Flash not Displaying in Firefox

I cannot get get flash content to show up in Firefox (v
1.5.0.3).
It works fine in ie. Sample sites are :
http://www.rr.com/flash/index.cfm
and the disney pages. They just appear blank!
I have unistalled and reinstalled it but no good. The
Installer seemed to work ok but on the Flash website that checks
the version - nothing.
How do I unistall the plugin ? Even after the uninstall and
reinstall of firefox it remembered my tabs so it is not completely
uninstalling itself.
Thanks.

It must be something else. I used Firedfox 1.5.0.3 German
Version and
all works fine for me. I saw a Map of Amerika and some
Countries could
be marked. Then i get a list of some companies, i think. When
i select
one then i get to another Page of RoadRunner. All works fine,
it seems.

• Flash not displaying in Firefox [was: Murray *ACE*]

Hi all with regards to Murrays reply to my message in HTML Discussion, i have a problem with my site i uploaded it to test it out on my server and it works fine on Internet Explorer, but when i visit the site with Mozilla Firefox its comes up where the flash display should be saying:
Fail (the browser should render some flash content, not this)
Is this because i dont have a Mozilla Flash Plug in?
Address is :www.broadlandmedia.co.uk
This is not the final version of the site but i was wanting to use the flash header as displayed in windows explorer.
Thanks in advance

Flash files not displaying in Firefox, Safari, and Opera. Most recent Shockwave installed, private browsing active in Firefox?  Works perfectly in Chrome and Internet Explorer.  HELP!!!!

I suppose it would have helped if you knew what it was supposed to look like!   I'm using Shockwave Flash 11.7.700.169  and the version of Firefox I'm on is 20.0
When you see it in Firefox  - do the thumbnail populate the grid?  See attached populated and un-populated.

• My Social Media Icon are not displaying within FireFox

My Social Media Icon are not displaying within FireFox. And all other browser your able to view Icons - For some reason is now displaying in FireFox.
Can someone help me with this issue? I have alot of clients that view our website using firefox browser.
Domain Name: ForemostFitness.com

Do you use any extensions that block ads? That occurs to me because the service you're using for social icons (addthis) has "ad" in its name and perhaps they are getting filtered that way.
To determine whether an extension is a likely culprit, you could disable that one temporarily, or you could disable them all by testing the page in Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode.
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled (Flash and other plugins still run)
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)
Any difference?

• Newly created images will not display in Firefox 8 for Mac. Same images appear in other browsers. Why?

1. Specific new images are uploaded but will not display in Firefox 8 on my Mac with OS 10.6.8. (Does appear in other browsers, e.g., Chrome and Opera, and appears on Firefox 8 for PC.) Also, other images on the page display.
2. I have cleared cache, cookies, etc., in Recent History, and restarted both application and computer.
3. I've tried creating GIF, JPG and PNG, but none show on the page in Firefox on my Mac. I can see the offending image in other browsers such as Chrome on the same computer, and on Firefox on PC. Offending pages are in both PHP and HTML: http://www.brookfieldcivic.org/advertisers.php and http://www.brookfieldcivic.org/advertising_freedom_montessori.html
Image links: http://www.brookfieldcivic.org/images/advertisers/freedom.png and http://www.brookfieldcivic.org/images/advertisers/Freedom_Montessori_bizcard.jpg

You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
*Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
*Click the website favicon (Site Identity Button) on the left end of the location bar.
*Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
*Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
*Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
*If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

• Airtight Gallery Not Displaying in Firefox

I am using Lightroom to generate the Autoview gallery from Airtight and the Lightroom export facility to drop it into my Dreamweaver defined site. The gallery works fine in Internet Explorer but does not display in Firefox. I have tried hardcoding the entire url and file structure string into the param name field of the object clause - didn't fix it. I'm using most if not all of the defaults for the Dreamweaver and Lightroom paramaters. I have found very few postings on this in any of the Adobe, Airtight, and Firefox forums I have checked. There were a few that referenced making sure that hot links were not turned on at the web service. In my case, they are not - that is not the problem. Can anyone offer any help?

I would check the differences between the version that targets IE browsers versus all other browsers since dreamweaver uses code that targets one or the other, and make sure they have the appropriate information for both.  Next I would check the css for that area.

• RH8 WebHelp not displaying in Firefox

We have just upgraded to RH8 (from RH6) and one of our WebHelp projects that is available on our website will not display in Firefox. It is OK in IE and Safari.  All we see is .  We can view individual pages using the page url but not the project as a whole.
WebHelp that was generated using RH6 and is still on our website is still displayed correctly.
Has anyone got any suggestions.  Obviously we cannot roll back to RH6.
Thanks
Pauline

I experienced the same problem. It is because your server is not configured to handle UTF 8 encoding. Once my webhost fixed that, it was OK.
This is what he advised me
I would therefore conclude that the solution to this problem (on Linux systems running Apache) is to add the AddDefaultCharset utf-8 directive to either the Apache config or the site .htaccess file. The advantage of the latter is that it only affects individual sites. The default Apache character set is taken from the locale file on Linux and defaults to iso-8859-1. It is the conflict between the Apache header with iso-8859-1 and the page character set of utf-8 that obviously causes Firefox a problem.
In a forum post Chrissy_Tissy added
My machine is Windows, but this fix still worked  - some notes about making the fix visible:
1. Do the fix itself (httpd.conf: AddDefaultCharset utf-8).
2. Restart the box to apply the fix.
3. Once the box is restarted, clear your cache in FireFox to make sure you don't continue to see the cached file.
Once all this is done you will see the output content as expected.

• Flash not displaying photos in Flash photo Gallery

I have several web sites that use a flash photo gallery to display the photos. All worked until a few months ago when the photo were not displayed to users who used Mozilla Firefox, or MAC users using Safari for their browsers. The albums were blank, the thumbnails were blank. Yet if you used Google Chrome or Internet Explorer, all photos displayed perfectly. I have been to the Firefox forums and they point to Flash. I was using Flash 11.5.502.146, then I downgraded to Flash 10.3. To my surprise all photos display now on my Firefox browse V18.0. So there is definitely a problem with the newer Flash displaying photos in a flash gallery. What can be done to fix this?

• Flash not working in Firefox / Windows Update

Flash content is not displaying at all for me in Mozilla
Firefox (1.5.0.3, no extensions). I don't get the "additional
plug-ins are required", and I don't even see the space displayed
that the Flash object would take up on the screen.
Flash content works fine in Internet Explorer and Opera. I
had put this down as a Firefox issue, until the recent Microsoft
Windows Update patch for Flash -- Windows keeps telling me that
there is an update for the Flash player available that I should
install, but the installation fails every time I try it.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing both Flash and
Firefox, with no luck. Any suggestions on what I might try to clear
this up? Obviously, I could tell Windows (XP SP2, updates current
except this one) to ignore this patch, but I'd rather not do that
if there is a potential security issue. Plus, I'd like to get Flash
working again with Firefox.

• Why is the logo image not displaying in Firefox?

The logo image for one of my sites is not displaying. The alt info for the image is being displayed. This is a relatively new problem. In older versions of Firefox the image displayed fine. The image also displays fine in Webkit browsers and IE10. This is a Firefox specific problem. The main URL for the site is: http://sabaki.aisites.com/dbs323/project/masterAi.php
If you go to that URL in Firefox you'll see "logo gif" split onto two lines and before the "COTin" text. If you view the same URL in Chrome or IE10, you'll see the image. I have screenshots of the problem, but there is no way to include them here.

Works fine here.
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (MAC)
If you use extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) like <i>Adblock Plus</i> or <i>NoScript</i> or <i>Flash Block</i> that can block content then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.
Start Firefox in <u>Safe Mode</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

• Charts in Apex 3.2 demo application do not display in Firefox browser

Hi,
just installed Apex 3.2 and launched the demo application using Firefox 3.5.7
The charts are not displayed. Switching to MS Internet Explorer everything works fine.
Is Firefox not supported or any idea what's missing to display the charts ? Adobe flashplayer 10 plugin and Adobe SVG 3.0 are installed on
my WIN XP client.
Regards, Werner

It kept bugging me .. so I worked on it a bit.
The charts actually show, then get hidden by the noplugin funciton.
The problem is in Firefox ( the (ns || mo || !win) branch) the plugin check does not work.
When I use either this, the check for SVG feature:
function supportsSvg() {
return document.implementation.hasFeature("http://www.w3.org/TR/SVG11/feature#Shape", "1.0")
and
hasSVGSupport = supportsSvg();
or a check by mime types , like this:
var hasSVGSupport = false;
if (navigator.mimeTypes != null && navigator.mimeTypes.length > 0) {
if (navigator.mimeTypes["image/svg-xml"] != null)
hasSVGSupport = true;
I get the correct result and the charts display (remain displayed).
I simply modified plugins.js and use my modified version instead.
if (ns || mo || !win) {
if (hasSVGSupport) {
null;
} else {
noPlugin('svgRegion');
Hope this helps,
K

• PDF not displayed in Firefox 2.0 because of a popup

Hello,
we use NetWeaver 2004s SP9 and WebDynpro for ABAP 2004s SP 9.
In case of using Browser Firefox 2.0, we detected a problem with popups and Adobe Interactive Forms Integration.
The problem - described in a simplified form - occurs as follows:
There are two screens: screen A and screen B. Screen A contains some input fields.
Screen B shows a PDF via the Adobe Interactive Forms Integration, which contains data of screen A.
The navigation is screen A --> screen B.
Basically, this scenario works fine in Firefox 2.0. The PDF is displayed correctly on View B.
But, if a popup is shown before navigation form screen A to screen B, the PDF
(and the Adobe Plugin as well) is not displayed on screen B.
In this case the navigation is screen A --> Popup (screen A in background) --> screen B.
This problem exists only in Firefox, not in Internet Explorer.
Do you have any ideas how to solve this problem?
Best regards
Daniel

Hi Heidi,
thank you for your reply!
I have implemented note 1001411.
But the problem still exists...
Best regards

• New favicon will not display in Firefox, but does display in Safari

I am working on a new website and uploaded the favicon.ico into the root folder (Go Daddy). The favicon appears when I use Safari, not does not appear in Firefox... I have a mac OSX version 10.5 I have cleared the history and cache too. Any thoughts?

I have this problem too. I've just loaded my favicon.ico into my root folder and it shows next to the site url in latest Safari 5.0.5, but not in Firefox 3.6.17 - neither next to the site url nor on the page name tab.
Firefox also does not show the favicon in the Tools > Page Info > Media tab, although this does list just three of the many jpgs and pngs within its folders. I've just added the favicon.ico to the folder where it does see a jpg and png, but no joy, still not displayed. See attached png.
How do I overcome this problem? Is there a plugin that resolves this issue? It would be nice to have some color in the page name tabs. Many sites, such as this one, do have their favicons displayed by Firefox...

• Google Toolbar will not display in Firefox 4

I have downloaded, and reinstalled, the latest version of the Google Toolbar for use in Firefox 4. While the "space" exists at the top of the browser for the toolbar to show, the actual toolbar is not displaying. I assumed this problem would be solved by now? I have also uninstalled all add ons, and still had the same problem.

I had this same issue. Then I created a new firefox profile and installed the google toolbar again over this new profile, and the problem was solved.
I followed this guide.
