There have been several similar posts in the past few weeks, but I have not followed them to see if there was a solution.
Try either to go back to the previous version 11.6 (see How do I revert to a previous version of Flash Player? ), or try the latest Flash Player beta: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer.html

Going to try a new profile in about thirty minutes. Going to try safe mode in about thirty minutes. If you don't see another post in 45 minutes or so (5:30PM JST, Sat. May 29, 2010), it means a new profile and safe mode didn't help.

  • Flash Player 11.6 r602 annoying boop sound

Flash Player is giving off a "booping" sound every 6 to 10 seconds it's utterly annoying. I already tried a reinstallation but to no avail. What could that be and how do i shut it off?
The Volume Meter in Windows 7 Ultimate x64 shows it as Flash Player 11.6 r602 and i have the latest version installed.
I'm using Firefox v20.0 x64 If there's any additional information that is needed i will try to provide it.
I have no idea what's causing it to do this sound and recording it would be a pretty hefty piece of work i think^^ so please bear with it...

  • Flash player plug-in causing safari to crash

    Hello,
I have been having a lot of problems lately with the flash player plug-in causing safari to lockup and at times crash. I have gone to the adobe website and reinstalled the flash player, but it still is happening. Is any one else having this problem? It happens on a wide variety of sites, and not just one. Any ideas why this is happening. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks for the files, that was really helpful.  Google Image Search doesn't use Flash, but we're investigating a couple issues specific to this Intel 4000 chipset that have been reported on both Mac (Yosemite specifically) and Windows over the last couple weeks.
It's unlikely that Flash is causing this, just because we're interacting with the GPU at a pretty high level of abstraction.  My suspicion is that this is a graphics driver bug.
My guess is that if you disable Hardware Acceleration in Flash and/or Safari, that this will go away.  It's not an optimal solution, but it should give you a temporary workaround and confirm that we're looking in the right place.
The video troubleshooting guide includes instructions on disabling hardware acceleration in Flash:
    https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html
I don't see an easy option in Safari 8 for disabling hardware acceleration, so let's start with that.

  • Update to Flash Player 11 has caused our Flash content to crash the Flash Player plugin. Why?

I work for a health and safety training company and we've create a SCORM compliant course using Flash that has been imported into Absorb LMS (our own instance of it www.astutis-elearning.com).  There are nine modules in the course each developed using Flash Professional CS5.5.
These all worked fine using the Flash Player 10.3 plugin but since the Flash Player update to 11 our modules (not all Flash content) crash the plugin at certain places.  Some modules load fine and then crash later, some modules get through the preloader scene and then crash as soon as it gets to the main menu.  We've done some testing and don't know if it could be a Flash component that is causing the issue.  At any rate, they used to work with 10.3 and they don't work with 11.  We've tried on a number of machines and browsers.  Its the same on all of them.
I am prepared to provide a login for people willing to help to see what is causing the problem.
This is an important issue as we have people who are currently on the course that may not be able to complete the course if they upgrade their version of Flash to the latest version.  I hope I have provided enough information.  Let me know if you need any more.

    Paul and DevChaz,
Like you, I am a Flash Developer at a company that creates eLearning.  Therefore, I assume that the way that we use Flash is very similar.  I was quite excited as I read through this thread since I have been experiencing very similar browser crashes in my newer courses since FP11 came out.  Like you, we have recently upgraded to CS5.5.
All of my crashes are with AS2 courses.  I would be curious to know if yours are AS2 or AS3.
Anyway, I took my use case, saved the flas down to CS4 and recompiled all the swfs.  This did not fix the problem as it did for you (see DevChaz's earlier post in this thread dated Oct 12, 2011 4:46 PM).
I have my problem logged in the Adobe BugBase here:
    https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3018637
    fpMonster,
I have recently added my cs4 versus cs5.5 compiled use_case on bugbase.  I am hoping that you'll look at this use_case and compare it to PaulGray's use_case to see why my use_case does NOT work correctly when compiled in a lower version of the Flash IDE.  In addition, perhaps you could share notes regarding this issue with someone at BugBase.  Thanks in advance.

  • Did Flash Player 11 patch cause problem with Symantec Endpoint?

I downloaded Flash Player 11. Now each time I attempt to get new antivirus definitions from Symantec I get a warning message that the process failed.

Unless your Symantec updater uses Flash content and uses it to enable download links, it's highly unlikely that the Flash Player update had any effect on it at all. Your best bet in determining this would be to contact Symantec suport and ask if their updater uses Flash content to enable download links.
I don't use ANYTHING from Symantec because I used to test it for another software company and I know what it does to a system. It was the first thing I removed from a new laptop in June.

  • [solved] Some programs cause problems for sound in other programs.

Today I noticed that audio has stopped working in some applications, but not others. The programs that I know where it doesn't work are:
    Hotline Miami (game)
    VLC
    Dungeons of Dredmor (game)
    Uplink (game)
Programs where I know it works are:
mplayer / smplayer (on the same files where vlc does not work)
    mpd
    Programs run through wine
Standalone flash player and the firefox flash plugin
Additionally, when I run a program where audio doesn't work, I have to restart programs where it does. For example, I'll pause mpd, open Hotline Miami, and then quit. When I try to unpause mpd, I'll get the error message "Failed to open audio output". But if I try a couple times, it will eventually resume. It's a similar situation for mplayer. I'll have to quit and restart mplayer a couple times after trying one of the other programs before audio will work.
Further complicating the matter is that there are no error messages for the programs where audio does not work. I can't seem to track down the problem. I also don't do much with sound beyond using mpd and mplayer, so I don't know when this started.
My hardware is a Lenovo IdeaPad z580 with integrated Intel HDA audio.
EDIT: I just noticed that the problem is not what I thought. Part of the problem was simply due to volume. So I can get sound in the listed programs. However, running those programs does still cause the problem for the mplayer and mpd where I have to restart them.

Gah. It does appear to have been a pulseaudio thing. I hadn't even realized it was installed, let alone running. I've fixed it. Thanks for the help! And thanks, brebs, for the asoundrc file. I think it'll help a lot.

  • Why do I get a Flash Player Plug-in "Application Error" every time I change programs?

I have the latest Flash Player installed: 11_9_900_152.exe, running on a firefox browser. Any time I leave one program to go to another, I get a pop-up message that states: The exception-unknown software exception (0xc0000710) occurred in the application at location 0x7756a389.
"Click OK to terminate program". Clicking "OK" makes the error box go away. Repair Guy

I'm sorry you've encountered this issue.  Could you post a screenshot of the error you are receiving?

  • Loss of sound in some programs?

Fresh from my previous problem which I managed to fix myself by chance, a new problem has arisen.
For some reason, the sound on various programs and applications just disappears for no apparent reason. Yesterday the trash had no sound to go along with it, whereas today it has returned and the sound on Football Manager has just disappeared.
Is there likely to be something causing this, either by me or a glitch or similar? Once again, any suggestions are appreciated.

As pointed out, it is a known issue and Apple has posted documentation although it's not entirely clear. Go to: Applications/Utilities/Audio MIDI Setup. Note: The default setting displays “Audio Input”
Anyway, from the pull down menu, it shows: Properties for “Built-in Microphone” on the left side of the screen, so from the “Properties For” pull down menu, select “Built in Output”. Then from the right side under “Audio Output” select “Format” and from the pull down menu, select 44100.0Hz and close MIDI Setup. This should resolve the absence of sound if the Mhz sampling rate was something different.
    Regards,

  • Even though Adobe says I "successfully installed" Flash Player 11, the is no sign of it in Programs

Please contact me back with any ideas.  System check by Adobe website and others says there is NO Adobe Flash Player on my PC even though the base model came pre-installed from Dell.  I was just doing an Update to Player 11.
Thanks for any help you can.  David

It isn't in your programs because it ISN'T a program... it's a plugin for your browser and THAT'S where you'll find it. If you use WIndows 8, Flash Player IS embedded in Internet Explorer. It updates through Windows Update.

  • Firefox crashes all the time, adobe flash player is the cause. What's going on?

I've tried everything !!! All the solutions mentioned in the troubleshooting pages , to no avail.
I am ready to move on to another browser. Please help.

Me too But '''only with Firefox'''. It's a Firefox problem. Adobe flash works fine on IE Chrome and safari just not with Firefox for some reason.

  • Hi I have online classes and I try to use my IPad 2 and then I try to watch video it ask me for flash player. I want to know what is the program for it?

What program I can use for iPad to do flash players job to watch video?

    Misagh wrote:
Can you tell what program I can use?
Simple answer: no.  As stated previously, there is no Flash for iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch (a.k.a. iOS devices.)
You can try other web browsers such as Skyfire and Puffin, which have limited support for Flash, but no guarantees.

  • Loss of sound in certain programs

For some reason, once I open certain programs the sound goes away. If I open Finale, Soundhack, Itunes, or Audacity at the same time, the sound will go away within these programs. Sometimes even if I close the program before opening the next one, it will not play sounds. Two of the programs (Soundhack and Audicity) give me output errors. Even though the sound goes away for them, though, my effects and other sounds work. Quicktime plays fine too.
At first I thought it was just a MIDI thing, but Quicktime will play midi's fine when the sound if off, too. I really have no idea what it could be. PLEASE HELP!
Macbook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Um, itunes worked fine. I re-opened Finale after closing Itunes too and it worked fine.
It happens once in awhile, mostly when I need to use the program urgently to finish a piece or project.
Last week I was working with soundhack, and then opened Audacity at the same time. Bad idea. Both quit working. Just to check, I opened Finale and it also didn't work. Finale works with MIDI, though, while the other work with AIFF.

  • How to set Flash Player to use alternate sound device?

How is the Flash Player configured to use a different sound
output device? The default sound device goes to small speakers on
the computer. There is an alternate sound device that connects to a
high quality audio system via SPDIF. I don't want to set the
system-wide default audio to the output going to the audio system
because it is not turned on all the time. I have configured
specific media appications to play through the audio system, but I
want the "default sounds" from the computer to use the computer
    speakers.
I can't find the settings in the Flash Player to cause it to
use the alternate sound device. There is a settings dialog that
includes exactly the necessary settings for a microphone (allowing
a choice from any devices). Where is the setting for speakers?

I filed a bug report to be able to change the audio output device in flash player under Key: FP-6588.
