Flash not in Safari plug-in list

Okay, I'm having a huge issue with uploading images to some of the websites I use for my business.  I discovered that Adobe Flash is not in my plugin list when I go to Help>Installed Plugins.
I have installed flash multiple times. Then I have uninstalled it three times and reinstalled it three times.  IT IS STILL NOT IN THE PLUGIN LIST!
Can anyone PLEASE help me?  I am at a total loss on this.  I desperately need assistance.
Tahnk you for your time.  It is appreciated.

Okay, I tried the link that BT suggested, it is still not in my list of plugins in Safari.
Can ANYONE help with this or am I just skewered?

  • " plug-in name does not support the highest level of security for Safari plug-ins" appear for some plugins in Safari Security "Manage Website Settings"?

    Hi,
    Wondering why "<plug-in name> does not support the highest level of security for Safari plug-ins" appear for some plugins in Safari > Security > "Manage Website Settings"?
    Have been trying to get to the root cause of the problem but did not find much on this. I am trying to figure out what can get the warning to go away completely than using the Allow/Always Allow options for the plug-in
    Thanks,
    Shyam

    Hi Linc,
    Thank you for your response. Here is the screenshot of the warning that I am talking about.
    Here is what I do:
    1. Launch Safari and open its Preferences. I have Safari 7.1 installed on my machine.
    2. Click Security Tab and click Manage WebSite Settings
    3. A window opens showing me all the Plug-ins that I have (listed on the left hand side).
    4. One of them is the Adobe Reader plug-in. When I click Adobe Reader, the following details about the plug-in show up on the right
    I was referring to the highlighted section that warns me about this plug-in not using the highest level of security for Safari Plug-ins.
    Note: I do not see this for all my plug-ins (QuickTime, Adobe Flash Player don't give me this warning) which tells me that there is a way to make the warning go away.
    Thanks again,
    Shyam

  • Safari Installed Plug-Ins lists a Firefox plug-in.

    I have seen many different threads related to the Coupon Printer plug-in, but I am not convinced it is actually their issue.  I have three Mac at the house and all three have the coupon printer plug-in installed.  On two, there are no issues.  On the third, the application continues to prompt to install.  After some troubleshooting, I have seen that the machine having a problem lists both the Firefox and Safari version of the plug-in in the list of installed Safari plug-ins while the two working do not.  All have both in the /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ directory, but the computer not working correctly is the only one that believes both are installed in Safari.  Is there some way to exclude the Firefox plug-in from loading in Safari?  Removing it does not resolve the issue, and given that the plug-in is installed in two working Mac, just not showing loaded in Safari, I don't believe this to be the correct resolution.

    Which unfortunately doesn't at all answer the question.  I'm trying to understand what circumstance would cause an identical configuration and install of Safari as well as another program (in this case an Internet Plug-In) would behave differently.  I can't disable all plug-ins as then the one I want to run won't.  I want to understand why it shows both a FF plug-in and a Safari plug-in on only one of the machines but not the other two Macs (one is a 10.5 PPC Macbook, the other a 10.6 Intel iMac) which are configured with the same pieces of software.
    If this was a Windows machine, there would be a registry setting I could examine.  If it were truly Linux, I could examine the RPM database.  With a Mac, there's none of that directly exposed so I cannot even understand what I could check that would provide insight into the difference in behavior.

  • Flash not working with Safari

    I have Safari 5.1 and Lion.   Flash will not work in Safari.   I have the latest version (I uninstalled the previous version of Flash then installed latest version)  Have done Disk Repair,  changed Safari to 32 bit mode.  Still I just get the message
    "Cannot play media.You do not have the correct version of the flash player"
    I have Opera, Chrome and Firefox and all play flash.   Any ideas - apart from not using Safari!
    Thanks

  • Flash not working in Safari (and Chrome and Firefox) - possible solution

    Yesterday my Mac crashed (actually when I was away from it) and when it rebooted, Adobe Flash would freeze any web browser it ran in (Safari, Firefox and Chrome - which surprised me as I thought it used a different version of Flash). Great with so many live-blogs happening in the world of news right now.
    I tried all the usual suspects:
    * Deleted browser caches;
    * Uninstalled Flash (Adobe have an uninstaller available) and reinstalled the same version;
    * Uninstalled Flash and reinstalled the newest version;
    * Made sure I had no duplicate fonts (I did) as I'd experienced problems with this with an iPhoto upgrade;
    * Checked recent upgrades (iWeb and Camera updates) to see what they installed (nothing dangerous);
    * Fixed permissions (they needed it);
    * Tried running Safari under 32-bit (didn't think that would work as I hadn't updated Flash itself);
    * Signed in as another user.
    None worked.
    As a last resort, I downloaded the latest version of the Onyx utility (freeware) and ran the Maintenance scripts, then, under Cleaning, deleted System cache, User cache, Internet stuff (left the cookies), and Font caches (you'll need to Close all the dialog boxes then Restart at the end). Expect a long reboot.
    That worked.
    It may not work for everyone but may for someone.

    I was having the same issue. I logged into another account, a plain no add-ons account and found that I could view flash content with Safari OK. That mean that there was some preference file in my primary account that was the culprit.
    Here's how to cull out the bad apple (pun intended):
    Trouble Shooting Preferences
    Go to HD/Users/Your_name/Library. Move the Preferences folder (in its entirety) to the Desktop and make a second copy of it so you have Copy A and B. Now try the the process again and determine if problem is fixed.
    If the problem IS fixed, then go to the new Prefs folder that the OS will have created and open it up.
    Open Copy B on the Desktop and select all of the items inside. Drag them into the open new library folder. When the Copy window comes up check the Apply to All check box and then click on the Don't Replace button as seen here. That will keep the new files created and bring back all of the others.
    If the problem is NOT fixed, trash the new Prefs folder and move the intact Copy A folder back to the Library folder .
    This cleared it up. I ended up with 16 items that were not put back in the preference folder.
    Hope this will work for some of you.
    Do you Twango?

  • Flash not working in Safari 5

    Flash has been buggy for me in Safari 5, ever since I updated the Flash player last week to "10.1 r53". Either Flash files don't play at all, or just the audio plays without video.
    Per the instructions on these boards, I have:
    1. reset Safari
    2. uninstalled flash player
    3. installed the flash player
    4. repaired permissions
    5. restarted
    The issue is still there. Firefox plays Flash files, YouTube, etc. just fine. Safari does not.
    I'm running SL 10.6.4, latest Software Updates.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    I created a new account. Flash works in the new account. That's cool, but I really don't want to re-locate all my prefs, etc., just for a buggy plugin.
    So, I next...
    1. grabbed the Safari plist from the new account
    2. logged out of the new account
    3. logged into the old account (where Flash does not work)
    4. moved the old account's com.apple.safari plist file out of the Preferences folder
    5. moved the clean Safari plist file (from the new account) into the Preferences folder
    6. reset and restarted Safari
    7. Flash worked...for about two minutes. I tested on YouTube, Vimeo and Google Analytics. Back to Flash not working in Safari.
    I then tried repeating the earlier steps.
    1. reset Safari
    2. uninstall flash player
    3. install flash player
    4. repaired permissions
    5. restarted
    Still doesn't work.
    Just one other thing to note: whenever I pull up a web page with Flash, I get a "file not found" error in Safari's activity monitor (link is below)...could this be an error with Adobe's website rather than a Safari-permission thing?

    Flash is totally unrelated to Java, so what you're saying is that certain plugins are not working under Safari of which one just happens to be Java. You're the second one I see make mention of that, but the fact remains that you'd need to ask Apple what is going on with their browser.

  • Font size in yahoo mail has suddenly shrunk, not the emails but inbox list etc. Only in Firefox, not Safari etc. How can I correct this

    When I opened Yahoo mail from Firefox the font size suddenly shrunk and I can hardly read it. Font size in emails not affected. Inbox, sent list etc are all much smaller.
    No problem when using Safari.

    This problem comes from suck Hardware accelerate of Firefox5.0
    Let's turn off Hardware accelerate in browser

  • Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 Plug-in Utility Not Installing on Eclipse

    I am trying to install Flash Builder 4.7 Plugin into Eclipse. I have downloaded Flash Builder Premium via Adobe's Creative Cloud. I have also installed Eclipse Indigo. I am running this all on Mac OSX.
    According to a tutorial I found I needed to go into the Utilities folder found in the Flash Builder install and run the Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 Plug-in Utility. It seemed to run fine. Afterwards you should be able to see "Flash Builder" in the help menu of Eclipse. However it is not there. You should also be able to set Flash Builder preferences under Window --> Preferences. Flash Builder is also not visible there.
    According the the tutorial there should also be this file "fb-4_7-plugin-encoded.link" created in the "dropins" folder of Eclipse. This file is created. However it is blank.
    I looked into the installation log and there was only one concerning message.
    Move File: Destination: /Applications/eclipse/dropins/fb-4_7-plugin-encoded.link
    Status: WARNING
    Additional Notes: WARNING - There was a problem moving /Applications/eclipse/dropins/fb-4_7-plugin-encoded.link
    I am unsure what this means the documentation seems to be pretty sparse. However, it seems to be the only problem in the entire installation process. Any ideas or suggestions on what could be causing this error would be great.

    Hey,
    I actually did solve this.  Forgot to come back and answer.  Hopes this helps Stefano.
    I went into dropins/fb-4_7-plugin-encoded.link and edited it to say the following:
    path=C:/Program Files (x86)/Adobe/Adobe Flash Builder 4.7

    Facebook videos are still working for me in the Facebook App (using iOS 7.0.6).
    Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
    Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
    Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).

  • Flash Not Sizing Correctly in IE7

    I found the answer to this problem by accident, but I'll go
    ahead and post in case someone else has the same issue. I have a
    full-browser flash site (width:100%, height: 100%). I had noscale
    and alignment set correctly, and my resize function worked fine.
    The flash was still being stretched by a few pixels in IE. I have a
    main swf that loads a content swf. All I did was change
    addChild(loader.content); to addChild(loader);. So I just
    referenced my loader directly instead of it's content when adding
    it. I have no clue why this was causing a problem, but at least
    it's fixed.

    Hi Brian,
    Try uninstalling your current copy of Flash and reinstall new.
    Uninstall Flash
    Install Flash
    From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
    From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.
    Go here for trouble shooting 3rd party plugins or input managers which might be causing the problem.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1594
    Since you are running Snow Leopard, *make sure Safari is running in 32-bit mode, not 64*. Right or control click the Safari icon in the Applications folder, then click: Get Info In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle next to General so it faces down. Select 32 bit mode. Also, (in that same window) make sure *Safari is NOT running in Rosetta.*
    Then repair disk permissions.
    Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and *restart your Mac.*
