Flash Player 10.0.32.18 won't run at all

I've downloaded & uninstalled Flash Player 10.0.32.18 several times now to no avail!  I used to be able to view videos online but now there's nothing happening and I'm getting very frustrated with whatever's causing Flash to not work properly.  I've tried to install earlier versions and then upgrade... and nothing but the same.  The older versions won't work either!!
I have Windows XP Professional ver 5.1 (sp 3) on my system; Pentium 4 3.2G with 1 G of ram which is on a networked system.  The odd thing... other computers on the system have no problem viewing flash videos.  I have recently reset my security and advanced settings to default; have changed ActiveX to several different settings based on what I've read on variuos posts & still nothing.
ANY help that would solve this frustrating problem ...greatly appreciated!!
Thanks

dont have a solution but do have simlar issues
version 10,0,32,18 fails to play MP4 video 10,0,22,87 does
Does not work to play MP4 on websites
example www.30atelevision.com
version 10,0,32,18 installed -- this in on my computer
It appears in fact that the file TIMELINE plays, but does not deliver video or audio.
Works
version 10,0,22,87 installed -- This will play MP4 as does Flash player 9.
having Air installed appears to worsen situation
Yet again ADOBE releases a product that is not backward compatible.
Post solutions to help address this issue as well as issues running at all
It seems that going back to previous versions does not work, maybe there is a footprint left that is causing olderversions to be negated
this is classic adobe, its been happening for years. Want you to update then when you do it breaks whats been working for a long time
What giant leaps are made with these updates, none, all we want to do it play video and live stream
Stop breaking stuff adobe

  • Flash Player 16 Installer opens but won't run on 64 bit Wdws 7 and IE 11

I have Flash Player ActiveX Ver. 15.0.0.246 installed on my Dell Inspiron N7010 (Intel Core i3 processor) laptop, running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS with Service Pack 1, 6 GB of RAM, and using Internet Explorer Ver. 11.0, 32-bit browser.  Flash Player notified me that it was time to update to Flash Player Ver 16.0, and took me to the website to download the installer.  I first disabled my anti-virus (ESET NOD32 Ver 8.0.) and malware (Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Ver 2.0.4) software, and then clicked the 'Install' button on the website.  After I gave my security software permission to let it run, it opened the blank black installer window (labeled "Adobe Flash Player Installer").  Nothing happened after that.  No indications that anything was happening appeared in either the Adobe website window or the installer window.  (The Adobe website window had advanced to "Step 2 of 3.")  I gave it 10 or 15 minutes, then clicked the red "X" button in the upper right corner of the window to close it, but the installer window would not close.  I had to use the Windows Task Manager to shut it down.  I tried rebooting and re-attempting several times, but never was able to get the installer to run.
The installer ran fine on my other computer, which has the same configuration / version nos. of OS, IE, AV, A-Malware, and Flash Player, and I was able to successfully upgrade it to FP 16.0.
I have noticed that several others on this forum are having this problem, but with other combinations of OS and browsers, and I did not find a definitive solution for this problem that appeared to be applicable to my combination of software (defined above). If anyone with this combination of software has solved this problem, would you please be kind enough to provide a step-by-step description of the solution, on this forum, in layman's terms, and provide screen shots where little-known Windows, IE, or Flash Player steps / processes / menu choices are involved.

You write that you "downloaded", but did you also install it?
What version does it tell you is installed at http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html#main_Find_the_Flash_ Player_version_installed_on_your_machine ?

    download the FP uninstaller from http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157 (save to disk);
    download the offline ActiveX installer http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe (save to disk);

It looks like ocz is aware of the issue and trying to address it via firmware:

  • Flash Player 10.2.152.32 won't play FLV file

I seem to be having similar problems to several others here.
I am running Windows XP, SP3, 32 bit on Dell Pentium 4, 2Gigs of RAM, 3.0Gig HD.
Since the March 8, 2011 update I have not been able to play FLV files.  Previous to the upgrade, I was able to play these same files.
I have checked - Shockwave Flash Object (VS 8.0.24.0) is apparently installed and enabled, although it DOES NOT show up in the file list (that I can tell at least) in the System32/Macromedia folder.  It may be called something else perhaps?  These are the files that show as updated on March 8, 2011.
    Flash10n.ocx - Active X Control
    FlashInstall - text file
    FlashUtil10n_ActiveX - application
    FlashUtil10n_ActiveX.dll - application extension
    Files with previous dates are:
    flashplayer.xpt - XPT file, install - text document - dated Feb 17, 2010, NPSWF32.dll - dated Nov. 20, 2007, and NPSWF32_FlashUtil - also dated Nov. 20, 2007.
I can play stuff from YouTube.  I am able to see the Flashy thing turn on the link you supplied to others here.
My security is set to "Medium".  I have had NO virus issues, and run a VERY tight anti-virus protocol with AVG, AdAware and SpyBot all active, updated either daily (automatically) or weekly (manually).
Should I uninstall and then re-install, so the SFO will be included, or is there a way to retrieve the (apparently) missing Shockwave Flash Object file on its own?  This issue has now taken up my entire evening, and I am ready to PERMANENTLY delete Flash from my life!
    Thanks,

Hi, you don't need to scream at me. I've been on the Forum 12 hours today and 12 hours yesterday helping users with their problems. This past week I had over 1,000 email notifications in my email account and 90% were from the Flash Player Forum.
    And this:Let's try again..........arrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
Please don't insult me and act like I don't know what I'm doing or talking about.
The Shockwave Flash Object is not supposed to be in the System32 ...Flash file location. It is never there. It is always in the addons of the browser, it must be since it is the Flash Player Control. Without it and without it being the correct version(which yours is not) Flash Player cannot work! I repeat, Flash Player is a browser plugin and works thru the browser.
The fact that you have a 32bit OS doesn't tell me anything about what browsers you use. I have a 32bit OS, but I use IE6 on one and the other PC I use IE8.
I know you checked some of my posts, I'm not so dumb that I don't recognize my own writing.
Yes, you need to Uninstall and Install again, that is the only way you are going to have the correct SFO Installed.
If you'd tone it down some, I may give you the best way to do that in order to be successful in that.
However, it won't be tonight. Maybe you'll be in a better mood tomorrow.
    Regards,
    eidnolb

  • Flash player 10.2.152.32 won't work with IE 9 x64

    Win 7 Ultimate, x64
    Symantec Endpoint 10.6
I just installed IE 9.  Upgrading from IE 8. where all videos and Flash player 10.1 worked properly.
When I visit various web sites (CNet, You Tube e.t.c.) I get the notification that I need to install
Flash Player 10.2 for the videos to play.  Flash player 10.2 is allready installed. Videos won't play.
I Have followed all of the threads and performed all corrective measures.
When I ununstall IE 9 and go back to IE 8, all videos work.
Is the problem with IE 9 or Flash Player 10.2?

eidnol you have the answer for me, thanks very much.
You said "...Go to Tools, Manage addons and under "Show"(light text) and in All addons, find Shockwave Flash Object. Is it Installed, Enabled and version?".  I checked the Addons and Shockwave Flash Object was disabled.  When this was enabled Youtube worked fine.
My system is XP-SP3 with IE8 plus Adobe Flash 10.3 ( which I have installed about 100 times).
    Once again, thank you.

  • Flash Player Freezes While Buffering Then Won't Proceed Even After Computer Restart

I am having frequent problems with Flash Player freezing while watching Korean dramas hosted online (http://www.mysoju.com/empress-chun-chu/). Flash Player freezes while viewing file and then won't proceed past that point even if I close all browser windows and even if I restart my computer. Sometimes I can get around this by saving the file to my hard drive using Real Player "download this video" button. However, the download often freezes at what appears to be the same point as the freeze in the streaming Flash Player. Even if I delete this partial file from my hard drive, repeated efforts to download the file again result in instantaneous file completed messages with a new incomplete (partial) file of exactly the same size as before. I can't find where Flash Player or  MS Windows Vista is storing the partial download files. Any help would be greatly aprreciated.
It appears these Flash Player freezes may be causing or resulting from DSL modem or wireless router connection problems that result in the internet light on the DSL modem not being lit. These problems seem limited to web browser pages with flash player.

  • I have got the new version of Adobe Flash Player. How come it won't let me use omegle or chatroulette and it keeps crashing?

Everytime I load chatroulette it says that Adobe Flash Player has crashed, when on omegle and I click the video tab it says that it crashes. However my Flash Player works for games on facebook. I know it's the most recent version as I needed to get the latest version to play a game on facebook.

There is a way to manually turn off the new protected mode of Flash 11.3, if you do not want to try an earlier version. In this support article from Adobe it's under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493 Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]

  • Adobe Flash Player 11.4 quits working, won't show videos even after reinstalling.

Had Adobe Flash Player 11.3 r300 and it stopped showing videos, etc. in Firefox a few days ago. Now I've installed v 11.4 r402 and it still gives error message "Adobe Flash Player ... has stopped working." I uninstalled, downloaded again and reinstalled -- with the same result. No videos. Firefox Plugin check page shows it installed correctly. Any solutions?

    Warning: Installing Adobe Flash 10.3
The instructions in the 11.3 crash article on installing the 10.3 don't tell you that the Active X Flash version must also be installed because the Adobe Uninstaller uninstalls ALL installed Flash and certain programs require that to work properly. I reported this two months ago and although I was thanked for it it was ignored by Staff and only corrected in the viewing videos problem article, which links to the crash article. If I have to do the job of Staff I'm happy to oblige, since there is no excuse for this. I actually corrected this same error by a Mozilla QA engineer who left out this same step in her testing on a bug report, and I got the expected result, she didn't.
jscher2000's recommendations are good, I'm only supplementing the crash article instructions for anyone who needs that.

  • After installing Mozilla Firefox 20.0 with Adobe Flash Player 11.6, YouTube videos won't load properly.

YouTube videos worked fine before installing Adobe Flash Player. When installed the screen flickers after one second, rewinds to the beginning, then plays normally. This doesn't occur when I use Internet Explorer. I have reinstalled both Mozilla Firefox and Adobe Flash Player many times but nothing seems to work . Downgrading Adobe Flash Player didn't work either. It seems like Firefox is the problem but I'm not completely sure.

    Hi All,
Thanks a lot "cor-el". I also suffered from the above issue. And after I disabled the protected mode by editing "mms.cfg" file the issue got resolved. Now flash player is working fine.

  • Flash Player 10.2.152.26 won't install/function. Help?

System is a 2 year old Dell Inspiron
desktop with 204GB of free space running Windows Vista (32 bit).  Security consists of Microsoft Security Essentials, Spybot Search & Destroy, Windows Defender (although Defender has recently refused to open after restart) and, as of yesterday, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.  A full scan yesterday with MBAB resulted in 4 items being detected and quarantined.  A quick scan today yielded nothing.  Security level is set to medium.  Internet zone is set to medium.  Active scripting is enabled in both trusted sites and internet zone.
When I download Flash Player from the Adobe site or run it from the computer it appears in Program & Features but will not play video clips or other feeds that require it.  No error messages are displayed during download.  Adobe.com/software/flash/about indicates that Flash Player is not installed.  I have tried turning off both Windows Firewall and the pop-up blocker during download/installation and this makes no difference.
One odd thing - Video clips in Real Player that were originally viewed with Flash Player and then downloaded will not play unless Flash Player appears in Programs & Features.  So apparently Real Player recognizes that Flash Player is present (in some form).
    Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi, I think you need to follow this procedure and do so carefully. Use the links from here, not from your email. If Malwarebytes is  just the standalone on your Desktop, then you don't need to disable it. However read over these instructions regarding Spybot. If you use the SD Helper, disable it also(was TeaTimer) Where you see Spybot in the instructions, this should be included also. Just a FYI, MSE automatically disables Windows Defender.
First download and SAVE the FP Uninstaller to your Desktop:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
Next go to this Archived site   http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html     Download the Flash Player 9.0.280 21.8 MB to your Desktop. This is a zipfile.
Look for and extract: Internet Explorer flashplayer9r280_winax.exe and put it on your Desktop.  (1.46 MB)
Download the FP Installer for IE and SAVE to your Desktop:(latest version)
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe
Once you have those on your Desktop, Using the Administrator Account, you will CLOSE all browser windows.
    Disable Spybot.
Look in your system tray(area near the clock) for any instant messengers, aol, yahoo, etc and Disable them.
Run the Uninstaller and when it is finished, Reboot(restart) your computer.
Check and make sure Spybot is still Disabled.
Run the Installer for vs 9 and when finished, Reboot your computer
Test your browser here and you should be able to see the Flash logo animation(spin) and the version of Flash Player should be listed.
http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ It should be vs 9
Now you will run the Uninstaller again to Uninstall vs 9, when finished, Reboot your computer
Check and make sure Spybot is still Disabled.
Run the Installer for vs 10.2.152.26 and when finished, Reboot your computer.
Then test your browser and you should have vs 10.2.152.26 now Installed. If you can see the Flash logo animation(spin) then most likely you have Shockwave Flash Object in the IE addons, so check that and make sure it is Enabled..
You will want to Print these instructions out to make it easier to follow.
If you have any questions, let me know.
    Thanks,
    eidnolb

I was on vacation for 3 week and havent used my Laptop in the entire time to go on the internet so when i was back i had to install the new flash player version 10.0.32.18 to watch movies on Youtube etc.
Well i did and it says: Installatie is voltooid. That's dutch for Installation complete.
But when that was done i went back to youtube, but still it says i need to install the new version.
I've tried several times to uninstall and reinstall, i've looked on the web for solutions but none of them worked :s
I'm now really frustrated and Dieing to get the solution.
If someone knows the solution please do contact me or post it here
    Thanks in advance.

  • Flash Player 10.0.32.18 won't uninstall with uninstaller

Running XP Home 32 bit sp3
Running firefox 5.0 (preferred) IE 8, Opera
Noticed that flash player 10.3 did not install after upgrade to firefox 5.  Downloaded 10.3 manually.  Ran installer.  It said instalation was complete.  Went to "about flash player,"  Found version 10.0.32.18 still installed.  Searched forum for fix, Downloaded uninstaller to desk top.  Closed browser windows.  Ran uninstaller.  It said uninstall was complete.  Restarted computer.  Went to about flash player.  Still 10.0.32.18.  Have retried several times.  No dice.  Can play youtube, but not yahoo movie trailers.
Anybody got a solution to force uninstall?
I'm an amateur, but I can read and follow directions if they are precise and step by step.
    Thanks,
    Hazard

Seems like there is something wrong with this file or folder.
The best option to remove a file that is stuck like this is Unlocker.  You can use this tool in normal mode, you don't need to be in Safe Mode.
However, I don't feel good just to delete this file; if you don't mind to go through some extra steps to unregister the file first.
open a Command Prompt: Start | Run | type cmd
in the Command Prompt window type the following series of commands
    cd \
    cd Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash
    regsvr32 /u Flash10a.ocx
    exit
Now you can safely delete anything in that folder; use Unlocker where necessary.
