Flash player 10.1 video quality problem

Ever since I installed this version of flash player, the quality of streamed video has been absolutely horrible (Mostly on youtube and hulu). Many of the videos should be in HD quality but are pixelated and fuzzy (especially when there is a lot of movement in the video) and it's appearance is similar to 240p or even worse. Shortly after having this issue, I unistalled the new update and reinstalled the previous version, which was more trouble than I expected, and the videos for the most part were fine. I eventually tried installed the latest update again and the problem is still there. It's the same both in firefox and chrome and it makes videos almost unwatchable.
So what is the problem?

I had this problem but found that I needed to change the security setting in Safari for plug-ins
Safari > Preferences > Security
Internet Plug-ins > "Allow plug-ins"

After Flash Player, the youtube videos stop working after 1st second.

Hi guys,
I have a couple of Dell pc's with win7 professional 64bit.
Some of them on IE10 and other's on IE11.
The thing is after the installation of the latest Flash Player version, the videos on YouTube stop after the 1st second.
If I remove the Flash Player the YouTube works fine.
Anyone have the same problem?

Hi again,
I found the "source" of the issue, the pc's don't have speakers, so after I plug in some headphones the YouTube run without problems.
So there is any way to configure Flash Player to do not search for "playback devices"?

I have been using dolphin browser since long and never before it showed that flash player needs to be updated. Even in safari browser it showed flash player need to be updated. Also, when i try opening anything in google app it says network unavailble even when my internet is working fine. Videos quality problem (N510 - nvidia ion)

I'm running arch on my samsung N510, with its nvidia ion (Geforce 9400M). I've some video quality problems. When images changes go quickly, stripes appear at the top. I made a capture (http://yfrog.com/7acapturewep) that shows the problem, it shows the stripes on the whole image It is not to be considered as my actual problem : during playback I see stripes only at the top of image.
I use the nvidia driver, tried with and without vdpau, and with different video players (mplayer, vlc...), with the same problem.
The videos are xvid, or h.264, HD or not.
Any idea ?

your problem is called tearing and it's a well known issue:

the nvidia drivers provide a seperate video output for media players that should prevent this, try:
xvinfo | grep Blitter
i have no tearing with composite enabled on my 6600GT
note that you do have to use the proper vide driver in mplayer. If you use smplayer, it's under options -> video. The nvidia anti-blitter output driver should be listed.

The Open Browser dont support flash player but it supports the HTML5 video and audio codecs which allows you to explore the web the way you want to.

Reset Password starting from Recovery HD
Start the computer,then press and hold down command and R keys to start into recovery partition.

Firefox does not play videos online except on YouTube. I have the latest updated flash player . What is the problem ?

The videos do not play except on YouTube. It shows an error message that it can't play the video. I have the latest updated Adobe Flash player. And the same videos work well on IE and GC !

Possible bug in flash player 9 with video..somewhat urgent help

Hi,
I was making a site based on heavy use of video. The site was
working just fine, the videos played well, actionscript ok, etc.
Last night I upgraded my flash player, and suddenly the site looks
completely broken.
Videos now have large pixels and they don't play right.
I uninstalled flash player 9, went back to 8, and there they
work ok again.
Originally they had not the best quality to save bandwidth,
but they looked just fine for the scope of the site. If I re-encode
them to a higher quality, they look better in FP9 but we're talking
about almost 60% more size to achieve what had been done correctly
with flash player 8. No one seems to have this problem right now,
but I think it is a major issue, cause not everyone is using 400kb
to encode the videos. It must have something to do with the codec
inside the plugin, they way it handles everything in low
resolution.
I have to say I tried everything: quality =high, embedded
video, flv progressive, 100%quality to JPG when publishing, etc.
The video looks bad ONLY with flash player 9. I am not allowed to
publish the address but I think this might have happened to someone
else too. please please any help appreciated, I'm on due date
(everything was finished!) and now it cannot be uploaded like this.

Anyway, I have a few video's published on the web. They are
encoded at 400kb (medium quality/On2 codec). Check them out:

That video looks the same on Flash Player 8 and 9 on IE and
Firefox.
I have no idea what is wrong with your videos, but there is
no bug in Player 9 as far as I can tell.
You have to publish at least one of your videos and it's url
so that I can see the problem that you are describing.

Flash Player and H264 Videos

Good evening,
Over the last 3 days I have updated the Adobe Flash Player from 10.0.22 to 10.0.32, 4 times. Each update resulted in a System Restore back to the earlier version. I Use Fire Fox and Internet Explorer 7 and have installed the player in both browsers with the same results.
I love to watch movies and tv shows on Justin.tv and HULU. Upon installation of the update, I lost the video, but not the audio, on most channels on Justin. I did not have a problem with HULU. Of course I tried everything, from following all the uninstall and install instructions provided by the Adobe website and changing security and IE settings to seeking assisting from another forum. Finally, on the last upgrade attempt to Fire Fox alone, I was given the answer by Justin.tv.
While attempting to view a movie I received the following message:
The version of flash you have installed may have a bug which prevents it from playing H264 (high quality) video. If you are seeing blank/black video but hearing audio, that is the cause of the problem. Please install Flash 9.
I would greatly appreciate any assistance in this manner.

The latest Flash won't work for or PPC macs, best we can do is version 10.1.102.64
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

Once downloaded if it doesn't unzip automatically the double click on that file.
Look for the fp10.1.102.64_and_9.0.289.0archive folder, open it, look for the Flash Player 10.1.102.64 folder & open and look for 101r10264 folder & open it, double click on the flashplayer101r102_64_ubmac.dmg file, choose the Install Adobe Flash Player file to install... they don't make it easy!
