Flash MX 'Application Error'

Whenever we try to run Flash MX it loads for a while then we get an error message saying that an instruction at a memory couldn't be "read". This happens on every machine in one room and about half the machines in another. We set up a virtual machine based on the ones we were having problems with and it still didn't work so we were wondering if there's any known problems that we could look into. I have two machines right next to each other that are virtually identical but it works on one but not on the other.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? I understand that this is pretty old now but if anyone has memories of dealing with such a problem I'd appreciate any advice I can get.
Thanks.

Thank you, Steve. I couldn't find anything at all on Adobe's site (and believe me, I tried). I finally called them up, and they said that they would charge me $39 for answering the question because I'm not using the current version of their product. I just bought this version of Flash directly from Macromedia about 18 months ago, so I'm pretty peeved at Adobe for being so mercenary about.
Anyway, I'm ranting... Sorry. Thanks again for the reply.
Cheers,
Tom

I keep getting the following Application Error message.
I have tried reloading the program but the problem persists,  I am using Firefox 31 on Windows 7 OS
Any ideas how I can solve this issue.

I have found sometimes you need to run Adobe's Flash uninstaller, before running the installer.
Typically the first whole number of a version is usually a major upgrade, versus an update, and hence why the built-in update function fails to see the new version on many software.
As for "safe", clone backup in case there is a feature you don't like about the new version, so you can always run it like it was before.
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-1992
You don't know how Adobe might alter the overall PDF frameworks on the computer when the upgrade is completed.  If you don't clone, you may find yourself stuck with whatever changes they make.

  • Safari Application Error "The memory could not be read"

First of all I would like to say I LOVE Safari (for Windows). Because of it and iTunes I have recently purchased a mac. Now the problem.
For the past 2 weeks or so this has been happening. When I start up Safari I get an error message that says
    Safari.exe - Application Error
The Instruction at "0x121f377b" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program.
Now here is where its funny....Safari works, just every time i open it wether it a new window or at startup...this comes up. Does anyone know anyway to fix this and any useful tips for Safari/internet connections/macs?

Actually, I spoke too soon as far as AVG Free anti-virus' link scanner. The next time I opened Pandora internet radio, I got the error again. Looks like it has something to do with adobe flash player for Safari. I removed flash player and i could not get the error. As soon as i re-install and run a website with flash, it gives me the error again until i restart my machine.

  • Adobe Flash CS4 installation error

    Hello,
I just downloaded trial version of Adobe Flash CS4 (Englisth|Windows) but after unpacking the archive and starting setup.exe I am getting error msg (see att). Are there any error logs with more information??
Text is in czech language so here's translation:

An error occured while installing. Ask for help at Adobe support.

    Windows Vista Ult. 64b
    Thanks for any help!

There is no fix. Flash Pro is not compatible with Win 8 even in CS6. There are dependencies with Flash Player components and the way it's handled in Win 8 prevents it from working liek the app expects.

  • Flash Player Install Error: Memory can not be "written"

Actual error (with fake addresses because I get a different address each time it fails this way) is
    CAPTION: iexplore.exe - Application error
TEXT: "The instruction at "0x99999999" referenced memory at "0x99999999". The memory could not be "written".
So far I have used the uninstall_flash_player.exe and tried the reset_fp10.cmd with the MS subinacl.exe tool. I have used a registry
scrubber (RegScrubXP) and re-tried all of the above. I still can not get the flash player to load and I still get the error each time I try. I have run IE8 manage add-ons and the flash player is not listed. I am at my wit's end, I have searched everywhere and tried everything. This is a brand new computer with very little other than MS products loaded. Nothing is loaded that is not loaded on my other 3 computers that run flash player 10 just fine. I have run complete diagnostics on mt Thinkpad t500 and all checks out.

I had the same problem as previous described.  Some how I lost Flash Player.  The first indication I got was when I went to Utube site and tried to view aa clip.  It came back with an error saying I had java turned off or Flash Player was not installed.  It gave me link to install flash player and tried to install it and failed with memory written error.  The error message also said it was coming from Abode DLM. I was also at the point that a banner appeared that said an Adove system was trying to install and add on DLM.   This also caused IE to hang and it took quite sometime to close the IE to get out this hang condition with a bunch of error reports being sent to MIcrosoft.  After going to Sun System and testing my Java which it said was ok, I tried to install flash player.  Same thing happen.again.  I download Flash Player uninstall and ran it.  Tried install again.  Same results.  I found Adobe tech note how to uninstalled DLM.  I found none of the modules that it indicated should be deleted.  I tried installing Acrobat Reader which I already have on the system same error.  I found this forum and tried manual loading of Flash Player and that worked.  Now things are working ok except that if I try to download Flash player It still fails but the error has changed a little.  I hear the beep to approve the install of DLM addon  but IE fails cleanly and when I close the window said had the following error. I think the problem is DLM add on related.
    I am running IE V 8.0.6.001.18702

  • Adobe Flash Player 10 Errors (Safari and Games)

    Hello,
Sometimes, when watching Flash videos on YouTube or other sites that have flash videos embedded, Adobe Flash Player 10 errors come up with the option to either 'Dismiss All' or 'Continue' is provided. Sometimes, Safari crashes and I have to relaunch when I choose either option, but sometimes the video keeps playing when I press either button and nothing happens.
Usually, this problem hasn't been affecting me but I recently got the Sims 3 and when I'm at the Game Launcher window, before I can click the play button, this Flash Error pops up. When I click Dismiss All/Continue, the game says I am running an unauthorized version and there will be limited features. Then the game quits. This only happens sometimes but is quite annoying.
    The error that occurred was:
    +Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2036: Load Never Completed.+
Can someone help me out here?
Do I need to reinstall the Flash plugin or Flash CS4?
    Thanks!

    Hi
Yes, a reinstall of Flash would be a good start. First, uninstall Flash. You can get the uninstaller here.
Next, install the latest version of Flash.
Once the installation is complete, via the Finder: Applications>Utilities folder. Open Disk Utility, select your HD on the left, then "repair permissions".
When complete, restart the computer, then try Flash in Safari.

    Has anyone experienced this?

    Hi,
Just a thought, as I had seen errors like these due to an anti-virus software running on the host.
Perhaps could try disabling the AV for sometime and see if this still happens.

  • Windows 7 Speech Recognition causes Flash Player exception error in Firefox

    I have a strange problem.
My system is Windows 7 Ultimate X64 SP1.
Today I started working with Windows Speech Recognition. I found that if I have Speech Recognition running before I launch Firefox 30.0, I get a Flash Player Plug-in Exception error when I load certain websites.
The version of Flash Player (Shockwave Flash) is 14.0.0.14.
I also have SilverLight Plug-In 5.1.20913.0 installed and active.
The problem does not occur when I use IE 10.0.9200.16798 to load the same website.
One of the websites on which the error occurs is: www.bikeforums.net. The error appears as soon as the home page is finished loading.
The exact error reads as follows:
    FlashPlayerPlugin_14_0_0_145.exe - Application Error
The exception unknown software exception (0xc0000710) occurred in the application in location 0x774aa289.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
Since IE works properly, it should not be Windows problem. Please try to check Firefox forum for an answer.
