprted PNG files. The flash movies work fine. They even look fine when previewed in Captivate. However, when I try to publish the entire Captivate presentation as a SWF file I get blank red rectangles wherever the PNG files are supposed to be. I tried using JPEGs instead and I still have the exact same problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks so much
DavidHmm, I may have answered my own question by looking at some other threads. It seems that changing the Publish preferences so that resources are externalize fixes the issue.

Can't see pics in flash after publishing
Ok, so I'm really new to flash...love it but am very novice.
I've downloaded a flash template and have made the appropriate
changes in regards to .swf location and pictures. As you'd expect,
my flash movie, which is really a picture slideshow shows up
excellent in DW, locally, but when I publish...NO NACHOS. I can see
the backround of the flash template but no pics...no movement etc.
The code for the page that has the flash embeded is attached
as well as the code for the XML File that came with the Flash
Template:
The free Flash template has an .XML file with it that I had
to edit as well. I had several pictures but, for the sake of
troubleshooting, I have one left. That code is at the bottom of the
code that I have attached. As far as my site locally goes I had the
Transaction Page (page with flash content) in its on sub-folder but
for the sake of testing, put all applicable files and photos at the
same level as index.htm just to elimate any syntax errors in
regards to location.
Any help would be appreciated.
ThanksWhat resource did you use for the code in the html page? It
is possible you need to utilize a javascript-based alternative
which has been around for awhile to get it to appear in your
browser. -
Does anyone know a fix for video being out of sync after publishing to Flash in Captivate 6?
I'm working in Captivate 6.0.2.325 on Mac OS 10.6.8. My Captivate file is just 10 slides, and 2 of them contain talking-head style video clips 30 - 40 seconds long.
Everything looks fine in Preview, but when I publish to Flash the video segments appear choppy and the audio is badly out of sync.
Also, I have one slide where the audio does not play after publishing, though it plays in Preview. It's a widget slide.
I have tried the fixes suggested in this forum. My Preferences slider is slid all the way to retain slide quality etc. I've tried changing Flash versions and forcing re-publishing of slides. I've tried copying all my slides into a new file. No luck.
I have spent approximately 6 hours trying to resolve this problem and I'm about at the end of my rope, so any suggestions will be much appreciated! I will have to insert LOTS more video segments to complete this project.
Thank you!Thank you, Rod!
While researching frame rate I came across this helpful blog posting: Crazy about Captivate: Lessons Learned: Video and Resolution in Adobe Captivate
This is the line that caught my attention: "I discovered, after several experiments, that if you publish a course in Captivate as SCALABLE with a video inserted, no matter what the resolution, it makes the video look pixelated."
When I unclick the "scalable HTML content" button before publishing, the video is fine!
Big sigh of relief! Now I just need to figure out why audio won't play on one of the slides (it has an accordian widget, if that's relevant) and why I can no longer use Effects (I get the message, "Effect file is not valid") -
Need to click on first FLASH movie to reactivate after second window
Hi there...
I am hoping there is a simple code-solution out there to work around the following problem:
I am building a mainly flash-base website that also incorporates a couple of pages of straight XHTML for some of the content. If I navigate from my main FLASH movie, the HTML pages open on click via the main menu (in their own window, "_blank"). When I close that XHTML-page to go back to the previous (FLASH, embedded with swfObject) page, I need to click on that original page once to re-activate the FLASH content (i.e. make the rollovers visible, make the menu work, etc)...Is there any way to avoid that extra click, and to have the original page remain "active"?
I hope this makes sense - I wasn't sure how else to describe the issue.
Thanks in advance for your help, experts :-)Thanks, but not sure I follow you.
Here's a simple example in a single AS file:
package
import flash.display.MovieClip;
import flash.events.KeyboardEvent;
import flash.ui.Keyboard;
import flash.events.Event;
public class Main extends MovieClip
public function Main()
stage.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN, onKeyDown);
function onKeyDown(event:KeyboardEvent):void
if (event.keyCode==Keyboard.RIGHT)
player.x += 1; // move the player to the right
When I press the RIGHT arrow key, the player object in my FLA file moves to the right.
When I publish this to a webserver, running the SWF file from an HTML file, I have to click the movie with the mouse before I can move the player with the keyboard.
Thanks,
Ole -
Flash 8 or 9 Publishing error after Flash9 installation
Hi.
I had my dear Flash 8 installed and everything was working
fine till I decided to install the Adobe Lab's Flash 9 AS3 Preview
Alpha.
Since then, inside Flash, every time I publish a movie and do
"ctrl+Enter" 2 times to simulate download, it gives me some kind of
error, not showing the contents and stopping the movie without any
kind of warning.
I already uninstalled the Flash and the Flash Players,
reinstalled everything and still nothing.
Can anybody hel me with this problem? I had some urgency on
solving this.Already uninstalled everything, flash, players 8 and 9, even
a trial of flex.
Still the same problem.
I have 3 scenes:
- scene 1 - preloader based on a simple mask moving over text
(on percentage = 100% jumps to the next scene);
- scene 2 - a logo and a simple animation with some blur
filters;
- scene 3 - the homepage.
The very problem is when I test the movie and click 2 times
"Ctrl+Enter" to simulate download. When I do this, the movie stops
at the beggining of scene 2 showing just the logo and nothing else
for a long time (really long time) till it starts play again to the
next and final scene.
Anybody familiar with this problem?
