Flash Nightmares. . .Access denied

This all started rather simple. . . I visit a site of a
client of mine that has a flash video that was not working on my
Safari but did work on Firefox. It was suggested I try to reinstall
the latest Flash Player. So I did and I got the "Access Denied
Error. . . You do not have enough access privileges for this
installation". Went to Adobe. It said to uninstall Flash, Repair
disk permissions, restart and install Flash Player. I did all that
and again I got the same Access Denied Error. But now when I go to
any site that has Flash, I get "Safari cannot find the internet
plug in - "The page “BlahBlah” has content of MIME type
“application/x-shockwave-flash”, but you don’t
have a plug-in installed for this MIME type."
I am now Flashless both on Safari and Firefox which is not
good because I design flash into web sites and can't test them.
I double checked to make sure I have permission on my a Home
account. I tried reinstalling at least 3 times with the same error.
I am on a MacBookPro 2Gigs and have CS3 Web Design installed.
On a scale of 1-10 in Computer Knowledge I am about 6.
Your help would be appreciated

I fixed it using a work around that I got from a guy in the
Safari Forum at Apple who had the same problem.
He wrote:
"Open a new finder window and locate the internet plug-ins
folder, you'll see probably two, one in "Library" and the other
under "Admin" if you find both, try to leave both windows open,
Try to install Flash Player 9 and notice that there's some
movement on those folders, installer will delete the older flash
player to replace it with the new, but after installing the files
it tells you about the error message, and when you click ok. it
deletes the two files and closes the window.
This is what I did:
Before clicking on ok I moved the new files from the plug-ins
folder to the desktop and clicked ok, after that I copied the files
back into the plug-ins folder and it worked fine."
It worked for me although I had to drag them to an external
USB Memory stick so that it wouldn't erase them.
Installing Flashplayer 9 using sudo is a bit beyond my
comfort zone.
Thanks for your input.

  • Flash Player 9 Access denied error

I am the admin on my computer. How can I gain acess to install flashplayer.xtp?

Solution for error "Creating file: 1008:5, -5000 Access Denied Error":
Note: The following example uses the FireFox browser application path.
Open the Terminal application (in the Applications > Utilities folder) and type the following text:
    sudo chmod 777 /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/components/
Enter the password for the ROOT user.
    Reinstall Flash Player 9.
It may be necessary to run sudo chmod on each browser application path for which you'd like to install Flash Player.

  • I get an access denied error when logging into extension builder 2.1 on Flash Builder 4.6

I get an access denied error when logging into extension builder. The error is: You are not eligible to use CSIDE1 services due to the Service Eligibility Requirements.. Very frustrating since there is no other option than to read the adobe legal docs.
Before this started happening I was prompted to put in my birthday (WHO KNOWS WHY ADOBE NEEDS MY BIRTHDAY). I filled it in wrong and now this....
    PLEASE HELP

    Ok this problem is fixed.
Info for anyone else who faces this problem.
Apparently when adobe designed the extension builder installer package, they decided to get cute and try to figure out what version of the software, the extension builder package files should be installed into. So if you have FB4, FB4.6, and FB.7 there is no telling where it will go. Also if you try moving these folders somewhere else out of the applications directory, the installer will still find them on the system. I finally figured this out by watching my system log and seeing
    11/22/13 12:13:46.258 AM cp[70909]: Cannot make directory /Applications/Adobe Flash Builder 4.6/Adobe Flash Builder 4.6.app
Location: /Users/myuser/Downloads/Adobe Flash Builder 4.6-adobegarbage/plugins/com.adobe.cside.ui_2.1.0.201304282312/icons: No such file or directory
After removing every single instance of places the package installer was trying to use. It finally resolved to the correct FB4.6 location. Why adobe could'nt spend a little extra time add a destination selector in the package installer is beyond me, but hey i only wasted 3 days trying to figure this out.... Sadly it isnt the first time i've wasted copius amounts of time fighting Flashbuilder problems.
Halligrimur, thank you for your help. It did lead to me solving the problem.

  • Cannot access USB flash drive. - Access Denied

Have HP flash drive that I cannot access any files.  The computer reads the USB drive ltter but then gives me the message access denied.  Tried on other computer and works fine.  Even works on this computer in safe mode, but not in regular mode.

    Hello @thecos99,
I understand that your desktop computer is not able to read the information on the USB flash drive, and that it indicates that the "Access is Denied". I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
To further diagnose this issue, I recommend following the steps in this document on Troubleshooting USB Connections (Windows 7). This should help enable your system to recognize the USB drive.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

  • Access Denied message in Flash CS5 help

    Hi,
I had the problem with an Access Denied message when running community help and followed the technote instructions to re-install, but still had errors.
Browsing the config files in my newly created folder for the chc app:
      %appData%\chc.4875E02D9FB21EE389F73B8D1702B320485DF8CE.1\Local Store\HelpCfg\en_US
I find that the "baseURL" setting in Flash_11.0.helpcfg was set to: baseUrl="http://help.stage.adobe.com/"
Which also shows the Access Denied error in the browser.
Changing this to baseUrl="http://help.adobe.com/" seems to start it working and I get packages downloading etc.
Not sure if the URL is right, but that helped me.

I am having the same issue, Mac OSX.
Can't find ANY of the files you have referred to, and I'm incredibly frustrated that once again Adobe has screwed up my day's work.
Why can't we just have the reference documentation instead of all this 'community' help.
There's a time an a place for that - and it's online. Why can't I just get the reference info I want for the app I am using by clicking on HELP?
And why does my CD-based install require access to your website to get help files?
Now I have to waste time finding and fixing another of your bugs because you're trying to make something overly complicated.
I understand why you do not give printed documentation with boxed product - but WHY can't we just have a PDF file?

  • Flash Nightmares on Safari. . .Help!

This all started rather simple. . . I visit a site of a client of mine that has a flash video that was not working on my Safari but did work on Firefox. I also had a SIMBL error come up every time I opened Safari which started I'm guessing either when I upgraded to Safari 3 or when I installed Adobe CS3 Web Design. I figured it was all related.
So it was suggested I try to reinstall the latest Flash Player. I got the "Access Denied Error. . . You do not have enough access privileges for this installation". Went to Adobe. I don't have time for this mess! Monday is the first day of my Nightmare week. That would make this a nightmare in a nightmare. . . HELP!!!

While Starman does his midnight surfing (he probably calls it sleep), allow me to drop in with my 2 cents' worth!
Despite the fact that you seemingly don't actually have Flash installed, as evidenced by those two files not being found (and they should be in the Internet Plugins Folder on your main hard drive, not in the one in your home account), try this:
Adobe FlashPlayer should first be uninstalled using the appropriate uninstaller available here: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157&sliceId=2 and then the latest version obtained from here: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash and installed.
(You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.)
After installation you should repair permissions and restart.

  • Error "creating file: 1008:5, -5000 Access Denied Error"

    I'm unable to install Flash Player 9 in OS X (10.4.8). I
    followed the following tech note:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/4aa64290
    * I uninstalled Flash Player using the uninstaller
    * I repaired disk permissions
    * I tried re-installing Flash Player
I still get the error message saying I don't have the
    appropriate permissions.
Some background: I'm upgrading from a G5 tower to a new Mac
Pro. I ran the migration utility to copy over my user settings,
apps, etc. I noticed that pages with Flash were crashing the
browser(s) instantly. Of course, that's because the PowerPC version
was previously installed. I uninstalled and tried to re-install.
When I got the above error, searched the support area and found the
tech note saying to uninstall (done), repair permissions (done),
    then re-install (fails.)
    I'm stumped.
    Any suggestions?

I have the same problem, after trying more than a few times
    to install the
player, uninstall it, uninstall the Firefox 2, reinstall
    Firefox... with the
same result : it says that I need a plugin, and put me to the
    page of the Flash
    player installer...
I had this new error message after erasing, as it was
    proposed on a forum, the
    Internet plug-ins directory... "creating file: 1008:5, -5000
    Access Denied
    Error"
I never had this message before. I have all the rights and
    have installed lots
of softwares. I tried to use the terminal way... but this is
    a long way for me
on a Mac... I would be able on a PC but I can't even
    "navigate to this
    directory"...
Do I have to say that this Flash player is now quite
    important for lots of web
sites... This is really the first time I have a problem with
    Flash. Is it the
Intel Mac ?? No, it seems Windows have also its probs. Thanks
    for a reply... or
    a solution !

  • Lion SMB file sharing with windows "Access Denied"

In general SMB (windows) file sharing works fine on my home LAN (for Mac and Windows PCs).  However, Adobe Flash CS3 for Windows (Win7x64) yields an "Access Denied" error trying to open any FLA file shared from my Mac Mini home server running Lion.  I have double checked the permissions, and the client windows box is signing in with the correct user/password to have r+w priveledges to the files in question (rw-r--r--/644).
Copying the files locally resolves the issue (but isn't a good long term solution of course).
Is Flash is trying to take some sort of file lock that Lion's SMB/CIFS implementation doesn't support?  Any ideas?

I have this issue as well. and I have it on multiple configurations. My windows machine can't open an fla file on a osx lion share. another person working on the same project (on a different network setup) can't to it either. seems like something broke with lion that was working perfectly fine on snow leopard.

  • EFI Boot access denied symbol

    Hello everyone,
    my problem is the following:
i was installing windows with bootcamp,
after some time trying to boot, the mini showed me a flashing apple logo and an access denied symbol, i shutted the mini down after two hours on the boot screen,
i wanted to boot from firewire the mac os 10.6 dvd with a mac book (my mini has a broken dvd drive). how can i resolve the problem and at least boot the install dvd?
    My mac mini specs
Mac mini intel core solo 1.5 ghz
    2gb of 667mhx soddr2 ram
    250 gb segate hard disk
wired alluminium keyboard and mighty mouse
    no cd-dvd drive
help me, i need my mac mini back

Holding down the letter C on the keyboard when you turn on your Mac, should cause it to boot from an already inserted Optical disc that contains a compatible bootable operating system. If you turn on the Mac and then insert the Optical disc, it will not be recognised in time, so you will then need to reboot again with it still in.
You can also hold down the Option/Alt key and the Mac should then switch to displaying a list of all available bootable disks, including any optical disc.
In your case as you want to boot effectively from the MacBook, you could try one of the following two possibilities.
    1. Put the installer disc in the MacBook, and make sure the MacBook has DVD/CD sharing enabled (in System Preferences)
    2. Boot the Mac mini holding down the Option/Alt key and see if the MacBook disc is listed, obviously both machines have to be on the same network.
    or
    1. Boot the MacBook Pro in FireWire target disk mode by holding down the letter T when you turn it on (Some MacBook non Pro models do not have FireWire so it may not support this.)
    2. Connect the MacBook via FireWire to the Mac mini
    3. Turn on the Mac mini and hold down the Option/Alt key
You can do the reverse of the second method assuming your MacBook has FireWire. That is put the Mac mini in FireWire target disk mode, plug it in to the MacBook, and then run the installer on the MacBook. It is better however to do it the first way round as the installer will then know it is supposed to be configuring a Mac mini and not a MacBook.

  • Access denied message

I am running an swf file that is loaded into an lms. To test this I am using Captivate 5...I have 2 slides...the movie goes through the 2 slides and then gets an access denied on the following:
    _flash_removeCallback(document.getElementById(""), Set Effect OnObject...
I also get this using the following variables:
    mycpSetValue2
    mycpSetValue
    mycpGetValue
    cpEIXMLGetValue
    cpEIGetValue
    cpEISetValue
It runs if I open this swf file up in any of the browsers.  Any hints as to how to fix this? I have the appropriate files in flash player security settings.

I do have both apple sharing and the smb check marked....should I have ftp check marked? probably not....it seems the issue is in the access denied and not sure why access is denied.

  • Access denied after updating to Adobe reader 11.0.2

Today I updated to the latest version of Adobe Reader. Afterwords I can no longer use it, it says access denied. I have trioed to remove and reinstall, without solving the problem. I have also checked my Flash Player, but it says that the latest version is already installed. What is this??? I need Adobe reader to work properly ASAP!

  • Access Denied ix4-300d

I tried enable SSH on Iomega ix4-300d but always return Access Denied. Follow this steps:
Point your web browser to the following address: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/manage/diagnostics.html.
Click the “Allow remote access for support (SSH and SFTP), and then click apply.
SSH is now enabled. There is one catch: the password is slightly different. Use the following credentials to access your PX4
    Username: root
    Password: sohoadminpassword
Notice the password is your current admin password prefaced by ‘”soho”.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Firmware: 4.0.8.23976

    Hi,
We do not support customer access through SSH. If you attempt to do that on your own and something happens to it, the only support we offer to fix it, if it is under warranty, is to flash it back to factory settings which is completely data destructive.
