Flash player 11.8 successfully installed but is listed as disabled in the add-ons with no option to enable

I cannot get flash player to work on my firefox browser. I installed the latest version of flash player on my mac several times, and it says it is installed successfully. If I look on my add-ons from the "Tools" menu, it says that Flashplayer is disabled, but with no button or option that I can see to enable it. If I try to watch a video on youtube, it says that flash is blocked for my protection. Flash is working fine on Safari and Chrome. Do you have any advice as to what I can do to get flash working on this browser? Thank you!

I closed firefox and deleted pluginreg.dat, and then I opened firefox again and a new pluginreg.dat file appeared. The flash player still appears to be disabled when I look at my plugins though and if I go to a website that requires flash it still doesn't work.

I see two problems when trying to download a new version of Flash Player from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/. .
1. Your Web server is sniffing for my browser. I select the "Download now" button, and I get the same page all over again. The navigation is looping. If I spoof Firefox 6.0.2, however, I do get a download. This means you are sniffing for "Firefox" when you should be sniffing for "Gecko".
2. While spoofing Firefox, the download gives me install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih.exe, which is not the installer for Flash Player 10.3.183.10. Instead, it is some kind of helper. To get the correct installer file, I had to search my archives to find the URI http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win /install_flash_player_10.exe.
Both of these problems were previously cited in this forum at http://forums.adobe.com/message/3885371. Neither problem has been fixed.

The flash player plugin is correct installed, but firefox keeps asking to install it and then says not possible

I have installed flash player.
The test site of Adobe says it is correct. When I switch it off and do the test the test says "flash player is switched off, press to switch it on" when I dos so the test says that is corectly installed.
When I open the plug-in screen there is no adobe flash player, but only shockwabe flash player, but switching this one on and off had the above mentioned effect.
I have checked the registry (since I could not find anything about flash player in the program list, software in configuration, nor in program files and found that in the windows/system32/macromed/flash directory are the files flashutil9b.exe and flashutil_10uPlugin.exe and some other files, which gives me the idea that flash player is in effect installed.
Nevertheless a flash file in my website keeps asking for the plugin and tells than that it cannot be found.

The big problem is, that since I have these problems (on several computers, working on XP and Vista) I suppose that the visitors on my site wil have the same problem.
I heve been working hours to find out what the problem is, installed different players, used different formats, searched the internet for a solution and I don't want to export this problem to the visitors of my website.

Everyone reading your posts here is just another MacBook Pro user. We're all volunteers, not Apple employees. No one here can speak for Apple.
In my personal opinion, buying Apple products in a country where Apple has no stores and no corporate presence is a risk that the buyer takes knowingly. I don't think it's a wise risk, and I don't recommend that anyone take it. A small percentage of the products sold anywhere are going to have problems, and it makes more sense to buy an inferior product that can at least be serviced locally than to buy a superior product that may have to be sent thousands of miles for repair if anything ever goes wrong with it.

Flash Player says it is installed but doesnt actually work

So i am trying to use the Pandora website as well as some others, but it keeps saying i need flash player. I go to the adobe site and i installed the newest one and it said successfully installed. But when i (even after restarting my computer) try to use Pandora again it says i need to have flash player.
I tried to do the plugin check thing for Firefox but it just kept loading during the check. Also I looked in my add-on page, and i cant make it so a flash player can always be active. Thanks!

Why can't I find nor use flash player after a successful install

Just purchased an Imac Pro with OSX 10.8.5 and after various attempts to install/use Flash Player I'm still confused as to why the installer says all is well with the installation "installation succesfully completed" with no errors whatsoever, the troubleshooting site and, for that matter all applications, say "please install the latest Flash Player"

Spotlight search “Flash Player.plugin” (Search “This Mac” and choose "Show All in Finder")
Right click the Plugin and select “Open Enclosing Folder” Trash the Flash Player.plugin and flashplayer.xpt files.
Go to: [user]/Library/Preferences.
Note: You'll need to hold the "Option" key when you click "Go" from the Finder menu to access the [user] Library:
Without the "Option" key
And WITH
Trash the Macromedia folder there.
Go to: Mac HD/Library/Application Support. Trash the Macromedia folder there.
Go to: Mac HD/Library/Preference Panes (not Preferences, but Preference Panes). Trash the Flash Player.prefpane file there.
Empty the trash.
Download the Flash Player (For Mac OS X) again if necessary.
Quit Safari and go to your downloads folder. Double click the DMG to “mount it”.
It will appear on your desktop and a small window will open.
Double click the installer. If you see a warning, click “Open” to let it run.

Until a few months ago I was able to play videos in e-mails on my desktop computer, running on windows XP, through Verizon FIOS. Then I kept getting the message that I needed Adobe Flash Player 9.0. I have downloaded the latest version, Adobe Flash Player 10.3.183.1, several times, getting the message from Adobe that I am now running that program. However, when I try to play a video, I still get the message that the the plug-in isn't installed, and the table of plug-ins doesn't include Adobe Flash Player. Is there something else that must be done to make the (presumably) installed program active? If so, what is it?

Depending on whether you visit in Firefox or IE, you will be offered the appropriate player for that browser. Thus, you may need to visit with both browsers.
Alternately, you could download the installer files using direct links. You should always be suspicious of direct links to EXE files on a forum. Never run them immediately, always scan after downloading.

Flash Player Uninstalled and clean install but will NOT work

Yesterday my Flash Player stopped working. I tried to update and it crashed. I uninstalled all of the Flash Player info and then did several clean installs. I tried previous verisons and it still won't work. I have Windows 7, I use Mozilla Firefox and not sure what else you need to know to help me fix this before I lose my freakin' mind.

OK, I will try, but I really don't know. I don't have any other recommendations of places to go and just use Flash like you do. You say it just quit working in Win7. Since you mention Firefox, I am assuming you are using Flash as a plugin for Firefox. Usually when such a problem occurs, something has updated. It may be that the flash plugin in Firefox is disabled.
Did something else update when Flash quit working. When you say it quit working, what are the symptoms. I went to the samples I listed below to check operation -- what did you do?
I just updated both Firefox and Flash. I then went http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/samples.html and played a movie sample. No problems.
All I can do is try to help you troubleshoot and see if I can replicate your problem. After the update of flash, I tried the same sample in SeaMonkey and IE (Ugh). Both worked. I am running Win7, 32-bit for this test. Acrobat version is not relevant for the problem.
If this does not point to something for you, then more information on what you are defining as working may be needed. At this point, I see no issues on my end and can not replicate a fault. Firefox is now at 18.0.2 and Flash is at 11.6. It is interesting that it is listed as Shockwave Flash from Adobe in the plugins list. If you search for Shockwave Flash, Adobe indicates a version at 12.0. I am not sure about the difference.
Maybe some of this will help.

Oracle has a Java test page you could use to make sure it is enabled (note that it takes 10-20 seconds to start up the first time):

Note that ''JavaScript'' is a different beast than a Java applet. JavaScript is interpreted by Firefox directly and can be managed using options and the NoScript add-on.

After a Mac update, flash player (along with silverlight) asked to be installed when I tried to watch video content or play games. I installed flash player and it reports being successful and appears in my applications. However, I cannot watch videos or play games, every time I am asked to install flash player again and again and again. I suspect this has something to do with plugins but I am not sure. I have un-installed the program and reinstalled but it still will not work. I check my security settings and it does allow plugins. I erased my temporary internet files. I don't know what else to do. Any help would be appreciated! This is incredibly frustrating. Thank you

blocking software; intact I am inundated with it most times. My online
school work required that I disable pop up blockers and all was well until
an update a few weeks ago for both security and operating system. To the
best of my knowledge I am allowing pop ups and plugins but this may be
where the trouble is. I am unsure, honestly of what security is running
besides what I find in the system preference/security tab. Thank you again

Says Adobe Flash Player 11 successfully installed but it is NOT!

Hi, I tried to install the Adobe Flash Player 11. It says each time (tried many times) it was successfully installed but it was not. Actually it gets to 50% then stops and sometimes ask me to close Internet Explorer sometimes does not and then when I close it, it runs fast to 100% saying successfully installled. When I check in my control panel it gives me only 6MB installed but should be 16.3MB. But actually is not installed at all.
My OS is windows 7.

Here's what I recommend:
Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by clicking one (or both) of the following links.
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Because IE asks if you want to "Run" or "Save", choose "Save".
Reboot...
Then perform a "clean install"
Afterward, make sure Flash Player is enabled for Internet Explorer
