Flash & Photoshop CS4 Open Simultaneous Issue.

I am running Window 7 64 bit with 6 gb of RAM, two E5520 Xeons, two 10k raptors, one 320gb HD, and a ATI FirePro V5700. Brand New
machine and a Fresh install of windows.
Everytime Photoshop CS4 is open it will cause Flash Cs4 to Crash. I can work in Flash without any issues until Photoshop is opened. Flash will usually crash in under 5 min with Photoshop open. I have tested this over and over and it is Photoshop causing Flash to crash. Does not matter whether I am running the 32 or 64 bit version of Photoshop. I am starting to believe it is a memory issue but I am not sure or how to fix if it is.I have tested the memory and it passed all tests. This is really killing my production time. Help please...
Attached is the Error Log.

I just installed the latest Wacom Driver because I noticed clicking was causing the crashes when PS and Flash are open. So far I have not had Flash crash. I am keeping my finger crossed that the Wacom tablet was the issue and it is just classic driver issues with a new release of Windows. I will post back if it starts to crash again.

  • Help: Photoshop CS4, Opens Adobe Help Website Automatically. Stuck in a loop.

    Hello there!
I am having an issue with Adobe Photoshop CS4 (part of Creative Suite Web edition).  Any action, including switching to the Photoshop windows automatically swaps out to Firefox and opens the Adobe help website.
My current action was converting a pentool path to a selection when the problem began.
I'm using Windows 7 on a PC.  Any help on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you.

Hi there and thank you for responding. :-)
I chose poor wording.  I wasn't using a predefined action when the problem started.  I used the pen tool to create a path and then right clicked to open the drop down, selected make selection and the error occured when the make selection dialogue box opened.
The Adobe help site then opened in Firefox.  Returning to Photoshop, even just by alt-tab swapping back resulted in the help site opening again.
Ultimaty, I didn't find a solution, and used the task manager to force Photoshop to quit/crash.
I've had the error pop up once or twice before, but it is infrequent.  I'd just like to try to find a preventitive method or solution, as so far, any time it's started, the only thing I can do is force Photoshop to quit completely.
I'm very sorry that I can't provide screenshots, but I hope that the explaination and additional system informaion might help.
    Additional Info:
I don't know if this will be of any help, but my hardware setup is as follows
Wacom Intuos 4 Tablet and Grip Pen Stylus. (The standard pen which is included with the tablet.)
Processor: Dual Intel Core i7 CPR 920 @ 2.67 GHZ
    RAM: 12.0 GB
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium Edition, 64 Bit
Graphics Card: Dual Nvidia Gforce 9800
And I am using Adobe Photoshop CS4, the version which ships with Adobe Creative Suite 4 Web Premium Edition.

  • Photoshop cs4 opens images black and only in camera raw

I'm running Photoshop cs4 on a pc. Recently, it began having 2 issues. First, it started opening everything into Bridge Camera Raw instead of just opening the image itself. Next issue is that when I attempt to open an image from Camera Raw, it opens black. I can see the image is there in a layer, but the working screen is black. Every once in a while it will open normally. This is with all images, no matter what size the are.

On a Mac I don't know which directory it should be in.
Camera Raw preferences: Bridge: menu Adobe Bridge/ Camera Raw preferences.
Inhere you can set the wished behavior for tiff. By default it shows tiffs
only in ACR when you choose to do so with right mouse click menu (open in
Camera Raw) or if the Tiff had earlier been altered in ACR, then it opens
automatically in ACR unless you choose not to do so.

  • Photoshop CS4 3d painting issues.

    Hello!
I am using Photoshop CS4 Extended. I have imported a 3D image and am trying to paint onto it. I have watched a ton of videos and read a bunch of forums. Once I put even a dot of paint on my object, the whole 3D image is covered in paint. Does anyone have any ideas what the issue is?
    Thanks!

Could You post the file (provided it’s not too big) or at least a screenshot of the 3D (Materials)-Panel with some of the problematic Material selected?

  • Photoshop CS4 wierd color issue

    Hi,
When I paste something into photoshop cs4 it seems that the colors are washed out or a little off. I noticed this one day when I was working and I haven't been able to fix it since. I even deleted the photoshop profile which didn't seem to fix the problem. How can I reset all of the color settings/presets.
    http://homepages.wmich.edu/~m6newton1/washed%20out.bmp
I also don't know if this helps but... When I do a "save for web," the preview there shows the correct color. But when I open up the file it produces with MS Paint/Windows Image Previewer it shows a washed out version.
Any suggestions are welcome, Thank you for your time.

Bart's only partly right here. What's going on is that you haven't activated the color management in Firefox, and since it's now showing you "monitor RGB" any difference between your working space and your monitor space will show up.
Photoshop doesn't show the difference because it uses both the working space profile AND your monitor profile to display your file. Setting your Photoshop RGB working space to your monitor profile effectively hides the problem by forcing Ps to act like a non color managed app, but doesn't really fix it.
Make sure that your web destined files are in sRGB, that you embed that profile in your images, and you turn on the color management in Firefox. At least you're not using IE which doesn't even have that option.
The last part of the equation here is the type of monitor you are using. sRGB is the standard for the web and until recently most monitors WERE more or less sRGB. Now, with more and more wide gamut LCD screens available, it gets even more confusing as your "monitor rgb" is no longer close to sRGB, making color management in web browsers and image browser all the more necessary.
Your problem is pervasive today and one of the most complained about problems out there. Understanding basic color theory explains it, but users need to insist that application vendors implement profile awareness in their products. It's only going to get worse going forward.

  • Photoshop CS4 opening up only partially

    Hi!
I am having trouble getting Photoshop CS4 to fully open up on the monitor screen.   It opens up and is showing just the very right side of the CS4 on the very far left side of the monitor.  The resizing tabs do not work. I have to shut down and restart the whole computer because if I try to use something else bits of other displays show up in the CS4 box.
    Rebecca

Sounds like another case of a display driver with a problem.  Photoshop demands a lot of the display interface.
What kind of computer is it, what video card do you have in it, and what operating system are you running?
If you're comfortable with maintaining your system, visit the web site of the maker of your video card (e.g., nVidia.com, ATI.com, etc.), and download/install their latest display driver for your card.  This solves many display problems with Photoshop.

  • Can Photoshop CS4 open a .CR2 file ext.?

I recently had a photoshoot done. the images are on a .CR2 ext. I was advised that I would be able to open themup in Photoshop CS4 but it's not working.  Any advice???

CR2 is a generic extension for all Canon raw files.
They will open (indirectly) in CS4 using the ACR plug-in.
You need to check the camera model and tell us – not all CR2 files are the same.

  • Photoshop CS4 Installation Crash Issues

    Hey all.
I was installing the trial version of CS4 (on Vista) when my power went out. When I tried to install again, I kept getting this error message:
    >- undefined
    >- The installer database is invalid: please re-install the product from the original media
I checked the log and these are the errors I picked up:
    >Failed to create payload session.
    >Unable to load fileOptions from C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\faf656ef605427ee2f42989c3ad31b8\resources\pages\Install\Options\Op tions.js

I've tried a ton of different *solutions* to try and fix this. My attempt to uninstall via control panel failed, i got the same error message is the install. I can't find any CS4 folders in the regedit, so that didn't work. I downloaded windows install wizard utility, ran that, as well as the adobe cs4 cleanup script.
I manually deleted the common files > installer folder. I even uninstalled the illustrator CS4 trial.
Lastly i did a system restore.
    Nothing seems to work.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Why doesn't Photoshop CS4 open DNG files created in Photoshop CS5?

I download raw photo files from my Leica Dlux 4 and convert the Leica raw files to DNG files using CS5 Bridge.  Recently I discovered that when I try to access these DNG files in Photoshop CS4 I get a message saying 'cannot access this file'.  The files also do not show up as thumbnails in CS4 Bridge.  Do I need an upgrade or a plug in to see DNG files created in CS5 Bridge in Photoshop CS4?

  • Why can't Photoshop CS4 open/save as PNG?

I recently had to downgrade to CS4 and I've been having A LOT of issues with it. The biggest one being the inability to cooperate with PNG files.
Online I've seen a few sollutions and I tried them all. I have PNG.8BI in my plug-ins folder in my Program Files, I ran it through my antivirus and it came back clean, I'm working in RBG color mode. Still nothing.
    Any other ideas?

  • Photoshop CS4 re install issue

Hi folks, I recently purchased a pre intel G5 power pc, that came fully loaded with all installation disks copied in various places. (ilife, CS4 suite etc.) I was having issues with my CS4 photoshop recognizing my Epson V300. After a few internet searches I was told that if I uninsall my ps, then reinstall it and located the "goodies" folder I could copy the twain resource and all would be well... so of course I uninstalled using the Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium folder that I located in an Adobe Installers folder in my utilities folder. Now if I attempt to re install, it's not on the list of installs. any help out there? much thanks, I don't have the original disks as I purchased this loaded (supposedly with all installation items copied on the secondary drive)
    much thanks
    JMH

Did you specifically buy the Adobe Photoshop license (serial number) with that Mac system?
Or does the original user still have the media and serial number to use on their newer Mac (or did they use it to buy an upgrade)?  If any of these are the case, you don't have a valid license for Photoshop and no one here is going to be able to help you.

  • Photoshop CS4 Liquify tool issue...

I have recently upgraded from CS3 to CS4 and now find that the liquify tool does not work in "real time". On CS3 I had no problems. Now when I try to perform an action, I click the mouse and get the beachball for a few seconds then the results. As you can imagine, this is extremely frustrating. I am running it on my 24" iMac, 2.16 GHz Core 2 Duo with the maximum 3 GB ram.
    Any advice will be helpful.
    Thanks!

*My* first post was #11 ;)
Scratch disk: Internal HDD only. Then about 10Gb free. (Too little, I know)
Memory: 100% (3072Mb out of the 5.5Gb in the machine). Tried setting "maximum ideal" (71%: 2211Mb); no difference.
But the point is, if I connect a FW external, PSCS does *not* slow down, but does use (allocate) 10Gb on that disk when liquifying. (I'd notice a slow down if it actually wrote 10Gb over FW800, ,so I don't think it uses any; light on the disk also shows no activity.)
Cache and temp were cleaned before. (OnyX).
FW External is a 500Gb, two partition, one of 160Gb (16Gb available), one of 305Gb (167Gb available).
The USB drive was from work, so not here anymore, but IIRC it's also 500 Gb, 1/2 to 2/3 filled.
On a side note (maybe totally unrelated): Why is PS using 3Gb of virtual memory, when there's still 3Gb available? (PS starts using VM when there's still *a lot* of free memory. (I know the difference between "free" and "inactive")
(This is for testing: with approx. 10 files open, 190Mb each )
