Flash player 10.1 VMware fails loading pandora, you tube beffering etc.
Hi.
I'm having trouble with the latest versions of flash player.
Most things don't work, they will start to load and then just stop. E.g. pandora will get about halfway through loading the player and just stop. no error meassages or anything. You tube is similar, videos will start to buffer and play but after one or two seconds the video tries to buffer and can't (playback gets very choppy and then stops altogether).

Everything was ok in version 9.x & 10.0, but once going 10.1 (53.1?) this behaviour started occuring.

Hi all,
Since my last post, I have done some testing with old versions of the Flash player. First I completely removed the Flash installed with the Ubuntu package manager Synaptic. I then copied the tested version libflashplayer.so shared library to the Firefox plug in directory at /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins .
Version 10.0r45 is the latest version of the Flash player that works with the NWS enhanced radar animation web application. Any version 10.1 version Flash player that I can find (10.1r53_64 and 10.1r82_76).
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is wrong or how to fix the issue? Is the NWS exploiting the security breach bug in 10.0 that version 10.1 is supposed to have fixed?
Thanks,
William

This was a previous problem in firefox 4 so I had to fall back to 3.6,
that eventually got fixed so I came back to 4, updated with version 5.... and here it is again, same problem.
Any fixes or recommendations would be helpful. It's not an "officially" supported browser for Flash Player.

I have downloaded Photoshop Elements and all went well. When I went to open, it opens but the content is unreadable. I have a Mac and my flash player is up to date. Can you please tell me what I am missing?
Thanks,
NikkiI did try to uninstall and reinstall. It messed up my computer. I had to "RESTORE" from the prior days backup. This was not helpful at all. I'm used to losing all my stuff when I connect to iTunes, that's a whole other issue, but now I'm completely banned from any updates to my phone at all. Geeze.......

I am unable to access information from the internet as I am unable to install the lastest adobe flash player that is now required. Can you please help?
I fould a hack that makes the sites think you have the latest (Intel) version of Flash installed. So I installed it & it works with Firefox, TenFourFox & Safari. Here's the info.
Download this http://www.steelbin.com/FPforFBPPC.zip to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

How does one update Flash? I currently cannot watch videos on You Tube, it says I need to upgrade, I have no problem doing this on a PC.
If you're not using chrome you can just go to adobe's website (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/) and download the newest flash player. You run the .dmg and then open the application, which updates flash. With the latest version of flash there should be a preference pane within system preferences to allow you to change settings and check for updates.

I have followed the instructions to update Flash Player, the Installation Fails at about 90%, it says that there is an Application running (Safari) and it says to close all the apps. and start again ... but I already close all the Applications ... none is running ... can someone help me with this issue ??? Thanks ...
Dear Dominic
Brilliant reply. Simple English. Simple to follow instructions. And it worked immediately, first time.
Why couldn't the Apple and Adobe corporations get their programming right first time? We spend billions of UK pounds and US dollars with them. They reply with incompetent programming such as this, and arrogance to their customers in issuing faulty systems without doing the most rudimentary checks.
Anyway, I certainly shan't be buying another Apple as this is the most unreliable, most incomprehensible, most illogical and downright thoughtless shoddy piece of computer kit which I have ever owned. And all of it is rubbish ~ emails disappear, photos can't be organised properly, spreadsheets don't work, Pages is laborious… the list goes on and on...
But thanks to you Dominic, I have been able to load Adoble Flashj… maybe eyou should get a job at Apple, and set them all on the right course to how to work simply and correctly with customers.
Thanks again,
David -
Flash player causing blue screen upon loading video
Hello,
I have recently bought a new system. Everything runs perfectly except for one critical problem; I can't view flash videos or anything played in a web browser by flash player.
Animated flash advertisements will load to the first couple of frames, I will hear a bit of noise and then a brief 1-2 second system hang and straight in to a bluescreen. Same goes for youtube etc, might see a frame, if that, a brief noise and hang/bluescreen. This has occurred since I have purchased the PC.
I have attempted to fix the problem by updating my graphics drivers to the latest, updating flash player to the latest, updating sound drivers to the latest.
System:
AMD i5 750
ATI Radeon 5870
Realtek audio
Windows 7 Professional 32-bit
Mozilla Firefox 3.6.6 -------------> Flash player 10.1
I am just viewing the bluescreen dump file, there is no bug check string, however it seems to indicate an AMD/graphics driver causing the conflict.

I don't know if it is Flash player particularly causing the problem, or if there is a conflict between it and some hardware.
So, can anyone help?i'm having the same problem as the OP,
System:
Intel Q6600
ATI Radeon 4850 (drivers v10.9)
Realtek audio
Windows vista home premium 32-bit (auto-updates)
Chrome 6 & ie8 Flash player 10.1
my BSOD returned the error code: 0x00000116 (0x8505F150, 0x8F1E98B0, 0x00000000, 0x00000002)

it started before last summer, it doesn't happen often but lets just say its making me rather nervous to use youtube and other sites that use flash now.
i've read allot of people have this problem and have traced it to using flash. i hope somebody at adobe is listening and not trying to blame hardware makers or drivers about this problem.
i disabled hardware acceleration, i hope this does the trick until a real fix can be found
btw if any flash animation gives a BSOD how else could we turn it off ? Think about it for a second people -
Flash Player appears to not be loaded
When attempting to install Learning QuickBooks on Vista
Ultimate I get the QuickBooks has stopped working message with the
usual go find help popup. The popup says "This program requires a
missing Windows component." The complaining code is called AutoPlay
Menu Studio 4.0 Runtime from Indigo Rose Corporation. I assume they
have prepared the QuickBooks courseware for Intuit. When I select
Check for solutions online I go to the Microsoft site which says I
need to load the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. I've tried
this at least 5 times. Flash Player loads correctly but when I try
to install the course I get the same failure. Apparently this
program cannot find flash.ocx. I saw a tip that suggested some
changes to the flash.ocx in Windows\System32\Macromedia but I don't
have a Macromedia director on my C drive. Suggestions???I'm not sure whether this will work and be interested to know
whether it works for you.
Try right mouse clicking on the application's icon and from
the menu choose "Run as administrator". Vista will ask you whether
this is okay, just allow this.
This worked for me with Flash apps in IE and I have Vista as
well.
FYI, I think you'll find the .ocx file in...
C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
Hope that this helps... -
Flash Player 9 pausing on intial load of external FLV
After upgrading my Flash player to version 9, I get a very
noticeable pause when loading an External FLV into a custom FLV
player that doesn't happen on versions 7 and 8. There is a
buffering/loading animation movie clip that also locks upafter the
initial call to the NetStream.play method. The longer the video,
the longer the pause. The video eventually plays but this initial
behavior is definitely undesired.
I also noticed that the browser (IE 6.0.2900) itself locks up
(reports as Not Responding) if you try to resize, move or click on
the address bar while the unexpected pause is taking place.Hi Stylianos!
Navigate to
HD > Library > Internet Plug-Ins: In here do you see a file named Flash Player.plugin?
If so, click on it once to highlight it.
Depress the Command + I keys, to get info.
What version does it say it is?

Because of all of the problems that I have been experiencing with the Flash Player 11.3, I uninstalled it and downgraded to 11.1, which seems to be a more stable version. I used the uninstaller as recommended by Firefox and then grabbed the 11.1 version off of the Adobe website.
All went well until I started getting the 11.3 installer loading itself about every 3 minutes. You can almost time it to the minute. It really sucks.
I have gone in and tried turning off automatic updates in the global settings and the one that you can do online in the settings manager at: http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager05.htm l
Despite my best efforts, it keeps coming up and loading the 9mb install and then goes to the 11.3 screen where you accept the terms and conditions.
This comes up...
Then it goes to this:
I would like this to stop. Thus far, the only way to stop it is to upgrade to that version. I have tried uninstalling everything and it still comes back.
I tried deleting the temp files it creates on my hard drive. I found 622 instances of the files it keeps loading.
I am REALLY tired of this and would like to have it stop.
Any suggestions??????????????Here is part of the log. I deleted a bunch of the duplicate entries as they were basically the exact same with the only thing changing being the time stamps. In answer to both Chris's question, here is the log. In answer to Pat, the files that are running or that are attempting to run are the ones mentioned in this log, the installer (FP_AX_CAB_INSTALLER.exe) and InstallFlashPlayer.exe. Those are the only two running that I can see. I have been keeping a close eye on that, thinking that maybe something else is initiating it. Nothing that I see anyhow.
I am almost to the point of uninstalling Firefox and starting over. I'd hate to do it because of the pain that goes with starting it over again and getting the extensions and add-ons again... However, the flip side to that is dealing with this whole thing.
I have to say, the current version of Flash REALLY REALLY wants me to install it.
If you need the whole log, I put it up at: Install Log
Let me know your thoughts. I am usually pretty good at solving things like this. This one has me puzzled.
Thanks
OCTechGuy

Adobe flash player starts download, then fails. help?!
hi
I originally had adobe flash player, but i accidentally uninstalled it and now i'm having major trouble getting it back!
i would like to install the adobe flash player. so i visited the adobe homepage and chose the right version. after downloading, i opned the installation program. i closed all required program. but suddenly after it was starting with the download it said: installation failed (see below).
i'm sure that i chose the right version mac os x 10.4 to 10.5, then i have mac book 10.5.8 intel. (btw i also tried the newer version). i've also tried the download with safari and firefox.
thank you very much for your answers! i really need themGo to /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Move the Flash Player.plugin to the Trash.
Now reinstall the plugin > http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
Adobe suggests temporarily disabling anti virus software if you have that installed before downloading the plugin. -
Flash Player 11 ActiveX install fails -- Error 1722
Hi,
I am unable to install Flash Player 11.5.502.149 on Windows 8. The error reported is:
Adobe Flash Player 11 ActiveX -- Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action NewCustomAction1, location: C:\Users\Nick\AppData\Local\Temp\InstallAX_11_5_502_146.exe, command: -install -msi
We have tried running uninstall_flash_player.exe to try and clean things up but this still fails. Is there a known problem with installing Flash player ActiveX on Windows 8? Flash player Plugin works fine just the ActiveX version which does not.
Thanks,
NickAdobe http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html states
“Note: Release builds of Flash Player for Windows 8 are a part of the Windows 8 update”
So we cannot push flash directly, rather it is included in WSUS.
This is nice, but we have an application that crashes in IE 11 unless we use the Flash install from the Adobe site.
We have contacted the application vendor, but systems are down now. -
My flash player quit and keeps failing to install... need help please!
Hi. I am not able to install my flash player. I went thru the troubleshooting tips on adobe.com/go/tn/19166, but still keep getting the message *Failed to install* . I don't know what to do now. I called phone support and they sent me here! Can anyone guide me?? Thanks!!
First let's try to see if Flash Player is correctly installed.
When you go to this site http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ - can you see the Flash animation? What version of Flash Player does it show?
Also, what version of Internet Explorer are you using?
