Flash on international laptop

Will there be any issue with Flash running off a laptop form a different country it was developed on?  We just want to be able to open the html page and have everything running locally off the laptop. The application was made in USA and the laptops it will be running off of are from The Netherlands. Thanks.

If the machines can install the Flash Player then it should work.  Your best bet is to try it and see.

Install it directly from Adobe. Ensure that you use the uninstaller before installing.

Could be bad ram or logic board. Take it to an Apple store or AASP.

  • Uninstalling Adobe Flash from my laptop

I'm a totally computer retard....How do I fully uninstall Adobe Flash Player from my laptop?
Every since my friend tried to put it on my computer, it didn't install properly and now
I'm getting all sorts of warnings in my Systems Log Queries? :-/
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any help with this.
    Cheers,
    ~Sylkia

No, I would ask tech support at Adobe since it's their product. But I might hazard a guess you have a problem with your system, so before you run off to the Apple store and pay for service that you give this a try.
First, be sure Flash has been uninstalled. Second:
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

I've tried several different times to install the flash player on my laptop for the 1st time and when I get to the part of saving the file I click save and nothing happens after that. The same happens when I try to install Reader I click save and nothing happens. What is wrong here? Please can someone help me with this?

The installers are probably in your downloads folder.  You'll need to run them.

  • Flash 10.1 slower than Flash 10 on laptop

I picked up an older Dell Inspiron B120 laptop and was really disappointed at how some videos ran in full screen; it was very choppy, almost like a slideshow. I updated my video drivers, toggled the hardware acceleration settings, then finally tried different flash versions. I was using the latest 10.1.53.64 but downgraded to an earlier, archived 10 version whiched work much, much better on my laptop. I'm fine with this despite some security risks but what concerns me is that I'll eventually have to upgrade to 10.1 seeing as how Youtube likes to force you to use recent flash player versions.
    Specs:
    Windows XP SP3
    Intel Celeron-M 1.4 GHz 1 mb cache
    Intel 900gml graphics
    40 gb HD
Now, I don't expect stuff like h.264 video acceleration on this older machine but I don't expect things to drastically slow down in flash 10.1 either. What's going on here? Also, I'm using the latest video drivers for my chipset.

I too am having this exact problem but on a new desktop core 2 duo 4 GB RAM intel Q45 graphics.
    I updated the graphics driver.
Uninstalled and re installed flash 10.1 with no luck
    and disabled hardware acceleration.
computer is running windows XP with forced IE7.

  • Totally disable internal laptop screen to use only external

    Hi,
I have a laptop with a 8600M GS graphics card (yup, still alive) and a cracked LCD. I hooked up an external display with nvidia's drivers but I can't see how to totally disable the internal LCD. The reason I'd like to do that is that everything displays on the broken and now removed LCD rather than the external monitor
    Any advice?
    Thanks,

    flipper T wrote:
Have you got nvidia-settings installed ?
If so, first enable the external display then set then internal display resolution to "off"
Then save these settings (you may have to launch nvidia-setting as root from a terminal)
This is what I am getting over SSH
    lgp300 ~ $ nvidia-settings -q all
ERROR: The control display is undefined; please run `nvidia-settings --help` for usage information.

  • I have installed flash on my laptop, ie, but computer says no flash is installed. Help!

I have Windows Vista SP2, 4gb, 32 bit.    Each time I install Flash 11 (via links) or 11.5 (directly), the screen tells me either I must close IE (task manager says it is closed) or install is complete.  But when I go to the adobe flash site, it says no Adobe Flash has been installed.
I am running McAfee.  Any idea what I can do?  I would prefer to not use Chrome.

    Hello,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
While running Adobe Flash Player make sure IE is not running.
Launch Task Manager and under process tab there should no process with "iexplore.exe"..
Note : Make sure you click "Show process from all users"
If in case Adobe Flash Player is installed and IE does not play Adobe Flash content then check the Add-on and Active-X filtering (Under Tools)
    Thanks,
    Vikram

  • Flash repeatedly makes laptop freeze

I use Firefox on a MacBook running OS X Mavericks. Previously, everything ran fine, but in the last two weeks, doing Flash-based things such as watching Netflix, listening to Pandora Radio, etc, all make my computer freeze without warning. Doing something as simple as moving the window makes my computer freeze. I'll get the spinning beach ball for a second, and then it'll seize up, and I have to manually reboot the computer to get it working again. Flash has always been a CPU hogger, but my computer is only 1 1/2 years old, so it should be able to handle the demands. I've had to temporarily switch to Google Chrome just to run these sites without issue, but I'd rather use Firefox. And yes, I did everything suggested in the troubleshooting article and I even ran some maintenance programs on my computer, but it made no difference.

There are many troubleshooting articles, I just wanted to make sure. Could you please try to run Firefox in safe mode to see if the problem goes away?
[[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode|Firefox Safe Mode]] is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings and disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).
''(If you're using an added theme, switch to the Default theme.)''
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu by clicking on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item:<br>
    [[Image:FirefoxSafeMode|width=520]]<br><br>
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
    * On Windows: Hold the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * On Mac: Hold the '''option''' key while starting Firefox.
    * On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run ''firefox -safe-mode'' <br>(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]] article to find the cause.
''To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.
    Thank you.

  • Any codecs good for editing on internal laptop drive?

i know editing in a native dv or hdv format on a laptop isn't good and/or safe for the drive....so are there any codecs other than offline RT (I want to be able to send the clips to motion and make nice graphics, etc) I can capture to and edit and have the drive work so hard and have no future possible sync issues?
    THANK YOU
    God Bless America~!

The issue isn't really the codec, it's just that you are asking the system drive to do alot when you also use it to capture and playback media.
That being said, many people successfully capture to and edit DV on their MacBook Pro using the system drive. I've done it many times myself, I just don't rely on it if I have another choice.
External FW drives are so cheap these days, it only makes sense to use one for editing even if it's only to increase your storage space. Believe me, even if editing using the system drive works for you, you'll be amazed how quickly you fill that sucker up with media, render files etc.

Sometimes when I use my i can't acces to any file on my hdd and i get input/output error when i type commands in console(i even can't halt or reboot). This is used to happen suddenly after few hour of work in one session (not always, it happend three times during last week)

    Welcome to the forums.
Not exactly alot of info to go on here. Try reading up on the "How to post" article on the wiki.
As for the trouble at hand. With the limited info given, I'd say start off with running some health checks on your disk (smartctl, fsck,...).

  • Flash crashes Windows 7 Pro 64 bit IE11. Lenovo X301 laptop with Intel Graphics. Confirmed it happen

My company has several Lenovo X301 laptops with Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) running IE11. I load clean versions of Flash onto these laptops (latest version 12.0.0.77) and every single one of these laptops crashes when opening IE11.
One thing I noticed when I used the help.adobe.com site. Using IE11, the box which "dynamically displays the following information" shows the correct version of Flash player and OS but the browser says "None". If I run Chrome, it says the correct Flash version but the OS says "Windows 7 (32 bit) and the browser correctly says "Google Chrome".
The crash report for IE11, module name is Flash32_12_0_0_77.ocx.
    1. Why is the program unable to determine the correct browser?
    2. Why does it appear that a 64 bit program is trying to use a 32 bit plug-in?
    Any ideas?

    1. "User-Agent Strings"
Microsoft "rewrote" the User-Agent Strings for the abomination they call their latest and greatest browser. User-Agent Strings are what websites use to identify the browser you're using and provide the proper content for it's browser engine, like ActiveX stuff, and Flash or HTML5 video. Thanks to the geniuses in Redmond, WA, the User-Agent Strings for IE11 (which has a Trident engine), ID it as either "Gecko" (Firefox) or "Webkit" (Chrome). Problem is: when the site the directs to the content for one of these two engines, the Trident engine in IE can't intepret it and the site then sees IE as an "unidentified" browser.Microsoft has no immediate plans to "fix" the mess they've created.
    2. Chrome is a 32 bit browser, and will identify as such, including the plug-ins in it.
IE uses the plug-in from the SyWOW64 folder (WOW=Windows On WIndows - which runs 32 bit apps in the 64 bit environment)

    Hi Guys,
I have problem with my laptop that is HP Compaq 510, OS: window 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
My speaker internal laptop is not working. However, for speaker output to headphone jack is working. So, it will be grateful if anyone can give solution and suggestion for this problem.
    Thank in advance

    Hi,
Since the headphone is working, its not a problem with the OS or the sound drivers on the computer.
    Check the volume.
For me it looks like a Hardware issue. Contact the HP Service center if the computer is in warranty. They will fix this issue for you
