Flash Player 10 closes connection to FMS

Hi,
I have a flash client, which connects to FMS to play/record
audio and video, but sometimes it closes the connection. The
problem is that I can't detect any error, in the client, neither in
the FMS logs.
I noticed that this just happens with Flash Player 10, with
Flash 9 it doesn't happen.
What can cause this to happen, to make the Player disconnect?
Does Bandwidth as something to do with this issue?
thanks
Fábio

I think you're right, it's more a network issue. It doesn't
happen always at the same time.
Sometimes I can reproduce it.
But the problem is that the connection closes normally, so I
can't distinguish when the users close the connection because they
want, and a close due network issues.

Has anyone experienced any integration issues between the
just-released Flash Player 10 and Connect Pro 6?
I ask this on the back of a 9.x update completely scuppering
our Connect 6 screen-sharing functionality, requiring a rollback to

HI all, I take it you are running a licenced version of the
server rather than hosted, in which case you need to install the
patch on your server to recognise version 10 of Flash player

  • How does Flash Player projector/standalone connect to the Internet

I know that when a web service call is made from a flash player in the browser that the underlying browser is used to handle the traffic.  I also know that this isn't the case with flash projector because the security docs say that the projector files can't take advantage of SSL because they aren't run in the context of the browser.  So what mechanism does a standalone or projector application use to connect to the Internet?  I'm trying to analyze a possible application for someone from a security point of view, but I'm not sure what mechanism is in place.
Thanks to anyone who knows or even knows of some decent references.  I can't find much on projectors....

As far as I know, the standalone player does not connect to the Internet - it just plays local Flash content.
Or can you actually give it an Internet (http) location to play?  (I do not currently have Projector installed, so I cannot try it.)

    Hi katharinelflynn,
To accurately identify the issue, and help us improve the online installer experience, we would really appreciate it if you could do the following for us:
Perform a speed test on your internet connection.  There are a myriad of sites that do this, for example, www.speedtest.net, www.speakeasy.net/speedtest, www.dslreports.com/speedtest, and your internet provider may also have a page in their support/help section to do a speedtest.
    Goto Location --> ~/Librarly/Logs/Adobe_ADMLogs
Upload the two log files (Adobe_ADM.log and Adobe_GDE.log) using the instructions posted here https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1408375
Reply back to this thread with the results of the download speed test and the URL to the uploaded log files.
In the mean time, the offline installer is posted at Installation problems | Flash Player | Mac page in the 'Still having problems' section should work for you.
    Thank you in advance.

  • Flash Player Installer Closes Instantly

I'm on Windows XP (service pack 3) and was updating Flash player when my computer suddenly shut off because I'd accidentally stepped the power cable, causing it to be unplugged. I turned my computer back on and attempted the install again, but now every time I try to install Flash, Adobe Installation Helper "encounters a problem and needs to close." This happens immediately after I double-click the installation file. I've tried downloading another copy of the installer and restarting my computer normally.
Should I uninstall Flash and reinstall? I'm worried that the installer might not work, and I'll be left without any version of Flash instead of a now-outdated one.

Since the machine shut down unexpectedly, I would check for and repair any errors on the disk before installing or removing stuff.  This may save you some headaches.
How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
After that, a clean install is probably the way to go.  I would just run the uninstaller.  If the install fails, then do it again with the optional steps of manually deleting the stuff that's listed.

  • Flash player security annoyance - connecting to URL from local file

I am trying to test some links for a button I have in my flash file. Everytime I try to do this, it brings up this ridiculous security screen window, saying that Flash has stopped a potentially unsafe operation. I then goto the settings pain. 'Always Allow' is clicked already. I then shut down browser and flash player and restart. Still prompts this window when I try again. I need to test the link before sending out this banner to advertiser and I shouldn't have to upload this to a web server everytime I want to test it.
    How do I fix this?

Hi, On the PC, if the Operating System is Vista or Win7, then there is a feature called UAC(User Account Control) This is to protect the IE7/IE8 browser/OS, a Security Feature if you will. In Vista the Setting can only be OFF or ON. When it is ON, then Internet Explorer issues a Security Warning, which is a pain and most users just turned it OFF.
So Microsoft made a change in Win7 and now this UAC has various Settings which the user can change depending on his browsing the Internet, etc. It is all Security related.
If it is IE putting up the warning, then it's problably the UAC. If it is coming from another source, then I'd have to say some Security Setting involving another program/feature.

  • Flash player cannot connect to debugger

    Hi,
for a few months the flex debugger has worked fine, now the
other day, suddenly, the flash player can't connect anymore to the
    debugger.
I downloaded the latest version of the debugger again,
installed it, rebooted, but still the same problem.
I've not made any changes to the -debug.html reference.
    Anyone an idea ?
    grtz,
    B

    UPDATE #2:
    I figured out MY problem...
I edited the html-template file index.template.html and the
debugger needs the default code to work correctly.
I changed it to use ufo.js to insert the flash content
instead of the default AC_OETags.js file, which I guess is required
    to make the debugger work.
I'm not sure about the exact differences in these two
approaches, but I'm sure it's nothing that couldn't be fixed with a
little effort and some javascript knowledge.
The one thing that is kinda bad, is that if Flex Builder
can't connect to the flex app, it just sits there and does nothing
    - and you can't build the app again until it times out, or you
close FB, whichever comes first. I think that either the timeout
should be shorter, or you should be able to cancel it
    somehow.

  • How do I close Firefox temporarily to update adobe flash player?

I have been informed that the" adobe flash player" has been giving people problems with their computers. Therefore it was strongly suggested to me to update the player on the website: get.adobe.com\flashplayer
When I went up to that website, and went to install the adobe update - it asks me to close the Mozilla Firefox program. I do not want to lose my Mozilla Firefox, so could you please let me know how I can close it and then install the adobe update, and then reopen Firefox.
Thank you in advance for your information, as I am not hugely computer literate.

First go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer download flash player, then close FIrefox normal mode (clicking on '''Close Button''' on the top right of the window or click on '''Orange Firefox Button''' and '''Exit''') now go to your download folder and execute the Falsh Player installator and customize as you want the installation, then open FIrefox

  • Rtmfp connection between content running on flash player and air for mobile

HI, I've been developing an app for some time that makes use of a secondary application as a remote controller.
Until AIR3.5 this worked smoothly through RTMFP: the original app (the "player") started listening at both local network ("rtmfp:") and with the aid of the Cirrus service ("rtmfp://p2p.rtmfp.net/mycirruskey"). The controller app (the "remote") first try to establish a connection on the local network and, if it does not succeed, try to locate the player using Cirrus (usually when it was run from a device connected on a 3G network).
This approach was surprisingly effective (I guess rtmfp and the cirrus service are indeed very nice), but now I'm updating my apps using AIR3.7 and the problems began - and I didn't change a single line from the original code... First, I am unable to connect the mobile app to the flash player using local rtmfp, the netgroup just doesn't get any neighbor. Second, even with the aid of Cirrus, I can only establish the connection if the player and the remote are connected on different networks (like one on my wifi connection and the other on 3G). If I put both, the computer running the player and the mobile running the remote on the same wifi, the connection is never completed.
To make the problem even stranger, if I save the player as an AIR application, for mobile or desktop, the cirrus connection does work perfeclty, so it seems that the problem is related to connections to the flash player itself.
Is this an expected baheviour of AIR3.7 for some sort of security issue (limiting flash player/air apps connection)? If not, is there a way to solve it?
    Thank you!

    Added one yesterday:
    https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3560258
Interestingly air 3.7 on IOS to Desktop air 3.7 will work.
I am investigating if I can use 3.7 on Android to connect to 3.7 on iOS - so far I cannot get the apk to install on my Galaxy S3, compile using 3.4 and all is good. Air runtime has been updated via Play store - and build uses compiled runtime.
I cannot get Flash player 11.4 to connect with air 3.7 on iOS either.
    NetGroup.Neighbour.Connect never fires.
All SDKS above 3.4 upto 3.8 beta exhibit the same problem.
3.4 works perfectly and can connect to flash player, and other Air/iOS devices just fine.
Shuld not be a issue with firewalls etc, thay are all open.
I can email you the fla, it is for a product so I can't post it here.
    Thanks,
    Steve.

  • When does a flash player attempt rtmpe

I am new to flash and was trying to understand how the flash player behaves when playing a video. My understanding is it attempts rtmp (port 1935), rtmpt (port 80) and rtmpts (port 443). While watching a video on ted dot com, I can see the client attempting a rtmpe connection also. The C0 packet version is 0x6. What I am also seeing is that this does not happen all the time. Flash player picks up rtmp most of the times but at times it also attempts rtmpe. Is this intelligence in the player or in the swf downloaded from ted dot com. If you can point me to any online document it would be very helpful.
    Thanks,
    Sudarshan

It looks like the flash player attempts to connect to rtmp on port 1935, rtmp on port 80, rtmpt on port 80, rtmpts on port 443 and rtmpe on port 1935. After this it looks like it picks the connection on which it receives a connect success and closes the rest. Is my understanding correct?

  • Update problems with Adobe Flash Player preinstalled via Chrome. Can any one help?

Dears, I am using the Chrome and it says it has installed the Adobe Flash Player and the auto updater. I selected to be advised every time an update is available, before it gets installed. During the start up of my Windows system (i.e. the "autoexec" run) the Flash Player auto updater  sometimes indicates there is an Adobe Flash Player update to be installed. Most of the time it is indicated BEFORE the autoexec finishes its sequence and thus still do not have an internet connection perfectly set up. At this point in time the adobe flash player auto updater window indicates there is an error and asks me to retry. Normally I wait a few seconds so the Autoexec run is finished and retry again. Most of the time the adobe flash player auto updater window indicates a second error message, claiming there is still an error. I have already attempted to connect the internet again and normally I am successful, indicating there is NOT a problem with the internet connection. At this point I give up trying to update the Adobe Flash Player and close the window. Can someone give me some light on how to fix this????

The Adobe Flash Player updater DOES NOT update the PepperFlash plug-in in Chrome. Chrome uses a PPAPI plug-in and Adobe ONLY updates the NPAPI plug-ins for IE and other browsers. You can ONLY update the PepperFlash plug-in for Chrome by updating Chrome. The PepperFlash plug-in is a separate file in a separate folder location.

  • Distribution MSI for Adobe Flash Player for Plugin Browser

The MSI File provided for distributing Adobe Flash Player for Plugin based browsers (in this case Firefox) is not working when we test in our test environment.
It is working with the Windows XP Clients in the test group however it does not work with the Windows 7 Client Machines.  Firefox prompts for a manual download of the adobe flash software. After the manual install of the Software flash player is working but there is a new item in the program catalog. Adobe Flash Player Plugin it's size is 6.00MB. Comparatively the size that is installed by the MSI is 16.xxMB and it doesnt work.
    What I have tested
WSUS Install of MSI - Failed, Firefox prompts to install adobe flash
Client Install of MSI - Failed, Firefox prompts to install adobe flash
Intercept EXE from Temp Directory and then install after uninstalling MSI - Works
The problem appears to be in the MSI, like I said before it is working for the Windows XP Clients.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Anand,
If you have licensed Flash Player for distribution (which appears to be what you are doing), you should have received an email with the download links for the installers.  If you are distributing Flash Player without first licensing it for such, you must apply for a distribution license at Adobe Flash Player Distribution | Adobe.  Once you do this, you will receive an email with the links to download Flash Player.
Further information on licensing, and distributing Flash Player within your organization is available in the Adobe Flash Player Administration Guide for Flash Player | Adobe Developer Connection.
