Flash not showing up in Firefox 2.0

I have a page and have used Dreamweaver CS3 to install a
Flash file. It is an MP3 file that has been converted into Flash. I
used the insert menu and chose Flash, actually I have tried most of
the inserts. When I open the page in IE it works fine. When I open
it in Firefox you can't even see the player controls or hear the
file play. I have uninstalled and re-installed Flash already, but
that hasn't done anything. Anybody have any ideas of what to do to
get this to show up in Firefox. I would like this to be compatible
across more than just IE.

can we get a link to see for ourselves? Or paste the HTML
code up here (specifically that which embeds the flash in the
page)

  • The web site of Adobe does not show correctly in FireFox

    I have a bizarre problem.  The site of Adobe (including where I can download the flash player) does not show correctly in FireFox and I only see it as a text HTML page, but without most images (typically, for instance, I do not see the image "Download now" but see a text line "Dowload now", and so on...
    This seems to specifically affect the Adobe web site as I have no problme for other web sites (so far).
    It is something specific to FireFox as  I do have the problem with Internet Explorer.
    The problem persis even if I restart FireFox without any add-on (safe mode).
    Any suggestion ?

    Does this only happen in Firefox?  What do you see with Internet Explorer or Chrome?  If it is only Firefox, I'd try these steps in this order:
    1. Clear your cookies and cache
    2. Reset your Firefox settings
    3. Make a new profile

  • I'm developing a web site using MVC3 & Razor, but my css changes do not show up on FireFox, but do on Chrome & Internet Explorer - How can I get Razor to render correctly on FireFox?

    I don't have a public version as I'm just staring development.
    For an example I have completed the walk-thru at [http://www.asp.net/mvc/tutorials/getting-started-with-ef-using-mvc/updating-related-data-with-the-entity-framework-in-an-asp-net-mvc-application]. Then I tried changing minor items in site.css (such as font size) and the changes did not show up on FireFox, but do show up on Chrome and Internet Explorer.
    Example of change below: I changed the background from #e8eef4 to #ff0000. The table header background shows up in red for chrome & IE, but stay in light blue for FireFox.
    <code>
    table th {
    padding: 6px 5px;
    text-align: right;

    IE uses a different version of Flash than other browsers use. You need to install the Plugin version of Flash for Firefox.
    1.Download the Flash setup file from here: <br />
    [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version]. <br />
    Save it to your Desktop.<br />
    2. Close Firefox using File > Exit <br />
    then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed, <br />
    {XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
    3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.

  • Header not showing up in Firefox (but OK in IE7)

    Hello everyone.
    I'm hoping someone can help me with this situation. I'm
    having a problem with my header sometimes not showing up in Firefox
    2.0 (I'm using 2.0.0.13), yet it shows up fine in IE7. The problem
    is intermittent, sometimes it displays as it should and other times
    it's not there (the header is a JPG, 1000x125 pixels, around 25k in
    file size). Sometimes clicking the "Go" button will make it appear
    (other times not) and sometimes "refresh" will do the same or make
    it "disappear" if it's already there. I'm using DW MX 2004 and I
    don't remember having this problem before until just recently on
    some pages that I made from scratch. Here is an
    example of one of
    the pages. So far it's a pretty simple layout using a table, a
    header and a few horizontal buttons.
    If it the header shows up in Firefox, please refresh or
    reload and see if it no longer shows up.
    I'm wondering if I should be doing something else in DW for
    the header so that it will show up every time in Firefox. I can
    post the code if I need to, or you can view it when you visit the
    page.
    Can someone please help?
    Thank you

    This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

    I get a recurring error in Firefox regarding Shockwave Flash not respoding, etc.  Firefox locks up.  I've uninstalled & reinstalled Shockwave & Flash Player to no avail.  Can't find an answer (Windows 7).  Is there one that works?  I've looked quite a few places on the internet.

    It seems you both did get lost and per accident ended in this place for last hope.

  • Correctly installed Firefox Flashplayer (v10.1.53.64) does not show video in Firefox (v3.6.7) under Windows XP, Vista, 7

    Hi all,
    I am experiencing this mysterious flash player video rendering problem on my website www.cc-exotic-home.com (see tag cloud box with animated text on the left side "Ihre Suchbegriffe").
    Using Firefox version 3.5.x and older on all operating systems the tag cloud video is running w/o problem. As soon as I use a 3.6.x Firefox version (with a correctly installed flash player plug-in version 10.1.53.64) the video is not showing anymore, even though the Firefox plug-in seem to be up and running.
    I experience this problem ONLY in Firefox...all other browsers are fine (latest version of IE 8.0, Safari, Chrome, Opera).
    Can anyone help me with this strange problem...?? I couldn't get any useful help at the Adobe Support Forum...
    Here's the page source code:

    Are you running on an Windows OS ? I still can't understand why people from outside Germany seem to be able to view the content in firefox 3.6.x and many users in Germany experience the same problem as I do...it's so strange...

  • Flash not showing up

    First of all thank you in advance whomever may help me.
    Here's my issue:
    I am currently working on this site
    FiveStarTrumpet and I
    have a flash object at the very top of the page that will not show
    up. I have went and checked the page source and it's there but not
    at the same time. So I copied the page source and pasted it into a
    blank page in DW, just to see if maybe the server added some junk
    somewhere that I couldn't see and it shows up fine in DW. I have
    never had this issue before and am baffled by it. It's not even
    showing a broken link or anything on the page itself. I used
    FireFox 2.0.0.1 and IE 6.0 and it didn't show up in either. I'm
    still on WinXP so I have not changed any settings as far as the OS
    is concerned either. If any more info is needed please let me know.
    Thanks,
    James

    This is how DW8.0.2 inserts Flash to get around the EOLAS
    changes in IE. If
    you read through the entire code, you'd understand what is
    happening. Your
    changes will reverse all of this. Not desirable....

  • New IE object fix makes flash not show in other browsers

    I have a page containing a flash movie. When I open the html
    page in Dreamweaver, it gives me a message saying 'this page
    contains <object> tags that may not work properly in the most
    recent versions of Internet Explorer. To correct this problem, you
    can convert these tags to browser-safe scripts. Do you want
    Dreamweaver to convert these tags for you?
    However, when I do this, my flash movie does not show up in
    my browsers (mac Firefox and/or Safari).
    What do I need to do to correct this?

    If you had js errors turned on in your IE, then when you
    opened this first
    link, you would see an error on line 16, stating "Object
    expected". This
    means that IE is not finding your referenced function -
    <script type="text/javascript">
    AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase','http
    on the page. This happens because this file -
    <script src="Scripts/AC_RunActiveContent.js"
    type="text/javascript"></script>
    has not been uploaded. Please upload the Scripts folder and
    you will see
    things begin to work.

    Remove your Flash from that page. Then reinsert it, and when
