Flash Player 11.8.800.94 is not running on Mac OS X 10.8.4 (MB Pro mid 2010 13,3")

Hi there,
I wonder if i can get any help here? I installed the latest flash player and it won't work. I can't watch movies, videos, etc.
When I open any stream or for example a youtube video, nothing happens. Just a black player.
Even the checkbox on adobe's troubleshoot page didn't show anything. Not even a "plug-in missing" or an error code. Nothing.
When I uninstall the program, everything seems normal, except that I can't watch movies, of course. The white box (on the troubleshoot page) appears and it looks like it should -> no flash player installed. If I install the latest version again, the same things as described happen again...
Version 11.7.700.232 works fine.
I'm really stuck right now. Is it possible that my hardware isn't supported by the current version? I actually don't think so....
Would really appreciate some help or clues.
Thanks and greets.
P.S.: I'm using the latest Safari and Google Chrome. Neither of them works with flash player 11.8.

No, the problem still occurs.
It's weird there are no plug-in errors or something.
With fp installed:
with fp uninstalled:
as a side note: a few weeks ago, I made a new clean Mac OS installation because of a harddrive replacement. So, the whole system is actually very tidy...

  • Adobe Reader 11.0.03 and Flash Player 11.8.800.94 Not Working on Windows 8

On a computer running Windows 8 Enterprise, Adobe Reader 11.0.03, and Flash Player 11.8.800.94, I am unable to open a flash-enabled PDF.  Reader gives me the error "To view the Flash technology content in this PDF file, please install this version of Flash Player that supports Adobe Reader and Acrobat."  Adobe's Flash verification page shows me that Flash Player is working, and I can open other basic PDFs in Reader.  I have another machine with an identical setup, except that it has Acrobat 11.0.03 instead of Reader, and the PDF opens just fine on that machine.  Why won't Reader open the Flash-enabled PDF?

  • Flash Player 11.8.800.170 not working

I have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player, but I still can´t see a video on a website.
I have Win7 64 bits and using Chrome.
    Please advise.

Chrome has it's own Flash Player embedded by Google.
TO check it, type "chrome://plugins" in the address bar.
If it IS enabled, you may need to update Chrome or  reinstall it.

  • Just downloaded mavericks, now iPhoto won't load because of an error message that says "You can't open the application "IPhoto" because it is not supported on this type of Mac" . I have a 17" MacBook Pro, mid 2010 model running 2.53 GHz and Intel Core I5,

I just downloaded the new Mavericks operating sytem on my mid 2010 MacBook Pro, 17" 2.53GHz, Intel Core I5 machine. My IPhoto is no longer working at all, I'm getting an error message that says - "You Can't open the application "IPhoto" because it is not supported on this type of Mac". I also loaded Mavericks onto my other MacBook Pro 17", mid 2009 model and everything works fine. I would think that the newer Mac would easily work with IPhoto. Also, when I try to download from the App Store, it asks for my Apple ID and Password, I enter it, and then the little spinning color wheel just spins forever, with nothing ever happening. I tried downloading the IPhoto Upgrade but it never actually downloads, HELP!!!

What version of iPhoto do you have installed?  Is if one of the versions shown as not compatible in this screenshot?
If it is then go to the App Store and download iPhoto 9.5.  It will be free if you have an iPhoto 9 or later verson currently.

  • Flash Player 10 will download but NOT install on Mac (10.4.11)

I have a MacBook Pro that has all of the necessary ingredients to run FP 10 (unless it requires Java, which also won't install - does the same thing that I am about to describe FP 10 doing)...I can download it, but as soon as I double click on the FP 10 icon, nothing happens. I don't get any install instructions, nor do I get an error message.
Is there something that I am doing wrong? Is there something I should be using to open the application prior to installation? This is really ticking me off, and I have had the same problem with the docx converter....

    Hello,
i've installed Flash Player 11.8.800.94 via GPO.
Installation works fine, but there is no flash player available in Firefox or Internet Explorer.
    Deployed both Flash Players.
Tried to reinstall Flash Player 11.8.800.94 for Firefox, but it's still not active.
    Windows 7, 64bit
    Greetings,
    Michael

    Hello Comvel.
    RE:
    Hello,
    i haven't fixed it yet.
I've deployed the last few version of flash player without any problems.
I haven't found any new things in the admin guide.
The plugins don't show up in both browsers. I can't enable them.
On the most importent clients, i've installed flash player manually.
I know it has been a few months since your post but, I was wonderingif you were able to find a solution for this that didn't involve manual installations. I've recently deployed 11.8.800.175 and am running into the same problems. Some work stations are just fine. But others, (both windows 7 and xp, all IE8) are not working. When navigating to a site like youtube, theres a banner that says update is needed. When you go to manage add-ons there is no shock object/add on.

  • Adobe Flash Player 11.8.800.94 will not install in Mac

I am trying to install Adobe Flash Player 11.8.800.94 into my MacBook OS 10.8.4 but everytime ot gets to 50% I get an error message saying Please quit the follwong programs to continue. Safari. et my Safari is closed. I have tried closing via CMD+Q and tried to install via Finder when I haven't even opended Safari at all. It is starting to get very annoying

Thank you, CF. I can't find my original post re this problem, but the "clean install" finally worked.Thank you so much and everyone else who chimed it. This is the way to go. However, I had to do it 4 times before it finally worked. So my advice is print out the instructions and folow them to the letter. Don't be discouraged if they don't work immediately. Go through the whole thing again and again if you need to. It WILL work.

  • Trouble installing Flash Player 11.8.800.94 on Macintosh

I have had repeated trouble installing Flash Player 11.8.800.94 on Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) despite following every step listed in the Macintosh Installation Help guide: uninstalling previous versions, turning off anti-virus protection, etc. Each time I get a warning message for both Safari and Firefox attempted installations as follows: "Error: General installation error." The only solution seemed to be to reinstall an earlier version: 11.7.700.225.
    Any suggestions?

If you're not comfortable with terminal commands:
Download the offline installer here (right click and "Save as")
    Quit all browsers
Go to: MacHD/Library/Internet Plugins... and if the Flash Player.plugin is still there "trash it".
Then go to: Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe and "trash" the Flash Player folder if it's still there.
    Empty the trash.
Mount the DMG and run the installer
Relaunch Firefox and it should work

PS I'm still new to Macs so the more broken down the better.

Adobe Flash Player 11.8.800.42 is the most recent version from Adobe. It is a pre-release version. I am using it without any noticeable problems.
The current stable version is Download 11.7.700.169.

You haven't actually asked a question, but as stated you should only download Flash Player directy from Adobe.
Nor have you said what version of OS X and Safari you are running.
You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version,10.3 or later, is for Intel Macs only, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.0.1.152 is for Lion.
    * Unhelpfully, if you want the last version for PPC Macs, you need to go here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html  and scroll down to 'Archived Versions/Older Archives'. Flash Player 10.1.102.64 is the one you download. More information here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/838/cpsid_83808.html
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.

  • Flash Player 11.8.800.94  Critical Vulnerability

    Greetings.
To my horror I just discovered on our webpages, with Plash Player enabled in the latest versions of IE and Firefox that at our commercial website (supremefulvic.com) advertising links are randomly being added to words on our webpage!!!! Through our hosting provider tech support I discovered that Flash Player 11.8.800.94 was the culprit. I disabled the Flash Player add-ons and all of the intrusive ad-links dissappeare. I then enabled Flash Player and all of the abusive unwanted ad-links re-appeared. Please research ASAP as I believe Flash Player has a vulnerability. This is absolutely abuse from Flash Player.
    Thank you in advance.

Shockwave Flash add-on is what the software is, not Flash Player, my mistake, sorry. Anyway, I discovered what the problem was.  When I downloaded and installed Shockwave Flash a day or so ago somehow along with the Shockwave Flash installation some type a ad software was coupled with the download and it go inadvertantly installed on my computer. I am always very cautious when installing software so as NOT to install anything other than what I specifically want to install. That ad software was integrated into my browsers with Shockwave Flash, and that ad software, through the browser using Shockwave Flash was targeting various keywords on all of the webpages I viewed with the browsers. When I disable Shockwave Flash the hyperlinks no longer appeared on the various keywords, and when I re-enabled Shockwave Flash the keywords were again turned into ad links. After my initial post here I did some more research and in one of the forums someone mentioned to check the installed programs through the Windows control panel and see if any type of ad software was installed. Well, I did check, and I discovered an installation of some type of ad software and I uninstalled it. My bad for not writing down the name of that software, and I humbly apologize for not doing so. After I uninstalled it those links did not appear on any of the web pages I visited. So, the problem was not Shockwave Flash, rather, it was that software that was USING Shockwave Flash to carry out its mission. So, if anyone else discovers those ad links appearing in their web pages they need to check the installed programs and see if any type of ad software is intalled, then if it is there, uninstall it.
By the way, thank you C F McBlob for your response.

  • Is there any point in installing flash player 11.8.800 +

I keep getting an invitation every time I reboot to install an update of Adobe Flash Player 11.8.800 16.9 mbs into my Dell vostro 1500 laptop in the U.K. with Vista.
I have tried to install it but it always fails to complete installation. I can find no information as to whether installing this update will be of any value, as I rarely use Adobe, and when I do everything works ok, so what on earth is the point of these habitual updating invitations? Will I suffer in any way if I just ignore them because they will not download.
Also with the invitation it also indicates it will install McAfeesecurity scan plus. What the hell is that? What has it got to do with an Adobe flash player. I did have McAfee securty a long time ago but found it poor compared to AVG so i now have AVG installed paid for till 2014 and do not want to go back to McAfee.Anyway I understood that if you have any virus security system, you should not attempt to install a a rival virus security system because they are likely to interfere with one another so increase your chances of getting a virus. So why am I being advised to install this with the Adobe flash player that I keep being invited to install. It all sounds like a big scam to me? Can someone please enlighten me. Thanking you

Do you get any error messages when trying to install?
Anyway, try the offline installer from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#mai n-pars_header (under the heading Progress bar hangs...).
As for the bundled 3rd-party software, the offline installer does not contain any.
