Flash MX 2004 Patch / updates

Hi Hope this is in the right area.
At the school where I work we use a package system to deploy
software, and after deploying Flash MX 2004, we have found that it
keeps asking us for the product key. From what I have been told and
read this is a bug with in V7.2 and a patch was released to fix the
problem.
Does any one have a copy of the patch or know where I could
locate one to correct this problem, as I have 200+ computers that
will need the key.
I would appreciate any help with this problem.

Thanks for your reply unfortunately it had no effect on the
problem. I contacted Adobe support and it was their advice to use
the forum, as they could no longer provide support for this version
of flash.

the company that installed the network CSE have advised that a
network intall of studio mx 2004 might correct the problem. Could
any one provide me with instructions on how to do this?

Hi folks,
I'm having a problem with publishing (and previewing)
transitions and reading through the threads think it might be that
I don't have Flash Player 8 or higher. Flash Player 9 is installed
on my computer for web-browsing but when looking in my Flash MX
publish settings, the newest version is Flash 7.
Can anyone advise me how I go about fixing this as it may
solve my other problem? If anyone has any other suggestions of how
to fix the tranisition problem, they are also appreciated.

Nobody can tell you anything without proper system info or other technical details. You're talking about a legacy product, anyway, so I'm not sure what you are trying to do.

Updating Studio MX 2004 from Flash mx 2004?

Hi Guys,
just wondering if anyone knows an answer to the following.
I've got myself an update version of studio mx 2004 with
flash pro (with a view to updating to CS3 web premium). My problem
is this, will it update from flash mx 2004 standard or do I need an
earlier version of flash for the update to work?
I know it needs only one application to update, but is flash
mx 2004 standard suitable?

Macromedia Flash MX Professional 2004 Video Update does not work

When I import an MPEG video into Flash MX 2004 Pro, it works
every time except when I try to edit the video and create mulitiple
clips. If I try to create clips, it lets me go through the import
process, right up to when I click Finish. When I click Finish, it
just goes back to the first Import Screen (where it asks whether
you want to import the whole video or edit it first). It does not
import the video at all. This seems like it is an obvious bug. I
have tried installing the Macromedia Flash MX Professional 2004
Video Update and that does not help. I'm on a Windows XP machine
with Flash MX 2004 Pro v. 7.2. Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm on a Mac and don't had this problem. But I do watch for
video issues on this site and haven't seen this – I might
have missed a few, but most Flash users are on Windows so I think
it would be common if it were something wrong with Flash in
general.
Then again, what do I know? Because the more I'm thinking
about it the more I think I might have had this problem. But I
really can't remember. And sorry to say the solution was to not use
the import function to edit my videos.
You also might want to just see if it is the format of the
file you are importing. Perhaps a different source will work
better? I'm just grasping at straws here.
If you have many of these to do and a budget I suggest
getting a third party tool like Squeeze. Otherwise if you have some
third party editor you might want to use that.

I've selected the automatic update option in Flash Player, why do I continue to get update notifications?

Sunil, I just want to verify you are pointing me to the link under "Progress bar hangs during download / Unable to connect to server / Unable to download metafile."
If yes, then that is the file I originally downloaded based on a March post I saw here.
I just tried it again, and it (by "it" I mean the Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers from download.macromedia.com) installed 11.6.
After the installation process completed, the dialog box notified me it was version 11.6, and when I went back to, the "find version" page, 11.6 was confirmed.
I did not download the exe for Internet Explorer, as I almost never use that browser.

Photoshop CC2014.2 won't install patch updater. Error code U44M2P7

This is super frustrating. Creative Cloud just sent out a updates to all my software. Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, Flash, etc... but it will not install the updates to any of them. I get errors on all of them.
Here's what I've tried
• Uninstalling and reinstalling. The install goes fine till I get to the Patch updater. That's when I get an error on all the software.
• I've logged in as root user and that doesn't work.
• I extracted the update to run manually and still get an errors.
If I try to do the update from the CC app, I get this error:
"Unable to extract the downloaded Files." (U44M1|210)
The error log doesn't really help me. This is the summary

Can anyone assist - I have Flash MX 2004 Professional V7.2
but do not seem able to find the Active Content Update Extension
for this version. The downloads available seem to be for V7.0 or
Flash 8.

just change the codebase attribute in the object tag to

Macromedia Flash MX 2004 wasn't working

I'm another rookie for macromedia flash mx 2004 ver 7.2 and
updated to licensing 4.0.0.32. When I start the program, it pop up
and initializing fonts..etc..then disappeared..nothing came up. I'm
just wondering how can I use flash mx 2004?

Flash Plug-in security updates

When there is a critical security patch update, I always see a link to download the latest Flash Player security update. But I do not see any specific link to security updates for Flash Player Plug-in for Other Browsers. Why is that? Does Flash Player security update download cover both the Active-X (IE) and Plug-in (Firefox and other browsers)? Perhaps I do not understand how Flash Player is related to the Active-X version and the Plug-in version. Thanks.

It's because the web page detects the browser being used and therefore displays the appropriate download. If you want to see what a website detects when you visit a page, go to this site: http://whatsmyuseragent.com/
I think it's fair to say that users of other browsers don't use IE very much. You still need it to go to the Windows Update site if you use Windows XP, but Vista/7 can update via Control Panel, so IE is superfluous in that environment. I still haven't installed Flash in IE myself yet.

Webi scheduling error in BO 4.0 SP04 after security patch updates in windows server 2008 R2

We are getting below error in BO 4.0 SP04 Web Intelligence report scheduling after security patch updates in windows server 2008 R2

We have reverted back security patch but still giving above scheduling problem in BO 4.0 SP04 WebI and we can view and refresh report.

I did not implement any user exit/ badi. Dump is saying that my smarform function module does not exist in the se37 library.
I have excuted my form through se38, that time is working fine. When i tried through output type it is going to dump.

Unable to install Flash 10.0.2 update on Windows 7

Hi to all,
Recently I installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 32 bit on my HP laptop, and installed all the CS4 applications of Design Premium. The installation went fine, and almost all the updates (Photoshop 11.0.1, InDesign 6.0.4, etc..) installed with no problems. The only one It doesn´t allow me to install is the Flash 10.0.2 update. It gives an error that "the installer detected a problem and cannot continue" and then shows some options to ignore the update.
Any suggestions?

I had the same problem - the auto-updater constantly failed to install the update. I ended up resolving the problem by going to
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flash/updates/10_0_2/win/Flash_10_0_2_AdobeUpdate.exe
and downloading the update manually. It updated fine.

Patching/updating Java Applications in the WebLogic environment.

Hi All,
I'd like to get some feedback on our process and hear if there is some better/different
ideas out there on how to handle patching/upgrading java applications in the WebLogic
environment.
Here is our process:
1) We build using ANT our Enterprise application.
2) We deploy our application using InstallAnywhere to drop the structure into
an environment.
If a patch or update is needed, we again build the Patch/Update using ANT, generating
checksums for each file in every ear/war/jar file as well as any supporting files
(.xml, .properties, .sh, etc.) used in the production structure. We then compare
checksums against what is in production and come up with PATCH_(ear/war/jar) files
with only the changed classes and duplicate production structure with the changed
supporting files.
Using ANT scripts and InstallAnywhere, we backup the files to be replaced in production,
overwrite supporting files, extract packages (ear/war/jar), overwrite classes
with new ones, re-package the ear/war/jar files into production environment and
restart the server.
We patch at a class level due to the configuration settings internal to the package
files (ear/war/jar) that we don't want the customer to have to re-configure everytime
we do a partial release.
Right now, the whole process is automated except the creation of the Patch ANT
script that extracts, overwrites updated classes, updates manifests, then re-packages.
Any ideas on improvements or complete re-engineering of our process to help so
we can get closer to 100% automation?

The chances of two applications running at exactly the same time are miniscule. If they each have a connection to the database, and are both trying to modify the same table, then chances are one will be slightly after the other its changes would be committed last. In the case where one might delete a row just before another tries to access that row, you're going to have some sort of problem. However, those circumstances are pretty rare, and even so, some small amount of exception handling can deal with them gracefully.
