you surely mean install flash from AUR and not Arch from AUR
how did you install flash? what steps did you follow? Did you get any errors?
Simply saying xxx didn't work for me doesn't help us at all.
What if I were to say to you : I installed it and it works for me
yea, lol sorry:P, i used this wiki page to guid me on my installzation, http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ins … bit_System,
as a root user i typed in the command [pacmans -S nspluginwrapper] It downloaded succesfully , then i went back to normal user and typed in the command [$ nspluginwrapper -v -a -i] i go the following error message "bash: nspulginwrapper: command not found", and then nothing, i got no flash, i followed it and got nothing, please help if you can. send me a link or something, im not lazy, i will read, i just come here when i have no more options.

  • Linux FC10 Adobe Flash 10 Print problem

    Hello,
    In Linux FC10, I cannot successfully print a Flash-document
    on my Epson Stylus D120 Printer.
    For instance, on the following site, with the right mouse
    button, I am able to make a print the map.
    www.plattegronden.nl/bergenopzoom
    Then you will see a map, which is an Adobe Flash Player 10
    document, which is installed:
    Name : flash-plugin
    Arch : i386
    Version : 10.0.22.87
    The print copy is printed with big steps in a big speed, so
    the result is a low resolution with black matrix points, and bad
    readable.
    Trying to solve the problem, I did search more printer
    configurations, e.g. in
    http:////localhost:631/
    CUPS
    but not successfully.
    Hoping the problem is clear and good understandable.
    Many thanks in advance for each answer,

    This is the first time I am creating package and would like to maintain this package https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/mult … setlang=en as I am the author of upstraem package. @ Trilby
    I have modified the first post to use code. multibootusb is simmilar to unetbootin. However, many distros can be installed/ uninstalled. The famous linux version of YUMI by pendrivelinux.com is a fork of multibootusb. I hope you understand what my software does.
    There seems to be a difference between "makepkg" and "makepkg -S". Package has been succesfully created using "makepkg". However, it does not when I used "makepkg -S". Here is the out put I got when I used "makepkg -S"
    [sundar@arch arch]$ makepkg -S
    ==> Making package: multibootusb 7.1.0-1 (Mon Apr 28 05:41:38 IST 2014)
    ==> Retrieving sources...
    -> Downloading multibootusb-7.1.0.tar.gz...

    Dload Upload Total Spent Left Speed
    0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 --:--:-- 0:00:01 --:--:-- 0
    100 662k 100 662k 0 0 73219 0 0:00:09 0:00:09 --:--:-- 56066
    ==> Validating source files with sha512sums...
    multibootusb-7.1.0.tar.gz ... Passed
    ==> Entering fakeroot environment...
    ==> Creating source package...
    -> Adding PKGBUILD...
    -> Compressing source package...
    ==> Leaving fakeroot environment.
    ==> Source package created: multibootusb (Mon Apr 28 05:41:48 IST 2014)
    [sundar@arch arch]$ ls
    multibootusb-7.1.0-1.src.tar.gz multibootusb-7.1.0.tar.gz PKGBUILD src
    But the wiki says that "makepkg -S" is used  "To build the package and install needed dependencies automatically" .
    Regarding namcap warning, I have kept additional data required by multibootusb under python's system prefix. I had to do this as different distro uses different path for system prefix. Any suggestion to remove this warning is appriciated. Also this warning by namcap:-
    multibootusb W: Dependency included and not needed ('python-pyqt4')
    multibootusb W: Dependency included and not needed ('python2-psutil')
    multibootusb W: Dependency included and not needed ('mtools')
    does not seems to be true. These pacakages are must to run multibootusb.

  • Swfdec 0.6.8 + gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg using system FFmpeg = good enough

    I got down to only one 32 bit program on my 64 bit install -- Flash. Having dropped Skype and Lightscribe, it started to seem silly to have 50+ duplicate libraries for something I don't use often. I wanted a solution that isn't a Grease Monkey script, so this leaves swfdec and Gnash.
    I don't like the newer swfdec; It's brutal on the CPU, I don't want two copies of FFmpeg on my system (gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg and my subversion build), and it doesn't have an OSS backend. Gnash, even with the GL driver, looks too blocky and is far behind swfdec in functionality.
    The last version of swfdec that I knew of that worked good enough was 0.6.8, and it can use OSS unpatched. I also found the Gentoo patches for gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg. The combination turns out to work fairly well. The CPU usage is way down, but is still nowhere near as good as Flash 10.
    This is the PKGBUILD for gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg. It's designed for very new versions of FFmpeg. The one I tested against is less than a day old. As always I removed the e-mail addresses from the forum post. Credit goes to JGC and AndyRTR for the original three PKGBUILDS. I'm not putting this in AUR because I expect it break frequently:

    Is the gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg package in extra still an issue? Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about but if it didn't use "the system's ffmpeg" I would expect it to come with an entire copy of ffmpeg. However all I see is:
    [connor@connors-laptop gstreamer-0.10]$ pacman -Ql gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg
    gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg /usr/
    gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg /usr/lib/
    gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/
    gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstffmpeg.so
    gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstffmpegscale.so
    gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstpostproc.so
    Is the current package built against the system ffmpeg or not?

  • Boot from floppy and install arch from flash stick - NO CDR - USB 1.1

    MY PREVIOUS POST BELOW BECAME A HARD DRIVE INSTALL POST WHICH HAS HELPED THOUGH ISN'T ON SUBJECT CURRENTLY AND I STILL NEED SOLUTION  - Now at day 3 :-) - sorry!
    I have old laptop with a very broken CDR... so just a floppy and a hard drive and 2 USB 1.1 ports.
    [Need commands and which floppy is best]
    The USB install WIKI
    http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ins … _USB_stick
    says to write the .img file to flash stick...
    --- that I can do!
    Though trying a similar process:
    I've had no luck with a hard drive install (also on wiki) as I believe that once I write the .img file to the hard drive it WILL boot though can't create mount points as the drive's in use!
    Anyways...
    IF I have the flash stick with the .img file on it as per the wiki instructions
    what commands would I use and what boot floppy would work for:
    - booting from floppy
    - mounting? the flash stick with arch core on it
    - then installing from there to single hard drive partition.
    thing is I'm just barely ok with using
    dd   fdisk and mke2fs
    So: I need to know what command to mount USB stick... then HOW do I get arch installer on the img file to boot up??
    Any guru tips really needed ....thank you!

    nice Kirurgs
    doesn't boot from usb... and CDR very broken... good though as I've learned a lot....
    dell inspiron 2500 1 ghz pentium III
    method 1) used puppy after booting off wakepup2 floppy ....very handy that wakepup flopppy though be advised there's several versions of wakpup2 and try the second boot option on the aug or sept 2008 version it WILL find your USB device even if like me I had an old 128 meg one.  also, Crash, a guy at the puppy forums has a 3 floppy set that's specific to whatever puppy version you're running... try that as a last resort
    UN-NECESSARY BLATHER COMMENT: The way those puppys are created weird me out., the more I looked around, Yes, I've read a wee bit about Aufs, and what goes into the whole persistent thing.... seems like lotsa almost impossible  to ever 'really' know stuff is going on it there.... Consider the source of that comment of course... I have huge blank spots in my knowledge and skill and am actually only a relentless year one linux'r... [not counting 6 years of hum and haw] though I'd wanna build my own live arch usb with tips from here before I ever tried to REALLY figure out what goes into creating puppy. I'm saying that at one or two points I thought.. hmnmm... perhaps puppy on this old laptop.... though concluded that ARCH for ALL things is really the only option. puppy's a great boot and hunt around thing though (for me, and in my current opinion).
    method 2) eldamar and eldamar's guide which started me towards success .. which I basically now just do the dd command to an empty partition after booting from puppy .... THEN thrown in a supergrub floppy .... have it 'bring alive' the partition I've just dd'd the arch .img to.... and reboot.... oh, and from puppy I can create partitions as well.. gparted I think.
    method 3) untested also can use plop floppy  it's a boot loader... you may be able to get slitaz distro to create one for you through the 'bootfloppybox' terminal command... not sure if it uses the old floppy linux version of PloP or the win version or what.... dunnno dunno!!! gotta go! :--)
    crazy busy so writing to say... pretty much all fine! :--)
    for me this move was 3-4 days of lots of WONDERFUL bad luck... with everything from puppy hell, my partial-dumbness and back..
    thing is.... I'm real good at it now.... hehehehe
    gotta love problems!

  • /boot Partiton on One Flash Drive, Multiple Arch Installs

    I have read some people have done this, but I have yet to find clear guidance on the topic from perusing BBS (maybe I cannot find the right thread) or the Arch Wiki, but if I wanted to put boot on a flash drive, and have that flash drive handle different LUKS on LVM volumes on different laptops, how would I set that up?
    Do I have to write out the grub conf files in the 40_custom file by hand or is there a way to have different grub2 confs in the same partition so I can have the same flash, dedicated to only a /boot partition, properly boot up separate laptops with the least amount of effort?  Thanks for the help.

    ajstein wrote:@bstaletic Problem is only of the computers in question will support UEFI, the other will not.
    If you have the liberty/don't mind setting all the machines to booting in BIOS/UEFI's Legacy mode then this bit is sorted. However, if you want to leave things as they are, then you're onto the interesting case.
    ajstein wrote:@alphaniner Can you point me to some more info on syslinux, or explain why it will work better for this use case?  I have used many Linux distros for years, but like many lazy posers, such as yours truly, I have stuck with GRUB/GRUB2 and never tried the other bootloaders, unless you kind of count ReFIT and daisy-chaining.
    I've had better luck using Syslinux on portable hard disk installs than I have GRUB2, especially with some instances where the GRUB menu doesn't appear on certain machines, but GRUB is definitely loaded (something to do with screen size in pixels), where Syslinux has never failed to appear unless I've done a stupid.
    I think the Wiki should also help.

    I'm not used to AUR, and have no idea how to use it for now. I just want to get the 64-bit version plugin working asap without any complaexity.
    So is there any fast way to get it to work? (i'm open to adding a repository to my /etc/pacman.conf)
    Something like
    pacman -S flashplugin-prerelease
    would be good enough for me for now.
    So, how do I get it work quickly? (I'm also open to suggestions like extracting the libflashplayer.so library from http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs … 710.tar.gz to some system directory.)

    Hi,
    I think I understand your concern at most. I also had the same problem. What you can (should !!!) do is:
    1. Download this "Square" Preview Release from http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs … 710.tar.gz
    2. Unpack it
    3. Execute the command "mkdir ~/.mozilla/plugins/"
    4. Copy the unpacked libflashplayer.so into the above folder you created by doing "mv libflashplayer.so ~/.mozilla/plugins/"
    5. Restart your firefox
    6. Optional (check whether it is installed by typing about:plugins in your browser URL field.) you should be able to see this under shockwave flash.
    I have seen many people saying that this version does not work very well. For me it is working flawlessly and effortlessly. Once they publish the official version, I will switch to the newest. Otherwise, I really do not have any problem with it. Good for you! :-)

  • How to partition a USB flash-drive to install Arch Linux?

    Good afternoon,
    Could anyone please guide me in the right direction, how would I go about partitioning my USB flash-drive in order to install Arch Linux onto my Acer Aspire One? I've found guides, but none of them are specific enough - the static assumption being that the OS is already partitioned onto your flash-drive, and that is not the case for me.
    Much appreciated,
    A Swiftly Tilting Planet

    assuming your usb key is /dev/sdz
    # dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdz
    //cleans the usb drive
    # fdisk /dev/sdz
    // press m and read the help, make a partition, make it bootable
    // you have to press (double check anyway):
    // n, p, 1, <enter>, <enter>, a, 1, t, b, w
    # mkfs.vfat /dev/sdz1
    // formatting
    The first passage can actually replaced to something more modest, like:
    # dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdz bs=1024 count=1

  • How to get the arch of flash player plugin running in my web browser,32-bit or 64bit ?

    i need to get the arch with code.
    it is not easy to judge the arch by the plugin version code.
    HOW? ANY INTERFACE?
    Thanks!

    Thanks for your reply!
    Even though it  is available in beta on Adobe Labs,We can download 64-bit Flash Player from Adobe web site.
    On 64-bit Win 7 ,I use the web browser plug-in of eclipse SWT  to visit our web site ,
    and i find the flash could not be displayed ,instead with a small red cross in the top left corner of  web browser.
    Then uninstall 32-bit flash player and install 64-bit version,the flash could be displayed normally.
    So now, i am trying to find a method to detect the arch of the flash player.

  • Install arch voodoo from usb flash memory

    I am interested in anybody crazy enough to try this tutorial I made http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ins … ash_memory , I tested it with my hardaware and until now it was worked out great, but i am looking for second opinions.
    I also posted an updater script that will update the install packages, so you can always carry a freshly updated arch install, anybody willing to test it on any spare usb flash memory or external hd they might have, please do so.
    Cheers!

  • Install Arch in an USB Flash drive from an existing image

    I want to minimize the amount of writes to the flash drive by avoiding directly installing Arch into it.
    I would like to know if it would be possible to install arch into an small partition, configure it, and then make an image of it and dump it at the USB drive(like when creating the USB install).
    Does it worth the while doing so?
    Thanks!

    Sure.  You could do that, then just rsync or cp -ax it onto the Flash drive and set up GRUB.

  • Using flash drive after installing arch...?

    Will i be able to transport files as before, while having arch installed on a flash drive?
    I want to carry arch AND my personal files using the same flash drive in case i don't feel like booting into arch, say, on a friend's computer.
    Is it possible?
    Thanks for your knowlege!

    would i be able to use the same partition, like tateworthy says? as long as they're just sitting on the drive next to all the arch stuff, it shouldn't harm anything, right? what way i wouldn't necessarily need to change the amount of space available to arch as i would by partitioning.

  • [SOLVED] flash not working in arch

    hi
    i have arch+gnome3 and i installed "flashplugin 10.2.159.1-2" from repos but i dont have flash in my browsers(firefox+epiphany+chromium)

    thx

    ok, thx for answer
    i saw and about:plugins said no enabled plugin was founded
    i tried reinstalling and at the end after installation it said:
    "warning: directory permissions differ on usr/lib/mozilla/
    filesystem: 700  package: 75"
    and there is no directory ~/.mozilla/plugings ...
    there is just extensions and firefox folders..
    so, could this be a problem?
