Flash Player 10 won't download

I'm trying to re-download Flash Player.  My spouse uninstalled it, and I'm trying to do a re-install.  When I try to download, the download box won't come up, and it's not appearing on the bar at the top of my screen to unblock the dowload.  What's going on?  I'm running on XP and IE 8.0.  I have Norton antivirus, but I tried turning it off and installing, but that didn't do any good either.

Hi, I'm not sure what site you are using, but try this:
Download and SAVE the Uninstaller to your Desktop:
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
Then Download and SAVE the IE Installer to your Desktop: (Use the Windows/Internet Explorer/EXE Installer
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
Close all browsers, disable any instant messengers in the system tray(area near the clock)
Disable Norton.
Be sure to use the Administrator Account
Run the Uninstaller and when it is finished, Reboot(restart) your computer
Now check Norton and make sure it is still disabled. It will re-enable on that Reboot.
Then Run the Installer and when it is finished, Reboot.
Enable Norton and any messenger service you disabled.
Test here to make sure you see the Flash logo aninmation and the Flash Player version should be 10.1.102.64

You may want to print out these instructions to make it easier.
Hope that works for you,

I can assume that you're using IE11, and probably with Windows 8.1.
This is a known problem with Internet Explorer 11, which Microsoft has been aware of since October 18 when they released their latest "untested" browser. The pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player. So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon.
Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using an different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

Could you try clearing your data and cache from the Google Play Store to see if that solves the problem?
On my system I go to: Settings->Applications->Manage Applications->All->Google Play Store, then I click the Clear Data and Clear Cache buttons.

i am new to the MacBook Air.  I downloaded a game from the apps store.  Whenever I try to play, it keeps telling me to download the Adobe Flash Player and its already downloaded and is up to date.

No game from the App Store could be prompting you install Flash. Only a web page could do that. Does the game open a web page?

If you are talking about Safari on the iPad, there is no version of Adobe Flash for iOS and there never has been. Clear Safari, close the app and reset the iPad.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If you are talking about Safari on your Mac, you are in the wrong forum. But I would still clear the cache, quit Safari and restart the Mac.

Mac OS X version 10.6.8. I keep getting "blocked plug-in" messages. Adobe Flash player update won't upload. Suggestions?

You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications (including Safari) first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
After installing, reboot your Mac and relaunch Safari, then in Safari Preferences/Security enable ‘Allow Plugins’. If you are running 10.6.8 or later:
When you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser, but check this also:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5655?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US  which also covers ‘blocked plug-in’.

  • Flash Player 9 won't install on Mas OSX

I am working on an Intel based Mac running Mac OS 10.4. I
have previously had Flash Player 8 installed with no problems.
I recently went to a website that required Flash Player 9, so
I downloaded it and installed it. I got no confirmation page, all I
saw was "Items to install: 4" go down to "0" and then the program
closed itself. I opened up Firefox and it said I had no flash
player installed (version 0). Safari gave the same answer.
I checked Applications:Firefox:MacOS:Components and there was
an executable file called "FlashPlayer." I then downloaded the
uninstall and uninstalled Flash Player from all my browsers. Then I
redownloaded the DMG.ZIP of the install program and reinstalled
Flash Player - still nothing. It did the exact same thing (looked
like it installed, then closed itself) with the same results. Now,
not only can I not view the one page I need Flash Player 9 for, I
can't even watch videos on YouTube. Nothing.
    Any ideas?

Well, none of these steps have been tested (by me) on a non
Intel mac.. So maybe we need different steps for PowerPC
processors, which wouldn't necessarily make sense to me.
Can you try these steps in order please and let me know what
    happens?
    1. Delete the following files (or the entire folder) if they
    exist:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Flash Player Enabler.plugin
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Flash Player.plugin
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/flashplayer.xpt
    2. Repair disk permissions using the Disk Utility
(/Applications/Utilities/). For details see Apple TechDoc
"Troubleshooting permissions issues in Mac OS X".
    3. Reinstall Flash Player 9.
THEN... if that fails do this:
    1. Delete the following files (or the entire folder) if they
exist *(again, and yes I know it's repetitive...)*
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Flash Player Enabler.plugin
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Flash Player.plugin
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/flashplayer.xpt
    2. Run Disk Utility's "Permission Repair" again..
    3. Install FP9 as root:
    a. Open Terminal (/Applications/Utilities/Terminal)
    b. CAREFULLY type the following line, exactly as you see it
here (there is a space after cd):
for intel macs: cd /Volumes/"Adobe Flash Player 9"/"Install
    Flash Player 9 UB.app"/Contents/MacOS\
for powerPC macs: cd /Volumes/"Adobe Flash Player 9"/"Install
    Flash Player 9 OSX"/Contents/MacOSClassic
    c. CAREFULLY type the following line (there is a space after
    sudo):
for intel macs: sudo "./Install Flash Player 9 UB"
for powerPC macs: sudo "./Install Flash Player 9 OSX"
Let me know if you see any path discrepances on the powerpc
machine. I'm looking at the paths on my macbook pro and trying to
type them out correctly on the XP box I'm doing this forum
    on..

  • Adobe Flash Player Installer gets stuck "downloading" and won't proceed

I'm on Mac OSX 10.10.1, using Safari and Chrome as browsers. I recently upgraded to Yosemite and since then have gotten error messages that I don't have Flash installed. When I download the Installer, it gets stuck and won't move past "30%" downloaded. I've left it for hours, and it is still at 30 when I return. Is there a permissions issue that I could play with to allow it to continue installing? Any suggestions for what to try to get this installed?
I've been able to download the installer itself, but the problem comes after I double-click "Install Adobe Flash Player." See screenshot below.
This is where it gets stuck:

    Use the offline installer http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_osx.dmg

  • My mac won't install adobe flash player, how do i download it?

it downloads and everything, and the little icon goes down to the bottom bar but then when its done downloading and i press finish the icon dissapears and it still does not work. I am just wondering how i can download it so it works????

Download this: Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.70. When the download is finsiched double-click on the .dmg file that you should find either on your Desktop or in your Downloads folder. The disc image will mount on the Desktop. Double-click on the disc's icon. Double-click on the installer you find inside the disc image. This will install Flash.

  • Have installed adobe flash player and is in downloads, and my documents, but I can't open it due to conflicting instance. No idea what to do next

Trying to open adobe flash player so my daughter can play educational games. Think it's downloaded ok, but it won't open due to 'conflicting instances'. I don't even know what that means!

This is the full procedure for installing Adobe Flash for Firefox.
1.Download the Flash setup file from here: <br />
    [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version]. <br />
Save it to your Desktop.<br />
    2. Close Firefox using File > Exit <br />
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed, <br />
    {XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
    3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
    * On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen). <br />
    See this: <br />

  • Flash Player 9 won't install

I downloaded the install_flash_player.exe, I opened it, it
unpacks and then it goes away not finishing the installation. There
isn't anything in the task manager saying that it is still working.
It installs and works fine in IE via the web; it won't install on
any of my other browsers on the web and I want it to work with Fire
    Fox.
Is there some other way to install Flash Player 9 in Fire
    Fox?
    EDIT:
The install/unpacking name in the Task Manager Processes Tab
is GLBxx.tmp, where xx are some numbers that seem to be in HEX,
haven't done enough testing to know for sure though.

Flash 8 caused me 2 months of work after it
installed itself on my old computer. I couldn't fix it and bought a
new computer with XP, hoping to get around the problems I had with
ActiveX and Flash crashing IE. The new one worked for a month or
two, and then something went wrong and I started having Flash
objects crash IE. I uninstalled Flash and said the heck with it. I
guess I am one of the few idiots here that can't get Flash to work
properly. I spent days on uninstalling, reinstalling, buying
antivirus software, altering the registry on Adobe advice, all ot
no avail on my old computer. I will resist until necessary making
Flash work on my new machine. I'll have to pay someone to install
it. I won't go through that again. The Flash - Windows - IE
compatibility problem sucks bad. Nobody can reproduce the problems
I have. On two machines in a row. What are the odds? I check back
here every few months to see if something has improved. In 8 months
    I see no improvement.
