Flash Player 11_8_800_94 on Terminal Server

Hi
I have a problem with the newest Version of Flash Player on a Windows Server 2008 R2 Terminal Server.
I have installed Flash as Administrator with "change user /install". Everything works fine as Administrator but as a normal User with User Rights I can not see Flash in the Plugins.
I found thousands of articels with older Versions but nothing helped me.
Windows Server 2008 R2  64 bit
IE 9
Flash Player 11_8_800_94
Has someone a Idea?
Thanks
Werrner

If you open Internet Explorer - In the menue "Extras" - "Manage Plugins"
Normally her are all installed Plugins listed. As Administrator I can see the "Shockwave Flash Object" and "Shockwave ActiveX Control". If I log on with a account which has only User rights this Plugins are not listed.
If I open "www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/" in the IE it works as Administrator. As User it likes to install the Flash player again.
I think that some Security settings in the Registry are wrong but I don't know which one.
Thanks
Werner

  • Installing Flash Player 12 on Windows Server 2008 R2 X64 with IE 8

I have an app that runs on Windows Server 2008 R2 X64 that requires Flash Player 12. When I try to install Flash Player 12 it says that Windows Server R2 X64 is not supported by way of eliminating it from the list of supported operating systems. When I do a search I can find many people who indicate they have it running or explain "hacks" to get it running. Since the app requires it there is an implimcation that it should be running on this OS. What is the offical word on this?  This is a production server and I really don't want an "unsupported hack" running in this environment. Is there a supported means of having Flash Player 12 run on Windows Server 2008 R2 X64 with IE8 even if it is within the 32 bit version of the browser?

Server 2008 (x86) is supported, and I had an x64 machine set up last month that had FP12 installed and running in IE and Firefox. 64 bit IE wouldn't run it for some reason, but the 32 bit did. It installed in C/Windows/System32/Macromed/Flash and C/Windows/SysWOW64/Macromed/Flash, but I was unable to get the ActiveX plug-in to enable outside of 32 bit IE.
I also set up a Server 2012 machine that DID support the x64 ActiveX, but that's probably not an option for you.
Like you, I'd be leery of "hacks" to get it to run as an x64 pkug-in, as it may have unintended and undesired consequences in other areas.

  • Flash player for x64 windows server 2008 r2????

I was running IE 7 and flash was fine.  I upgraded to IE10 (sick of all the 'you're using an unsupported browser' messages).  Flash player update window appears suggesting I need to upgrade my player, telling me that the correct version for my browser and OS will appear automatically.  I upgrade and now have no flash player at all.  Can anyone help?   Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Version 6.1(build 7601:Service Pack 1)

  • Flash Player - Windows 2003 Terminal Services

We have terminal services users that are unable to use the Adobe Flash Player in their web browser. They keep getting the prompt that they need it.  The administrator can view it even in terminal mode.  I have done the user install, Add/Remove Programs option, changed the Registry keys to allow everyone read permissions and even full on the hkey classes root.  It appears that new users that connect can view Flash correctly but existing users that already had profiles can't still.  Any other ideas? Thanks for the help.

  • Flash Player on IE8 2003 Server Enterprise R2 SP2 x32 doesn't finish downloading

It stops at 7% or 47% each time... I've uninstalled it already and each time I reintstall the player it gets stuck on the download. I've rebooted the server a few times after each attempt.
I have run the installer through the command prompt and used "/debug" so if anyone knows what to look for in the log file I can email it to them.
    Thanks in advance

Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by clicking one of the following links.
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
    I recommend downloading BOTH
SAVE the files - DO NOT run them yet!
Reboot and BEFORE you open ANYTHING on your PC, run the installers (both)

  • Registry key to disable hardware accelleration in flash player?

It's causing IE to crash when people watch training videos in flash off Youtube via the terminal server... which as a TS mind you does not have particularly adept video hardware.

I don't have info on disabling hardware acceleration in Flash player.  However, if you are running Flash video in a terminal server environment, especially to remote users/locations, I strongly suggest that you look at Ericom Blaze, a software product that accelerates and compresses standard Microsoft RDP, so it speeds RDP while conserving bandwidth. Blaze accelerates RDP performance by as much as 10-25 times, and helps deliver higher frame rates and reduce screen freezes and choppiness.
You can read more about Blaze and download a free evaluation at:
    http://www.ericom.com/ericom_blaze.asp
Or view a video demo at:

  • Audio lag in video while on Terminal Server

    Hi Everyone,
We are having an issue with audio being out of sync when viewing flash video on a terminal server.  The terminal server is running Windows 2008r2.  The audio seems to lag behind the video by about 1 sec. We are planning to rollout training videos
and about half our users are on Terminal servers.
Here are some of the things we tried:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/rds/archive/2009/05/11/what-s-new-in-remote-audio-for-windows-7.aspx?PageIndex=2#comments
    On the server policy:
Computer Configuration ? Administratrative Templates ? Windows Components ? Remote Desktop Dession Host ? Device and Resource Redirection ? Limit Audio Playback Quality (Enabled, Audio Quality: Medium)
In the RDP file add a line that says:

    thanks...

  • FLASH PLAYER NOT RUNNING ON SECURED COMPUTER

    I
believe my problem is similar to the one described here.
We are running Windows Server 2003 with thin clients that RDP
into the server. I have the latest version of Flash player
installed on the server. I have administrative priviledges and I
have no problems but for a secure user they get a message that the
website requires the latest version of flash player. We have many
websites we need to visit that have flash content and we can't. I
assume that it is related to one of two things: 1) Flash player
won't function without administrative priviledges [which would be
absolutely stupid on Adobe's part if this is the case] or 2) there
is a GPO setting preventing it from functioning. I think the latter
is the correct problem. I am not farmiliar enough with the way
Flash player operates so I need a little guidance finding the
correct GPO - any ideas anyone?

When I open Task Manager the only thing I see is "Tasks".  I do not see the Processes tab.  I have seen this in the past along with measures of other activity, but not anything now.  I tried the Start/Search - nothing about Processes.
Once the Task Manager is running, select the Processes tab.  On older Windows version you may need to click on the Process Name or Image Name header to sort the process names.
Now right-click on every process that the Flash Player installer needs to close (e.g. iexplore.exe), then select End Process.

  • GPO Script Silent Install of Flash Player 11.3.300.265

    Hello,
I am trying to run a script that will uninstall older versions of Flash and then install Flash Player 11.3.300.265 (both the active x control and the plugin for Firefox).  The script runs on computers running both XP (SP3) and Windows 7.  My test machine is a Windows 7 machine.
The problem I am encountering is that the uninstaller runs successfully but the other .exe files do not run and install.  I installed old versions on my test machine and the new Flash unistaller successfully uninstalls them.  Then the script/installation gets hung up.  Here is a copy of the script:
    @echo off
REM This script runs in the login script. It checks to see if the computer has ran the script before by checking the logs directory for the computer name. If it hasn't ran before it continues on to uninstall any old versions of flash player and install whatever version is sitting in the 10.0 directory.
REM To push out latest version of flash player put the latest version in the 10.0 directory and delete all the computer.txt files out of the logs directory.
    set server=leejsp-fs2
    if exist "\\leejsp-fs2\syncnet\Adobe_Flash_Player\logs\%computername%.txt" goto end
    echo Flash Player install started on %date% %time% from %server% >> "\\leejsp-fs2\syncnet\Adobe_Flash_Player\logs\%computername%.txt"
    echo.
    echo Removing Flash Player...
    "\\%server%\syncnet\Adobe_Flash_Player\uninstall_flash_player.exe" -uninstall
    echo.
echo Installing Flash Player for Internet Explorer...
    "\\%server%\syncnet\Adobe_Flash_Player\10.0\install_flash_player_11_active_x.exe" -install -au0
    echo.
echo Installing Flash Player for Firefox...
    "\\%server%\syncnet\Adobe_Flash_Player\10.0\install_flash_player_11_plugin.exe" -install -au0
    echo Flash Player install finished on %date% %time% from %server% >> "\\leejsp-fs2\syncnet\Adobe_Flash_Player\logs\%computername%.txt"
    :end
The parameters I am using were found in the 11.3 Admin Guide.  I have also tried the install without the "-au0" parameter with no success.  When I manually run the files they install perfectly fine on the machine.  I have also tried running the script with out the uninstaller to see if the executables would install but that did not work either.
Last note: this script worked perfect with Adobe Flash 10.3 so all I did was update the file and change the file name (and parameters).
What could be going wrong??  Please, any help on this would be amazing.  I am very frustrated at this point.

    Pat,
    Thanks for the response.
I poorly described the script "hanging".  It does not hang up, it does complete.  It "completes" because the last line of text for the logs lists that the script finishes (ex: Flash Player install finished on Thu 07/26/2012  9:15:18.95 from leejsp-fs2).  However, Flash is not installed.  This tells me that the script is executing as well as the first command to uninstall older versions of Flash but the next two commands to install Flash Active X and the Flash Plugin are not.
Here is the FlashInstall.txt from my test machine.  It is just a snipet of the whole log but acccurately shows the issue.  It is a bit long.  Thanks for any assistance!

  • Do our users have to install Flash player to see our scorm content?

I am currently creating a scorm content using Captivate 5.5 within Moodle.
My question is do our users have to pre-install Flash player  to see our scorm module?
If so, is there any way we can avoid it?
One idea that I thought of is to install flash player on a moodle server.
Is it possible to do so, or this is something that I do not need to worry about?
    Sami

    Hi Sami,
I think, It's hard to find any user who might not have Flash Player already install on their browser.
Google Chrome has it inbuilt and most of the browser they get installed as a plug-in.
Not just for your course, every user would need Flash Player that for view several websites  (say YouTube )and failing that they wont be able to see Flash enabled content.
I would suggest that do not worry about the Flash plugin as almost all users would have it already.
With Captivate 6, you also have an option of using HTML 5 as published output not just flash!
    Thanks,

  • Problems upgrading to Flash player v11 on Windows 2003 Terminal Server

    Hello
I am trying to upgrade several Windows 2003 32-bit terminal servers, v5.2 to Flash IE plugin version 11.1.102.63.  This has not worked on the first two servers that I tried, and subsequently I have been concentrating my testing on just one of them.  The version on the servers prior to the attempted upgrade was 10.3.181.14.
On each occasion that I attempt the upgrade, the executable initially runs, but then does nothing.  The running process is visible in Task Manager, using no processing resource, and around 18MB of memory.  Unless I kill the process manually, it will sit like this indefinitely.  If I attempt the install again, I get a message informing me that only one instance of the process can run.
I have tried rebooting the server, I have tried running the install in terminal server install mode, I have tried uninstalling the previous version, I have tried re-installing the previous version (which works fine).  For some reason, this particular version will not run.
Any suggestions as to the next step would be very gratefully received.
    Thanks in advance.
