Flash Player 10 on Vista 64 bits

Dear community,
The 64 bits Flash player is not yet available on Vista 64
bits.
Thus, the working way is to run IE 7 in 32 bits mode, and
install the 32 bits flash player.
Is this environnement officialy supported by Adobe, IOW, can
we report bugs with such a config.
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

  • I need to know how to run Flash Player in a Vista 32-bit browser running on a 64-bit O.S.

Help please !  I have been reading for days, trying everything to find the answer to my dilemma, which BTW is making it impossible to use our new computer now. Every other minute it seems I get the message that I need to run Flash Player in a VISTA 32-bit browser which is actually running on a 64-bit operating system.  Do I have to uninstall a program (what and where is it) and then instal something else (from where etc.)?
Give me back our XP!  I get the idea that Adobe keeps SAYING they are developing a platform for Adobe Flash to run on a 64-bit, but I fear that is only a stall. Who is responsible for helping neophytes?  No matter how many times I have tried to contact Adobe, it is a joke.  One time, even though I do not have a subscription for service, the poor man took pity on me.  But his Indian accent was so severe I have ZERO idea what he was saying.  Can one of you wonderful, erudite, helpful people out there give me the solution in computer language 101?? I will be forever grateful.  I wish our computer "guru" had been smart enough to give us the pros and cons when he suggested Vista and 64..... When I am asked for a serial number even I have no earthly idea how to get that either.  I feel completely HELPLESS  and SLEEPLESS in Tucson.   Thanks SOOOO much to whomever can get me going in the right direction. (Forgive my LONG message.  I had to vent.  I feel better.) CLOWG

    Hi Clowg,
Sorry to hear that you are having trouble.  Unfortunately, I don't believe the folks here on this forum will be able to help you with your issue.  Have you tried posting on the Flash Player forum?

  • How to install Flash Player with Windows Vista 64 bit?

IE 9, Windows Vista 64-bit, Flash Player quit working and won't install. Error Adobe Flash Player 11.1.102.55.  I have deactivated User Accounts and Security, gone to Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash and Run as Administrator NPSWF32_FlashUtil, and still not working.  One suggestion was to run an add-on from Macromedia, but that failed and I don't know what the add-on was.  Have also run System Restore and restored all my Internet security setttigs to default.  Nothing is working!

    Check the following:
Enabling Flash Player in Internet Explorer 9
ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer 9
    Also check this:
In I.E.9, click Tools, click Internet options, click Security tab, ensure that the Internet security level is Medium-high.

  • Flash player 9 on Vista 64

Oddly enough, after having installed the Flash player 9 on my
32 bits browser on Vista Ultimate 64, I get presented with a
message, all sites that use Flash content, which tells me I need
Flash player 6 or higher to view their content.
I'm clueless to a solution. I've done anything on my end that
I could come up with to fixt the problem:
    1) Reinstall the player on my 32 bits browser.
    2) Make sure I use the same browser to view the sites.
    3) Restart the browser.
    4) Reboot my system.
    5) Use a registry fixing tool to fix possible errors in the
    registry.
    6) Reinstall again.
Your install web page confirms every time I visit it that I
have Flash 9 installed, however all those other sites keep
insisting that I need to install a Flash player version 6 or
higher. It makes me want to pull out my hair...
Any ideas as to how I can resolve my problem?

All sites? Truly all? My immediate hunch is that you're
    probably
running into JavaScript (or other) Flash version detection
    that doesn't know
how to recognize or accommodate your operating system.

  • Revert to Flash Player 8 on Vista?

I am having issues with fscommand("exec",'myfile.exe") in
using CS3. I need to revert back to player 8 and I can't seem to do
this. I have uninstalled the flash player 8 active x control. And
installed an archived version of 8...but the player keeps using
version 9. I am testing with a flash projector file... would that
have the player 9 already built into it?
    Thanks,

  • I am trying to download Adobe Flash Player onto a Vista Oper. system.  What version do I use?

I am attempting to download Adobe Flash Player onto a Vista Operating system, which version do I use?

Use the latest 32-bit version (11.2.202.235).
The 64-bit version is not officially supported on Vista; however, if you have Vista 64-bit, you may try if you succeed installing and running the 64-bit version of Flash Player.  You can download the installer(s) from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#ins tall_in_a_firewall_proxy_server_environment

  • I amhaving trouble with flash player on my vista. The extension is oxe instead of exe.

Hi. I download adobe flash player on my vista windows. I need it for games I like to play. However, I keep getting the message the adobe flash player "install/uninstall is not working".  I have to uninstall it if I want to go into yahoo, google or any  other website. Then my computer works fine.  But if I want to go into any of my games I have to reinstall it.

Same here, just updated to Flash Player 16.0.0.287 after reading about security warnings, and it is now crashing constantly on any web pages that have flash embedded, which are numerous.  I'll either have to disable the plugin or attempt to find a download for the prior version and take my chances on security.  I know Adobe rushes these updates out due to security concerns, but better testing should be done.

  • Is Adobe ever going to do a flash player for Windows 7 64 bit IE ?

I've had my Win 7 64 bit laptop over 6 months and still no sign of compatible
flash player for the IE 64 bit. Is there ever likely to be one ?

I read from Adobe's own site that they are working on the 64-bit version for most everything:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/000/6b3af6c9.html
They provide instructions for installing on Mac as well.
I imaging Apple (ahem, Steve Jobs) will still resist Flash on their products until they can get them to run smooth consistently, and even then they're not likely to allow it on their hand-held devices because they don't like developers using cross-compatible languages.

Where does it say that it is 32-bit?
Flash Player 11.x automatically installs the 32-bit and 64-bit players on 64-bit systems.

  • Flash Player Streaming Windows Vista

My company recently started using Flash Media Server to
    stream audio and video content.
My boss just installed Windows Vista Ultimate and now no
streaming content will play at all. Simple Flash animations work,
but nothing that accesses the Flash Media Server for content. I've
uninstalled and reinstalled multiple versions of the Flash Player
on his machine but nothing seems to work. I also tried the new
"Reset" feature in IE that is supposed to return it to it's
shipping state and that didn't work. I navigated to the "System 32"
folder and ran the Flash Updater EXE. I downloaded and installed
all of the available updates through "Windows Update".
I also tested Flash Objects that stream video on Adobe.com
and they don't play either. Has anyone heard of this happening or
know what I need to do to fix it? I don't know if this is a bug in
the Flash Player or with Windows Vista.

WHY do you need an older version?
I have 13 on my Vista Ultimate 64 bit machine. It works fine.

  • Flash Player Crashing on Vista SP2

I have had constant Flashplayer crashes when using the 11.5 series and also since updating to 11.6 when using Firefox.
I have the latest version of Firefox (18.2), but crashes have occurred when using previous, recent versions of it.
I am not a gamer and have no software that is heavy on memory. I think the heaviest user of memory is Skype, around 68,000k. I counter the excess memory usage of Firefox by using Firemin. Overall memory usage is around the 40% mark.
I too am really tired of these crashes. What could be the cause in my case? Could there be an incompatibility with the most recent versions of Firefox? A few months back and consequently a few versions ago of Firefox, I didn't seem to be having this problem.
I have Windows Vista Business Service Pack 2, 4GB RAM, 32 bit, AMD Turion (tm) 64 X 2 Mobile Technology TL-58 1.9 GHz.

I've branched this to a new thread so that we can actually troubleshoot it.  I don't have enough information to make a good guess at this point.
The most common cause for stability problems is old graphics and/or sound drivers.  We've been focusing on performance and power consumption over the last year, and that means leveraging the purpose-build hardware rather than the general-purpose CPU.  The dedicated chips are much more efficient at decoding video, audio and rendering 3D graphics, but there is no way to insulate from buggy drivers and hardware -- if we hit a driver bug, unfortunately, there's generally no recovering, and we'll exit as best we can.
I've included some information on how to test for the driver problem below.  You might just want to skip directly to the video troubleshooting guide first, disable hardware acceleration and see if the problem goes away.  If it does, updated drivers will hopefully solve your problem -- if not, you're looking at upgrading hardware and/or OS, or just leaving Hardware Acceleration disabled on this particular machine.
If you're still having stability problems after disabling hardware acceleration, just start here and try and answer all of the questions as accurately as possible.  It will help me narrow down the possible causes and/or have someone try to reproduce the problem in our testing lab.
    First, let's cover the basics:
Can you give me step by step instructions to reproduce the crash, or is it random?
Are you running any security, anti-virus, anti-malware, or software firewall products?  If so, what are they and what are their versions?
Is it an actual crash (you get the plugin has crashed message from firefox) or is it an Out of Memory condition (you get the grey exclamation point)?
If it's a crash, let's get the crash logs from Firefox.  That'll be super helpful.
In the address bar, type about:crashes.  Click on each link to submit it to firefox, then copy each link and paste it in the reply to this thread.
While we're collecting information from Firefox, copy everything from about:support and about:plugins and just paste it in with the reply.
If you're seeing stability problems primarily with video or games, I'd recommend working through this troubleshooting guide.  In particular, disable hardware acceleration and see if your stability issue goes away.
The first step is to work through the video troubleshooting guide for your operating system, here:
    Windows - http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html
    Mac - http://he px.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.htm
When reporting issues with video or audio, it's also helpful to get your system hardware and driver details.  Instructions for finding this information can be found here:
    Windows - http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_For_Windows_users
    Mac - http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_For_Mac_OS_users
Finally, sometimes video and audio problems are caused at a lower level and not directly related to Flash Player.  I recommend trying both of the links below to see how they perform.  If the problem exists with both, then Flash Player is most likely not the culprit as the HTML5 video link does not use Flash Player when playing.  You can verify this by right clicking the HTML5 video and looking for the words "About HTML5" at the bottom of the menu.
    HTML5 video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTl3U6aSd2w&html5=True
    Non-HTML5 video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTl3U6aSd2w
