Flash Player 10.1 Not Pushing to Win7 Via GPO
We push out Flash Player to all our PCs on our network using Group Policy. Normally this is a relatively simple process where you put the installers (activeX and plugin) on a shared folder, create a new policy and point the Software Installation to the files and then it works. This time around, with the 10.1.53.64 updates it fails on Windows 7 with the following System Event Log errors:
Event 101 - Application Management Group Policy :
The assignment of application Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX from policy Flash.IE.Plugin.Push.10.1 failed. The error was : %%1274
Event 103: Application Management Group Policy:
The removal of the assignment of application Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX from policy Flash.IE.Plugin.Push.10.1 failed. The error was : %%2
Event 108: Application Management Group Policy:
Failed to apply changes to software installation settings. The installation of software deployed through Group Policy for this user has been delayed until the next logon because the changes must be applied before the user logon. The error was : %%1274
I'm upgrading these PCs from 10.0.45.2, the previous version, but I generally just set the Software Installation to just install on the top of it and never had any issues.
I did look at some Technet articles that seems to try and point the issue to accounts not getting to these folders, but you can browse to them no problem and they push to XP and Vista okay.
Any ideas what could be going wrong?
My solution for the old 10.1.53.64 was to make sure all the latest Windows 7 updates were on the PCs. For some reason when it was released I couldn't get it installed, then Microsoft did an out of band groups of updates that seemed to fix it. So that's my best recommendation.
I ran into installation issues with the new 10.1.82.76 and for that one my fix was to first take the MSI and run it as an administrative installation point by using "msiexec /a install_flash_player_10_plugin.msi" and then pointing it to a folder everyone had access to. From there I created a new GPO with a software installation set to remove the old 10.1.53.64 when installing 10.1.82.76 and it worked for me on XP/Vista/7.
Hope that helps anyone else.

Flash Player 10 does not work in IE or Firefox. What could it conflict with?
I'm using Firefox 3.6.8 (and sometimes IE 8.0.6001.18702IC) on Windows XP Pro, SP 3.
For some weeks now, I have been unable to hear any sounds on anything Flash-based, from YouTube to games at MSN.com or embedded videos on any site using Flash. Initially I had assumed it to be because of having QuickTime installed because I know QT likes to hijack everything. I uninstalled QT (and Real Player) and Flash Player then reinstalled Flash Player (and Shockwave Player just in case) and guess what?
Yup. Nothing. When I uninstalled everything, I used a program called Revo Uninstaller, which includes a registry cleaning option. I then used Abexo and WinASO's registry cleaners to make sure I got everything else that even looked like QuickTime off my hard drive.
When I reinstalled Flash, the following programs appeared in C:\Windows\system 32\Macromed\Flash:
Flash 10i.ocx (10.1.82.76)
FlashUtil10i_ActiveX (10.1.82.76)
FlashUntil10i_Plugin (10.1.82.76)
genuinst (6.0.2800.1531)
FlashUtil10i_ActiveX.dll (10.1.82.76)
NPSWF32.dll (10.1.82.76)
KB931433
FlashInstall
Install
Flashplayer.xpt
When I check IE's "Tools" and look for add-ons, it says that Flash (Shockwave Flash) is enabled. I even enabled the other Adobe add-ons for Acrobat and such just to be sure. Firefox shows Shockwave Flash and Shockwave for Director both to be enabled. The Flash control panel settings don't help: I have all sites set to store about 100 KB on my computer to make sure there's enough room for everything but still nothing.
Before anyone asks, my audio drivers are up to date, thanks to the manufacturer's website. I have DirectX 9.0c installed and everything else works fine. I can play audio and video elsewhere with no problems. It's only Flash that's showing me this trouble and there's no hint as to what else could be interfering with Flash.
Any ideas?Well, great. I tried the uninstall/reinstall before, but not with the uninstaller, so I was hopeful that this time might do it. No such luck. The video still plays, but no sound.
All the sound settings are working with everything else from games to media players. I set Windows' firewall to allow both the ActiveX and plugin for Flash, just in case.
In the Flash folder, I now have:
Flash10l.ocx (10.1.102.64)
Flash Util10l_ActiveX (10.1.102.64)
FlashUtil10l_Plugin (10.1.102.64)
Genuinst (6.0.2800.1531)
FlashUtil10l_ActiveX.dll (10.1.102.64)
NPSWF32.dll (10.1.102.64)
And the setup and text files that went with 'em.
I've also done a system restart since then and zip.
I went through IE and Firefox and looked for any file associations (like .flv) that I could manually change over to using Flash, but no go. The settings panels for Flash have all been set to allow YouTube specifically (as a test) and to allow 10KB of storage space for all affected sites.
Now what? I'm really not looking forward to a reformat and reinstall, but it's looking like that's what it's going to take.

Something is strange with your list of modules; you list FlashUntil10i_Plugin (10.1.102.64), but this is really 10.1.85.3
I recommend that you uninstall Flash Player completely (using http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html), then restart Windows, and delete all remaining files in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash.
Next reinstall both ActiveX (http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe) and the plugin (http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe).
After that, if the problem persists, have a look at this page http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/837/cpsid_83739.html

About in tears from new adobe flash player 10.3 not working
After installing the new Adobe Flash 10.2.153.1 on my Windows7 64 bit computer, it can not be found when using my IE8 (does not show 32 or 64 bit only 256-bit).
I have uninstalled using your reference on "please read: when asking Flash Player questions" and then reinstalled. It is on the programs list as installed but when I go to a site that needs me to use Adobe Flash it says I need it install it. Whn I go to the adobe web site to verify that I have installed Adobe Flash it only has a box with a small red x in the corner.
I have updated my devices drivers. I do not completely understand what a "kill-bit" is; however, I have gone into my registry and there is no registry keys that have {d27....etc}. There are many other numbers and most have a compatibilty flag of 0x00000400. So I must not have a "kill-bit" for Flash Player set. Not sure what that means.
Can you help me? And have I given you enough info?
Thanks for any help you can give me.FYI - have uninstalled adobe flash player since we last replied should I try to install again?
I have checked this too and
*Shockwave Flash Object installed and Enabled. version 11.5.7.
* Yes at medium now (was at med high)
* have mcafee but just installed tonight your recommended microsoft security essentals (did a quick scan tonight)
* C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash - FlashInstall (txt file) and Install (txt file)
* No error messages - was told it was installed successfully
thanks! -
Flash Player Content does not Minimize when Firefox does
When Firefox is Minimized, Flash Player Content does not.
It shows it perfectly with other opened (not minimized) applications in the exact location where it was (the flash content) before. The other application seems to need an RGB colour map of exactly #000000 for it to show.
It cannot be captured in a screenshot using screengrab, nor can it be shown in playback from recordmydesktop. How about the screen saver that kicks in...
It can even be worse when you also get a red/blue color swap.

Unfortunately Adobe no longer maintains Flash on Linux, so Flash 11.2 is the latest and Adobe has no intention to fix any issues in this version apart from security updates. -
The people's posted videos no longer work on my ipad
Note: I am using the Facebook app, I am not using safari
Please don't tell me to use adobe flash player, it is not compatible with ipad, but it used to work nevertheless.Facebook videos are still working for me in the Facebook App (using iOS 7.0.6).
Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).

I keep getting this message when trying to watch TV or films
This content requires Adobe Flash Player, which is not supported by your device
Is there an app that will play this. I can't find one....Flash is not supported on the iPad - and as Adobe have announced that they are stopping development on all mobile versions of it, it probably never will be.
Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter, Puffin and Photon 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites, especially news and media sites, have their own apps in the App Store.
If you do a search on this forum you will find hundreds of other threads on the subject. -

Why iam asking this question adobe donates flex to apachie , adobe stop development on brouser based flash players and adobe stops linux air runtime. what next flash future flash available or not. why adobe doing this kind of things any one reply.
[moved to Flash Player forum]The plug-in is for browsers use only. Not for desktop use.
You are looking for the standalone flashplayer.
For now, you can open .swf files directly with your internet
browser, but that is it. -
Norton says flash player 11 is not safe and will not let me download it. What do you say?
Norton is notorious for false positives. Update your virus definitions, and make sure you only download updates from the adobe.com website.

Can I download the stand-alone Flash Player that does not need a browser? I have ver 11.5 r502 that I d/l last year (11 Feb 2013); would like a newer release.
Can't find much about the standalone viewer, except in the Flash Builder docs, which says a .swf can specify to use it. I can't find a download link.
Thanks, DougYou can download the standalone player (Projector) from https://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
Note that the download is the player, not an installer, so you need to make the .swf file association manually.
