Flash Player 10.2.153.1 upgrade not working on 64bit Intel-Mac in Safari 5.0.4

I feel robbed! I want to use my Safari.
The latest upgrade of Flash player does not work.
I don't even remember downloading it, it must've been an automatic update!
I can not play youtube videos nor can I play any games on Facebook.
Who knows what is not working in my Avid!! I have not been working on that lately.
The flash player still works on FireFox, but i have no intention on switching to that.
The first aid has been run a few times.
It will download the free flash player for Intel Mac and it says the install is successful, but it is not there.
I have CS4 and it never bothered or disrupted the free flash player before.
I uninstalled it just in case and nearly lost it! When I tried to reinstall Flash, it said my disc to was blank!
Luckily, a friend in the business of fixing computers was able to get that back! whew.
The flash player from the CS4 is showing up in a folder and will even open when clicked on, but it does nothing. It is version 10.0 r2.
When I go to the place where they say to "see what version of flash you have"
I just get that icon that says to "Get Adobe Flash player".
It down not show the suggested "missing plug-in" pictures.
Yes, I read there is compatibility issues with the 64 bit Mac, but it always worked before!!!
Help!! Please!!

So the Shockwave Flash plugin in FF is Installed and Enabled. That's why Flash Player is working and why you were able to see the Flash Player logo animation. On the other hand, evidently the Shockwave Flash plugin is either not Installed in Safari or if it is it is Disabled. And that is why it's not working and you can't see the Flash Player logo.
Yes, I know Flash Player can be Installed in any supported 64bit OS. Also I thot that the 64bit browser in Mac was the "default" browser and the "Compatibility layer" had to be used. Similiar to the PC IE8 or IE9, switching over to the Compatibility feature in the browser.
Do you need to activate the Compatibility feature?  I have had other Mac users tell me that their problem was they were using the 64bit browser and found out they had to use the 32bit browser, so I thot it was something they had to do. I would think if it was automatic they would not have had to "do" anything. But like I said I don't use Mac so can only relate what they tell me.
With Safari on either of the test sites, no Flash Player version was displayed?
Look into the HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins/ directory and see if you have the below two files:
Flash Player.plugin, flashplayer.xpt
After that see if this thread is of any help: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2725949#2725949

  • Flash Player 11.3.300.262 Not working with Firefox. I think I found the problem.

*Flash Player 11.3.300.262 is not working with Firefox. I think I found the problem.*
Millions of people got off work & turned on there computers recently to discover that Firefox is not playing any videos or flash content. Just like me, millions of people are randomly searching the internet in a futile & frustrating attempt at answers. Unfortunately, many of those people will simply stop using firefox & deem it a glitchy, unreliable browser.
This happened to me a couple days ago. I started up my computer & got a pop-up from Adobe saying that I need to update my flash player to 11.3.300.262. I've always thought of adobe as being a reliable software company, so I clicked on it with confidence that things will be working even smoother. To my horror, I relalized that right after the update, my main browser, firefox was destroyed. Then I went on the frustrating process of uninstalling, re-installing, running virus scan, researching the internet like a lost child. I said to myself, "that's why I hate updating stuff, because updates always seem to change stuff you don't want it to change & there always seems to be a problem with the updates." I usualy update software months after it releases, because microsoft & all the other software companies always seem not to test there stuff properly before releasing them. Then we have to look at a glitchy computer until the next update fixes it. Well, that is my rant. Now let me discuss the problem I found.
    Problem:
What I did was, go into my firefox extentions menu & I disabled the 11.3.300.262 & I re-enabled the previous flash player. After that, everything worked perfect again. Then a today (a week later), I turned on my computer & my firefox wasn't playing any videos or flash content again. I went into my firefox extenions menu again, & I discovered that my old flash player had been deleted, & this new glitchy 11.3.300.262 had been enabled. Why did adobe feel the need to into my computer & automaticly delete & update my flash player. Now it doesn't work. THIS IS REALY FRUSTRATING!
    The Issue I discovered:
"RealPlayer" is the most popular video program & it is installed on millions of computers. For some strange reason Firefox does not want its users to use Real Player. Specifically the RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin 15.0.2. I also discovered that my Browser Record Plugin 15.0.2 was automatically disabled when the Adobe 11.3.300.262 was automatically updated also.
    - Maybe this could be because of some copyright conspiracy to keep people from downloading videos from the web.
    - Maybe firefox wants people to use there download add-on instead of RealPlayers downloader.
I don't know what ther reason is. But what I do know is Nobody is going to delete there RealPlayer from there computer just to use FireFox. We can simply use Chrome or Internet explorer. I took the advise from Adobe & disabled the FireFox RealPlayer Extention. I also went into my RealPlayer preferences options, But there was no option to disable download recording from FireFox. BECAUSE I ALREADY DISABLED THE ADD-ON in FireFoxes menu.
    Solution:
Step 1: Adobe needs to update all the computers with the previous flash player. That way we can choose to enable the previous flash player in our FireFox. or wait until a new update fixes the problem with firefox.
Step 2: Adobe & FireFox need to get together & go back to the drawing board. They need to create a update that actually works on computers that have Real Player installed on them. I don't care which company does the update. All I care about is if it works. Thank You.
Oh yea, Im running FireFox 13.0.1, Windows 7, HP computer, Real Player is up to date.

    Hey Chris,
I was able to duplicate this issue on my Windows 7 laptop as follows:
         1)  Completely uninstall FlashPlayer (using your tool) as well as Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Maintenance Service (used Windows 7 - uninstall from Control Panel).  Please note that I checked the box that said "Remove my Firefox personal data and customizations" to ensure that Firefox was completely gone from my laptop.
         2)  I then went out to the Firefox website and downloaded the "Firefox Setup 13.0.1.exe" app to my laptop.  I ran this app to install Firefox.
         3)  I then went to the following website http://www.ishmael.org.uk/karaoke02.php as I know that this URL uses Flash Player (obviously you can go to any URL that uses Flash Player - I'm just letting you know which one I used).  I then clicked on the icon on this page to install Flash Player.
Once the install was completed, the URL stops responding and appears to be locked up (although it will occassionally hiccup and display portions of the page and then lock up again).  You will eventually get a pop-up notice from Firefox that has the header "Warning:  Unresponsive script" and says the following:
A script on this page may be busy or it may have stopped responding.  You can stop the script now, or you can continue to to see of the script will complete.  Script:  chrome://browser/content/browser.js:6551
Selecting "Stop script" will get Firefox working until you hit another page that uses Flash Player.
To ensure that the above URL is not the culprit, I used one from your website http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html and had the same results.
    Hope this info helps!
    Jeff
NOTE:  As a reminder, I do not have RealPlayer installed on my laptop (and never have had it installed)

  • Flash Player  10.1.53.64 not working on all PC

    Hi
First sorry for my bad English
We are a company with 150 PC's. The 10.0 Version from Flash was running without any Problem. Now we make a Rollout with Windows 7 Enterprise and the new 10.1.
We install den MSI Active X Package. In the Program List and in the Event log all is fine. Without any error. Last few days i tried to install many different things. Now i have only installed Windows 7 without any Patch. Without any Virus scanner, when i install one time the newest Flash player over the Internet. It works. After manual Installation I can remove and reinstall back! It works! I tried to change the Registry Permission with your script but nothing change. I tried to install the exe File. I can always install successful but the Flash Test site will not running!
Please help. As last chance i tried to install an older Version. But the setup stay with notification to the newer version. I take your older Version that's you say it will not check the Version. By me the setup checks and stay with the notification!
    Kind regards
    René

    Hi
Thanks for your assistance. The newest Flash Version not running on all older Vista and the new Windows 7 Clients. With the 10.0 Version from FP all works fine.
And we have the newest Version installed. When i install the FP 10.1.53.64 manual over the Website from Adobe, after this manual installation i can remove and reinstall the newest Version without any Problem and it works. So i can't believe, that's it a Display Driver Problem, but of course the newest Display Driver is installed.
Do you have any odder idea?

  • Download Flash Player 10.2.153.1 (not 10.3) for Windows 7, 64 bit

I would like to download Flash Player 10.2.153.1 for Windows 7 (64 bit). I have downloaded the zipped file in the archives section. However I do not know the file that I am supposed to click on to open the executable program file for Windows 7, 64 bit operating system. The downloaded file, for example, contains application files which are: _win, _win_sa, _winax. Do any of these apply? What about the updates so far (excluding 10.3) for this version?
I do not wish to download 10.3 until many of the issues have been resolved.
    Many thanks.

Hi, just a bit of info. If you've already downloaded the Archived FP zip file for 10.2.153.1, then the extracted file you need for IE is 10_2r153_1_winax.exe. That is the Installer. You can check the readme.txt file, then open the folder  that contains the FP platforms and you'll see it there.
Also if you've had a Flash Player version newer than that Installed,  you'll need to refer to this:
    Installing an Older Version:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/402/kb402435.html
Follow the normal procedure of rebooting after Uninstalling your current version before Installing the 10.2.153.1. Then a reboot after Installing.
    Thanks,
    eidnolb
P.S. There would be no updates for this vs. as Flash Player "updates" by releasing a new version.

  • Flash player 11.0.1.152 not working on all sites. Using Mac OS 10.5.8

What am I missing?  Flash didn't work properly on previous version either.  I use google chrome primarily but flash does not work on all sites using Firefox or Safari either.  I have a Macbook Pro operating on 10.5.8.  I'm sure it's probably a simple fix but I just haven't found it.  Appreciate any help on the matter.

I have spent countless hours trying to get my flash player working and have tried EVERY kind of possible answer through many forums and websites to solve this. Does adobe have anything currently that will solve this flash player problem?? I have the lastest version of Safari 5.1.1. and I have the lastest version of adobe flash player 11.0.1.152, I have even tried the debugging installs adobe put out for flash player. I have tried the "working around lion flash player video thing" where you try private browsing. I have tried going into system preferences and entering into the flash player settings in the storage tab the allow this sites, etc. NOTHING HAS WORKED!! I still get my local storage pop up message whenever I try and watch a you tube or any site that has flash video on it, that flash player settings box still pops up and is stuck on my screen and I cant click allow or deny or get it off. So many people I have read have the same problem and I only the same answers pop up that I have tried again and again, does anyone have a real resolve to this yet??? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP.

    but
while using OPERA 11its not working? pls feel free to reply me:

    1.i disable antivirus
2.select my operating system and bowers
3.close my all browers which are running
after  this also its not work in opera 11

Hi, With Flash Player, there is an ActiveX Control in IE which is Shockwave Flash Object which if IE is working for you then you have it.
In all non-IE browsers there is a Shockwave Flash (SWF) and it is Installed as a plugin and must be Enabled.
You can check there for it.
    Hope that helps,

  • Earlier installed flash player for x64 yet still not working

    Hello:
Over the past 6months flash player installed and it's a working program, then a update comes
along install that then you know it program  stops working.  I just uninstalled latest version  as it was not working
I went back to dl.flash player square "beta preview, for windows X64.  Not working.
Where, what is a user to do? I like learning from H.P. Learning which uses flash player so I really
need to get Adobe Flash Player working a.s.a.p.
    thanks nedt

Hi, The Square is a beta version and still in testing. You need to Uninstall it if you want the latest released version.
Even tho you have a 64bit OS, you need to use the 32bit browser with any Flash Player version other than Square.
Download and SAVE to your Desktop the Uninstaller:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
Download and SAVE to your Desktop the Installer(s)
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html   Use the EXE Installer for Win/IE and Win/plugin
    Use the Administrator Account
Close all browser windows, disable any instant messengers in the system tray
    Disable any realtime anti-virus
Run the Uninstaller and then reboot
    Run the Installer(s) and reboot.
    Reenable any that was disabled.
    Test here with browser(s)

  • Flash Player 16.0.0.296 Not working

I use a Windows 8.1 Lenovo laptop. Yesterday I tried watching a flash player video which worked fine except there was no sound. I also tried youtube just to check if the problem is in my laptop but it was working fine with sound. So i updated my flash player to 16.0.0.296. Still there was no sound. I tried installing it again but still no luck. So I checked my mixer as you may know there is a adobe flash player icon in it but it wasnt there. Also if the video is playing, the sound mixer of mozilla firefox was working but i was getting no sound. When i uninstalled adobe flash player the sound came back. But i need it to watch some videos. Also the adobe flash player 16.0.0.296 is working fine in my other laptop which is 8.1 too. Can someone Help please. Thanks.

Each Flash Player update includes important security updates necessary to protect you from malware on the web.  You should always run the latest Flash Player.  Reverting is a terrible idea.
Are you also experiencing this issue in either Internet Explorer or Google Chrome?  They all have significantly different versions of Flash Player.

  • Adobe Flash Player 11.4.402.265 not working

Adobe was working fine until I applied the latest update. Now, it is not being recognized at all. I am running Windows XP Service Pack 3. I have tested it on multiple sites. The browsers I have tried are Chrome, IE, and Firefox. Whenever I try to load a page requiring Flash, it tells me it is missing or needs to be upgraded. I have seen other posts having the same issue, but no solutions. I definitly have Adobe Flash Player 11.4.402.265 installed. I have done all the basics. Cookies and cache have been cleared. Laptop has been rebooted. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Flash. Any ideas?

Uninstalled and reinstalled things a second time, and we seem to be up and running now. I guess it was just waiting for me to ask before it decided to work.

The Adobe Reader and the Flash player are not connected in

  • Flash Player 13.0.0.206 not working with IE 11 (32 bit) using Windows 7 64 bit OS but does work in Chrome

When I go to some websites (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=335893426565493) for one, I get a white screen where the flash video should be displayed. I can hear the audio just fine. Right-clicking on the white area brings up the settings menu and the video can be seen dimly in the background. The video drivers are up-to-date. I have uninstalled the flash player, emptied all of the suggested folders and re-installed Flash with exactly the same results. I have disabled hardware acceleration with no change as well. I have also tried compatibility mode to no avail.
Going to the Flash websites, I can see all of their animations and the boxes that show the currently installed version all show correctly.
    Any suggestions?

Chrome uses a separate and independent plug-in than IE does.
IE is ActiveX - Chrome ISN'T.
Chrome is PPAPI - IE is NPAPI.
    The ActiveX plug-in is in C/Windows/System32/Macromed/Flash and C/Windows/SysWOW64/Macromed/Flash - PepperFlash is in C/Program Files (x86)/Google/Chrome/Application/[version number]/PepperFlash.
The trouble with IE in general is that you need to disable ActiveX filtering for most everything, which leave the browser vulnerable to attacks. ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer
The trouble with IE11 is "User Agent Strings".
Microsoft "rewrote" the User-Agent Strings for the abomination they call their latest and greatest browser (Read more here).
User-Agent Strings are what websites use to identify the browser you're using and provide the proper content for it's browser engine, like ActiveX stuff, and Flash or HTML5 video.
Thanks to the geniuses in Redmond, WA, the User-Agent Strings for IE11 (which has a Trident engine), ID it as either "Gecko" (Firefox) or "Webkit" (Chrome).
Trouble is: when the site the directs to the content for one of these two engines, the Trident engine in IE can't interpret it and the site then sees IE as an "unidentified" browser.
The problem with an unidentified browser is that the plug-ins in that browser aren't recognized either, so even though you're up to date, it says you need the latest Flash Player when you use IE11.
YouTube... has converted to HTML5 video so if it doesn't detect Flash Player, it can display HTML5 (MP4) video which requires no plug-in to play.
Facebook can't do that, because HTML5 doesn't apply to games... only video.
Microsoft has no plans to "fix" the mess they've created because they think it's a great idea to block you out of the websites you visit.
They recommend using "Compatibility View" and pretending that you're using an older version of IE...
The Problem with THAT is that it's seen limited success, and you have to enable it for EVERY page that has problems... individually.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that, because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

  • Flash Player 13.0.0.206 not working with Firefox 28 or IE, using Windows 7 64 bit

Hi, I've been having problems with Flash Player all week, and I've tried everything I've found so far, including completely uninstalling and reinstalling Flash multiple times, reverting to previous versions of flash (Flash 11.7 or something similar) uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, checking for viruses and malware, updating my video drivers, disabling hardware acceleration, but for the life of me I cannot figure out what is wrong.  Videos will only load momentarily before hanging and I eventually keep getting an "Unresponsive Plugin" error for Shockwave Flash on Firefox 28 despite having double checked for the most recent available version of the plugin.  Internet Explorer also gives an "undefined" error when I try to access videos or Flash content as well, leading me to believe it's not just Firefox but a larger issue.
I am currently using Windows 7 64bit with Firefox 28.0, but the issue happens in the most revent version of Internet Explorer as well.  Can anyone offer some help?
EDIT: I have updated to Firefox 29, however the issue still persists

Seeing similar behaviour, there was a suggestion to upgrade the video and audio drivers, but I'm at the latest version.
Your description is almost identical to my situation.

  • Flash Player 10.1 installed, but not working in any browser, or showing up on C:

I recently updated my flash player, however since then, websites requiring flash do not seem to fully load. However, it should also be noted that there is no notification indicating I need to install the software. Sites such as youtube will load, but fail to display the video I want to view, and showing only a black box. Also, sites I need for my HSC preparation are not working, such as the Board of Studies Online Multiple Choice, and Maths Online. The web page will load, indicating "done" in the bottom left corner of the screen, but the screen will be white.
    I have tried the following:
    un-installing, and re-installing (numerous times)
Restarting the system after both un-installing and re-installing
Checking all mentioned websites on three browsers --> Firefox 3.5.11, IE 8, Google Chrome. All presented the same outcome: blank pages etc.
Ensuring that flash was enabled in all above browsers
My operating system is 32 bit; Vista (Have checked this file--  C:/Windows/System32/Adobe -- and found that the flash player files are absent despite being 'told' it has successfully installed. After which the 'movie'/'f' symbol does not show up in the installation check online)
I assume all the above browsers are 32bit as well, however I'm not sure how to check this.
Please help... I have been searching forums for hours and trying various methods to attempt to fix the problem myself, but have been unsuccessful. It has become increasingly frustrating with the approaching HSC only a couple of weeks away !

There is no flashinstall.log file in that folder. There is a FlashInstall file that opens in Notepad when I click on it.  The contents of that file are below.  Does this give you any clue as to what is wrong?  It is WAY beyond my techincal competence.

I had tried from 9 to the newest one all over again and nothing....it just doesn't work. Not matter what I do. Trying to verify and repair disk permissions etc... and nothing.
    I use Firefox 3.6 and Safari 5
