Flash'n Yellow

Finally got my AE Base station up and running. Everything going along great on internet printed a couple of things and all of a sudden I see the "Flashing Yellow. Went to AE utility/summary and status tells me"Disk needs repair". What disk, and is there something I ca/should do?

Thanks for the help, all is now well.

  • Text on some sites flash with yellow background

Since upgrading to 3.1.1 I've noticed that some pages have text areas that flash with a yellow background when loading or when an ad on that page changes. Huffingtonpost.com is the most common offender, but it has happened on other sites as well.
The yellow background "flash" seems to be contained within a box or frame in which the text sits. It's brief and then the background reverts to white.
Just to be clear, I'm not referring to any graphic that is Flash-based. I mean an area on the page that flashes a different color before reverting to its normal white.
    What's going on?

  • Nokia 1020 Flash gives Yellow Tint - White Balance...

I have the new Nokia Lumia 1020.  Unfortunately, every time I take a photo with the flash, it gives a yellow tint; the white balance is WAY off.  I called support and Nokia Support said to swap the phone, which I did at AT&T.  The 2nd phone has the same issue.  I searched online, and several others are having the same problem.
When will a solution for this come out, assuming one will?
    Thanks.

yep suffering from this too and there are quite a few threads popping up on the net about the issue too

now i love my 1020 just like i loved my nokia 808 but there is defo something wrong with the settings and jpeg processing on the 1020
on one of the forums i use a users examined the exif data of a yellow tinted image and the shutter speed was really slow and the iso really high , i think this is where the problem lies , on an xenon flash shot why is the phone choosing a very high iso and very slow shutter speed surely this will lead to polloution of the picture from other light sources hence the orange/yellow glow/tint to many pictures taken under ''fake'' lighting
In auto mode even with flash on, shutter speed is always 1/30 and ISO is pretty high (1000 or above). I don't know why these settings are this way with flash in Auto, but that seems to be the reason for the yellow tint.
a user has come up with a fix which is
Try this: force flash on and then either set ISO to 400 or a fixed shutter speed of 1/100 or even faster. I noticed that the flash fires shorter and brighter that way. Surprise: yellow tint is gone.
so as you can see the camera is simply selecting the wrong settings for the scene , why an earth is the camera selecting such a high iso and slow shutter speed for an xenon lit shot , surely thats ridiculous , it seems it to me
nokia please can you look into this asap
according to your response in this thread you have been aware of this for a while now and i know software can be very complex but this is something that needs to be fixed and is causing a lot of people hassle with the ''best camera phone'' the world has seen
i am sure it can be fixed easily via software and i look forwards to an update or resapinse from nokia about the issue

  • Flashing Green/Yellow Light & using my iPod for the first time

    * Quick solution to my woes, and explanation afterwards*
Follow instructions exactly. Do not attempt to do anything else unless specified. Make sure you have Win XP with SP 2, and verify that your USB ports are working before proceeding. Reboot the machine when prompted after installing any software.
    1. Charge the Shuffle overnight. Once charged disconnect it before proceeding. If you've already done certain steps then move to the next step.
    2. Install Updater and allow it to update the Shuffle.
    3. Once updated, install iTunes.
    4. Create a 'Test' Playlist in iTunes and drag about 30 music files into it from a folder on your computer. Do not drag music anywhere else. Try mp3's as a start.
    5. Plug in the Shuffle. Do not attempt to drag music in to it. Close any error messages you may see.
    6. Click Start, and 'Restart' your computer (do not 'Turn Off' or power down).
    7. Start up as usual, allow the computer to fully reboot. Do not rush it. Once everything is started up normally, open up iTunes.
    8. You should now see the Shuffle in the side panel. Drag the mp3's from the 'Test' Playlist in to the shuffle. Go to the actual 'Shuffle' in iTunes and verify that you see them in there.
    9. Now pull the Shuffle from the USB slot and plug it back in immediately. If your USB mouse stops working, allow step 10 to continue on its own.
    10. You will now see the files transferring. Do not interrupt it. Once it says its complete, disconnect the Shuffle, plug in your headphones and enjoy.
    11. To update with new tunes, go back to step 4 and follow the steps logically.
This is the only quick workaround. If the above steps don't work, you are not following my steps correctly, or your Shuffle is in fact dead.
    * This was the only thing that worked for me. good luck! *
I'm an engineer. I've been programming and working with PC's for 24 years. This issue was frustrating, but I also enjoy a challenge so I hammered away at this issue. I've talked with Apple Tech Support and I did some very basic troubleshooting with them (even though I knew they would fail), and spoke with my computer/electrical engineer buddies but even they were clueless. Now this is a problem that I enjoyed so I rolled up my sleeves for a week and did lots of trial and error when I had the time.
I knew that sending it in for repair or exchanging my Shuffle wouldn't make any difference. I verified that my Shuffle was in fact functioning just fine as a memory card, and that my computer was running smoothly.
I did the usual manual install of USB drivers, tinkering with this and that, and toyed with motherboard drivers, tried different USB cards, compiled drivers, etc. Nothing worked. It didn't make sense that it worked on other XP computers, but it didn't work with others. I've noticed that at on some computers that other USB devices would disconnect. It started to make sense...
The imcompatibility issue could be within the Shuffles firmware and/or iTunes, because other iPods seem to work with no problems when connecting to iTunes. I did many forms of troubleshooting and through deductive reasoning I've learned that the Shuffle firmware/iTunes are the cause of the trouble. Why? Because when iTunes is not installed, the Shuffle works just fine as a memory card and there are no problems with other USB devices. As soon as you install iTunes things start to magically STOP working when the Shuffle is plugged in. This includes other USB devices to no longer work when iTunes and Shuffle are plugged in at the same time (an annoyance if your mouse happens to be USB). All USB devices worked flawlessly up until iTunes is installed, and the Shuffle is plugged in.
I do not work for Apple, but if they're still supporting this product I have provided many valuable leads in this posting. I hope it's helpful.
    Athlonx XP Windows XP Pro

    Update:
Well I was hoping that the new iPod Updater and new iTunes would fix the glitch, but it hasn't.
I've also completely replaced my motherboard for a newer more modern one, and I assumed that with a different chipset it would have fixed it, but it hasn't.
My work around still works though. At least the updates didn't make things worse.

  • I bought an Apple Airport and the light is flashing a yellow light! I did this because I live in a basement and the modem is in the first floor. I followed the instruction manual and the Airport is not working still. how can I make my Airport work?

How can I make the Airport work?

If there is a modem and not a router on the first floor, then the only possible way to get it to work would be an Ethernet cable connection between the modem and the AirPort Express device.
I think you need to describe your situation in more detail.

  • HT5211 Airport Express 802.11n (2nd Generation) flashing 3 yellow then 3 green.

It reports Error -6742 when access is attempted using the Airport Utility and connecting directly to it via the Ethernet port. I have tried resetting several times with no change in the condition.

  • When I turn on or restart my Macbook Pro Retina 15", my entire screen flashes completely bright yellow for a few seconds and then it goes to the normal Welcome screen.  How do I fix this??

    Hi Everyone,
This problem just started today.  When I turn on or restart my Macbook Pro Retina 15" (Mid 2012 version), my screen is light gray like normal, and then after a few seconds my entire screen flashes completely bright yellow for a few seconds, and then it goes to the normal Welcome screen (where I choose to login as myself or a guest user).  This suddenly started today and has not stopped since.  This keeps happening every single time I turn on or restart my computer.
Yesterday I installed all the Mavericks and other updates that were available in the App Store, so I'm wondering if this is related to that since this never happened prior to my doing those updates yesterday.  When I first installed the new OS X Mavericks (10.9.3) update, it went through the whole installation process (took about 10 minutes), and then during the installation I got an error message saying that it couldn't verify my iTunes application that was on my laptop, and then my laptop finished installing the updates.  Then once my laptop restarted, the App Store "Updates" section said that I had to do the whole OS X Mavericks (10.9.3) and iTunes (Version 11.2) updates all over again.  So my laptop did the whole installation again (took about 10 minutes, but this time I didn't get that "iTunes error message" during the installation process).
Now, when I go to the App Store "Updates" section, it says the following under "Updates Installed in the Last 30 days":
-Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update (Version 5.05) installed May 15, 2014
    -OS X Update (Version 10.9.3) installed May 15, 2014
    -iTunes (Version 11.2) installed May 15, 2014
    -OS X Update (Version 10.9.3) installed May 15, 2014
    -iTunes (Version 11.2) installed May 15, 2014
    -Security Update 2014-002 (Version 1.0) installed April 22, 2014
I'm wondering if this flashing bright yellow screen upon bootup is related to the fact that my laptop installed the OS X Update and the iTunes Update two times each?  Or is this new problem totally unrelated?  It's just that this problem started a day after these 2 updates were installed twice.
My Macbook Pro Retina 15" (Mid 2012 version) is otherwise working fine at least as of now.  The only issue so far is this flashing bright yellow screen every time I turn on or restart my computer.
If anyone could please help me fix this so that my bootup screen doesn't flash completely bright yellow anymore, I would be forever grateful!
Thank you so much for reading this and for any help you can provide.
    hope everyone is well,
    Elaine

    Hey everyone in Apple world!
I figured out how to fix the flashing yellow screen problem that I've been having on my MBP!  Yessssss!!!
I found this super handy website with the golden answer: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
I followed the instructions on this page and here's what I did:
    Resetting NVRAM / PRAM
    Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.
I went through the 6 steps above twice, just to make sure I got rid of whatever stuff was holding up my bootup process.  Since I did that, my MBP boots up just like normal.  No flashing yellow screen anymore!!
(Note that I arrived at this solution when I first saw this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570?viewlocale=en_US)
Let me know if this works for you!

  • Page Flashes Yellow when Page Loads

Hi, I actually have a web guy doing a site for a client of
mine, but when the site loads, the whole background flashes bright
yellow and subsequently each page flashes yellow before it loads as
well, but only once. Web guy took out the SWF animations I sent him
and the flashing stopped. I've given SWF animations to other web
designers and this hasn't happened. Would someone be kind enough to
look at the site and let me know if they have any ideas. It's still
a work in progress. Here's the link:

In the site CSS, there is this:
    body {
    background-color: #FFFF00; /**this is yellow**/
    Change it to dark blue.
Also, that page has some html errors including 2
    </body> </body> tags at the
end of the document. Only one end of body tag is required.

  • Yellow flash just prior to desktop at start up

Just prior to getting to the desktop, there is a very short flash of yellow color on monitor.
Does this sound like software or hardware issue?
    Thanks for any help!

The point in Startup process you refer to is when the graphics card switches from "simple" mode (used from power on, Safe Mode, and for DVD-based Utilities and Recovery_HD) to Interrupt-driven automatic mode with the kernel extension driver.
The change-over is usually imperceptible, but it is certainly no cause for concern.

  • 2nd gen green-yellow flashing lights with content on iPod

so I looked up the definition of the alternating green-yellow flashing lights and it apparently means that there's no content on the iPod.
But when connected to Mac iTunes it shows that there actually is content on it. Hmmm. I can even play that content *from* the iPod through iTunes interface and hear it through the powerbook speakers.
I ran the iPod reset utility, reset the firmware in iTunes and reloaded the podcasts. Still the same thing.
Seems to sync fine. Don't know what's going on with this.

Make sure the mode switch is set to "play-in-order" and NOT "shuffle".
Flashing green-yellow means there's no PLAYABLE content on the shuffle.

  • Flashing lights, Macbook won't boot

I just recently bought a used Macbook unibody from 2008. It has been working great until today when it started flashing green yellow blue and white. I took it to the Genius bar, and they said it was my logic board, and I have no chance of fixing it for under $400.
Does anyone know a better, cheaper way of going about this? I'm in college and need my computer, and obviously can't afford that price.

... Both the installer and disk checker tell me
the machine has no hard drive - it just doesn't see a
    hard drive as present.
All the indications are that the logic board has failed, and after discovering the drive wasn't recognised, your first action should have been to contact Apple since the system is new. Unless your work IT people are Apple authorised, having them open your system and work on it will certainly have endangered your warranty should Apple have any indication that such work was done on it.
I think your best course of action to have this resolved is to contact Apple and explain the symptoms that you see - the flashing question mark at startup, that you are able to boot to a valid CD, but reinstall of MacOS results in an error indicating no hard drive is present. They will likely lead you through a couple of basic troubleshooting steps to confirm that you have a hardware failure that can't be resolved, then advise you on your options which will to some extent depend on where the mini was bought and whether there is an authorised service provider or Apple store in reasonable reach.

  • Lost Network- Yellow Light Blink

I've had an Airport Network setup in my house for 1 year. It consists of an Airport Extreme 802.11n, Apple TV, and 3 Airport Expreses- one runs my printer and extends the range, the other 2 are setup for ITunes in different rooms.
2 days ago a woke up to find that neither of my computers (G5 and Macbook Pro) can find my network; however I still have excellent connectivity to the Internet. Additionally my Airport Extreme shows a steady green light except it flashes a yellow light one time every 30 seconds. ??? Does anyone have any ideas?

    Progress,
I could not access the airport no matter what I tried.
Decided to take it to the office. Here a iBook and a Powerbook 17" saw the airport. I installed the network utility and while the airport was still blinking, they recognized it and I was able to configure it. When applying base station and network security, it stopped blinking yellow and turned green.
Now, I can see the network with the iBook (12 inch) and 17 Powerbook, but still nothing on the 12 inch Powerbook, no network and no airport. ***.

  • Lumia 928 Front-Cam Pictures are Yellow

    Hello,
After the recent Amber update, the phones takes HORRIBLE front-camera photos.  The white balance settings don't help at all and everything is given a yellow tint - people look like a cartoon from the Simpsons.  Please tell me this is being addressed in an update that won't make me wait until GDR3... I'm going back to school soon and I'd really like to show off the camera quality especially since it is such a beautiful phone.  Please fix this, I miss taking photos on my phone.
In addition, the pro-cam gives a yellow tint and softens images in the hi-res review.  I thought it would give the full HD review?
    Thank you,
    - Alex

  • Airport Express b/g no longer working after update to Airport Utility 5.3.1

after updating to this the other day, my AE b/g no longer works - like many others on the forum, i get the flashing amber / yellow blinkie light situation. i can hard reset it and get it to initially show up in AU 5.3.1, but once i try to join it to my wireless network (i use it with my laser printer) it never takes, disappears from AU, and sits there flashing relentlessly.
seems pretty clear that it's related to the 5.3.1 update - it was working fine for nearly 2 years without any issues prior to this. i find it hard to believe it had a total failure related to this - in fact, i just finally updated yesterday after being asked to for 2 weeks, and that's when it stopped working, no question about it.
any ideas on getting it to work? i've tried everything on these forums to no avail. or am i stuck waiting on AU 5.3.2?

I just solved the same issue. First I reset my whole network from scratch by hard resetting all devices (1 AEBS N and two AXg). Then I started configuring my main base station and added the other devices to the network one by one. (I have a WDS). Only after setting all the devices to channel 6, did the green light stay on.
Apparently when you configure a AX to participate in an existing WDS network and you enter the existing network name in the configuration panel of Airport Utility, it creates a separate network with the same name. In order to force it to join the existing network, make sure their Airport ID numbers are entered under the WDS tab in Airport as WDS remotes.

  • Airport doesn't work after firmware update

    Hi.
I was using my home wireless network when the Software Update suggested a firmware update to my Airport. I did it, but since then it doesn't work any more. I mean, the Mac can't find it and it keep flashing the yellow light.
Have this happened to anyone else?
    Thanks.
    Best regards,
    T

Try shutting down the DSL modem and your AirPort base station. Leave them S/D for about 5 minutes, then start the DSL modem, allow it to complete its test cycle, then start the AirPort base station.
Repair Permissions - /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.app. Start Disk Utility, select your HD and click on Repair Permissions. When finished, quit Disk Utility and then restart your computer.
    Go to System Preferences/Network/AirPort
    - click on the 'Network Name:' roll-button, select 'Join Other Network...', enter 'Network Name and select the security type you are using, and finally, enter your Password and click 'Join'.
    - click on 'Advanced', TCP/IP and confirm that 'Configure IPv4:' is set to 'Using DHCP', click 'OK'.
    - click the 'Apply' button and exit System Preferences.
If the above does not work then a factory reset of your AEB might be in order. The setup manuals for all AEBs are here: http://support.apple.com/manuals/#airport
