Flash Player 11.x standalone - weird fps issue

Hey there,
Windows 7
Flash Player 11.1 and 11.2 - 64bits
FlashDevelop + FlexSDK 4.5.1
Since 2 or 3 weeks ago, when I launch my standalone Flash Player, it's often really really slow for no apparent reason. If I set my project to run at 60 fps, it will stuck between 25 and 32 fps, for maybe 30-40 seconds, then maybe it will speed up to 60 fps, even if the project is actualy emtpy - nothing at all, just an empty document class. I started noticing this when I first start playing around with the stage3D but as I said, it happens even with a blank project.
I observed something really weird. Let say my standalone runs slow at 32 fps, then if I simply open Google Chrome besides it, then the standalone start running at 60 fps !!
The problem is the same with FP11.1 or 11.2. It doesn't seems to happens with the browser plugin, though I would have to double-check that.
Any help is welcome, as this problem is really annoying when developing!
Thanks
rb

Having more or less exactly the same issues with Stage3D, regardless of if the flash runs in a stand alone Projector or in IE. As soon as Chrome is started the FPS goes up to 60 and closing Chrome drops it down to around 40.
Did you or anyone else find a solution for this issue?
Thanx!

  • Flash Player 10.1.53.64 Update Issues in HTML renderring

    Hi,
We have created lot of Flash based dynamic reports, where content is getting injected by XML. Recently we have seen lot of issues in the way the content is being renderred in flash player specifically on 10.1.53.64 update release. Just to give one example: Earlier I used to get the content as a HTML formatted text like <b>balh blah blah   blah blah</b>
All the previous flash palyer prior to this latest version used to render the above html text proplery in the html textfield element. But recently in this new Flash player same is not working
What's weird in the above html code?
User creates the formatted sentence in Java based applications text editor, which is then being passed to XML file as a string and then to Flash. When user want to embed "&" as a character and provides space after it, Flash Player 10.1.53.64 is not able to understand the html code and the string gets displayed as is in flash player.
I know the solution to problem, i.e. if I pass string as <b>balh blah blah &amp  blah blah</b> it works fine in new player. But this is just one instance of it. Earlier flash player had no problem with this string? Is it something changed in Flash Layer 10.1.53.64 which is causing some issues.
What are the things that we need to take care of for similar instances?? Has any one faced similar issues in their code?
    Please let me know.
    Regards,
    Ashish

We too have noticed a few new nasty parsing differences in the new  10.1.53.64 player.  Not only with '<' and '>' but with  other character entities (named, hex and decimal).  From our analysis it  appears that the new player parses CDATA differently than before.  In  our case we've found that we'll probably have to add '&' to  every character entity by hooking into the XML object's 'onData' method.
Due to the  volume of content we have changing the source content is out of the  question.
As far as I can see the only bug that seems to  be logged for this is:  http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-5031
I would recommend going there and voting to have this addressed.
I  wish Adobe would acknowledge the issue by either saying it was a  purposeful change or a bug.  My vote is that it's a bug.

  • Adobe Flash Player version 11.1.0 Installation Issues

    Hi there
Has anyone encountered issues downloading the latest Adobe Flash Player version where it creates an error message saying close Internet Explorer even when Internet Explorer is closed?
I have Internet Explorer 10 and I have tried to download the latest Flash Player and it keeps failing to download as it asks me to close Internet Explorer.
I cannot find any guidance on the website and wondered if there was something else that people were aware of that is causing this issue..
Thanks for any help or tips.

I have the latest version of Flash Player installed. I cannot view videos from facebook, foxnews, etc. unless I make them full-screen. However, to do this I have to guess where the maximize button is on the various types of videos. That can be interesting. I can hear the audio, though. Any ideas or suggestions? I am running Windows 7.

    No, the problem still occurs.
It's weird there are no plug-in errors or something.

  • Flash Player 11.3.300.257 has issues with Firefox 13

Yesterday I did a speedtest on http://speedtest.ziggo.nl. My download value was the same as my upload value so I contacted my provider to see if there was a problem. Discovered myself that the problem wasn't my internet connection but the update of Flash Player I did some hours earlier. On Internet Explorer and Chrome I get normal download values when I do a speedtest, but on Firefox the download value is the same as the upload value. Also I get a lot of 'Flash Player is crashing' popup windows.
I use Firefox 13 on Windows x64. Updated to Flash Player 11.3.300.257.
I uninstalled Flash using Adobe's uninstaller and installed a previous version (11.2) and everything was working fine again. I got normal download and upload values when doing above speedtest. When I updated to 11.3.300.257 again, the download value was as low as the upload value again and besides that a lot of Flash error popups again.
So apparently the Flash Player 11.3.300.257 plugin for Firefox has a serious bug of some kind?

    Hey Chris,
I was able to duplicate this issue on my Windows 7 laptop as follows:
         1)  Completely uninstall FlashPlayer (using your tool) as well as Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Maintenance Service (used Windows 7 - uninstall from Control Panel).  Please note that I checked the box that said "Remove my Firefox personal data and customizations" to ensure that Firefox was completely gone from my laptop.
         2)  I then went out to the Firefox website and downloaded the "Firefox Setup 13.0.1.exe" app to my laptop.  I ran this app to install Firefox.
         3)  I then went to the following website http://www.ishmael.org.uk/karaoke02.php as I know that this URL uses Flash Player (obviously you can go to any URL that uses Flash Player - I'm just letting you know which one I used).  I then clicked on the icon on this page to install Flash Player.
Once the install was completed, the URL stops responding and appears to be locked up (although it will occassionally hiccup and display portions of the page and then lock up again).  You will eventually get a pop-up notice from Firefox that has the header "Warning:  Unresponsive script" and says the following:
A script on this page may be busy or it may have stopped responding.  You can stop the script now, or you can continue to to see of the script will complete.  Script:  chrome://browser/content/browser.js:6551
Selecting "Stop script" will get Firefox working until you hit another page that uses Flash Player.
To ensure that the above URL is not the culprit, I used one from your website http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html and had the same results.
    Hope this info helps!
    Jeff
NOTE:  As a reminder, I do not have RealPlayer installed on my laptop (and never have had it installed)

  • Flash Player MSI Installation, Uninstallation and Upgrade Issues

    Hello,
I'd like to request help regarding Adobe Flash Player. We are having issues when we push out upgrades via SCCM. On a number of our computers, we are getting multiple versions of Flash player installed. It seems like instead of upgrading the current version, Flash player is just installing new copies every time we push out a new version. This creates security vulnerabilities for us and also seems to corrupt the newest installation. For example, we will have to log onto a computer, uninstall all the previous versions and then reinstall the newest version to get it to work again. Our helpdesk is also getting errors on some systems when they try to uninstall the flash versions before doing a clean install.
    OS Version: Windows 7 x64 SP1
    Web Browser: IE9, 10 and 11
    Flash Player version: 16.0.0.xxx

Any help preventing this would be appreciated.

How do I capture and post a screenshot or video?

  • Help please? Static audio, Crashes, ActionScript Errors and more issues with Flash Player 16

So, this is the first time I'm posting in here and I'm sorry if I mess up or smth.
    Anyway, this is what happened:
    - Firefox tells me Flash Player 15 is vulnerable
    - I update to the newest version
    - After the update I run into several things that are highly annoying.
    First of all:
    - I can't watch any livestreams anymore, neither on picarto nor on twitch. The video keeps loading and buffering, then works for a second or two and then goes back to buffering OR alternatively the video would stop whilst the sound continues or vice versa. (My wifi connection is super fast and I never had any problems until the update)
    - On youtube videos only load for a second or two, then the audio vanishes and the video crashes. (Never had that issue before, EVER)
    - The audio is incredibly wonky, aka, depending on the bass or sounds I hear static noises and weird sounds. (This only happens on videos that require flash, the sound is fine when playing CDs )
    - When watching videos and pausing it or going back a few seconds to rewatch something, the audio suddenly is completely gone.
    - Flash player crashes A LOT
    EDIT: Another Issue appeared:
    - When watchign videos using the Blip player (used by some websites) I get ActionScript errors which then result in crashes
    I'm using:
    Packard Bell EasyNoteLS
    Windows 7 Home Premium
    Firefox 34.0.5
    Adobe/Shockwave Flash 16.0.0.235
    What I've tried to do:
    - revert back to an older version of Flash (but it kept telling me to update so I gave up on it)
    - Try to enable "hardware accelaration" BUT, when right clicking on the Flash Symbol on Adobe's site FF freezes and tells me that Flash player crashed
    - Found out that I already have hardware accelaration enabled and it still keeps crashing
    - I deleted all of its local cache
    - downloaded and installed the debug version
But none of it helped in the slightest.
    I really hope someone can help me fix this OR that adobe soon comes with a patch/update that fixes all these things ;_____;
    Thanks for reading and helping!

Just to let you know, I don't tend to send all reports but here are a few from within the last week:

I tend to submit crash reports most of the times lately but yeah--
Also, someting that really bugs me are these Actionscript errors because I can't upload a crash report for those--
(they are more rare now but still happen occasionally)

  • Flash Player playback issues in FF 19

I have been using Chrome for a while, but I miss my Lazarus form recovery so now I'm back on the Fox
However there's a bizarre problem that has cropped up after I've re-installed the MacOS
FF 19.0.2 has significant issues with flash player, video framerate is < .5 FPS, the frame will change every time I click the mouse... otherwise the audio will play but the video will not play normally.
If I refresh the page, the video will play properly, but if I pause it, the video will go back to it's incredibly choppy frame rate. This happens with any flash based video, not just youtube.
I've updated my Flash too, but it's only in FF, Chrome doesn't have this problem.
    Any thoughts?

'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''

  • Issue with video playback in Flash Player

I am currently doing some voluntary work for my mom for the local branch of the Alzheimer Foundation. Now I have encoded a video to mpeg4/h.264 and F4V using the Adobe Media Encoder only I am having not much luck to get it successfully played. Now is my question what could I be doing wrong? I already tried to use ActionScript 2 and 3 and disabled GZIP compression on the server and even tried different files like H.264 and F4V.
The strange thing is that the video always work just fine when being tested in Flash CS4 10.2 but when I tried it in the browser it fails. The Test Movie feature of Flash is using the following player version MAC 10,0,12,36. I am using 10,0,32,14 MAC in my Safari browser and their the movie plays fine once the file is fully downloaded (how can I change this?) only when let friends try it out which have version 10,0,32,18 or the same version it doesn't work for them. Also when I am using an older version doesn't seem to work. I thought that H.264 support was added in some version of Flash Player 9. One of the issues which I was getting that the video playback worked lovely in Test Movie with the below listed alzheimer.mp4 url but when testing after the SWF and HTML were uploaded to the webserver it failed to work and I was receiving a FileStructureInvalid error. Now I would expect that the video file would fail in Test Movie too when the video file structure is invalid.
I have tried the following video files both encoded with Adobe Media Encoder:
    http://www.letslearn.it/dropbox/alzheimer.mp4
    http://www.letslearn.it/dropbox/alzheimer08.f4v
The current player can be found at:
    http://www.letslearn.it/dropbox/alzheimer.html
I have attached my As3 version of the Flash file which is normal easy video stuff.
Anyone happen to know what could be the issue here? I am getting desperate!

Yes, I have just used the normal Video-object together with the normal trick to load Flash Video files with it. Nothing special only with a full URL for the play()-method. I have attached the source code for your convenience. The original files are edited in Premiere Pro CS4 and are based on one original ripped DVD vob file and a newly created Quicktime-based slideshow animation which has then be edited into one using Premiere.
After that I  have selected the sequence of the Premiere project which I have exported using File > Export which is using Adobe Media Encoder. For the encoding I haved used the Export Settings: "Format FLV | F4V", Codec On2 VP6 and then altered the video size and bitrate so that the file size gets smaller this is for the Alzheimer08.f4v file. The other file used the H.265 Web Medium profile with also the video size and bitrate modified after it got encoded and uploaded to my webserver.
The original files used by the Premiere Pro project are:
    VTS_01_1.dv
    Type: DV Stream
    File Size: 2.6 GB
    Image Size: 720x576
    Average Data Rate: 3.4 MB/Second
    Compressor: DV - PAL
    Quality: Normal (3.00)
    SLIDESHOW 2.mov
    Type: QuickTime Movie
    File Size: 3.2 GB
    Image Size: 720 x 576
    Average Data Rate: 3.4 MB/Second
    Compressor: DV - PAL
    Quality: Most (5.000)
Above information is obtained in Premiere Pro by selected Properties-option of the submenu when selecting the file.
Hopefully you can use this information but I could upload the original Premiere Pro project over the next few days. If you would be interested in it.

I am using an older version of JWplayer "5.10.2295" in a lot of sites and it was working fine so far. Since the latest version of Flash Player came out the videos can't be played a second time on any browser on Windows.
