Flash Player 11.3 r300 is literally killing my laptop
Sometimes when I'm watching videos on YouTube or other websites which require flash player I can't have more than 2-3 tabs open before my laptop goes nuts.
The fan starts running really loud and crazy, my laptop gets really warm and when I open the task bar, the CPU memory usage is at like 90% or higher and the file Adobe Flash Player 11.3 r300 (it's version 262 I believe) has 50 or higher under the "CPU".
This program is literally killing my laptop and I'm really afraid that my laptop will break down and I really don't want that to happen.
My laptop used to work fine but ever since a couple of months ago it has been harder and harder for it to keep up with flash programs. Now I can't even view news sites with flash banners at the side because it uses too much CPU memory.
I had a similar problem a few years back, running an old Windows XP-based PC operating with (don't laugh) 250 mb of memory. After I upgraded the memory to 500 mb, and blew six years worth of dust from the insides of the case, the problems with the fan went away. The CPU usage still spiked up to about 70% when watching some youtube videos, but normally ranged around 25-40%.
In order to get help, you'll probably have to put down some specs, including:
The brand of laptop you're using/how old it is.
The operating system--windows xp/windows seven/whatever.
The amount of RAM you have installed. (In that way, the techs can see if it meet's the basic system requirements for the newer versions of Flash Player.)
What browser you're using--Firefox/IE/etc.
The complete version number of flash player you're using.

Why Adobe Flash Player 11.3 r300 not working appropriately in Firefox 13.0?
Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64bits Pt-Br
Firefox 13.0 (Adobe Flash Player Plug-in) 11.3 r300
IE9 (Adobe Flash Player Active-x) 11.3 r300
In time: In both browsers (Firerox and IE9) Adobe Flash Player is slower than normal and in Firerox sometimes it crash.
My System:I too have an 8GB RAM and quad core processor on my desktop and my laptop it is an Intel Quad i7 core, 8GB RAM. When there was any sluggishness, it was not Flash, but something else causing the heavy CPU useage because it was fighting with Flash.
On my computer, I went into FireFox Add-ons, then checked the extensions and plugins. The one problem I had was with a Real Player plugin. It allowed the recording and download of any video, with an App style button that appears above the the video itself when the cursor is placed there. For me that was disabled by FireFox because of conflicts, but even in the disabled state, it caused Flash issues. When I uninstalled the extension or plugin, Flash worked fine.
It may be the same, or another plugin or extension that is causing the issue. FireFox sites say to disable, but that proved useless to do because disabling for the RealPlayer plugin made no difference, it had to be removed completely to see the difference.
If no greyed out ones, then uninstall all the plugins and test FireFox. If all works great, reinstall one by one and each time test FireFox with Flash. You will likely find which one it is and know what to do from there.
I know it is a bit of a hassle, but from the experience I had so far, Flash was not the issue, it was from another plugin.
If it is Real Player, then disable the plugin by:
Close Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer if either is running.
Click "Start," click "All Programs," click "Real" and click "RealPlayer." (Or click the RealPlayer shortcut to open it)
Click the "RealPlayer" menu button at the top-left corner of the RealPlayer window and click "Preferences."
Click "Downloading and Recording" category near the bottom of the list of categories at the left side of the preferences window.
Uncheck the "Enable Web Downloading and Recording" checkbox by clicking it.
Click "OK."
Re-open Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer.
Worst comes to worst, uninstall real player completely or if there is another program that installed a problem plugin to FireFox, install that.
Let us know how this worked out. -
Adobe Flash Player 11.3 r300 has stopped working
I have Firefox 13.0.1, Win 7 Home Edition 64 bit, latest adobe flash player version 11.3.300.262. Latest nvidia drivers 301.42 - WHQL, 260 gtx nvidia card. I did a clean reinstall for nvidia drivers, and flash drivers, still same problem.
Everytime I go to fullscreen mode, my screen turns white and I have to left click on my mouse so the white screen goes away(otherwise the white screen hangs indefinite), I get a windows message stating adobe flash player has stopped working. After that I get send crash report for adobe.
Image to when the flash crashes. http://i.imgur.com/fX7Ld.jpg
This never happened with Adobe flash player 11.2, never. With the latest update it crashes, everytime I go fullscreen. This happens on http://www.twitch.tv streams, any livestreams. Youtube seems to be fine, when going fullscreen mode. And no, I don't have RealPlayer installed. I only have 3 addons installed and enable. Adobe Acrobat, Flash, and Silverlight, all latest editions. Everything else is disabled, or uninstalled.
I've Disabled Hardware accelartion in firefox still same problem, but with flash hardware acceleration enabled. I've tried Firefox Safe mode with all addons disabled, same problem.

I wasn't sure what you meant when you asked to "Attach the output of dxdiag.exe to your new discussion"This is the crash that we're tracking. If you haven't done so already, update to Firefox 13.0.1 and Flash Player 11.3.300.262. They both address stability issues that present with this crash signature. Then, make sure you have the latest available drivers for your video card.
Once you've gotten that out of the way, we want to make sure that we get this issue fixed. The steps below will help narrow down the cause and help us take the shortest path possible to getting a fix for you.
1.) Type "about:crashes" in your address bar, and copy the links for the time period where you encountered the crash.
2.) Please temporarily disable other plugins. Click Firefox > Help > Restart with Add-ons disabled
3.) Try disabling Hardware Acceleration in Flash Player. Details are in the Solve Video Problems section, here: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html
4.) If the issue persists, please disable Hardware Acceleration in Firefox:
Click the orange Firefox button
Click Options
Under General, uncheck Use hardware acceleration where available
5.) Attach the output of dxdiag.exe. Click "Use Advanced Editor" in the upper right above they reply window, and you'll get an Attach Files option. -
Adobe Flash Player 11.3 r300 crashes
I just had an update for Adobe Flash Player, and ever since then I have had multiple crashes every time I try to play a youtube video.
It will work for a few minutes, then will randomly crash Firefox. If I go to Task Manager and end Adobe Flash Player process, Firefox starts working again.
I was using youtube last night before the update and it was fine, after the update almost every video has crashed.
I'm running Windows 7, Firefox 13.
Is there a fix for this? Or a way to revert back to an unbroken version until it is fixed?
Thanks for any helpJeromie Clark wrote:
Graphics hardware definitely sounds like a possibility. We'd like to know more about your configuration, so that we can at least blacklist that hardware to prevent other folks from running into the same problem.
If you could give us the output of dxdiag.exe on your computer, that would be very helpful.
Click Start > run > dxdiag.exe
Choose Save All Information
In the forums, click Use Advanced Editor (it's a the upper right of the reply window), and attach the file.
I can only see how to attach videos and images, so I'll just insert it here. Good luck !:

C:\Windows\system32\en-US\erofflps.txtI have Firefox 13.0.1, Win 7 Home Edition 64 bit, latest adobe flash player version 11.3.300.262.
This never happened with Adobe flash player 11.2, never. With the latest update it crashes, everytime I go fullscreen. This happens on twitch.tv streams, any livestreams. Youtube seems to be fine, when going fullscreen mode. And no, I don't have RealPlayer installed. I only have 3 addons installed and enable. Adobe Acrobat, Flash, and Silverlight, all latest editions. Everything else is disabled, or uninstalled.
This issue does not happen when hardware accelaration is disabled in flash settings.
Please fix this issue. -
Ndiswrapper literally killed my laptop: story time
Just wanted to let everyone know what happened to my dell m1330 this week in case someone else notices the same behavior on their own system.
Despite the fact that I have an iwl4965, I've been using ndiswrapper for the better part of the year on this laptop just because I was so use to broadcom chipsets, I didn't care to try out the native driver ("if it's not broke" mentality). It's worked just fine for quite some time...until recently. For the last week or so, I've noticed that ntos_wq would, on occasion, start taking up a considerable amount of cpu time. But as long as I restarted my networking when it started acting up, it would fall back in line. But back on sunday, I left it running on the table while I was out to the rink for a few hours. When I returned, the fans were at full blast, and top was reporting a load of 4.7 something. Upon seeing this, I immediately turned it off.
A few hours later, I turned it back on to see if everything was alright. The random character corruptions made me believe otherwise. And as the final nail in the coffin, running glxgears hardlocked it. I would have liked to test this again to make sure it wasn't a fluke, but since then the only thing the laptop would do on boot-up was produce a white screen then slowly fade to randomly-colored vertical stripes.
Thankfully, I still had a couple months left on my warranty, and Dell didn't ask how I managed to give this thing a load so heavy the fans couldn't save it. They just sent a guy over and put a new motherboard in.
...also I'm now using the iwl4965 driver. Lesson learned.
Edit: And by literally killed, I mean it literally worked it to a fiery death, figuratively... wait wat?
Last edited by jb (2008-04-22 01:43:52)Damn - also: Hooray for warranty!
But looking at it from a different angle, I cannot stop thinking it is Dell's fault. If you want to use your laptop to compile some large packages, then the laptop would be loaded 100% for several hours or days. The laptop should still be equipped with sufficient fans, no?
Or did Dell sell this laptop with a warning that you cannot use this laptop at full speed for several hours? I don't think so...

Had Adobe Flash Player 11.3 r300 and it stopped showing videos, etc. in Firefox a few days ago. Now I've installed v 11.4 r402 and it still gives error message "Adobe Flash Player ... has stopped working." I uninstalled, downloaded again and reinstalled -- with the same result. No videos. Firefox Plugin check page shows it installed correctly. Any solutions?
Warning: Installing Adobe Flash 10.3
The instructions in the 11.3 crash article on installing the 10.3 don't tell you that the Active X Flash version must also be installed because the Adobe Uninstaller uninstalls ALL installed Flash and certain programs require that to work properly. I reported this two months ago and although I was thanked for it it was ignored by Staff and only corrected in the viewing videos problem article, which links to the crash article. If I have to do the job of Staff I'm happy to oblige, since there is no excuse for this. I actually corrected this same error by a Mozilla QA engineer who left out this same step in her testing on a bug report, and I got the expected result, she didn't.
jscher2000's recommendations are good, I'm only supplementing the crash article instructions for anyone who needs that.

Flash Player crashes when going into full screen mode
Hey guys! It's basically as the title implies. Whenever I am watching a video and attempt to go into full screen mode, flash player crashes and I get an error window reading "Adobe Flash Player 11.3 r300 has stopped working". As a matter of fact, it doesn't even happen all the time. It happens most of the time, however. It has happened even immediately after searching for and installing the newest version. What might be causing this and what can I do to resolve it? I am using Windows 7 32-bit and Firefox as my browser.
Thanks in advance friends!this may be hardware related. try unselecting "Hardware Acceleration..."
right click a movie or flash content and uncheck the box in the first tab in Settings. quit out of the browser and try fullscreen again. -
Flash Player version 11.3
Anytime I run Firefox my audio runs through Adobe Flash Player 11.3 r300. The volume defaults at full volume which is too loud and hurts my ears anytime I'm on a site like Youtube. I was wondering if there was a way to disable this or if I could get rid of it completely. Thanks in advance.
Hi,
You can try to set the default system volume to a lower level which would be automatically picked up by the Flash player (check '''Mixer''' on the Taskbar volume notification icon}. Alternatively you can also try to lower the volume level using the volume control on a Flash video and it will be remembered as long as Flash cookies (Windows Control Panel > [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager.html Flash Player] > Storage > Local storage settings by site) are not deleted, or Firefox is not set to '''Clear history when Firefox closes''' in '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Options''' > [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Options%20window%20-%20Privacy%20panel?as=u Privacy].

Adobe Flash Player crashes whenever accessing settings
Your operating system & version: Windows 8.1
Your web browser(s) & version: Mozilla Firefox 33.1.1
Your Flash Player version: Shockwave Flash 15.0.0.223
Explain your problem in step-by-step detail if possible: When accessing the settings of a flash-player window, by right-clicking on the window and selecting "settings," or by simply opening up a webpage that automatically requests access to webcam settings, adobe flash-player will invariably crash. Sometimes, this crash does not happen immediately and I'm allowed to access some of the settings, and other times I'm not. This seems to be coorelated with adobe flash player accesssing my webcam.
A direct link to a page that demonstrates the problem: An example of a page that allow me to access some of the settings before crashing: The Pituitary Gland: Anatomy, Circulation, Hormones, and More! - YouTube An example of a page that crashes upon accessing the settings at all Twitch and an example of a page that crashes simply upon loading due to requesting access to settings Omegle: Talk to strangers!Firefox will hang if you try to open the right-click context menu on Flash Player in Windows 8.1. It's a known issue. It's unclear at the moment whether its our bug or Mozilla's. The bug is assigned to a developer for investigation in the Flash Player 16 timeframe. Firefox is killing the Flash process, which causes the crashed plug-in dialog to be displayed, but it's really a hang, and the player is terminated safely.
In the meantime, you'll need to use Chrome or Internet Explorer as workaround. -
Automatic Updating Flash Player
I am set to receive Flash Player updates automatically. I am now getting an error message telling me that "Adobe Flash Player 11.3.r300 has encountered a problem and needs to close. I receive this message numerous times throughout the day.
I also get the following message, "The instruction at 0x007a0283 referenced at 0x887a7be2. The memory could not be written".
I am running Windows XP SP3 with all updates with Internet Explore 8 as the browser. I also have Google Chrome on the PC.
When the automatic update fails and I get the above message, I tried to manually install the updates from the Adobe site. I get the message to close all browsers, which I did and that Adobe flash Player is installed on Google Chrome.
Any suggestions as how I may fix this problem?I've been seeing the same or a simiar error on XPSP3 systems ever since they auto updated to 11.3.300.265 (from 11.3.300.257). Adobe?
The error log shows "Faulting application FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe, version 11.3.300.265, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.5755, fault address 0x000113c0." -
How do I stop a flash player from running without disabling flash

Good evening!
Google Ads is used by plenty of services, and in the case of YouTube, is in fact owned by Google.
Usually there is an 'x' somewhere that will make it disappear, and I think there are some good add-ons that you can use to block those ads if they are bothersome to you. -
Computer Freezing using adobe flash player
Hello, I have been using adobe flash player for a very long time and this issue has only appered recently.
My computer would freeze for 1-3 mins when I watch youtube or watch streams( pretty much anything that uses adobe flash player)
at first I thought it was my laptop but found that no one else had this issue and then I realized it might be the flash player ( smart right? )

Please help, I never had this issue before and it was only with the recent update of adobe flash player. The freezes are random but when it occurs the screen freezes and the audio is still playing but super slow and it is very loud Please Help thank you!Can you verify that you are using the latest version of Flash Player? You can get the latest version here: get.adobe.com/flashplayer
If you continue to have problems, please see this FAQ for some suggested solutions and details on what additional information we'll need to investigate further.
