The above keeps happening when using Firefox or IE 6.
Its very frustrating, can anyone help?
Thankyou

Success in installing Adobe Flash Player 17.0 at last.  The problem was the little gray box on the installation box that you have to click on which will acknowledge you have read the terms and conditions for installing the program!

    Hello,
The last really supported Flash for PPC was 10.1.102.64, but if it's for like Facebook or such, people have been fooling FB to think they have a leter version installed.

Might be later ones around also... saw 11.3 I think.
(If you are running a PPC Mac with Flash Player 10.1.102.64 and are having problems with watching videos on FaceBook or other sites, contributor Texas Mac Man suggests the following solution which fools the site into thinking that you are running the latest version:)
Download this http://www.steelbin.com/FPforFBPPC.zip to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

Via Javascripting. Look for Flash detection kits at the
    Adobe/Maromedia web
site and also at Internet search engines.
As well this forum focuses on database access issues and you
    might find more
takers for this type of question in the Flash General forum.

  • Flash Player download keeps failing with lost connection and then gives up.  satellite Internet connection

    Win XP. Firefox 34.0.5 (latest)
The Flash  Player download keeps failing with lost connection and then gives up.I am on a  satellite Internet connection.
It seems to be extremely slow even when loading the installer which is only 1MB. Then when I run the installer and it starts to download the installation there are frequent messages about losing the connection and then finally gives up.
I have had problems with other software failing when I am on a satellite link. This is most likely because of the huge latency which may be taken as a link failure. Ping times are typically 800ms but can be 2000ms sometimes!

    Hello,
The online shim installer, which you are using actually downloads and installs Flash Player silently in the background.  If your satelite connection is experiencing latency issues it could result in the failure to download.  Please try the full installer posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows page, in the 'Still having problems' section.

  • Flash Player not working on any browser. (Video's keep loading forever)

    Hello everyone!
I've been having problems with my Flash Player for about a week now and I just can't seem to find a solution that works.
I'm not sure when the last update was, but I assume that could have caused my problems somehow. It used to work properly before.
I now have Adobe Flash Player version 16.0.0.235.
The browser I use is: Google Chrome.
    I use Windows 8 x64.
I also tried Firefox and Internet Explorer to see if I can watch video's there, but they don't work there either. The video's just keep loading no matter what I do.
Strangely enough today one video suddenly started to play itself after about..5 minutes. But when I tried to watch other video's after that happened, it didn't seem to work anymore.
The first day I installed Firefox I could just watch video's without any problems as well. But after that, It didn't work anymore either. It worked for just one day.
YouTube video's work properly, though. So do Facebook games, GIF's and such.
I only can't watch video's on other websites. ( For example: AnimeHaven ) My friends have no problems watching these video's.
I have no idea what could be the cause of these problems and I hope someone can help me fix this.
I tried everything I could find on the internet so far.

Yeah, it's probably not a driver thing.  If you haven't rebooted already, definitely do that.  It might just be that the graphics hardware is in a bad state.
The last thing we shipped was December 9th, so it's not like Flash Player changed.  If these symptoms just started recently, it seems unlikely that a recent change to Flash is the root-cause.  It's possible that Chrome might have pushed a change since then, but I talked to the Chrome guys yesterday and they didn't mention anything about a widespread video playback problem.  They have really excellent telemetry, so they usually know pretty quickly when things break.
It might be that your Chrome install is somehow damaged, and you could do a complete uninstall/reinstall of Chrome to see if the issue goes away.  You can also disable hardware acceleration in Chrome itself (it's under Preferences > Advanced > System > Use hardware acceleration if available) to see if that helps.
Is the issue isolated to a specific video or video site/sites?  Does it happen in either Internet Explorer or Firefox (they're both significantly different copies of Flash Player, which would be an interesting data point)?

  • Flash player is crashing when leaving browser page

I have Firefox 26.0 and the newest version of Flash player as of 13/1-14
My issue is not happening all the time, but a LOT. Whenever I've watched a Youtube video and then wanting to go back(leaving the browser page) it freezes and crashes. I have the option to keep it running or shutting it off, which eventually helps. Disabling the Flash player helps, not keeping it running.
I don't care for whatever reason it's not working, but you either fix this or get me a new keyboard, because of the immense amounts of irritation this ridicolous issue causes.
I'm sorry the warning is in Danish, but it says that the Shockwave Flash Player is either occupied or crashed. I can either stop the plugin or let it keep trying(why is that even an option? It does not try anything at all.. Except from keeping the browser frozen for a few more centuries..)

Download the following files (Right click and "Save Link as"):
    Shockwave Player Uninstaller
    Flash Player Uninstaller
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
    Shockwave Player 12 FULL Installer
    Reboot.
Run the Uninstallers from your Downloads folder, to remove BOTH Flash Player and Shockwave.
Go to: C/Windows/System32 and delete the Macromed folder.
Go to: C/Windows/SysWOW64 and delete the Macromed folder.
Open your Windows Registry Editor (Start>Run or press the Windows key+r. Tpye "regedit" [minus the quotes] and click OK.
In the Registry Editor, go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE and delete the Macromedia folder.
Go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software and delete the Macromedia folder.
Close the Registry Editor and empty your Recycle bin.
Run the Shockwave FULL Installer first, and THEN the Flash Player Installer. These are offline installers and will require no connection during the process.
If problems persist, try disbaling other plugins and extensions for Firefox, to determine if one or more is conflicting with Flash and Shockwave.

  • Flash Player Renders Images Differently in Browser than Stand-alone Player

    Hey, guys!
Not sure if this is a Flash issue or a Flash Player issue, but here we go...
I`m currently working on a Flash project with a great deal of images.
Flash does a great job compressing images, but in some cases it messes up the colors.
I have a big image on the background and it`s set to 80 compression from the Properties panel.
Everything looks fine in the stand-alone Flash Player when exporting from the IDE or even opening from disc, but when I insert the SWF in a HTML page (with SWFObject, dunno if it matters) some werid artifacts show up, and also the colors get shifted to slightly different values (I can tell since I have a background that should match the SWFs background!)...
There is a workaround, though. Setting compression to Lossless... Then everything looks EXACTLY the same both in the stand-alone player and in the browser. Just that you end up with a 900 kilo image instead of 200 and something... :|
And if you have several images that have to be treated "Losslessly", you end up with a pretty big SWF!
My other workaround was to sample the colors in the browser and modify the ones in my CSS for the HTML background.
That works well for the colors, but I still end up with some ugly artifacts, even when compression is set to 100!
And, again, the strange thing is that in the stand-alone player, everything is honkey dorey, the colors and all!
NOTE: the project I`m working on is a Flash 10 file, ActionScript 2, if that would matter...
Thank you for your time and I appreciate any suggestion/explanation!
    Alex

  • Flash Player 10 Crashing/Freezing IE 8

I've recently upgraded my laptop to Widows 7 and everytime I go to a site supporting Flash Player it crashes my Internet Explore 8 (The browser just freezes and is "not responding).  I've tried the following:
    1.  Uninstalling and reinstalling Flash Player.  I do use http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html to unistall.
    2.  Tried both 32 bit and 64 bit version of Internet Explorer.  I know Flash Player only supports 32 bit.
    3.  Tried using Google Chrome.   Browser still freezes.
    4. Tried different sites.  I've tried a number of sites and same issue reoccurs.  In fact, when I go to www.adobe.com the current video clip ("Avatar") freezes the browser.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you

I was growing tired of hearing this question, so I checked in with management and wrote a technote about the topic.. Generally IE8 is fine, but as with any new release there could be issues, so this doc covers how you'll deal with those:

  • Flash Player 10, Video Freezing, Audio Works OK.

Hi, I'm hoping somebody can help me.
I only really use flash player to watch things like youtube and the football highlights on the BBC website. I had flash player 9 until a couple of months ago, and everything was perfect, I was on a website and it came up saying I needed to upgrade to use the website, so I decided to do it, big mistake.
Now when I try to watch videos on flash player on IE7 they get just over 1 minute in then the video starts to freeze but the audio plays fine throughout, at first the video is only playing about 1 frame every second, then it slows over about 30 seconds to about 1 frame every 5 seconds, by this point the picture on the screen is way behind the audio, finally the video plays in fast forward and catches up with the audio and plays ok from there for another minute or so, then it starts all over again.  When the video starts freezing the CPU shoots up to 100% usage and lowers again when the video is playing normally.
It's actually quite funny watching the video when it plays in fast forward, especially when watching football, reminds me of Benny Hill.
Anybody any ideas? It does this in all browsers, firefox is the worst, IE7 the best, I generally use IE7.
My Computer is a Pentium M 1.5ghz, 1.3gb Ram, Windows XP SP2, 64mb Graphics Card, not great but was capable of playing flash videos on FP9.

Hi s, well congrats on getting your brother's computer up and running. On your system, you have all correct Flash Player
files for IE and FF, as well as the SWO and SWF.
Since the Install of Flash Player, have you installed any programs that would have added any ActiveX Controls, or any other add ons or plug-ins?
Have you had an opportunity to see if your brother's computer has the issue you have when watching the same websites?
Are you using any ad-block in FF(Firefox) or any pop up blocker software installed?  I can't imagine updating to FP version 10 alone would cause this.
Is this happening only on the BBC website? Does what you watch come thru the BBC website or youtube directly?
We have your brother's computer to use to determine what is going on. If he is able to see the BBC website and what you
are having problems with, then we can rule out the website.
Other browser add ons, anti-virus programs, etc. affect the browser. Even tho, no problem with vs 9. Sometimes updates
can have an affect, even with Windows as we all know:-)
    Thanks,

  • Flash player 11.8 freezes on streaming videos

    Welcome to the Adobe Forums.

  • How to permanently disable this message: "Press Esc to exit full screen." (by Adobe Flash Player) in Mac's Safari Browser?

    Hello everyone,
I have been searching for sometime (without any success) for a solution to permanently remove this annoying message: "Press Esc to exit full screen."
Whenever I go to full screen mode, watching any video on YouTube, BBC, CNN (or many other websites which use Adobe Flash Player for streaming video) I have to bare seeing this message for several seconds until it fades away. Seeing this message once or twice would have been okay, but as we all watch many videos on a daily basis on internet, after weeks, months and now years seeing this message over and over again many times every day, it becomes very annoying, and I find myself rewinding many videos to their beginning after this message fades away to be able to watch it from the beginning without anything obstructing it!
Does anyone know how to "permanently" disable this message from appearing?
I am using the latest version of Safari 6.0 on the latest version of OS X (Mountain Lion 10.8.1), and have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player (Plug-in version 11.4.402.265) installed on my new MacBook Pro 15" with Retina Display.
    Thanks,

    Thanks Carolyn,
I am attaching a screenshot here for you to see that this setting was already set to what you suggested. I didn't need to change it as it was like this even before I post this message.
So the problem still presists and unfortunately your suggestion is not a solution to this probelm.
Last night I did more reseach and found a discussion in Adobe website, it seems a lot of other people have the same issue, and even started a discussion in Adobe website about it. But unfortunately Adobe refuses to address it and enable the end user at least to have an option to turn this message off from displaying permanently on his/her computer.
I am writing down the url links for the two posts regarding this issue on Adobe's website:
    Link #1: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/921270
    Link #2: https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3058752
Hopefully more people will get involved and ultimately we will either get Adobe's attention, or someone will find a "hack" and post it here for all of us. I have found some suggested "hacks" for Windows environment (you can simply google it, I am sure you will find them too). But so far I haven't seen anything for Mac's Safari browser.
    Cheers,
    Ally
