Flash Player 9 HD Output

Well I have been looking for help in General discusions maybe

to get a HD swf file. Please refrer to my post below.

I think you are attempting to do something that Flash doesn't
support natively. The latest Flash versions support FLA, H.264 and
MPEG4 formats. - not QuickTime .mov format. In other words there is
no way one can use QuickTime movie at runtime in Flash.
Although I have not done that - QuickTime can be imported
into Flash at authoring time. From what I read it is a very tedious
and inefficient venture.
You basically need to import it frame by frame. Also you need
to match Flash frame rate to the movie's frame rate.
In addition, I am pretty sure you have to publish FLA into
QuickTime format - Flash will not play the movie. The only way to
make it play in SWF is to convert each frame into bitmap object. In
this case you loose sound and have to create a separate sound file
from your movie (using a third party software) that you will need
to synch with the frames.
All these problems will compound because of HD that will make
the file humongous in size.
I believe it is much easier to convert the movie file into
FLA and use NetStream.

    Are you still getting the errors when you attempt to deploy 11.6.602.171?
    If so, unless adobe has an actual fix, the only thing I found that worked was to use the Microsoft Fix It tool. It takes about 5-10 minutes per workstation. In your case, that's a lot of man hours.
    However, I did stumble across something else that *might* be a possible scripted solution: http://serverfault.com/questions/483437/is-msizap-still-useful-or-is-it-obsolete
    You will have to grab the product IDs from the Flash MSI files for the versions of flash you want to remove (using Orca, it's under Property > Product ID). I suspect that the use of msizap is questionable since it's been depreciated, but I didn't have the opportunity to actually test this solution.

  • Flash player 9 not playing quiz questions

    Hi,
    I have just upgraded to Captivate 5 and started to create a new project. I published it as swf and htm files using flash player 9 output becuase my users have flash player 9 on their machines. When testing it I found that the module without a quiz in it worked fine, however I added a single multiple choice question and republished and now all I get is the background screen with the opertunity to open the TOC. The TOC opens BUT you cannot navigate to anywhere within the video. I have checked that Captivate has all the correct upgrades and I know that the htm/swf works OK on my machine and a couple of other peoples machines (who do NOT have captivate installed) but have version 10 of the flash player.
    Is there something obvious I am missing? Do I have to get everyone who is going to take the module including the quiz to upgrade to flash player 10? If I do it will be a pain but possible however I do not understand why the quiz will not work with flash player 9.
    Thanks
    Erika

    You seem to be experiencing the same problem as I am... see post http://forums.adobe.com/thread/779624
    Even when I select "publish to Flash 9" it will only work on those machines that have Flash 10.
    The Flash version that we have is 9.0.16
    Can you do me a favour? Go to www.whatismyflashversion.com
    I'm curious to know what exact version of Flash 9 you have. Is it possible that we just happen to have the one or two Flash 9 versions that don't work with Captivate 5?? Like, if I had 9.0.17 than I wouldn't be having this problem?

  • Flash Player output in Captivate 5

    I have a module built using Captivate 5 that works fine on my PC. I have Flash Player 10.0.32 installed on my PC.
    Even though I set the output as Flash 9 when publishing the module, it does not work for people who have Flash Player version 9.0.16. Those who have 10.0.32 installed can move past the first screen of the module.
    When Adobe says publish to "Flash Player 9" does it include this version of Flash Player 9??
    Thanks.

    When you select the Flash Player in Captivate you basically "target" that version. It is not included in the project and will not automatically be installed on the users machine.
    The functionality is usually used when you publish stuff that goes into a corporate environment that use a lower version of the Flash Player.
    In Flash - The different version of the Flash Player support different things. The higher the FP version the more stuff is supported. If I create something in Flash and use a function that is only available in Flash Player 10 then I will not be able to publish it to Flash Player 9.
    Perhaps this detection does not work in Captivate 5 - did you use something special in your project? Any widgets, text animation or other out of the ordinary stuff?

  • No audio output when playing flash player??

    No audio output when playing flash player.   Any suggestions?  thanks.

    Without going into detail on the DVD aspect of your question (ripping/decrypting a copyprotected DVD is illegal in some countries), what format is the audio in that file? Have you tried transferring (and then playing) any other video files, did they work?

  • Flash player is getting output sound into BT headset only.

    I made some tests using my bluetooth headset. I went to System preferences and changed on sounds, the output to the headset, then i took it back to internal audio device and so, the flash player now is getting no sound output from the internal audio, i just get sounds for the headset, when i watch some movie on youtube i need to use the headset to listening and when i use other programs, iTunes, QT, etc, the sound goes right to external output. On System preferences the output is to the normal audio device, not the bluetooth.
    What can i do to correct this?

    Up, isn't there anything i can do? Could Mac restore the configuration like Windows restore does?

  • Flash Player Output

    I really need to separate...individualize...each persons output from Flash Player from a social collaborative network...social media. Video/audio chatroom specifically. How can I take that output from each user and say apply it to my mixer? I'll figure that out. But, how can I separate the "signal" packet...whatever it's called???
    Pleease help and advise.
    Thank you.
    Sincerely,
    David Sellers

    Digging a little deeper I see that this particular "chat room" use A/V Chat(by Boonex)...they will be no help. Still it is obvious to me that it is possible since I can turn individuals video/audio On or Off.
    Some kind of "interupt"???

  • Captivate 7 - Flash Player Error Window also minimizes Captivate Output

    Hi,
    When I publish a file in Captivate 7.0, the typical Adobe Error Message window appears:
    I usually just click OK and my project plays just fine.  In Captivate 7.0 when I click OK, the Adobe Flash window still closes, but now My Captivate project minimizes to the taskbar instead of staying open.  The end user has to retrieve it from the taskbar in order to view it.  I have no other IE windows open and I also have the latest version of Flash installed (11.??).  Do I need to do something to the standard.htm file?  Thanks!

    Hi there,
    Can you please add your C:\ drive as a trusted flash player location and see it resolves the issue or not?
    Thanks,
    Nimmy Sukumaran.

  • Managing output size in flash player 10

    I have created a SWF movie but when I maximise flash player 10 it blows the frames up to about 250%.
    How can I force it to only make them 100% size when maximising?

    Hi and thanks for your response.
    I have answered ur questions in order as asked.
    * Yes I test in Flash using ctrl/enter - the pages are all centred on the stage during creation of the file and they all appear IN FULL during the flash test
    * Yes I use the maximise icon in the top right corner of the flash player application.
    * I have also tried using the publish feature which is at this point set to create the html file for me. I will copy and paste the code for the html file at the bottom of this reply, however I would also like to have this as just a standalone swf video that plays in flash player which means that I need to solve the problem of the FLASH PLAYER sizing as well. ( I was going to distribute to some ppl as a standalone video via email NOT as a video in a web page )
    * When I talk about them being cut off - what I mean is that the images are all being cut off along the right hand side of the image so that part of the image is missing.  and no there is no scroll bar to view the remainder of the image.
    * When I talk about them being cut off - what I mean is that the images are all aligning to the left side of the page (I assume this is probably also part of the web page coding?) but they do NOT do this when I test or view in flash player.
    * The flash stage dimensions are currently set at 550px x 400px - the larger images that are being cut off are 912x609

    Further information:
    After reading your last reply further and being able to understand a little more of it I have gone and made a new test project and set the stage to the correct size for those larger images that I was having problems with.
    When I tested this in flash player this time the maximise button brings about the correct size as I wanted it to be (100% image size surrounded by the flash players border area).
    testing it in the html page brings about the same (correct image size and full display) however the images are still left justified instead of centred in the webpage. Can you show me where I would correct this please?
    I then have 1 further question:
    Now that I know what has caused the image sizing issue do I need to recreate the project from scratch with the correct stage size ? or can I change the stage size in the existing fully completed project?
    If I have to recreate the project from the beginning - can anyone tell me if there is a way when importing the images to the stage that I can get them all to centre themselves in the stage automatically by default (when I created the original project I had to do this one by one and there are approx 40 images)
    Test project html page code:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">

  • Quicktime plugin for screen capture does not work in flash player 11.2

    Hello,
                   I have created a quicktime plugin (it is .component file) for screen sharing purpose.
    I have used quicktime framework for that. plugin is detected in flash player.
    This plugin is working perfectly for flash player 11 and below.But,
    It does not working in latest flash player 11.2.
    I have seen following error on console -
    Google Chrome Helper EH[240:e92b] *** QTCaptureSession warning:
    Session received the following error while decompressing video:
    Error Domain=NSOSStatusErrorDomain Code=-8974
    "The operation couldn’t be completed. (OSStatus error -8974.)".
    Make sure that the formats of all video outputs are properly configured
    Note - Compression format used in plugin is kBMPCodecType.
    Please, help me.

    The issue ended up being the change in resolution to my external monitor. Flash was unable to detect the proper coordinates of the color I was trying to select because I was running my monitor in HD mode rather than selecting an actual resolution from my monitor preferences. Changing the settings to an acutal resolution, instead of generic "HD mode" fixed the issue.

  • Audio problems in Flash Player and Firefox

    Hi everyone!
    I have a problem that has been plagueing me for nearly a year now, all audio in all videos i play in Firefox goes out of synch, the video will start ok then at around the two minute mark the audio starts to lag until it's completely left the visual playback behind, the only solution is to keep clicking the video back a few seconds to re-align the audio, this is temp as the audio will slowly drop out of synch again!
    This problem has been driving me crazy!
    It doesn't happen in Chrome or IE only Firefox. I have posted thread after thread on tech forums but nobody has yet been been able to help, i'm using the latest Firefox. the latest Flash Player (uninstalled and re-installed properly) all my drivers are bang up to date, all caches cleared all....in fact you name it iv'e done it!
    This was never an issue until about a year ago, nothing has been installed hardware wise and the only software installed has been updates for ongoing programmes!
    Help me Adobey wan kenobi, your my only hope!

    Hi Chris,
    Hardware acceleration on or off makes absolutely no difference, i recently tried watching videos in a 100% fresh install and new profile in firefox (no addons) and the problem still occurs albiet a little slower in the new install, ie it takes a little longer to drop out of synch.
    There is a noticeable difference in framerate just before the problem occurs, like a very tiny hiccup, from that point on the audio gets left further and further behind, it's remedied by clicking back a few seconds on the video play bar but this is only temporary, lately i've even noticed it happening with live streams from the BBC, once again i must stress, this doesn't happen in Chrome or Opera or IE.

  • How can I make an ant file that launches an AS project app in a debug flash player that traces to the flex console?

    How can I make an ant file that launches an AS project app in a debug flash player that traces to the flex console?
    Basically I like the control over the compiling process that I get by using Ant - but I really want traces to come up immediately without having to switch contexts.
    I have an ant file that successfully launches a swf in the flashplayer - but I don't know how to make the flex console start displaying the trace output. I assume that I will have to point it to the appropriate trace output file - but I am not sure how to have ant even address the console.  Is this possible?
    Here is the the target node from my ANT file:
        <target name="launch">
            <exec executable="${FLASHPLAYER_EXE}" errorproperty="trace.output">
                <arg line="'${DEPLOY_DIR}\test.swf'" />
            </exec>
        </target>
    Thanks for any thoughts, or alternatives!

    For the record, I ended up using Logwatcher - it worked perfectly.

  • Flash Player doesn't play smoothly and out of sync in full screen

    Hello! Everyone
    The flash player (11.2.202.235) does not play smoothly and in full screen audio and vidoe is out of sync.  I didn't use to have any problem at all, it only started about two weeks ago and since then despite trying various things (i.e. disabling hardware excelration, uninstalling & reinstalling, trying various browsers etc.) has not resolved the issue.  I don't know why it has suddenly stopped playing smoothly as I have not installed any software recently which might have cuased this.
    I am using Windows XP (service pack3) and have dual partion with dual operating system (both XP).  There is the same problem on both operarting system and flash player won't run smoothly on either of them.  Although my computer and graphics card is quite old but the downloaded movies/DVD playback is fine even in full screen.  It runs smoothly and audio&video is in sync so I don't think it could my the graphics card.
    As I mentioned I have tried all the browsers but without any luck.  The BBC iplayer plays ok most of the time if not in full screen but as soon as you make it full screen the vidoe is more like a slide show and very jittery and audio&video gets out of sync.  Same with youtube vidoes, they play ok when not in full screen but the video in full screen does not play smoothly and audio&vidoes gets out of sync.  However the ITV player & Channel 4 content on 4OD does not even play smoothly when not in full screen and the video&audio is out of sync all the time.
    It would be really helpful if anyone can suggest anything to resolve this issue as I have not been able to find anything on the internet to solve the problem and its driving me up the wall.  Although I have tried to include as much details as I could think of so please let me know if I have missed any details that could be crucial in order to identify the problem.
    Thank you very much for reading this and taking the time to reply and your feedback.

    Would you mind opening a new bug on this at bugbase.adobe.com?  Please include your dxdiag report, a specific URL and a link to this forum thread.
    In the meantime, you might want to try our 11.3 beta or rollback to a previous version of the player to see if that resolves the problem.
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • I have a Mid 2009 Macbook Pro 13 with no restore disk; it has OS 10.8.4 I believe there is something wrong with the OS due to I can not install flash player to view Youtube videos and the when we plug in a Bose headset the sound out will work sometimes

    I bough a used Macbook Pro mid 2009 that came with OS 10.8.9 it didn't have a backup restore disk with S/N W8******66D
    When trying to view some youtube videos; a window would pop up saying "it needs adobe flash player is required for video play back get the latest flash player" but after downloading the file and during installation would have errors and will not installed.....tried to reboot and install again.....but still the same.
    The othe thing I had noticed is when using a good Bose headset with mic the sound output would noticed the headset and then switch from headset to Internal speekers and headset.....thinking that there might be something wrong with the plug in port of the computer or the headset.....the headset works with no issues on my iPad so there must be something wrong with the computer.....tried to move the plugin around the port but no change....while the headset is plug in can hear a short clicking noise and the sound would get lost and back again......but with nothing plugin to the port there is no issue with the sound or mic.
    Thanks for your feed back......it looks like I have two different issues one is a software issue and the outher is a hardware issue
    <Edited By Host>

    The "restore disk" is built into the Mac. See About Recovery.
    Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
    However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.
    Click the Try something new! link at the bottom of the YouTube page.
    I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check.

  • How can I use PreloadSWF with files built with -compiler.debug into Flash Player 11.4?

    I'm using Internet Explorer 9 on Windows 7 (x64) with a debug Flash Player (version 11.3.300.271 - I'm using the ActiveX plugin for IE). Using Flex SDK 4.5.1.21328A I compiled the ActionScript code
        package MySample {
            import flash.display.Sprite;
            public class MyHook extends Sprite {
                public function MyHook(): void {
                    super();
    Into a `.swf` file by running the command
        mxmlc.exe -compiler.source-path=. -output=MyHook.swf -tools-locale=en -headless-server=true -static-link-runtime-shared-libraries -compiler.debug -- Sample\MyHook.as
    I then preload this by creating an mm.cfg file and adding an PreloadSwf entry referencing MyHook.swf; running all this in Flash Player 11.3.300.271 works fine; I can point my IE to some web page containing flash applets and my own SWF file is preloaded just nicely.
    However, the most recent Flash Player release on Windows (11.4.402.265) breaks this. After updating the player, any flash applet triggers error message boxes from Flash player saying "Verify Error #1014: Couldn't find spark.components.Application". Clicking the error away opens the same message box, but with a few different type names.
    The workaround I found was to remove the -compiler.debug switch from the mxmlc command line; doing so make things work with Flash Player 11.4 but alas trace() doesn't work anymore.
    Does anybody know how PreloadSWF can be used to preload debug SWF files into Flash Player 11.4?

    Ah, thanks for making me aware of that forum - I didn't know about it. I now reposted the question at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1068071 - this thread can be closed as far as I'm concerned. Should I mark your answer as being the resolution to my question or the like?

  • 11/6/2014 - Beta - Flash Player 15.0.0.222

    The latest Flash Player 15 beta builds are now available. Beta builds can be downloaded from labs.adobe.com.  Today's build brings the Flash Player beta up to date with next week's official release.
    New Features for Flash Player 15:
    Relaxing Stage3D Render Target Clear
    In previous versions of Stage3D, after switching the render texture through Context3D::setRenderToTexture, you were required to clear it before drawing. In this release, we're removing this limitation and optimizing the use of render textures. This change will allow you to further optimize and reuse depth and stencil buffers between different render textures.
    For additional information, please see Relaxing Render Target Clear Operation in Stage 3D.
    Improved support for browser zoom levels - Windows 8
    Flash Player now has improved support for browser zoom factors other than 100% on Internet Explorer on Windows 8.x.  Devices, like the Microsoft Surface tablets, default to a zoom level of 150%.  In the past, this could cause problems with Flash Player and some 3D content.  With our new implementation, we can now scale the content and 3D buffers to keep everything aligned.  In addition, Flash Player introduces an option to render to an increased Stage3D back buffer, rather than scaling, on browser zoom to keep the resolution of the rendered content high. This option allows to the stage3D buffer to change in size in synch with the change in the browser zoom factor.  Developers are notified of this change with a new ZOOM_FACTOR_CHANGE event.
    For additional detail, please see the article Improved Resolution of Stage3D Content on Browser Zoom
    Flash Player Fullscreen Orientation Change - Windows
    Flash Player will now detect and appropriately scale your content to fit best in a fullscreen display when your device orientation is changed.  This change is specific to Windows and is implemented across all browsers.  We're focusing on providing the best tablet experience possible.  A resize event will fire when in fullscreen mode and the device orientation changes.  Developers, if your content does not resize, you will need to handle the resize event appropriately.
    For additional details, please see the Guide for Supporting Screen Orientation with Full-Screen Flash Player Content.
    Hardware video decoding on Chrome (PPAPI) for Windows
    We're pleased to announce that hardware video decoding is now enabled by default for Chrome users on Windows.  This feature will drastically reduce the CPU usage and improve performance on supported videos players.  We're working closely with Google to bring this feature to OS X and will provide additional details when available.
    Automatic software fall back with StageVideo
    Flash Player 15 now supports a Software version of StageVideo that provides an automatic failover to the software version when hardware StageVideo is not available. To leverage this automatic failover, the swf apps need to be compiled for Flash Player 15 and above.
    When the swfs are compiled for Flash Player 15 and above, and when hardware StageVideo is unavailable, the app will get a StageVideoAvailability event as earlier, but instead of being "Unavailable" it will ALWAYS be "available", and the reason will always be "noError". The app will no longer need to implement a Video object failover as the failover is automatic inside flash player. The apps can still choose to use Video object instead of StageVIdeo if needed.
    Hardware StageVideo availability is dependent on a number of factors, including:
    Browser hardware rendering support: If available, all wMode based apps will support hardware StageVideo. If not available, wMode=direct based apps will be the only ones that will support hardware StageVideo, unless there are other exceptions, like the ones mentioned below.
    On Windows:
    IE11: IE has an accelerated pipeline and the FlashPlayer is HW accelerated in all wmode, so StageVideo should always be available. Note that the decision to use the HW accelerate rendering pipeline reside in IE.
    Firefox: There is currently no HW accelerated pipeline available in Firefox on windows and only wMode direct will have StageVideo available all other wMode should generate a unavailable event.
    Chrome: Pepper has HW acceleration in all wMode, but some restrictions apply. For example Chrome will refuse to use HW acceleration on Windows XP and it has its own driver blacklisting mechanism. It is also possible for the user to disable the HW acceleration in the settings panel. Chrome exposes a somewhat useful page to allow one to see the status of its gpu acceleration: chrome://gpu/
    On Mac:
    Safari: All wMode should expose StageVideo
    Firefox: All wModes should expose StageVideo
    Chrome: All wMode should expose StageVideo, with the same limitations as the windows version.
    Driver version: Certain older drivers may not support hardware StageVideo
    User settings: If a user turns off hardware acceleration, then hardware StageVideo will not be available
    Full Screen: Hardware StageVIdeo is always available in Full Screen mode.
    When the hardware StageVideo fails because of browser support, wMode, driver version or user settings, starting with Flash Player 15, SW StageVideo will be used automatically without needing any configuration or code in the app.
    PPAPI Installers for Windows and Mac - Extended Beta
    We're pleased to announce that we now have PPAPI installers for the standard version of Flash Player for Windows and Mac.  Previously, this version of the Player was available only as an integrated component of Google Chrome.  With the introduction of these installers, Flash Player is now available for all Chromium based browsers using the PPAPI interface.  Please note that these installers are not required nor used by Google Chrome.  Chrome will continue to include Flash Player without requiring any additional installation.
    Both the standard and content debugging versions of the PPAPI installers are now available on http://labs.adobe.com.
    New MMS.CFG Flag - EnableInsecureJunctionBehavior
    Flash Player 15 restricted the ability for Flash Player in Internet Explorer to write to paths that traversed Junction files in Windows. This affected some enterprise organizations that relied on redirected user folders that also leveraged Junctions, and we have introduced a new mms.cfg that allows organizations to revert to the insecure behavior as temporary pain relief. We recommend that administrators only use this flag as a short-term workaround.
    This Flag only works in Internet Explorer with Protected Mode disabled.
    To enable this behavior, add the following line to your mms.cfg file:
    EnableInsecureJunctionBehavior = 1
    Testing Focus:
    Hardware Video Decoding is now on by default for Chrome users. If you experience playback or stability problems when watching Flash-based video, please report them to the Beta forums. Including the output of the DirectX Diagnostic Tool (dxdiag) would be especially helpful.

    Thanks Clark for addressing my problem.
    I was out of town, just returned today. Hence some delay in my reply.
    The application being at an enterprise level and huge, I am not sure how to share a simplified source.
    The complexity of the elements getting created in the application may also cause error in rendering at that zoom level.
    Let me find out some way out of how to share more details on this.
    I will be able to share the swf link with you after discussing the confidentiality terms with the concerned person.
    I appreciate your patience.
    Have a good day!
    Best
