Flash Player 10 Install Instructions (x86_64)

There is a lot of outdated information regarding how to install the Flash plugin in ArchLinux x86_64.
The following instructions will install the latest Adobe Flash 10 Firefox Plugin for a x86_64 Firefox version 3.0.3 on a fresh install of x86_64 Archlinux. I recommend that you completely rid your system of all files from previous attempts at installing either the nspluginwrapper or flashplugin packages. This assumes starting from a clean slate.
1. remove all previous nspluginwrapper and flashplayer files
a. look in /usr/lib/firefox*/plugins/
look in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/
look in /opt/mozilla/lib/plugins/
look in .mozilla/plugins/
2. install the following:
pacman -Sy --asdeps gtk2 lib32-atk lib32-cairo lib32-expat lib32-fontconfig lib32-freetype2 lib32-gcc-libs \
lib32-glib2 lib32-glibc lib32-gtk2 lib32-libice lib32-libpng lib32-libsm lib32-libx11 lib32-libxau \
lib32-libxcb lib32-libxcursor lib32-libxext lib32-libxfixes lib32-libxft lib32-libxi lib32-libxinerama \
lib32-libxmu lib32-libxrandr lib32-libxrender lib32-libxt lib32-pango lib32-pcre lib32-zlib libxt \
util-linux-ng lib32-alsa-lib lib32-libxdamage lib32-libstdc++5 rpmextract
3. checkout the latest flash plugin at www.flash.com
a. write down the version number from the download page (version 10.0.12.36 as of 10/29/08)
4. yaourt -S nspluginwrapper-flash-beta
a. edit the PKGBUILD to reflect the current version:
pkgver=10.0.12.36
b. edit the PKGBUILD to reflect the current download location:
source=(http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_10_linux.tar.gz)
c. remove the md5sum line entirely
d. let it install
5. create a .mozilla/plugins folder in your home directory if it does not already exist
6. run the following command as a non-root user (the user who owns the .mozilla directory):
nspluginwrapper -i /opt/mozilla/lib/plugins/libflashplayer.so
7. enjoy lower CPU usage when watching flash videos

i get the following error:

Ive checked libxcb and i have both the lib32 versio nand the normal version.
Ive tried all the methods I can find of installing flash. Its annoying me
Any ideas anyone? Am i just being dense?

Hi,
I'll try to get to the point right away hoping some of you can share my experience and find a way out of this problem: My computer is a Windows 7, my browser Mozilla Firefox, I use Opera as well.
I used to have Adobe Flash Player installed on my Windows 7 for a long time, it worked well, but it seems something has changed lately: I promise I do follow every single instruction given by Adobe, checking if my PC is right, if my anti-virus allows the installation etc... Every time my download works well, seems to be installed, but when I want to use it (I do need it desperately for my work, I work in arts), it seems to crash or simply doesn't exist anymore. I must install it again, sometimes 5 times a day.
I'm logged in with Creative Cloud, I have my Adobe ID, I can check if I do have the right version (I can see the clouds pass by above the tree etc...) or I'm told with a bouncing red cube that Adobe Flash Player 11 is installed on my computer.
I've tried to activate my version as I read this somewhere, but how?
I do have Shockwave Flash plugin from Mozilla Firefox, is something wrong with that perhaps?
For a whole week Mozilla Firefox stopped responding and I had to initiate it again three times.
I'm simply lost and what's more important, I'm losing a lot of time.
My computer suffers from the permanent downloading and browser troubles.
Is there anyone who went through the same kind of experience and would be kind enough to exchange it with me?

Your Adobe product purchase history has nothing to do with Flash player install
Adobe Flash Player is a free software.
Make sure you have downloaded the right Flash Player as Flash Player for Firefox is different than one needed for Internet Explorer.
Please download it from : http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/

Sorry, when I try to install Flash Player 17.0.0.134, it will begin initialing, then stop saying "Installation Failed" and to press "Finish". It then directs me to troubleshooting. I made sure I quit Safari as per their instructions, but have not gone as far as "uninstalling" my current Flash Player 16.0.0.305, because it looks like I will screw something up in the process.

Hi, I want to report a problem with the Adobe Flash Player 13.0.0.182 (Mac OS X, English) installer on OS X 10.9.2. Mavericks. I'm posting this so the engineers will know what to fix in the next update version.
I have a 2013 iMac so according to Adobe blog posts it shouldn't be affected by the invalid cpu instruction issue.
Symptom is the first installer downloads the 2nd, starts to launch it, then quits it with "Error: Unable to proceed with the installation" and a green (success?) checkmark. The GUI provides no other assistance except to "FINISH", which leads to the generic "Adobe Flash Player could not be installed." page.
The system log says: Adobe Flash Player Install Manager[22567]: Install failed with error code: 30.
The FlashPlayerInstallManager.log says:

Regardless... I still recommend "falling back" to 12 until they get this release right for everyone. I've read plenty of posts in the Apple forums from new iMac, Mini and MacBook users who've had nothing but trouble. Even the "gurus" there are linking to Chris Campbell's post here:

Uninstalled IE with flash player, installed firefox and added flash player - doesn't work!

I have just used Revo Uninstaller Pro to remove IE 9 (I think ... it's the standard built in IE taht comes with my Win7 Home Premium 64 bit OS). I had flash player installed in IE. Upon uninstalling all flash components from my computer using Revo, I did an "advanced" search to find all leftover registry entries and files/folders associated with Flash. While doing this, Revo had warned me of some files that "have recently been added" (I believe since initial installation of Flash), and gave me the option of deleting these one at a time. I cannot remember what these files included, but looking at a posting from another person, i seem to recognize some files that I *may* have deleted while removing with Revo:
Flash10d.ocx
Flash10e.ocx
FlashUtil10e.exe
GetFlash.man
install.log
swflash.inf
uninstall_activeX.exe
(again, I have no idea if ANY of the above were the actual ones I deleted, but I seem to remember seeing a couple of these at least listed to me as options to delete)
I proceeded to remove ALL files from my computer.
Then, upon installing Firefox and, subsequently installing flash on it, I noticed that some flash websites load and work properly, whereas other ones don't. I also been to the adobe confirmation page stating taht I have successfully installed and am running Adobe Flash player. Is this simply a case of missing one key component in flash?
Before the entire uninstall mission I did, I remember revo as listing more than 1 Flash programs installed. I believe I had seen two flash 11 programs installed in Revo, which I thought were just simply duplicate installations. I vaguely remember one of them being listed as Flash player 11 and the other as Flash player 11 activex? (both were removed off my system).
Are these files different and did I, in fact, need both of these installed?
Anyway, I have no idea where to go from here. Help please!

I have Windows 7 64 bit, and run IE11.
I have Adobe Flash Player installed.
It works fine on my login (administrator) but my young Son can not watch video's, as it says Flash Player is not installed.
How do I fix this please?

My Flash Player install on my Mac fails after about 10 seconds. No message - just installation failed.
I've repaired permissions, closed my browser, cleaned up everything I can think of, all to no avail.

I unistalled, which I had done previously. I didn't find any Flash Player files in the folders that are mentioned,
Delete all remaining files and folders locating in the following folders:
\Library\Internet Plug-Ins\Flash Player.plugin
\Library\Internet Plug-Ins\flashplayer.xpt
~\Library\Preferences\Macromedia\Flash Player\
~\Library\Caches\Adobe\Flash Player\
so I'm assuming a clean uninstall.
I then tried another Install and got the same result. Couldn't find a Flash Player Install log! Here's the Directory log.
file://localhost/Users/bobwellsted/Desktop/Picture%202.png
Hope this means something to you.
