Flash page won't load in Safari

I have an IMac G5 (not intel based). I created a flash page for my website (www.oh-sad-she.com). The page will not load in Safari. All I get is a shockwave macromedia icon. Then, when I pull down the activity menu in safari, I get this message:
http://www.oh-sad-she.com/ 2 of 3 items (1 error)
http://www.oh-sad-she.com/favicon.ico not found
http://www.oh-sad-she.com/index.swf plug-in cancelled
The page works fine in Firefox. (I also notice though, that the page will not load in ANY other Safari browser, not just mine...ie: at work, others computers)
Can anyone please help!??
I would love to get this straightened out so I could finish my website.
(I've published flash pages before, and they work fine in Safari. It is just this page, would it be something I did differently when creating the flash/swf document?? Or is it safari?)
Thank you so much in advance!

Hi,
Try adding TYPE="application/x-shockwave-flash" to the embed tag.
This Adobe page has a some information on other things to try.
Macromedia Flash OBJECT and EMBED tag syntax.
Hope that helps.

  • Page won't load in Safari

    Hello,
I'm trying to open a page (http://drjeder.com) in the newest Safari under WINDOWS and the page won't load. All I see is a blank screen and a loading message (Other browsers can open it with no problem).
I then installed Safari (for Windows) on a different computer and it worked only for the first time, but after that it again wouldn't load. What causes this issue and how can it be resolved?
    Thanks in advance.

I am getting the same problem on Safari 4 (but it works fine on the Mac), so any help anyone can provide that would be useful.
The page I am having a problem with is http://www.iwebvisor.com/assets.aspx (but you need to have navigate to it through the site starting at http://www.iwebvisor.com/start.aspx)
During testing we never had an issue with this it has just occured when we pushed this out for go live.
Something else I have found is I can not replicate the error when I am running Fiddler2 (http://www.fiddler2.com/fiddler2/) to monitor the HTTP traffic, and there are no errors in the IIS log on the webserver. Its driving me insane.

  • Apple website pages won't load on Safari/IE

c2002 eMac that had to have the OS reinstalled. It is running Safari 1.0.3. I have installed all updates via the software updater and the issues I am having are the aluminum keyboard is no longer functioning correctly. When I go to apple/support to download updates the page will not load fully on safari preventing me from installing the needed updates.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks for your time.

Good advice from a brody, but might try this... could be a bit different for 10.0.x, can't remember...
Try putting these numbers in Network>TCP/IP>DNS Servers, for the Interface you connect with...
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
    Then Apply.
Is that Interface dragged to the top of Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations and checked ON?
The Interface that connects to the Internet, needs to be drug to the top of System Preferences>Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations and checked ON.
Open System Preferences>Network>Configure>Proxies Tab, make sure none are set, like for HTTP & HTTPS.

  • Please help. Flash file won't load on page that contains a form

Hi and thank you for viewing this post. I have a site located at http://www.marquis-online.com. If you wish to see the code, it's on the "contact us" page, or I have also attached the actual HTML document.. You will notice that I have a form on the page as well as the flash banner. When I take the form off, the flash works (Like on the other pages), but when the form is on the page, the flash banner won't load. It seems as though I can't have both on the same page. I don't get it. I would greatly appreciate some input. Thank you so much.
    Kevin

It works OK for me in Firefox.  Which browser(s) have you tested it on?
Flash form scripts may be conflicting with banner scripts.  I don't know.  Also, you have some validation errors on the page.  Start by fixing those.

  • Safari - Pages won't load

Hi. I hope someone can help me
There are two websites that my sister visits frequently on my eMac. She has never had problems before and now the pages won't load. We've tried other sites and aren't having any problems. I've also emptied the cache and reset Safari and it still won't work. We thought that there were problems with the website, but a friend loaded both pages just fine on a different machine.
    Can anyone help?

Have you tried using masking Safari as another browser to see if the pages the machine is visiting have been instructed not to show content if the browser is not one expected?
If you go to the Debug menu and select user agent, you can disguise Safari as another borwser. Also, from the Debug menu, you can use the Open page with menu to select the alternative browser you would like to use to open the pages.
Alternatively, you might contact the owners of the site(s). Also, you might go to the Safari menu and Report Bugs to Apple.

  • Safari pages won't load since Mavericks upgrade

Installed Mavericks a few days ago on my iMac and some really annoying bugs have been introduced to Mail (7.3) and Safari (7.0.6). I can't automatically add multiple addresses to emails anymore using the space bar; I have to manually type out certain addresses, add commas, etc. Certain webpages, including youtube and google, won't load on Safari. Chat support had me repair permissions with disk utility, clear cookies and reset safari, but none worked. It was also suggested that I do an SMC reset, a PRAM reset, and a safe reboot. I haven't done any of these, basically because I'm nervous about introducing any more wonkiness that I can't undo. I've been reading about similar problems with Mavericks for months now (I only upgraded because I needed it for Final Cut) , but I never see any solutions. Can anyone help me???  Thanks.

Go step by step and test.

  • Certain Web Pages won't load for roughly 60 seconds

I was tempted to put this in the 'Safari' section, but after a little more trial I thought it went deeper than that.
The issue is, for about two weeks now, i'll be surfing the web and then head to one of my commonly visited websites (namely Wikipedia, Google, Huffington Post, and this website) and though I'm fully connected to the internet, the pages won't load and i get the "Server Not Found" noitce.
I don't, however, have this problem with ALL webpages when this is happening to the others. Gmail, Facebook, Mediaite, etc. all have no issue and they work just fine.
Primarily I use Google Chrome as my browser. So the first thing i did was clear the cache to see if it would help, but nothing changed. So i opened both Safari and Firefox and they both suffer the same problem. After about 60 seconds the issue goes away and all things are normal again. About 10 to 15 minutes later, if I'm still surfing the web, the problem may creep back up again. I can't say for sure but I've noticed that this typically happens when I first try to go to those pages after a few hours of not using the net.
When this happens, I've also tried loading these pages on my iPhone and iPad during the 60 seconds and have encountered the same problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Livejournal pages won't load

I have snow leopard. Security updates will no longer download. I get a can't access page notice. Livejournal pages won't load though they work fine if I go through safari. What can I do. At this point it is insane to continue to try to use mozilla because so many sites and pages won't load and I'm no longer secure.

I loathe people that say in this communities, "I have that problem, too", without providing a solution. My tentative fix is as follows,
    1. Close every app that is open.
    2. Restart OS X (I am using 10.10.1.). Do not select, "Reopen applications...."
    3. Wait until the system has fully loaded (the desktop is populated).
    4. With all apps closed-open Pages.
    5. It does does take a minute or two of crunch time, but Pages does open.
    6. If you have documents in the "Pages Cloud", you will need a functioning Wi-Fi (or related).
    7. Optional- download to your desktop or an external drive (that is reliable) "Pages In the Cloud" documents that are essential to your occupational (or academic) well-being.
This is an labor intensive process. I recommend you start Pages, and keep it open. I did note the problem started with the January 8, 2015 update, which is unfortunate.
I was thinking of deleting Pages (cleanly, using say, Mackeeper) and re-installing. Alas, I am afraid of the unknown-could be creating more work than is necessary.
I thought I would never utter these words-if all else fails, use Word for Mac.

  • IWeb page won't load if password protected

Okay, so I finally found my problem - my web page won't load when it is password protected. But I have kids, so I want to make sure that only family and friends see the page. Is anyone else having this problem?
    Thank you!

Here is a reiteration of the problem at hand, in case someone can help me figure this out:
My web page can be accessed from internet explorer on my husband's laptop, but I cannot access my webpage. It just keeps saying "loading" when actually it should be showing me the "user name" and "password" stuff. Safari just keeps spinning and "loading," but it never makes any progress, since I can't SEE the password dropdown request. Is this a Safari problem, an iDisk problem, or what??? Where should I post this so I can get help?

  • Pictures won't load in Safari, or any other browser

I have an intermittent problem where internet pictures won't load. This seems to happen mostly on social networking or picture intensive sites. I've particularly had trouble with myspace, livejournal, facebook, flickr, okcupid, etc., but it is not limited to those sites. Sometimes pics won't load in Safari but will load in firefox. Sometimes the other way around. Sometimes neither of those browsers will work, and neither will opera, explorer, etc. It doesn't seem to matter whether I'm connected by airport or ethernet. I Know it is not my internet connection because I have a PC on the same network that never has this problem. When I travel with my macbook, the problem comes with me.
I am currently running 10.5.2 on a 2 GHZ macbook. Previously, I had this exact same problem on a 550 MHZ Titanium Powerbook G4 running 10.4. I used to think it was just my old slow computer, but when I upgraded computers I transferred all my files and settings with the migration assistant, and the problem seems to have followed.
    Things I have tried:
    1. Making a new user account. I added a new account but did not delete my old one or do a clean install. This did not work.
    2. Using a new DNS server. No dice.
    Any suggestions?

  • Flash player won't install on safari 7.0.3 any hints?

flash player won't install on safari 7.0.3 .  I can download but the install stops at 50%.  I have allowed plug ins.
    any hints?

jabenn, I believe this to be caused by an issue with the Flash Player Install Manager, which Adobe is aware of.
As a first step, you could try removing it from the folder Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash Player. If you see a folder in that location entitled "Flash Player Install Manager", you need to trash it (you will need to enter and Admin password to authorise that step). This is recommended by Adobe. Now try again.
If that still fails, you can either follow the full Uninstall / Re-install process set out here: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1267823  ... or use my three-step workaround to save time, hassle and restarting. This starts at the scenario described in your initial post (i.e. a stalled installation):
Force quit Adobe Flash Player Install Manager
Locate and mount the Flash Player Installer disk image with Disk Utility
Locate the Adobe Flash Player installer package within the Install Manager app and run the installation from Finder
    Hope this helps. Enjoy.
    --- Those steps in detail:
    1. Force quit Adobe Flash Player Install Manager
Press these three keys together: Cmd + Option (or Alt) + esc
Select Adobe Flash Player Install Manager in the popup window titled "Force Quit Applications"
Hit return or click the button labelled "Force Quit"
    2. Locate and mount the Flash Player Installer disk image with Disk Utility
Open Disk Utility (in Applications/Utilities folder or find it with Spotlight)
On the left hand side, your attached drives and mounted volumes are listed above a horizontal line. Below that line you should see one or more disk images (named e.g. something.dmg). These are recently accessed disk images - including one containing the adobe updater.
At or near the bottom of that list you should see something called decryptedFile.dmg
Under that you might see a (greyed out) volume image called Flash Player
Double click decryptedFile.dmg (or the Flash Player volume if you can see it - it makes no difference).
This should mount a volume titled "Flash Player" and automatically open a finder window showing the contents.
The volume "Flash Player" will show up in your Finder sidebar and on your desktop (unless you've chosen not to show External Disks in Finder preferences)
    3. Locate the Adobe Flash Player installer package and run the installation from Finder
You should by now have a Finder window open showing the contents of the volume "Flash Player". If not, open a new Finder window and click on Flash Player in the sidebar. The sole contents are an app called Install Adobe Flash Player.
Right click the item "Install Adobe Flash Player" and select "Show Package Contents" from the contextual menu that appears.
This opens a new window showing a folder called "Contents". Open it by double clicking to reveal the contents including a folder called "Resources".
Locate and open the folder "Resources" and look for a file called Adobe Flash Player ("Adobe Flash Player.pkg")
This is the Installer Package for the update. Double Click it.
Don't be put off by the words "Welcome to the Adobe Flash Player Installer" - this is not the Adobe Flash Install Manager (the one that failed you earlier) this is Apple's "Installer" app.
Follow the steps to the end then eject the volume Flash Player in the normal way (e.g. Finder sidebar)
Open the Flash Player control panel to check the current version has now been updated.
Don't be put off by "PPAPI Plug-in is not installed" - you can ignore it.
Some steps may go differently if you are running a different version of Mac OS X ( I use 10.6.8 and wrote my guide accordingly).
