Flash player 10 installation error
I have tried several times to
install Flash 10 but it fails.
Firslty it failed to register. Then after many attempts (following Adobe instuctions) and finally using standalone uninstall & install files it appears to fail when it gets to the active X install.
In the event log there are errors flagged in COM+ and MSDTC Client. Any clues on what is stopping the install and how to fix it?
Or, can I go back to Flash 9?
Finally ended up going to firefox and downloaded no worries. Works fine in firefox but still not working in IE8.

Adobe Flash Player 12 installation error
I cannot install Adobe Flash Player 12. I go through all of the setting and just when I think it's about to finish I get the "General Installation Error" message.
I've trashed all the Flash Player folders in my library but it hasn't helped. Any suggestions?Hi,
I am having the same issue.
This link is probably more useful though not in my case.
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-mac.ht ml
I too get the General Installation error and have followed the advice on the Adobe website.
"Close all browsers if an error message appears."
I have closed all browsers (force quit) but still get the "General Installation Error", interesting I also get update Garmin communicator.
I have 18GB free on my drive.
Any ideas what would cause the Mac Installation packages to fail? -
Adobe Flash Player (general installation error)
Anyone that can't update or install the latest Adobe Flash Player have this problem/error and know how to solve it?
Thanks for your response!I rebooted a million times did nothing. Turns out I found out the easiest way is to go to Activity Monitor look for Dock and quit the dock then try installing. This method seems so be the easiest and working for everyone.

Adobe Flash GPO Deploy error “InstallAx.exe” Flash won’t uninstall
correctly from a GPO deployment
Error message from EventViewer: Product: Adobe Flash Player 10
ActiveX -- Error 2753.The File 'InstallAX.exe' is not marked for
installation.
I am running Windows 7 and I am trying to uninstall Adobe Flash
Player 10 ActiveX yet I can't find it on the list of Add/Remove
Programs. I have cleaned the registry with CCLEANER application. I
also followed instructions for removing the registry keys of the
following website
http://faultbucket.ca/2010/12/adobe-flash-gpo-deploy-error-installax-exe and still nothing.
I am stuck and I don't know how to remove Adobe Flash Player 10
ActiveX from my computer. Can anyone help me Much Appreciated! We had this same problem recently and the faultbucket link pointed me in the right direction however the registry entries were different for us.
Most of our computers were fine but some had problems with Flash Plugins and some with Activex and some both.
The best way to fix a computer or set of computers is to first uninstall all Flash and then note all remaining Flash entries in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products.
These entries can vary based on what versions got corrupted on your systems.
This ended up being the fix for us for both Flash Plugin and ActiveX version. We tested it and had great success as a .reg file and are now deploying it via GPO.
(We had 4 defunct registry entries for Flash plugin and 3 for Activex)

Unable to install Adobe Flash Player 11 ActiveX -- Error 1722
Hi,
I am unable to install Flash Player 11.5.502.149 on Windows 8. The error reported is:
Adobe Flash Player 11 ActiveX -- Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action NewCustomAction1, location: C:\Users\Nick\AppData\Local\Temp\InstallAX_11_5_502_146.exe, command: -install -msi
We have tried running uninstall_flash_player.exe to try and clean things up but this still fails. Is there a known problem with installing Flash player ActiveX on Windows 8? Flash player Plugin works fine just the ActiveX version which does not.
Thanks,

Attempting to Upgrade to Flash Player 11.4 - Error: application currently in use
I noticed that at least other have experienced this, but in a different browser.
Since last night, sites like Youtube has prompted to install the latest version of Flash Player. So, I went ahead installing the new version by following the instructions. Somehow, I kept getting this message - Error: application currently in use. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but kept getting that error message.
The browser with the problem is Firefox 16.0.2. I'm using Windows 7. The problem does not appear in Chrome and Chrome has not prompted me to upgrade to the latest version of Flash player.
I appreciate any input.
Thanks,
G.
Please don't refer back to that Flash Player Issues Link, because I have visited it many times. The guide there has not specifically address this issue much.Could you please download the installer from the following link: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#mai n-pars_header
Then close all browsers and double-click the downloaded file.
Thanks,

Flash Player 10 Installer: Unable to install - No Drive Space Available
I recently formatted my system and re-installed Windows XP.
For whatever reason, Windows decided to assign my hard disk to H:\
rather than the traditional C:\. As I have been installing software
this evening, I discovered that Adobe Flash Player 10 would not
install. I was given the error message "Out of space". With more
than 500 GB of available space, I know I am definitely not out of
space. However, given that I was not prompted for a location to
install the Flash Player, I hypothesized that Adobe had hard-coded
a path beginning with C:\ into the installer. To work around this,
I mapped the C:\ drive letter on my computer to \\MYCOMPUTERNAME\H$
Upon re-running the installer with the mapped drive, Adobe
Flash Player installed without error, thus confirming my suspicion
of a hard coded path. Obviously, I will need to leave this path
mapped (thus chewing up a drive letter) or Flash Player will
probably cease to work, however I thought I would point out this
flaw so you can improve the installer for others whose computers
may vary from the usual installation configuration.
Adobe's installer should either ask the user for a path for
installation or query the Windows registry to obtain path
information. For example, if you want to install your application
into the Program Files folder on Windows, the wrong way to do it is
to hard code the path "C:\Program Files\". The correct way is to
query the registry key,
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion for
the String value "ProgramFilesDir".
Please pass these comments along to the people responsible
for the Adobe Flash Player installer.
Also, Thank you for creating Flash -- I love developing with
it and it performs so much better than Java's applets. You guys did
a great job!
MikeEasy fix for you.
If you have a drive H, usually meaning you have a RAID array,
then something else may be named C. In my case it was one of the
slots on my card reader. First, you need to get rid of the card
reader as a drive C.
In XP, you would go to performance and maintenance in the
category view of control panel and from there, administrative
tools> computer management. Vista path may be slightly different
i have no clue
In computer management, click on disk management. You'll see
the drives and the drive letters displayed. Right click on the C
drive, and choose 'change drive letter and paths.' Change the drive
letter of this drive. In my case, I renamed all 4 of the card
reader 'drives' to w,x,y and z for simplicity. Note- you cannot
change the letter of the boot (H) drive, and if you are changing
the drive letters on something which has software associated with
it.. like your burner.. then you would be advised to change the
drive letter back after a restart, or you may find that software
may not work lol.. in the case of my card reader there is no
software and its plug n play and seems to still work fine.
If you did not have a drive named C then you can skip the
step above!
Now you need a C drive. Click on Start and then Run. Type cmd
into the text field and hit enter. A command box will appear. Type
into it.. subst c:"H:\windows" where C is the drive you want to
create and H is your boot drive and hit enter. You can now close
the command box.
If you now go to 'my computer' you should now see a new
drive, called drive C which has the same space as your H drive. .
Open the flash file, it will now install into the H drive and
run normally.
This new drive C is a virtual drive, and since we aren't
going to mount it, it will disappear when you restart your
computer. Its only there to trick the adobe installer into thinking
there is enough space to install. Once the installer gets started,
I assume it realises its mistake because it installs into the H
drive instead, so the C drive is never actually used.
Hope this helps :) -

Flash Player stops installation 50% of way
I have installed Chrome but Flashplayer 11 goes half way through the process and says I have to turn off Internet Explorer. I did the suggested steps as the help guide said but cannot get passed this 50% success mark. Enabled scripting(already enabled anyway) turned off pop up blocker. Java keeps bothering me to update. Is this the proplem?
Java is unrelated to Flash Player, but you should update it anyway (security fixes).
Try this: download the offline installer from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#mai n-pars_header and save to disk, then close all browser windows and run the downloaded installer. -
