Flash not working properly in Internet Explorer 6

Hello,
Flash images are not displaying correctly in Internet
Explorer 6. I have checked in Internet Explorer 7 and it is working
fine.
Could someone help me to fix this issue ?
I have checked the Tools->Security->Custom
Level->Run Flash image and it is enabled.

The issue above is due to the flash player plugin. I have
checked from another explorer of same version and it is working
fine there.
Could someone help me to delete this topic? I don't know the
stpes to delete a topic from the forum.

And if you are wondering why i want Internet Explorer to work if my Firefox is working fine? i use Firefox's add-ons to help defend my computer if i am downloading sum thing(which i have a lot of add-ons that slow it down). And i use Internet Explorer because it is faster.

Blog app not working properly in internet explore

Hi I am new to sharepoint;
I am using Office 365; in my public facing website blog page I implemented the built -in app that enables me to post and start a discussion; then visitors of my site can add comments using their facebook accounts or yahoo or any after they log in;
the app works fine but users cannot add comments in internet explorer; they can do so in google chrome;

What version of internet explorer is being used?

Servlet output not displayed properly in Internet Explorer

I'm developing a servlet which uploads a file. After the servlet parses the request body, it stores the file contents as a binary string in the database. While displaying the contents of the attached file, the IE(Internet Explorer) is ignoring all the newlines and spaces. IThe same uploaded file when viewed through Firefox browser is being displayed properly. I've added some debug statements to print the filecontent before sending it to servlet output stream. They look exactly as they were in the uploaded file. The MIME type is application/octet-stream.
I've also made the response to accept "ISO-8859-1" and "UTF-8" charsets, yet the IE is not rendering the file contents properly. The code looks like this,
response.setContentType("text/html; charset= ISO-8859-1, UTF-8");
byte[] buff = attachment.getAttachObject();
OutputStream out = response.getOutputStream();
out.write(buff);
out.close();
I've tried using PrintWriter also. I've tried changing the content types, character encodings of request and response objects, still couldn't resolve the issue. What really baffles me is that when it's displaying properly in Firefox, why can't it render properly in IE? I'm using Win XP SP2, and IE version is 6.0.29. The content which is being sent to the output stream contains newline and space characters, but they are not displayed in the browser. Did any one face this sort of issue? Your help is highly appreciated.

Thanks for looking into the issue. Let me tell you that I've tried keeping various content-types like text/plain, text/xml etc, but in none of those cases the IE rendered the output properly. But with the same content-type i.e text/html or text/plain, Firefox is able to render the file content properly. I've tried a brutal force approach like below,

Hyperlinks do not function properly in Internet Explorer

I'm having a problem exporting HTML from Muse to a SharePoint folder. I export the Muse files successfully to a SharePoint folder and then can view the Index file or any of hte created HTML pages. My problem is when using Internet Explorer (IE8) specifically, none of the hyperlinks for any placed Photoshop button are clickable. When viewing the same html in FireFox or Chrome, everything functions perfectly. Most, but not all, of the hyperlinks that are just text based seem to be functioning properly in IE. Since this in an interal site for our company, I cannot link to the site, but I can upload a video and/or images if that helps explain. Please advise.

Adobe Flash Not Working Properly

The following problem applies to both I.E. and Firefox. Also, I am updated to the latest version of Flash: 11.4.402.278. Keep in mind that I have tried everything that I could find concerning this problem. Also, I am using Windows XP SP3 32bit.
I used to be able to watch video from any website that had videos to watch but recently I was not able to watch any, not even on YouTube. However, after uninstalling and reinstalling Flash I can now watch a few of the YouTube videos and nothing from any other web site. On YouTube, sometimes it works better if I disable Flash. However, when a note appears saying I need Flash, and I Re-enable Flash, it still won’t work. No notice saying anything, it simply will not play the video.
Also, if you are familiar with NetFlix, on their web site, when you hold your mouse pointer over a video title a popup is supposed to appear telling you about the video. That stopped working too. It's all screwed up and I don't know what happened.
Also, when I finish reinstalling Flash (which I have done a few times lately (after uninstalling and carefully following the instructions in the Uninstall Video)) and I am automatically taken to the Adobe page which tells me I have successfully installed Flash, I never get the little animation. It says Flash is properly installed but I never get the animation to show it is properly installed.
Also, on other sites that have test animation to show that Flash is installed and working, their animations never appear either. The problem is also evident when trying to use the websites that test my internet speed. I no longer get the applet or interface on the upload and download test sites.

No, there is no animation.
As stated on my original post, I have uninstalled and reinstalled more than
once. Each time Adobe says I have successfully installed Flash but there
is never an animation on either the Adobe site or anyother site.
Sometimes when attempting to watch a YouTube Video, like the Scorpions
performing Drive by the Cars (awesome acoustical version) it will not play
unless I disable Flash. Then trying to play a different video it says I
need flash so I re-enable flash and it doesn't work. In case you are
wondering, the video that says I need flash did not work before I disabled
flash and it did not work after re-enabling flash.
Before writing this reply I completely uninstalled flash following the
instructions on Adobe site and then reinstalled flash and it's the same as
usual. Adobe says it's installed but no animation and still have the same
problems with web videos.
This all started a couple weeks ago. Before that I had not problem.

Strange problem: flash not working properly in IE

This is a link to the webpage where is my flash gallery. When
u open the it u will see the gallery on top, little pictures will
appear and will slide to the left. When u click on a small picture,
a big picture will appear of the same little picture. The problem
is that in mozilla firefox and opera for example it works perfectly
but when u open it with interner explorer 7, most of the times when
u click on a small pic, just the window where the big pic should
load shows up, but the pic doesn't load... if u close it and open
it second time it opens. The script is the same for all pics. I
don't understand why it is not working in IE. Anyone with more
experiance should have already faced this problem.. and maybe
figured out why this happens... please help !

I'm also having extreme problems with Flash. I did the
uninstaller thing too, I re-booted over & over again & it's
still not working. I can't view anything that uses Flash!!! It
shows up as being installed on my computer, but all the websites I
go to say "you don't have the new version installed-install now."
There's a link to install, I get the pop up on my toolbar to
install Active-X, but nothing happens.
If anyone has new info...please help

IWeb font not working on PC Internet Explorer

Hey Guys,
I have recently put up a quickie iWeb site for a short film I wrote and directed at www.greatpretendersmovie.com and have been sending friends, family and most importantly, interested film festivals to that website to take alook. But while visiting a friend and showing them the site I found out - to my horror- that my nice American Typewriter font on the main homepage, which looks fine on any Mac, is showing up as some kind of generic lo res Courier looking font on a PC running Internet explorer. The odd thing is I use this font on every page - and on some (the Cast page, for instance) it looks the way it should, and on some (The Trailer & Clips page) - it has the same blocky primitive appearance. anyone got any ideas?

Welcome to the discussions, Jeremy.
Since you used American Typewriter and it's rendering on your pages as text instead of a graphic, this means that the target browser will use American Typewriter if available. If not, it falls back to Courier. You'd probably see the same thing if you viewed on a Mac that doesn't have American Typewriter either.
You'd have to force your text on these pages to render as a graphic in order to have a more unified look, but all those images will make your site load a little slower.

IWeb Not Rendered Properly by Internet Explorer

I can't believe that a this product doesn't produce pages that can be rendered by Internet Explorer!
What rocket scientist at Apple thought that people would stop using IE or that people using iWeb would re-code all of the "features" of iWeb, that is the automatic stuff that makes it useful the first place?
So, does iWeb 09 solve this huge mistake?

It's Internet Explorer that's the problem. It does not adhere to the accepted web standards that are currently in place and followed closely by iWeb. You'll have to dumb down iWeb in order to get IE to render it correctly. Search for posts by Roddy with the topic Internet Explorer. He has many posts with tips on what to do to get iWeb sites more compatible with IE. One of the many is in this topic: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1837981&tstart=0.
This Google search shows many sites discussing Internet Explorer's failure to follow web standards.

Charts not displaying properly in Internet Explorer

I have a component that takes in an xml formatted set of
charting data and displays it in both chart form and in a data
grid. In internet explorer I occasionally see spikes in the lines
on my chart. It basically appears that the points are either being
plotted higher or lower than they should be at random places. I
have checked the xml input data and it appears to be correct. Also,
the same data the chart is using is being displayed in a data grid.
The data grid shows the correct values as well.
So it appears that my xml data and the values in the data
grid are correct, however the chart does not match. This is
sporadic behavior. Most of the time, my charts are displayed
correctly, however occasionally one or more data point will be in
the wrong spot. Also, this only happens in internet explorer. I
can't seem to reproduce it in Firefox.
Has anyone seen anything like this? Any ideas on how to fix
it?

That's exactly what IE conditional comments do. They are ignored by all other browsers except IE. And you must add the <![endif]--> or it won't be treated as an IE Conditional Comment.

Also, I see errors in your IE only css file. It must not contain HTML code.

Flash Not working Properly?

Hello Forum. I have an EOS Rebel XS / 1000D.
A couple of 'flash' issues I need assistance with or perhaps advice.
1. In Auto mode there are times the flash will open even in bright daylight shooting well lit subjects or scenery. This has also happened, oddly enough, a few times when I'd be wearing a wearing a ball cap. Shadow? Seems overly sensitive.
2. In natural daylight, using creative modes such as "P" the flash button will open the flash but it won't fire when taking the shot. On the other hand if I move inside a building (lower light condition) and repeat the same process, the flash will fire when I take the shot.
*My understanding is that if I manually open the flash in creative modes, regardless of lighting conditions, the flash should fire when I take a shot.

The manual which I so freely read, clearly states to put the camera in "P" mode, push the flash button on the camera body and the flash will open and flash will work when taking the shot.
What documentation are you quoting from?

Flash not working properly in FF

I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.1 but it aso happened with 2.0. The
same goes for the flash version, i'm using the last version but had
the same problem with previous version. Flash loads well but when
clicking on it nothing happens. It's annoying because i can't do
anything on flash sites. It works with IE engine though.
I tried to unistall flash player, restart, install it again
but that didn't solve it. I'm sure it's a problem of my computer
because I don't have any problems with FF and flash at work.
Any help appreciated.

I have found the error seems to be with flash player 8. I
unistalled all the flash player programs, codecs, and registry
entries, then reinstalled flash player 6. As long as I ignore the
nag screen from flash sites to update to the latest version of
flash player, I have not been having any problems. Of course, I
cannot see the the flash applications built for version 8, but all
the older applications work fine.

PS: If any Adabe staff read these forums, I will reiterate
that THE ERROR IS WITH FLASH PLAYER 8!!!

I have tried several attempts at installing and unistalling Flash Player. I have used the data base provided to trouble shoot the issue with no success. Yes I have done everything suggested by Adobe to no avail.

Do you see Flash cube bounching on this page : http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
Make sure "Shockwave Flash Object" is enabled under Add-ons (Tools -> Manage Add-ons) and ActiveX Filtering is disabled (Tools -> Security)
